New Moon Pub in City of London, Westminster

We took a short break here, waiting for the scheduled time to visit The Lookout, located nearby. A very nice bar, located in Leadenhall market. The interior is nicely decorated, friendly staff, good beer, many varieties. You can pay by card. It was not crowded at all at the time of our visit, around 14:00.

Our team of 7 work colleagues enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch at the New Moon. The service was wonderful, the food was also to a very high standard (the Vanilla cheesecake with stem ginger was the best cheesecake I have ever had!), the atmosphere was very nice and it is very well located in the historic Leadenhall Market. Highly recommended.

The Brasserie has a lovely atmosphere, the food was good and service very good also . Felt very Christmassy although it was fairly more than we'd like to have paid for lunch in a pub it was very nice.

Great service in an historic location in the heart of Leadenhall market. Whilst the menu is quite limited, the food is of good quality and very reasonably priced.

We had booked the Brasserie for our team Christmas meal for 45 people! Gucci and the team had been incredibly accommodating, the staff had been so patient and considerate for our needs (especially all food allergies) and any last minute adjustments, considering we were such a large group. The 3 course meal was delicious and went down well with the majority and we enjoyed a few hours in the Cellar Bar after. We all felt so well taken care of and would be keen to book events there in the future.

What a great venue! Staff was so helpful (we messed up our booking da! Still got sorted! Points!) Cool, relaxed and friendly place. Matt (the manager) and his team (we spoked to the guy called Linas) are so lovely and professional. We had snacks too and it was great! Cold beer and wine and warm welcome. All you need! We will be back!

Siempre me ha gustado La Luna Nueva y estaba muy feliz de reunirme con un par de amigos a principios de esta semana para un largo almuerzo después de una ausencia de seis meses. En primer lugar, quedé muy impresionado con el gran trabajo que el personal está haciendo para mantener a las personas seguras durante Covid, promoviendo el distanciamiento social, el seguimiento y la localización y la desinfección de manos. El servicio de mesa fue amable, rápido y eficiente. Lo más impresionante fue el hecho de que, habiéndome quedado sin mi única bebida el día antes de mi Going Sober para octubre (chillido), el gerente organizó que un miembro del personal fuera a su pub hermano para reabastecerse para que nuestro almuerzo continuara hasta la madrugada. noche : ) : ) . They have a really great beer selection and chicken schnitzel, I would recomment to anyone to try. Great atmosfer, I usually prefer there.

Gran selección de cervezas de barril y bebidas no alcohólicas. La comida también es excelente y con el clima invernal acercándose a una variedad de platos sabrosos abundantes para elegir. Se prestó gran atención al distanciamiento social, la desinfección de manos y la señalización clara en todas partes. Un verdadero hallazgo y muy recomendable.

El viernes por la noche fue una de las mejores noches que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Nunca me di cuenta de que la luna nueva tenía un lugar cómodo en la planta baja. Matt nos llevó a través de la increíble selección de cervezas artesanales, ¡antes de sugerir que exploramos la planta baja! Así lo hicimos y luego terminamos quedándonos hasta tarde y comiendo. El nuevo menú tenía una variedad de platos deliciosos y no me puedo quejar de la comida. Ya que trabajamos en la ciudad volveremos más a menudo.

¡Qué hermosa visita! Mi amigo y yo vinimos a tomar algo en su hermosa área exterior y no podríamos habernos sentido más bienvenidos. El personal fue atento y nos sentimos muy seguros con todas las pautas de Covid descritas y el personal con máscaras. ¡El 50% de descuento en comida y refrescos hizo que la noche fuera aún más perfecta! ¡Definitivamente volveremos pronto!

Nice little spot in Leadenhall Market. Only visited for a couple of drinks, but really liked the bar! Will be back with friends, check the downstairs bar out, it’s a great little secret spot in the craziness of Central London!

Popped in on way to somewhere else but did a good job. Loads of different beers , gins & champers. Would be good for sport as they had reasonable tv with good view. Tables outside which are actually under the cover of Leadenhall market so good for any weather.

