We had a mid-week catch up after work with friends at New Saffron. An excellent meal with a very friendly and efficient service in what is a brand new venue. One of the best indian restaurants in the area by far!

I missed some of the Nimmi menu choices but the food we ate was delicious.

I must say! The BEST FOOD I’ve ever had. Highly recommend mixed grill, korma, prawn bhuna and biriyani. Perfectly seasoned and so flavoursome, 5* to the chef . Desserts were amazing, kids were amazed by the penguin ice cream. The staff was super friendly yet professional. Drinks and food served swiftly. The restaurant itself had an amazing atmosphere, the fish tank and the water feature definitely topped it. Honestly “THE BEST”, well done.

Temperature of the food was not even warm, curry lacked flavour and was watery.

Visited whilst travelling through Thetford. Great service, excellent standard of food - Highly reccomend. We were a family of four with 2 children and they really went the extra mile. The owner/manager has excellent customer service skills.

We found this little gem before they moved in to new premises in White Hart Street. Food is lovely and more than enough of it, the service is great and the owner/manager takes time out to make you feel special each and every time you visit. We are not the easiest people to please, being Vegan always has its problems, but each and every time the food has been amazing, hot and good quality. Can recommend enough and can't wait to go again! Ship and is staff immaculately presented, in there new restaurant, with a fantastic vibe and ambiance. Food was excellent as always and a 20% discount for mothers day, what more could we ask for. Will be back soon for another feast.

The new restaurant is much larger than the former premises. The decoration and accoutrements are first class. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. Parking is available within 150 yds. Certainly worth the twenty minute drive to get to the restaurant. We will be returning very soon. This venture deserves patronage and I feel sure it will be very warmly received within Thetford.

The best dining experience at the new saffron restaurant in Thetford The authentic curry, especially the chicken tikka masala with naan bread, was delicious. And enjoying it with a kingfisher, traditional Indian lager was delightful. Finishing off with a very nice liqueur coffee was a perfect way to end such a fantastic meal. We recommend the experience tasty food and enjoy the culture of this truly amazing restaurant

The New Saffron has traditionally been our favourite Indian Restaurant and I’d rate it the best of any I’ve been to nationwide. The recent move to new premises on White Hart Street has raised the bar even higher with comfortable surroundings, friendly staff and excellent food making it a special occasion for us. Well worth a visit.

Valentine's night food was barely warm, extras were missing and the prawns didn't taste fresh. We ended up not eating the meal, calling up the restaurant and asking for them to collect the food and issue a refund so we can order from elsewhere. We ordered online, through their own website and paid cash. We were offered a £5 gift card which isn't acceptable. We asked again for a refund and we're told we had to do it through the website we ordered through. Their website. I checked the website I ordered through and it gives the telephone number of the restaurant regarding complaints. The chef I spoke with told me I'm getting nothing and was abrupt and rude saying that the food was cooked fresh and that he can't refund us as they have delivered the food. We were then told, quite rudely again, that it was busy and that they would call us back at some point later. Worst customer service I have ever received!!

One of the worst Indian restaurants I’ve been to. How can you serve me one prawn as a sharing starter. Chilli paneer was mediocre. Biryani was underwhelming. Tarka dhal was bland and cold. Would not recommend, not sure how it has good average reviews. I should’ve walked out when I got there and it was empty but I thought it could be due to bad weather.

Wow..... This curry house is right up there in my eyes.The food was lovely I had a lamb dish that was to die for.Spoke to the owner who informed me they slow cook the lamb for maximum taste and melt in the mouth texture.The passion he shows is absolutely brilliant.Dont go anywhere else but here when in Thetford.

This is a very pleasant modern minimalist Indian restaurant with curtious, knowledgeable and attentive waiters. The  food was cooked to perfection, tender meat, perfectly seasoned sauces and the lightest naan bread. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in which I have had the pleasure to eat and I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.

Ordered take away and was really looking forward to good scampi but it was awful not proper scampi it was the mashed up rubbish. I can't eat that it has to be whole tail scampi. For over 10 pounds you'd expect decent meal but it was the worst scampi I've ever had. Please don't order this dish if you want proper scampi as you'll be very disappointed

I went with friends who were visiting from abroad. We had been on their last visit and they had specifically asked to go back. New Saffron didn’t disappoint. The service was extremely friendly and quick. The food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely come again.

The food was terrible. Onion bhaji's weren't cooked all the way through, the chutney's were missing, the Pasanda was awful and looked like it may have spilt and the Tarka Daal was like a watery broth. We ordered extra to keep as another meal in the week, but have now thrown it all in the bin. What a waste of money. I won't be ordering from here again.

We were visiting the area and decided to order a take away from New Safron. It was delicious and every dish we ordered cooked to perfection. The greeting from the team when we arrived to pick up our order was warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to visiting Thetford again and dining in at New Safron in the future.

I was up in Thetford for a course and realised I had booked my bus back to Cornwall the day after so looked around for some food. I love Indian cuisine and quickly found New Saffron on a online search. What can I say, it was beautifully cooked. Much better than the local curry houses near me. I started with a mixed kebab start (which I kind of wish I had ordered for my main.) It was so well cooked. The meat was juicy and so flavourful. The main I had was lamb dish that the owner recommended and boy I'm glad he did. Just the right amount of heat and again the meat was cooked perfectly. I had a side of rice and a keema nan. Even the keema was expertly made. Not to much mince in it the was its supposed to be, but enough to get the lamb flavour through it. The owner was a very nice man. He would go above and beyond for any of his customers and all I can say is well done to him. A great place to eat and next time I'm in Thetford I shall definitely be stopping in again.
