Great Meal, friendly staff. Recommend the Milkshake!

staying in the next door hotel me and my daughter wonted a evening meal waling over to it I was taken back by how run down it was. then inside was warn and old. dust on anything on the walls. we had some of the meal but left most the chicken I had was hard to cut and looked grey. that night we both felt unwell with my daughter sick all night. as I had paid for breakfast I tried it but no better the place needs older people in charge from what I saw and needs a total refit or knocking down. one door is boarded up and rubbish all over. I got a refund will never be back.

I've used this place for over ten years now. In the last five years, it has gone downhill. Food comes out lukewarm. It always seems cold in the seating area unless you sit next to a radiator. You can feel the cold coming from around the windows, simple bit of silicone would sort that out. Pretty disappointing.

Had a great afternoon and the food was really good, Kache was very welcoming and the bar staff very friendly, Harry who bought us our food was a really nice man who made sure we had everything we wanted.

I’ve been working in Brackmills for the last four and a half years so have been here many times with work friends and other times with family. Always good service and friendly staff. Harry is definitely an asset you this place, always there to offer his services, cannot do enough for you.

What a lovely Hungry Horse. We really miss having a restaurant in Kettering so ventured further afield and it was wonderful. We were met with a genuinely warm welcome and were well looked after by the efficient server Harry. The mix it up was delicious and arrived very quickly. We look forward to coming back again soon.

Food quality and portion size excellent really enjoyed our visit to lakeside today. Staff very helpful friendly attentive. Visited midweek so was quiet.

The cheeseburger quesadilla was almost inedible. Dry, no sauce, no cheese and awful tasting. The salad was ok. I had a pint of Coke, the glad I noticed was filthy around the rim. I advised the staff member of the awful food. I asked if they had tried it. They said no and weren’t likely to now. I was offered no refund or replacement. Truly awful. The lady who served me at the bar was friendly. That was the only positive.

Maria was amazing she made me feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her at my time visiting the lakeside. I would to pass on my thanks to Maria and her team for for a great visit to the lakeside I will definitely come back to the Lakeside again

Went to the lakeside today with the family(9 of us). Toilets were filthy and smelly. The floor in the restaurant had food under the table and the table was sticky. Food arrived with two dishes short. Waited 15 minutes and still hadn't arrived. Asking the manager where the other meals were she said sorry and went to see, had to wait for them to be cooked and the others in party had finished when it arrived. Food wasn't great either I must add but did get a sorry when I said this isn't good enough! Won't be going again and would advise people to not waist there money.

Staff ignore you when you are at the bar and are rude

The food wasn't the best wasn't hot chips cold sent food back staff was miserable the lady in the lakeside part seem friendly but bar staff miserable and rude. Shame that the kids like the play area

Breakfast Sunday 26 January 2025. Stayed next door at the Lakes Premier Inn; full breakfast included. An excellent cooked English breakfast by Chef David and towards the end of our breakfast experience, service by Natasha who was warm, friendly and ensured we were happy and had everything we needed. Thank you to them both. Prior to that staff friendly and attended to our needs however dirty drinking glasses on buffet table, had to ask for coffee/tea cups, side plates and bowls. No drinking water on counter with juices. No fruit bowl selection as indicated on menu. Dirty dining tables; should have been wiped down after previous use. Could be better prepared to ensure a cleaner and hassle free dining experience for guests.

My son loves Wacky Warehouse .. the team are great, Vic is always welcoming and super helpful!

First time dining here in over 15 years. Maria was extremely helpful and polite. Fast efficient service when it came to food delivery, great portion sizes and everything cooked to perfection.

Went here for some food today. Really good and cheap. Got served by sue who was really friendly and nice.

Arrived after travelling all day due to a business trip. This place was filthy. Carpeted floors literally full of chips and large amounts of food debris which staff were making no attempt to clean. It was not busy - only a couple and a table of 4. All the empty tables had been left with dirty plates and glasses from previous guests. Again, staff doing nothing about it. Staff had their own designated table which they openly sat at, chatting, laughing, on phones. Restaurant guests had to repeatedly get up and approach them for very basic restaurant needs - knives, forks and serviettes for example - the self service area for these were empty. Told no serviettes so was given kitchen roll. The person who I assumed was a manager was literally lounging at this “staff table”, shirt unbuttoned almost to the waist, pint in hand and generally seeming to have a great laugh with his colleagues whilst the restaurant was in a dismal state and paying customers ignored. I’m astounded that the Premier Inn across the car park has any affiliation to this place - what a let down. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had in any pub/restaurant. Poor.

