The Pompidou Cafe in Islington

Very friendly cafe, almost next to King's Cross Station. Went to stoke up before a long train journey and had a large full English, with much better quality bacon and sausage than usual in these kind of cafes, great coffee and excellent freshly squeezed orange juice. Total cost £11.45 - excellent!

Les viennoiseries sont aussi très bonnes.L'accueil est chaleureux et oh surprise le patron parle Français. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter lors de notre prochaine venue.

Nice people and nice café. We’ve choose it for breakfast and we were right. Beautiful smashed avocado with chili and coriander and lime, and poached eggs and salmon were very delightful. Sure we’ll back again. :)

Wow, what an amazing lunch. Called in at this place as we were passing yesterday. We were wanting to support an independent business rather than the big boys. My companion had a BLT and I had avocado toast with roasted vegetables- both meals were so tasted and beautifully presented. I also had a lovely black coffee. I am vegan so just asked what they could do that was vegan rather than try and filter through the menu myself. Food was great, coffee was great, the price was reasonable for central London and the place was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely would recommend.

We wanted a real lunch while travelling through London to Nottingham. This is a real gem and less than a three minute walk from St Pancras station! The omelette and jacket potato were lovely and the side salads were AMAZING (far more than the usual lettuce, tomato and cucumber)! This was all topped off with lovely friendly staff and very reasonable prices for central London!!We can’t recommend highly enough and will definitely be back when travelling again!

Excellent place for breakfast/lunch - plenty of choices! I had a Big Breakfast and a Latte: absolutely delicious & the scrambled eggs were spot on! Will definitely come to this place everytime I visit London Kings Cross.

We stayed overnight nearby and on Saturday 4/01/2020 we wanted a good breakfast.We found this cracking little cafe on the way to Kingscross.I just wanted a traditional full English and boy did this gaff deliver.Superb meal and at a reasonable price.Great service and also a great menu.I won't hesitate to visit here next time I come to London.All credit to staff.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Near King's Cross and tiny (we were lucky to get a table). We were met warmly, despite the crowdedness and the plates were massive, the food delicious. A great deal, all told. I'm so glad we found Cafe Pompidou.

I like supporting small independent businesses and visit Pompidou every time I am Kings Cross. I like the staff, who are always pleasant and engaged, however challenging the customers. The food is always fresh and the prices are reasonable. I am going for breakfast in the morning.

Nous sommes venus 3 jours et résidions à côté. L’accueil est chaleureux, les prix sont corrects et le petit-déjeuner copieux. Notre fils a trouvé son bonheur dans la carte proposée. Personnellement je me suis régalée avec le Pompidou breakfast. Merci à l’équipe pour ce très bon service, j’y reviendrai sans hésitation.

Last day in London and time for a full English for my youngest, called Pompidou breakfast, a success! The hubby went for an omelette, also delicious. My oldest took a bagel with salmon. For me, it was smashed avocado with poeched eggs, great. Very friendly staff!

Our first meal in London after a transatlantic flight was right here. We had a seat in the rear and staff took our order promptly. Our food came quickly and was delicious. There is a nice variety for all meals with generous portions.

Loved the staff and the atmosphere. It is a cafe so the food is not particularly extraordinary, but we really enjoyed going there. Would visit more often if we could. Very good value

There are many eating places within King's Cross but if you are looking for something better value and more authentic head 150 metres East of the station to this small cafe. I had a beautifully made chicken escalope panini with cheese and roasted vegetables served with a delicious small side salad plus a well made cappuccino for about £8.

.... I've had in a long time. Was recommended by a friend. We nipped in for a breakfast sammie. She had bacon. I had bacon and sausage. Loved it. The bread was lush. Get yourself there!

We were staying at a hotel just up the road and stumbled across this cafe by chance but what a find it was! We visited both mornings for breakfast, all 4 of us had something different to eachother both days and all was absolutely delicious, I personally would recommend the avacado on toast, it was too die for! The orange juice is freshly squeezed, not something you usually get in a cafe, that was beautiful, we even bought some to take away! The staff in here make the place even better, they are so welcoming and can't do enough for you! Definitely be returning on our next visit to London.

Me and my partner were greeted pleasantly as soon as we walked in. The breakfast menu had a diverse range, plenty to choose from. I would recommend the Big Breakfast!! - to conclude I would recommend this Cafe to anyone!

I asked for a receipt as I get reimbursed by my work for this. I was told they do not give receipts after the till has already been used. Absolute joke of a business.

