Came here with friends, it's such a nice place. The food was incredible and the service was fast and the server was lovely

Great spot for our family night out, the staff were friendly and very helpful especially this time of year and very accommodating!

Met up for a family Xmas get together. Staff were very welcoming and festive food was good. We all left extremely full. Waiter Harry was very friendly & cheerful

Food was very poor and I heard a member of staff bad mouth me to another staff member. The restaurant had no heating on. Stay clear.

The food is is above average don't get me wrong there is better places BUT I find with lakeside you never have to book it's very cheap compared to others and the customer service is 100% I'd highly recommend this place

We went as it was close to my friends work for her 1 hour break as we don't get to see each other often. Her starters and then her mains arrived and still ours was yet to turn up, me and my son kept waiting I then chased it up, all they had was poor excuses of it's because of ordering separately so it gets cooled separately this would of been understandable if it was only a slight delay but had only ordered mains she had already had her starter and was half way through her mains before any of our food turned up. There was no excuse as the restaurant was empty, they only started to get more people coke in when we were waiting for our food. When our food had arrived majority of it was cold. The responce from the staff was pure rude making up excuses, they just made me grimace that they thought lying and being rude was the way to go. Not one of them thought to apologise.

Had a birthday breakfast today and Katie looked after us really well and was pleasant to talk to! Funny and cheerful and a good asset to the company! Keep up the good work! We will be back for sure

Booked a table for the family. We had a birthday. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t be served as they were closing orders at 6:30. The time they’d accepted our reservation for. And closing at 8 for a staff meeting. All we saw was staff having a jolly and drinking and one kind lad left to do almost everything. The food was abysmal and part of it we had to send back as it was uncooked. Three of our six didn’t eat anything because they were put of by the uncooked sausages and being rushed out. We were asked to leave at 7:45. It ruined my daughter’s birthday celebration and was treated with indifference. Would question coming here again. You have my email and phone number from my booing and I’ve phoned the lakeside to give my number again.

Spent a couple of nights in the hotel nearby whilst travelling, and having breakfast here each morning was one of the highlights of the brief stopovers in Northampton. Food was great. The place was family friendly. Great service, especially from Kache.

Food was relatively OK, but quite a nice place to have a few drinks. I had the chicken with wraps and salad which was filling and quite tasty, well priced too, I should not complain about anything really.... Oh there were a few tables that were not cleared in the one hour we were there but there was a children's party on so I guess staff were otherwise engaged. Apparently the Lakeside does breakfast too so I might look into that. Overall quite pleasant

Harry was absolutely fabulous at his job - he was very attentive and friendly. Very enthusiastic and clearly loves his job, which is rare to see! The mains were quite good but the dessert was poor quality. Good price for what you get though so I wasn’t going in with high expectations!

Had a really lovely time at this restaurant, food was amazing especially with a picky little one. Service was brilliant, props to the waitress, I think her name was Katie, as it was quite busy and she made sure we were all okay

Would have given more stars but the service was slower than usual, however must say the manager and Harry (staff) were very helpful and enjoyed their assistance and help when needed. 5 stars for Harry ☺️

We go mainly for our Son. Wacky warehouse has been a godsend to us whilst he’s a toddler and looking to burn off some energy. Victoria is always working in wacky warehouse when we are there and she is so attentive, always there to serve but also always interacts with the children and has even helped me when i’ve been on my own and my child has been having a meltdown about leaving. Couldn’t ask for better service, definitely enjoys her job and it shows!

Victoria is very friendly and attentive adding to the great, fun experience.

Not everything available on the menu. 1 they don't do anymore do I don't understand why it wasn't covered over on the menu. The tables weren't clear. 1 young lad behind the bar trying to do everything as not enough staff on. Outside lights weren't put on & it was pitch black outside. Not good when you've got to walk across a dark car park. My food was ok but the others I were with were not impressed.