Alex the waiter was amazing. The staff were friendly. Food was really nice with a nice quiet atmosphere. Very good.

was there sharing a visit with sister after having my daughters 21st the night before. Thought was good way to end their visit. my food was shocking after having to wait came out cold.

Absolutely shocking. Booked for wacky warehouse to be told they were overbooked but we were allowed in. There were several parties one of which the adult were fighting in the kids ball pit. One member of staff Absolutely clueless attempting to run it all. Asked to be moved as it was ridiculous. We were moved into resteraunt ended up with freezing cold food. My little boy who is 4 didn't even get his meal as the girl in wacky warehouse claimed it was lnt ordered despite being paid for. Ended up with a refund for soft play but not good enough. Staff were rude and incapable, team leader ignored us when we wanted to sort the issue, will not be returning my son who's birthday it was left upset and we ended up at macdonalds. Absolutely awful and we weren't the only customers complaining

We went as a family of 12 as a break from cooking and being stuck in the house. We arrived with nobody to show us to our table, when we did sit down the tables where sticky my glass had lipstick on it ! We finally decided to order to say there was no bread rolls, baguettes, wraps or pies so could only order food that had none of these things in. Finally got our food was mediocre and that's being kind! Some things where not with our dish and the portions are very small I mean very small. Men's toilets where also out of action so the disabled toilet was massively used ! And you could tell! Staff where lovely tho and this isn't there fault, but I'd definitely not reccomend and won't be going back.

We visited this restaurant as a family of 21 for Christmas dinner. The food was amazing staff was so kind and helpful. We have never chosen to eat out over Xmas to our suprise it was a wonderful time would definitely go back to this resturants also would like to thank the manager kache and her team for being so professional. The food was served together. The children loved it and their time wakies play erea. Thank you all so much for making our day extra special. We will be returning in the new year.

Slow on waiting for food Not the staffs fault maybe management could maybe get staff to come help Staff trying their best Atmosphere I’ve scored one I’m a cleaner myself and toilet paper should be stocked up and toilets not cleaned properly wouldn’t let my kid touch anything Again maybe management could look into a cleaner 👍 Work needs doing it could end up with more stars Staff apologetic but overall I’d blame management, not the staff ,given it’s been Christmas and Boxing Day I’d definitely improve in all these areas give me a shout if you need a cleaning company 👍 I had hunters chicken the chicken was a bit dry

We came here for a quick family meal on a Friday, the staff were friendly and really responsive, the atmosphere and other patrons were charming. Everyone enjoyed their food, including the picky eater. Would recommend again and again.

Restaurant looks run down, doesn’t look massively clean. The food was ok - it came out questionably fast, which you probably think was a microwave job but the staff were very friendly which is nice

The Hungry Horse at Lakeside is a great spot for a casual meal. The burgers and fries are fantastic, juicy, flavorful, and satisfying and the portion sizes are generous. Prices are decent overall, but the real value comes from their daily deals: two burgers for the price of one on Fridays, or a roast and a drink for only £10 on Sundays! I’ve visited multiple times in the past two weeks due to work, and the experience has been mostly positive. When Lewis was our server, he was excellent, attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. That said, not everything on the menu hits the mark. For example, the curry was disappointing, it tasted like a microwave meal, and you can get much better from any takeaway shop. The Sloppy Joe toast is also underwhelming. Overall, it’s a great place for an affordable meal, but some dishes could use improvement.

Was it me? Obviously some problems with the heating system?? The service was poor, table was sticky, all day breakfast!!! Terrible, even had to collect my own cutlery!! The butter for the toast was just out from the fridge and solid!!! The staff were pre- occupied with talking to each other. No wonder the staff has changed. Go again???? Highly unlikely.

It was freezing cold, couldn't get a hot drink as they had no milk, service slow, lots of staff wandering about but never anyone behind the bar. Took them nearly 30mins to let me know they hadn't got the desserts I ordered. Couldn't get refund as paid on voucher but put £5.64 cash towards it but wouldn't even refund that. 2nd time in 12 months that was very disappointing so won't go again. Gone really downhill in last 2 years.

This venue offers an excellent selection of food and drinks and we advise you choose straight from the venue instead of booking through the hotel. Thank you Katie.

Food was very poor and I heard a member of staff bad mouth me to another staff member. The restaurant had no heating on. Stay clear.