Great little pub with swift service, great pub favourites and a perfect location. We were fortunate that the weather was sunny, the doors were open and it was the weekend so no doubt very quiet compared to week days.

Went here to have a meet up with some associates. I thought I would come early and do some work and have lunch before my meetup in the same pub. It has two floors, the main floor is where the main bar is located in the famous Leaden Hall and down stairs is where there is a separate bar where it is quieter and there is some extra tables.I decided to have their cheese and egg burger. Plus you can get a drink for an extra £1 or £2 if you want premium drink, when you order a burger.It looked really nice, the burger was good and the fries were rustic style and tasty, loved the little onion ring.The only thing I would improve would be the egg, for me it was not runny enough.I would recommend this pub to anyone, it has a nice ambiance and atmosphere and staff are great, so I would definitely come back here.

Went here for my husbands birthday and they booked a party of 10 of us in and played the Derby match - which I don’t think anyone other than us was interested in!

Used to visit this Pub a few years back when it was on the decline, happy to say there have been some amazing changes! New refurbishments blend well with its location and the staff and service is fantastic. Keep Up the good work!

Since renovation last month, the new moon has become a favourite. Hint: look downstairs. Elias is the best.

The New Moon is not horrific, however it is very similar to most pubs in the area with a similar choice of beers, expensive prices and nice but not stunning decor. This pub doesn't have much space to sit or stand so most people are forced outside. This is not a must visit by any means. As a note this pub does accept American Express.

We visited Leadenhall on a Saturday and not too many restaurants were open. Luckily this one was so we went in for lunch. A typical British pub with average food and friendly service.

Inside Leadenhall market, you can enjoy typical Brit meals, delicious pints and others. Either lunch or dinner- served from Monday to Friday between 11am to 23pm, Saturday from 11am to 17pm, closed on Sundays- an absolutely recommended place to eat. Both atmosphere and service, amazing!

I visited this pub on a recent a business trip to London on recommendations from my business clients, it's a beautiful busy pub with great atmosphere and great range of traditional British Ales, and a good fish and chips, I was very disappointed with the service I received from the Manageress there, a tall Lady with long brown hair who's name is Rita well name on my receipt. Quite rude and arrogant and not at all friendly, which was a shame for such a lovely Public House in the heart of this great City

Sotto consiglio di un'amica siamo andati a mangiare in questo pub. Il ristorante si trova nel piano inferiore. Portatevi una coperta perché d'inverno fa davvero freddo sotto. Non c'era nessuno a cena con noi... E non gli avrei dato una lira appena arrivati. E invece... Il fish and chips più buono che abbia mai mangiato! Consigliatissimo!

Visited the New Moon on my way home from work again, never fails to provide great beer and excellent customer service!

I popped in with a friend for a drink as I was planning on booking a table in January for my over seas clients, 35 of them. But I was left absolutely shocked by the member of staff who served me and my friend at the bar. I believe it was Daniela, short blonde hair & a nose ring. I couldn't have been more lovely if I tried but she wasn't having ANY OF IT. I tried to get her attention by smiling nicely but she just eye rolled me and kept serving other people. When she finally came over after I politely waved, she didn't say a word. Face like thunder and just stared at me with one hand on her hip. I asked for two wines and a bowl of nuts. She shoved down the nuts (the flavour I didn't ask for) I started with "oh sorry but I asked - " nope!! She didn't even want to hear. Already walked off to pour the drinks. A man next to me even said "Oh wow. What's with her"

Love this pub! Great range of beers, awesome staff. I always go there when I'm in the area and I'm never let down!

Mi novio y yo queríamos escapar de la oficina y decidimos pasar un almuerzo rápido aquí. El lugar no estaba lleno. Pero el servicio era muy amable. Es lamentable que muchos de los elementos en el menú no estaban disponibles. Sin embargo mi novio realmente disfrutamos de su bocadillo de pollo y patatas fritas. No es nada especial, pero fue perfecto para nuestro pequeño fecha del almuerzo.