We booked a table last nite for 6pm for my Grandson's 21st birthday.Our table wasn't ready took 20mins to even get a drink Table wasn't ready till 7 & told it be an hour for food We just told um to forget & went elsewhere Ruined my Grandson's si thanks lakeside

Front of house staff was lovely, the kitchen the other hand was shocking. 2 hour wait for 2 burgers and left with a refund. Ordered at 14.09 left at 16.07 with nothing The tablet opposite had cold food served. Utter shambles. Avoid the food at all cost. I will be sending an email to the head office.

Gave this a try as we were nearby and the traffic on a45 was stationary. I would guess weekday lunch is the best time to go when it isnt full of families with feral children. The food was ok and the staff were lovely. However it is filthy, the loos in the ladies all had broken locks.

The food was cold, the steaks were tough as old boots and gristly and a member of our party, had their order forgotten, only one member of staff behind the bar taking orders for drinks and food orders on their own, plus got fed up with waiting for staff to clear our plate's off the table we ended up doing it ourselves! Won't be going back, unless we're desperate!!!

Don't come here. Breakfast appalling. Waitress couldn't cope with two orders, she had no enthusiasm or charisma. Half the breakfast options were not available. Couldn't this morning cater for vegan nor vegetarians. Spend your mo ey elsewhere.

Probably the most awful food I have ever experienced in my life, I don’t even know what the mash potato was made off, cement I think? God smacked they could even serve that and call it food. Even the kids pasta wasn’t pasta! How can you get raw carrots and cucumber wrong? Surely that can’t be messed up, warm, wet and soft. Wow!

Disgusting place, walked in for breakfast after staying next door, we found ourselves to be the only ones in. The staff was sat drinking coffee no friendly welcome or service Breakfast was awful, breakfast came out wrong and I had finished before they rectified Rude staff and food was like it was re-heated Will definitely not return Maybe the managers need to train staff

Do you know what , this place is OK. Very pleasant and helpful staff. A good selection of drinks. Excellent provision for kids. Totally relaxed atmosphere. The food is pub food, nothing fancy but price wise you can not argue. When we asked for the salmon to be lightly cooked, that's what we got.

Awful. Never again. Ordered 3 Sunday Roasts and a children’s meal. The food came out so we went to get cutlery and there were only knives in the trays. Asked the staff and they went to the kitchen, returned and replied “We don’t have any” to which we asked “Should we eat our meals with some knives” and they said “We’re putting them through”. I asked for a tea spoon from the bar so my child could eat their meal at the very least. About 10 minutes later the server returned with 4 forks and I asked to speak to the manager. We said we were not eating cold food and will have a refund. The Sunday roast offer was £10 for a meal and drink, we had already had 7 drinks before this but got extra cokes due to the deal. The ‘manager’ refused to refund the full 3 x £10 and charged full price for 3 cokes so only a £20.25 refund was given. As we paid by card we were told the refund would take 3-5 days and “if we didn’t get it to call them”. There were several staff sitting around not doing very much, whether on a break or not on shift it didn’t look good at all. We watched as another person at the till required a refund and watched as a table received an incorrect meal. Surely someone could have quickly washed up 4 forks by hand and apologised with a free dessert for the child or actually given a genuine apology or explanation at the very least. No wonder it was empty on a Sunday lunch time.

Booked a table for 19 people with no problem. On the day all the staff were great and very friendly. They were short staffed but this did not affect the service given to us. Food came out quickly, we didn't have to wait too long for drinks either. The children in our party then went to the soft play area, where Fiona was very friendly and had good interaction with the children which was lovely to see. Thankyou to all the staff at Lakeside :) We will be back

Me and my partner brought our 2 children into the wacky warehouse today, upon first appearance the wacky was very busy due to a large birthday party however the young lady Morgan who served us was still very attentive and when it came to ordering food and drinks she explained the kids eat for £1 deal and made the whole visit a breeze. She made us feel very welcomed and very happy with our visit

The food was burnt after waiting 40 mins wait And on return looked like it had been thrown on the plate There was other tables close by that had left And their plates was still quit full The tables and chairs was sticky and Food under the table from previous diners Honestly the food was disgusting I would never recommend this place It’s filthy and waste of good money After a long discussion we got a refund of a quarter of the total bill NEVER AGAIN 😡

A small group of us regularly visit after work on a Saturday evening. Staff are always very pleasant. Order food & drinks through the app & it is bought out to you. Small beer garden & kiddies play area. Plenty of parking.

