Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and fairly reasonably priced drinks. We went over Christmas and enjoyed a good night here

Trevligt ställe men servicen beror lite på dagsformen. Maten ok.

A bit dirty and dated, not in a chic modern way, just in a dank and not great way. Staff are a bit off kilter, the patrons were a mixed bunch. Watched the football which had clear commentary at a decent volume and on a big screen. Also tried a pizza. Good value food. Decent sized pizza, a little oily but not too bad. Wasn't convinced by adding Hummus to the pizza, doesn't work as an ingredient at all but otherwise it was a decent enough pizza by pub standards. If nowhere better I would return for football as it is a reasonable setup with good sight-lines for a game but otherwise I think I would just walk on by in future as plenty of interesting looking pubs elsewhere within the area.

We went on a Friday and it had good vibes but wasn’t crazy busy. Good beer and good, modern but traditional-boozer-feeling decor. It’s hipster without being cringe.

I’ve had a few Sunday Roasts at the New Rose, and this was my first experience of cauliflower cheese, included with the main dish. A cool pub to hang out at all times!

Bueno, es lo que dice. Otro pub. Generalmente, gente tan obscena.

We had drinks and nibbles while watching the Eurovision Song contest final and enjoyed this pub's vibe. Beer is quite expensive, even for the Angel area. Food was filling and tasty. They provided country flags and Abba's masks, which was cool.

I love this as my local. One of the few pubs between Highbury and Angel that isn't trying way too painfully hard to be a really cool joint. Yes, there are hipsters there and it is a bit kitsch, but the general atmosphere is pub. They have normal but nice beers on tap and change around enough, they play the Arsenal matches, it is a bit grotty in the corners, the place hasn't been ripped out and rebuilt to look like a Bill's, and you can bring your dog. And they serve Prawn Cocktail Taytos. Case closed.

This is my favourite pub in London, always welcome and never a hassle, The New Rose has excellent staff, great food and is a comfortable cosy place to spend an evening. Real fires in winter, and a gorgeous garden in summer, it's always a 'go-to' whenever I'm in London. Everyone I know loves it, and knows it well.

It was the final of the Olympic rugby 7's and we were struggling for a pub in the area to watch it in. No-one seemed to have it on. We asked at the bar and they dropped the big screen and put it on use for us in time for kick off. As it was a music night they didn't have the commentary on bit at least we got to watch the gold medal game. Shame about the result but good of the staff to sort the screen out for us. A decent pint of Guinness too!

Great place for a drink, whether during the day or late at night. Cute little beer garden at the back, and loads of space out the front to watch the world go by. Freindly staff and good beer - plus footballk on TV - quickly became my "holiday local"!

A friendly, busy and traditional pub. The inside is refreshingly different, it has the sort of cluttered and non-uniform look that other less interesting places get an interior designer to do. Excellent real ale, great looking food and between 5 and 6 (on Fridays at least but perhaps all week) you can roll dice with the bar staff, and if you win you get money off your beer. They rolled two sixes, I was out of luck. The only negative is that, like a lot of pubs these days, they take reservations for tables. On my visit, two large tables were reserved from 5:30 and when I left at 6:30, nobody had turned up to claim them so they just went empty while people stood. Bad show, but this pub isn't the only offender. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

There was a sign outside the New Rose that said "Crackin Sunday roasts" and, from enjoying a roast beef (£14), I have to say my meal lived up to that. The pinkish meat was wafer thin (I don't think I've seen anything served that thin before), but was extremely tasty. The gravy could have been thicker, yet there was plenty of it and it had lots of flavour - greatly aided by the excellent red cabbage. My roasted carrots were perfect, as was the steamed broccoli. No complaints about the crispy roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding either. I've enjoyed beers in here before (four decent, well looked-after hand pumped ales were on when I visited for lunch) and following this meal I'll definitely be back again for food. It's nice that with the wave of modernisation of pubs in recent years that places like the New Rose survive. Friendly staff and good music (David Bowie's Under Pressure was playing as my food was brought to the table) keep this place alive and kicking. The venue describes itself as "Just another pub" but it is most definitely not. It's pretty special.

We organised our staff party here and they were fabulous - couldn't have done more for us, we were loud and unthinking but they didn't tell us off just managed us. Very very good and we were pleased to return the favour, albeit, very briefly the next day. We had a fantastic night - thanks folks xx

This was the first place we stopped in after arriving in London. We had put our luggage away in our flat and took a walk around Islington and came across this place. Jonny and Alex were behind the bar and made us feel very welcome. We each had a drink and ordered Fish & Chips and Sheppard's Pie and both were amazing. Needless to say we will be back!

I’d been walking past the New Rose for years, and for some reason only just noticed it. And despite what they say, it isn't just 'another pub'. On my second recent visit with friends we decided to try the Sunday Roast, and it didn't disappoint. Of course it wasn't as good as my mum's, but it was up there with some of the best I've had. Definitely, worth a trip. Great pub, great atmosphere. And like all these places, it's the staff that make it.

Having arrived early for a concert at St James's Church, just around the corner, I felt like a quick drink. As the New Rose was so close, I called in. I wasn't disappointed - lovely atmosphere, fine ale, and a great bunch of people. If I lived close, this one could easily become my local. A fine pub, and not at all 'touristy'.

My friend and I love meeting here for our catch-ups. The wine bar is really relaxed while still being inviting and sophisticated. The wine selection is amazing! They have some beautiful sparkling wines too and the wines range in price. Yesterday we ordered a sharing plate and it was so generous! The selection of meats snd cheese, quince jam, pickles wonderful, reminding us of our girls trip to Florence. The staff there are brilliant too, Emma served us yesterday and she recommended a gorgeous red.(so good I had to buy one to takeaway for the weekend!) She was very knowledgeable and very kind. We enjoyed a lovely evening, as always at N4.

Very friendly cafe, almost next to King's Cross Station. Went to stoke up before a long train journey and had a large full English, with much better quality bacon and sausage than usual in these kind of cafes, great coffee and excellent freshly squeezed orange juice. Total cost £11.45 - excellent!

We put on an event for a London-based client and found the Coin Laundry to be a very amenable venue with staff who went the whole hog to ensure things went well. Eli was the main man on the day, bringing South American flare by the bucketload. There was also a tall chap who helped with the AV which had a few glitches - his calmness was a big help The best part of it all was the food, all of the sharing plates were loaded and contained some amazing nibbles we had about 60 guests, a golf simulator and we were very snug.