We have visited this place a few times now when visiting family in London and we are always pleased with the experience. We have only ever had breakfast there so cannot comment on anything else but there is always great choice. I was a little worried this time, as due to some health issues, my diet has changed drastically and I was worried that I would not be able to get anything suitable. However, they seem to have increased the menu even further since our last visit with lots of 'healthier' options which was fab. The only issue is that they always have the door open (I imagine it gets very hot for them working in the kitchen) but it was a particularly cold morning and it made it a little unpleasant. The service and delivery of food was also quite slow but other than that, it was great and the owner always greets you warmly.

El desayuno es el de La foto, nos costó 8 libras más un batido de fresa (que estaba buenísimo) que nos costó 4 libras. La comida estaba muy buena, la presentación del plato, y el servicio genial. Tuvimos que esperar un poco porque estaba lleno, pero mereció la pena. Volveríamos de nuevo sin duda

Pompidou offers great breakfast any hour they are open. We searched high and low for breakfast the previous day and ran into dead ends everywhere we looked. The owner greeted us immediately and remained engaged during our entire experience. She was also quick to tend to our needs. The owner and her personnel were observed meticulously cleaning the café while we were there. It was obvious they take pride in the hygiene and appearance of the establishment. Of all the available options in the surrounding area, we definitely made the right choice by selecting Pompidou. The food was very fresh and satisfying. Do yourself a favor and try Pompidou if you find yourself in the King’s Cross St Pancras area. The café is only a few minutes walk from the train and underground rails.

Wij hebben hier gelunched voor nog geen 15 euro, verwachten een kleine lunch maar kregen een bord voorgezet ten grote van een avond gerecht. Zeker waar voor je geld en daarnaast een uitstekende kwaliteit. Aan te raden!

Tremendous breakfast spot within one minute walk from Kings Cross Station. I can’t say enough about this spot and the people that work there. It has to be the friendliest place in London. We ate there all four days we stayed in London and were never disappointed. They treated us like Royalty and more than that as friends. Loved the food and the people. Don’t miss it!

I've been here twice. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times were fantastic. The service is excellent, the prices are good and the food is lovely. I would definitely recommend this cafe. It does get busy so be prepared to wait at peak times. It's worth it.

It's great to find somewhere round Kings Cross that isn't a chain. This place is much better than any chain coffee shop. The service is so friendly but really efficient, the decaf americano was perfect, with a good crema and flavour, as good as caffeinated!

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast near Kings Cross and I found this place on Trpadvisor and thought that the reviews looked good so thought we would give it a go. I have to be honest if I was walking past this place I would probably not given it a second glance but we went in and I ordered the big breakfast and my partner ordered scrambled egg and they were both excellent, so good in fact we wend back the next day. The service was also excellent and would highly recommend this place.

This seemingly ordinary little cafe near Kings Cross St Pancras is a real gem. We never go to London without having breakfast here before catching our train home to the north. Service is fast and friendly, food is delicious, prices more than reasonable. I love it and can't recommend it highly enough.

I missed breakfast at the hotel so searched on Google for "All day breakfast near Kings X". Don't look any further. Pentonville Road is maybe 100 yards east of Kings X station. There's about 30 seats (inside and out) and it's run by a Husband and Wife team who are super-good. The portions are huge, they do all-day Breakfast and Lunch, the food is tasty and fresh, the place is super-cool/super-clean. If you're in this are, don't look any further. I had the Smashed Advocado Breakfast and added some Sausages and it was wonderful. I will return.

We discovered this cafe a couple of years ago when staying in the area and we loved it so much we return for breakfast every time we have a morning train to catch on the way home. This statement does it a disservice as the rest of the menu looks so varied and interesting that we always want to try something else.

Came across this little café after arriving in London off the overnight sleeper from Scotland - wanting to find somewhere other than the many chains near KX - well, this was a great find! Literally within 2 mins of KX. So much so, we visited 2 mornings in a row! Lovely friendly and attentive staff cooking fresh, plentiful and value for money food - what more do you need? Clearly a popular place and service was fast and efficient. The freshly squeezed orange juice is delicious and served in a very large glass! bacon baguettes were very tasty and big portions. My daughter had 2 great-looking smoothies and my coffee was fresh and strong. Menu was vast and all looked great. Payment by card or cash. Staff were giving people tips on where to visit (and avoid!) - a nice touch. We are coming back to London in Oct and we'll be back here for more!