Whenever I stay in Northampton at the Premier Inn at The Lakeside I always pop into this restaurant. Why? A few reasons - the food is cheap and cheerful, good portion sizes, friendly atmosphere, and in particular Jack who always greets you with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. I’ll definitely keep coming back 😊

Foods good, along with staff and location. Decor is a bit tired in places, but it's clean.

Staff lovely and friendly. Place had a good feel to. The issue was the kitchens, we ordered drinks and a shared started, then we thought we would order mains after. Drinks arrived quickly, 55minutes later a luke warm starter arrived with missing items. So poor, and a shame for the waiters. I could hear other people chasing food. Also please make one side outside, non smoking. Essentially sort the kitchen issue out. We couldn't be bothered ordering mains or pudding.

Love the pub and the friendly staff, manager kache is exceptional and provided excellent customer service Will definitely visit again

The place was empty and it took over 30 minutes for me and my partners food to come out. The I wanted to take my pudding away as the food filled me up. I was forced to have it as the did not have any take away boxes for puddings. That took over 20 minutes to come out. The when I got it. It must have been microwave as it was so hot it burnt my mouth while trying to eat it. So we will not be coming here again

Friendly staff and very nice food

Having left it too late to book a family of 9, somewhere to eat out for fathers day, I called lakeside on the off chance that it wouldn't be fully booked like everywhere else today but it was. Thankfully Morgan contacted me back and had arranged a space for all 9 of us and had spoken to management and arranged furniture to be rearranged to fit us all in which I thought was amazing. Can't thank the staff enough I've had a lovely afternoon here. Food was lovely.

Staff were friendly and helpful, but had to be prompted to bring cutlery. They brought dessert for my grandson whilst we were still eating our main course. Meat was difficult to cut, although the rest of the meal was very tasty. Small things, but ratings can be very easily improved.

Typical Hungry Horse restaurant. You know what to expect at these chain type places. Boring menu with nothing really exciting to choose from. Decor is out dated. Sticky tables & dirty chairs. No cutlery given when ordering, had to find it ourselves. Sizzler dishes weren’t even sizzling. No “How was your food” from any staff. Staff sitting in restaurant, on phones/eating etc. Also bringing full rubbish bags through the restaurant isn’t a nice sight. Overall experience - wouldn’t recommend or return in a hurry.

Had a beautiful meal for my birthday here with friends. Staff all so friendly and even a complimentary drink from the lovely Manager called Leota 🥰 The chef Bailey even came out the kitchen so I could thank him for the well cooked food ! Such a friendly place....very recommended 😊

Although the food and service was good, we could hear shouting and swearing coming from the kitchen, which made us move seats as we didn't want to hear that. Kids were running around the restaurant too, which I know was not the restaurant's fault, but made us reconsider actually returning unfortunately.

Loud music coming from kitchen, staff shouting at each other, other people's children running around screaming. Food was generally OK but was happy to get out.

First time I visited this place for a business meeting breakfast with 6 of my customers and found the staff very helpful & with a good sense of humour. Service was quick and the charge was low for the quality of the breakfast. Great service keep it up and will be back again.

Went to the lakeside with all the family this morning for breakfast, both ladies couldn’t do enough for us, the kiddies even got a special treat of one of the mangers before leaving. I’ve forgotten the ladies names, but 5* for both of them. Will be returning next Saturday morning.

I have no words for how angry i am. Used to be a fantastic place. Booked for 18.30 this eve. Waited 10 mins to be seated at the wrong table. Then had to wait 20 mins for a drink and order starter. After going back to bar at 19.25 to order food was told kitchen shuts at 20.00.no problem ordering now. Half way through order get told kitchen is now closed and can't order any food. Half the staff sitting down talking and your new assistant manager also joining them. Great way to run a pub. There was no statement on facebook. Also the review was deleted I would like to say that since said manager is no longer there. The service is fantastic, food is great as always and staff are lovely. The only thing I have to say is. I'm upset we can't have the extra steak anymore. But I enjoy coming here again

Came in with my husband for breakfast. Service was good but the coffee and the food were served lukewarm so we had to ask for a warmer coffee and had to eat our breakfast fast before it became stone cold. Replying to your response. It was our first time ever using this establishment we travelled up from Kent to visit family, we are coming up again at the end of this month I will be booking into the nearby premier Inn but I will be eating elsewhere.