The food is is above average don't get me wrong there is better places BUT I find with lakeside you never have to book it's very cheap compared to others and the customer service is 100% I'd highly recommend this place

We went as it was close to my friends work for her 1 hour break as we don't get to see each other often. Her starters and then her mains arrived and still ours was yet to turn up, me and my son kept waiting I then chased it up, all they had was poor excuses of it's because of ordering separately so it gets cooled separately this would of been understandable if it was only a slight delay but had only ordered mains she had already had her starter and was half way through her mains before any of our food turned up. There was no excuse as the restaurant was empty, they only started to get more people coke in when we were waiting for our food. When our food had arrived majority of it was cold. The responce from the staff was pure rude making up excuses, they just made me grimace that they thought lying and being rude was the way to go. Not one of them thought to apologise.

Had a birthday breakfast today and Katie looked after us really well and was pleasant to talk to! Funny and cheerful and a good asset to the company! Keep up the good work! We will be back for sure

Booked a table for the family. We had a birthday. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t be served as they were closing orders at 6:30. The time they’d accepted our reservation for. And closing at 8 for a staff meeting. All we saw was staff having a jolly and drinking and one kind lad left to do almost everything. The food was abysmal and part of it we had to send back as it was uncooked. Three of our six didn’t eat anything because they were put of by the uncooked sausages and being rushed out. We were asked to leave at 7:45. It ruined my daughter’s birthday celebration and was treated with indifference. Would question coming here again. You have my email and phone number from my booing and I’ve phoned the lakeside to give my number again.

Spent a couple of nights in the hotel nearby whilst travelling, and having breakfast here each morning was one of the highlights of the brief stopovers in Northampton. Food was great. The place was family friendly. Great service, especially from Kache.

Food was relatively OK, but quite a nice place to have a few drinks. I had the chicken with wraps and salad which was filling and quite tasty, well priced too, I should not complain about anything really.... Oh there were a few tables that were not cleared in the one hour we were there but there was a children's party on so I guess staff were otherwise engaged. Apparently the Lakeside does breakfast too so I might look into that. Overall quite pleasant

Harry was absolutely fabulous at his job - he was very attentive and friendly. Very enthusiastic and clearly loves his job, which is rare to see! The mains were quite good but the dessert was poor quality. Good price for what you get though so I wasn’t going in with high expectations!

Would have given more stars but the service was slower than usual, however must say the manager and Harry (staff) were very helpful and enjoyed their assistance and help when needed. 5 stars for Harry ☺️

We go mainly for our Son. Wacky warehouse has been a godsend to us whilst he’s a toddler and looking to burn off some energy. Victoria is always working in wacky warehouse when we are there and she is so attentive, always there to serve but also always interacts with the children and has even helped me when i’ve been on my own and my child has been having a meltdown about leaving. Couldn’t ask for better service, definitely enjoys her job and it shows!

Not everything available on the menu. 1 they don't do anymore do I don't understand why it wasn't covered over on the menu. The tables weren't clear. 1 young lad behind the bar trying to do everything as not enough staff on. Outside lights weren't put on & it was pitch black outside. Not good when you've got to walk across a dark car park. My food was ok but the others I were with were not impressed.

We booked a table last nite for 6pm for my Grandson's 21st birthday.Our table wasn't ready took 20mins to even get a drink Table wasn't ready till 7 & told it be an hour for food We just told um to forget & went elsewhere Ruined my Grandson's si thanks lakeside

Front of house staff was lovely, the kitchen the other hand was shocking. 2 hour wait for 2 burgers and left with a refund. Ordered at 14.09 left at 16.07 with nothing The tablet opposite had cold food served. Utter shambles. Avoid the food at all cost. I will be sending an email to the head office.

Gave this a try as we were nearby and the traffic on a45 was stationary. I would guess weekday lunch is the best time to go when it isnt full of families with feral children. The food was ok and the staff were lovely. However it is filthy, the loos in the ladies all had broken locks.

The food was cold, the steaks were tough as old boots and gristly and a member of our party, had their order forgotten, only one member of staff behind the bar taking orders for drinks and food orders on their own, plus got fed up with waiting for staff to clear our plate's off the table we ended up doing it ourselves! Won't be going back, unless we're desperate!!!

Don't come here. Breakfast appalling. Waitress couldn't cope with two orders, she had no enthusiasm or charisma. Half the breakfast options were not available. Couldn't this morning cater for vegan nor vegetarians. Spend your mo ey elsewhere.

Probably the most awful food I have ever experienced in my life, I don’t even know what the mash potato was made off, cement I think? God smacked they could even serve that and call it food. Even the kids pasta wasn’t pasta! How can you get raw carrots and cucumber wrong? Surely that can’t be messed up, warm, wet and soft. Wow!