Decent London pub at the edge of Leadenhall Market. Great place to enjoy a pint if the weather is not so good, too.

After doing some shopping in Leadenhall Market, my wife and I stopped in for a quick pint. The place was filled with locals, mostly standing at the high-top tables outside. The bartender was very friendly and was quick to recommend a local brew. I went with the High and Dry Lager, while my wife enjoyed a Mortimer's Cider. The prices were very reasonable as well. A great spot for an afternoon drink.

Bought a pint with cash. Used a fiver that I received from them in change to buy a second pint and was told they don't accept old fivers anymore.

I feel compelled to write a poor review on this pub having gone to meet some friends last night. To start with, it's expensive (£6 a for a half-decent pint) and silly money for a spirit. I suppose you could swallow the cost (pun intended) if it was a decent boozer, but the staff were pretty rude. I suspect that was because they were worked off their feet and had to deal with drunk bankers. But still, you expect a level of courtesy, right?And the toilets.... O... M.... G... I'm fairly sure I could have dug a more appealing latrine for the mens. The only thing this place has going for it is its location. I doubt they give two hoots about reviews on here, as it's so well situated in the impressive Leadenhall Market. Personally, I'd reccomend The Lamb a bit further up. Unfortunately, every one else knows this so it's more rammed than The New Moon. Ho hum.

Unremarkable boozer in the remarkable market. Patrons tend to spill out into the covered market, which is OK in summer, but can leave the bar a bit cold on a quiet day in winter. Service is OK but I got plastic glasses despite having a table inside. 11 quid for a couple of average beers in placcy glasses in a chilly, average city watering hole seems over the top to me, maybe I'm getting old.

Fairly busy when I arrived. Not much seating available. Found a spot at the bar. Just had one pint as I was solo and on my way home. Service was ok and prices reasonable for the city. But if you want to sit, you need to get there early.

This was crowded even in the middle of the day! I'll bet it's standing room only with the after-work crowd! Drinks had to be ordered at the bar and taken to wherever you could find a place to stand. No food ordered, but this was a fun atmosphere to - literally - rub elbows with others. Mostly 20-somethings, so if you're looking to hang with the cool people, this place is it!

Por fin probamos unas "fish and chips" decentes, el bacalao dorado, hecho de una pieza y acompañado por patatas fritas caseras y salsa tártara. También fueron muy buenos los nachos, crujientes y acompañados de guacamole, sour cream y chile fresco. Como tardaron mucho en servirnos, y aunque nos lo habían advertido, nos invitaron a otra ronda de bebidas.

This place is huge, but with plenty of staff, so no waiting. poor quality food, but good selection of beers.

This is one of three old pubs in the market and it does a booming trade late afternoon with all the business people standing around talking and drinking. It has atmosphere and is good fun.

La ubicación de este pub es perfecta, dentro del antiguo mercado de Leadenhall, de obligada visita para todos los visitantes. Es un sitio para ir entre semana, sobre todo por la tarde-noche a tomar unas cervezas y picar algo. In essence a great pub, great atmosphere and in an Victorian style arcade so its undercover if you stand outside - Lots of City types though and £4.50 a pint.......Ate at the Pizzeria a few doors down.

The New Moon Pub is a short walk from Monument Station. Attended for a private function in the basement. Very cozy relaxing Pub. The toilets were a let down and needed monitoring and attention as well as ventilation. A pint is over the £5 mark and they have a typical pub menu.

It's quite a small bar. The drinkers spill out onto the market street outside from opening time. Gets packed most nights (its seems to be one crowd outside in Leadenhall Market between the New Moon & the Lamb). Thursday & Fridays it can be a real fight to get to the bar. The New Moon isn't bad but as everyone's taste in bars is a personal thing there are others in the area I prefer to drink in. Decent range of beers and the service is OK but can get swamped by the sheer number of people ordering drinks on a Friday night.

Okay atmosphere, okay food, okay value for money. Very pleasant waitress, don,t think I would revisit next time I am in London though!