I went with my family for dinner and we asked for some tissues and they said they didn’t have any, they also didn’t have any soap left in the bathroom, the tables were dirty and sticky, one toilet was out of order and one toilet had no lock on it so there was 1/3 cubicles available, the food took forever to get served and the food was not nice and the fudge cake was supposed to be warm but it was cold. One fork was really sharp and broken as well.

Went for breakfast with a mate, food was hard and cold. Eggs were like rocks and the sausages were cold. Unbelievable.

Mediocre food AWFUL TOILETS no excuse for that filth and smell couldn’t finish my meal after going there don’t know how they can legally stay open with toilets like that I could smell hours after leaving you only get a strong ammonia smell like that when urine is left for days and it crystallises bleach everyday 30 seconds job done

Really long wait for drinks and food even though not busy and most disgusting part was the raw sewage in gents toilets, all across floor and going out door. Informed staff but nothing done about it.

Lakeside food, service is basic also service a bit slow ordered food @7.30pm food came about 25mins which looked like it was thrown together hardly any sauce, food was dumped on table with no indication on where the cutlery also sauces, no-one on front bar because we said Deserts after mains still waiting for plates to be cleared nearly 25 minutes waiting asked for desert which took another 10mins honestly wouldn't be using this restaurant again

Relaxing, quiet period time, breakfast. Services very good, can't order on app as some pubs do. The foods are well presented, cooked to my likely and good filling. The pub has plenty of seating, some areas are well lit and some areas are shadowed. It also has a wacky warehouse for under 12 to play in but charge. The whole of pub is well clean. However the bathroom needs attention. Ladies and disabled toilet really need refurbished big time. Faulty toilet in one, the toilet roll holder is broken, the door handle is broken, falling apart, need lick of paint, the sink cover in tape out of order. The whole experience in toilet is very unclean. It is a very good pub with great service, just the toilet really needed to be dealt with asap.

Went to the lakeside with some friends for food and a few drinks, the food was great, but the service was better, the girl working there kept checking to see if we was OK and made us a mix of drinks/shots 🙈 we definitely kept you busy! Thanks for a great evening, the lady did tell me her name but was a little tipsy lol think it was kache? I may be wrong lol. Thanks and will be back soon!

Visited this lovely restaurant last week the service was amazing the food was beautiful great portions and cheap all the staff lovely and very helpful aspecially the girl who served me kache so polite and just beautifully mannered My son come with me and it is very kid friendly he loved the wakeys Thank you so much we will see you again next week ❤️

We have had lunch and dinner here and not a problem and was spot on . However we had breakfast 24/03/24 And had this been our first experience we would of never returned . Long wait not a problem but to have many item deep fried sorry this day and age so wrong .may I add we have eaten breakfast at other hungry horse restaurants and never had this . We will not return for another one ps ordered white toast but was just given brown my wife said ok but does not eat it . They could of asked and even refunded before just serving it out . Sorry I had to write this but it was disgusting

I stayed at the Premier inn next door and used this restaurant every evening while away on a trip for work. Excellent food, really fast and friendly service. Excellent prices too. Could not recommend enough, I will definitely be back!

we come here on the weekends and take my three children into the wacky part where a lovely lady called brittany serves us she is absolutely lovely so friendly with my children which can be hard work but makes me feel relax and interact with the children when needed wouldn’t go anywhere else thank you brittany, also is amazing at her job

Came here for a family meal on freebie Thursday , all of the food was fantastic and we would like to give a special shout out to jack the manager. Even though the coffee machine was down he got it made from the wacky warehouse for us. All of the food was served quickly and with friendly service from all of the staff. We will definitely be back, highly recommended