Lo pasamos fantástico y sándwiches de pollo con una ensalada bacon hermoso. La comida era fresca, sabrosa y abundante. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Popped in for breakfast whilst visiting London with friends. Welcoming and attentive staff in a very friendly environment. Breakfasts were very reasonably priced and the food, especially the sausages and door step crusty toast, were bang on. A non-greasy fry-up breakfast (if it exists!) full of taste. Justo lo que una cafetería tradicional de Londres debe ser. Cálida bienvenida de Charlotte y el mejor desayuno inglés que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Gran ambiente y un montón de clientes habituales de llamar. ¡Fantástico! Se llama de nuevo en nuestro próximo viaje por el "humo".

Este es un pequeño hotel de gestión familiar con café posiblemente la mejor comida en Londres. Cada plato es increíblemente deliciosa, incluso la ensalada ya que la mayoría de liberar en el queso de la boca. Los sándwiches tostados de pan se hacen circular con exactamente la cantidad correcta de crunch con cada y el pudín de carne casero lasaña es para morirse. situated on the same street as macdonalds this gem of a cafe is brilliant , all of the staff are very welcoming and on our most recent visit just this weekend blew the socks off me by knowing exactly what i wanted despite it being over 3 months since our last visit .. now that is what I call customer service and took me back a wee bit!

I was staying around the Kings Cross station area and had been yearning for a great place to enjoy a jacket potato. It was great to know the cafe was just down the road from the station. I ordered the jacket potato with cheese and chili con carne and absolutely loved it! Although the serving was rather big, it was worth every bite. The service was really friendly and humbled. Would definitely love to go back!

La primera cosa que vimos mientras en la cola era el cliente delante diciendo que no quería en su sandwich de huevo que el chico detrás del mostrador tenía accidentalmente. El cliente me dijo que quería un nuevo sandwich y ahora los chicos eran realmente disculpas y dije que sí al instante y le hicieron nuevos.

We come to visit Pompidou each time we come to london. The staff are so welcoming and lovely! Breakfast is top notch and tastes fabulous. We eat in the morning and stay full all day. We will see you next time guys!!! Also we love your Portuguese tarts there the best when we arrive home off the train and have a cuppa tea!!

A really great, friendly little cafe, close to Kings Cross Station, in an otherwise barren ocean of Subways and Costa Coffees. Lovely coffee and a tempting array of paninis etc. with an Italian twist. Highly recommended if you are in the area and need refuelling.

Came here early on Saturday morning before heading to see some sights. The place is small but warm and inviting. The staff are very friendly and polite. Ordered a breakfast and it was fantastic English fair. The coffee was excellent. The price is a bit high but not enough to keep me from coming back.

Pedí el desayuno grande y mi mujer pidió huevos en una tostada. Todo estaba preparado a pedido, lo que hace que sea un poco lento, pero vale la pena.

Hemos desayunado allí, ya que los precios eran buenos en Carta, pedimos dos cafés, una tostada con huevo y jamón York y una baguette de bacon. Según carta tostada 5£ y pico y la baguette no llegaba a 4£. Y la cuenta al final de 22' 15 libras. Aconsejo a los extranjeros no ir a estos sitio donde influye la nacionalidad. No nos facilitaron el ticket ( por algo seria)

My partner and I were looking for a place to eat after our hotel didn't serve breakfasts, we both have different dietary requirements while I always crave bacon, my partner is strictly vegetarian.

As my nearby hotel did not serve breakfast, I looked around for somewhere to eat. There are a lot of chain coffee shops etc, but spotted this small independent cafe. Seating is inside but also outside. I chose an omelette, toast and coffee. It did not take very long to arrive and I really enjoyed it. The cafe was busy with locals and tourists. Prices reasonable. I recommend this place.

Really friendly staff, I think Italian. Not quite a greasy cafe, more continental, but they serve great English breakfasts and lots of other options. A nice change from the chain places round about. Good coffee. A bit pricier than the chains and smaller but guess they have to make a living. Extra for soya. I seemed to be able to log on to a local WiFi. Clean toilet, a rarity!!

Was originally planning to get a McDonald's breakfast at Kings Cross station but had aaa too late and I found the Pompidou Cafe. Only went in for takeaway and the service from all of the staff was very welcoming and genuine. Focaccia I had was delicious and the Mediterranean food on offer looked very inviting and authentic. Coffee was also very good! Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely be giving the huge chain a miss and coming into this delightful independent cafe!