This is a lovely please and great spot to meet with friends and have a catch up over a drink and some nice pub food, plenty if space inside and out. Although it can get very busy at times as it is a popular place to grab a drink after work. Some nice traditional features in and around the pub and good spot to get around London city.

This pub is located in the historic Leadenhall Market, an Architectural gem. It is very busy with city workers at midweek lunchtimes and early evenings. Good range of real ale and food offerings. City prices.

Great place to go after work for meeting fiends/colleagues but this place is extremely busy and the wait at the bar can be lengthy. We stood outside as we were a large group. We were able to mingle with others outside other nearby bars also. It was nice as the sun was shining and it was warm

Ordered a starter selection for lunch. First couple of bits served then waited 20 mins for plates to eat off, still waiting for half the order to arrive. Another 15 minutes pass before we ask for a full refund and leave, absolutely shocked at the terrible kitchen service.

This could quite possibly be the worst experience I have ever had…EVER!Where to start? Service was the rudest and most unpleasant Ive come across in a very long time. The landlord/manager was a belligerent and unpleasant individual who knew not the first thing about service. As the pub was busy and the staff had no desire to acknowledge anyone waiting to be served, I held up my money to indicate I was waiting. This surly unpleasant man berated me for pointing out that I was waiting… having then been served he forgot to give me my change and complained to a colleague under his breadth that I had asked for my change….The next thing is the toilets. This can't be accurately described other than to say that they should have been closed to customers until an emergency plumber could be called to fix what can only be described as an appallingly unhygienic situation. I mentioned to a bar staff that the toilets were a disgrace and the response was ' nuffing to do wiv me guvna" Disgusting hygiene and incredibly rude staff. don't go there !

Leadenhall Market is one of the gems of The City; sadly no longer a market but a fabulous building. This pub gets very busy and is nothing special but there is plenty of space outside and you won't get wet thanks to the roof. Smoking is still possible and as there is plenty of fresh air and open space, it would be churlish for the Corporation of a London to be heavy handed about it.

Insurance and Banking city types usually keep this one rammed most lunch times and nights, especially Thursday and Friday. The pub has a good long bar with some seating but mostly this is a stand up pub that always spills outside into the covered Leadenhall Market regardless of the weather and temperature. The pub is Greene King, which is my least favourite Ale company but they do keep the Ales well and the London Glory is often very good as is the Morland. Staff seem to keep up with the orders well so even if the bar seems busy you do seem to get served in reasonable time.

This is a true english pub with great atmosphere and drinks selection and can stand and enjoy the surroundings under the cover of Leadenhall market

Thursday evening drinks, lovely to stand outside and feel the atmosphere but the larger was flat and dead. Fosters and Becks avoid , I noticed people were drinking Guinness so I guess that must be good. Large glass of wine costs under £8 pound. Stopped for one and moved on.....

Like the episode of friends when Richard Branson starred as a seller of British memorabilia to visiting tourists the New Moon parodies real pubs. One other reviewer states positively that all the other pubs were 'rammed but the entire lower floor of the New Moon was empty'. What? That's a good thing? Pubs are empty because they are bad, expensive or serve bad beer and so being empty is a like a barometer reading 'stormy'!Attitude from the bar staff. Attitude from badly kept beer and a mortgage required for 2 small glasses of Pimms.Its June and the sun is shining and every profiteering pub in London is selling Pimms at £6 a glass.If you dont like beer or crowded pubs with atmosphere and friendly staff then you should visit the New Moon

I stopped in to the New Moon Pub for a quick Pint and to check out the atmosphere. I opted for a half pint of the Rocking Rudolph. It was after Christmas and I thought what the heck. Not to bad of a beer. The atmosphere was great and I enjoyed the people watching. I didn't try the food but the group of people sitting on either side of me seemed to be enjoying their food. This was one of the nicer pubs I went to on my two day London Pub trek.

We meet up with a group of people here and the atmosphere was great for just grabbing a drink and hanging out. The bar staff was very nice and the street out front was closed so you can hang out in the street if you want
