New Mayflower Chinese Takeaway in North Tyneside

Its shame about this takeaway, the food is great, trust me its really good.............however.........delivery is a proper mike take. its a Tuesday night so not exactly a busy night and I'm sitting here 1.5 hours later waiting for my food delivery. This happens every single time I order. I'm now about to phone them and the exact excuse I will get is "sorry for the delay, its currently with the driver". Then the food arrives about 15 minutes later. I will order again but next time when it late I'm going to phone from sitting outside the shop and I can guarantee that the next deliver driver out the door will be going to my house with my deliver. do better mayflower. edit: food finally turned up 2hours later. I've never had a delivery within the stated 30-60 minutes

order for 6.45pm and as am writing this still not received it even phoned the shop to be told it's on its way that was about 20min ago I only live 5 min, really really disappointed in it requested a refund going find somewhere else not happy at all, surely mid week it shouldn't be that busy, get you fingers out.

Food tasted lovely but it arrived 2 hours after I ordered it which was really disappointing and puts me off ordering again.

Incorrect order food still here to collect apparently chef has only made that meal once tonight but didn't state what that meal was as was wrong. Staff lie and say they have rang 3 times when they haven't when you call them back just rude. Won't be back

Shockingly bad service. We get food from them every week but tonight it was over 2hours 20 minutes to come and when we chased first time told had just left then sevond time 30 mins later told they deffo left 30 mins ago then after 2 hours 20 mins told they would be with us in 10. Eventually turned up exactly 2 hours and 20 mins late. Questioned driver if the food was cold as told he was delivering 30 mins ago, to which he said he left 5 mins ago. Load of waffle and exvues.. disappointing

Received the wrong chow mien and no spring rolls and chicken balls in my large munchie box and no spring rolls in my two small munchie boxes

The food was so late. I called the restaurant at 20:37 (27 mins after the latest estimated delivery time) and was told they’d send it out… despite the fact it was marked as delivered “enjoy your food”. Then waited over another 40 mins for it to arriv

Substituted my 7 yo’s chicken rice with a hot n spicy chicken curry containing far too many onions, no other veg. And without any rice to go with it. Marking 1 because substitutions are not acceptable. This was in the sealed bag of the complete order it wasn’t a separate item that the driver delivered by mistake

First time I have ordered a takeaway meal from here tonight and it was absolutely beautiful!! It was delivered in the time stated, and was piping hot.well done and will definitely use again !

Mayflower Chinese getting worse everytime I order online. Food is never ready for the time it asks you to choose on their website. Third time now this has happened. Time to look somewhere else I think

Usually love the food, but tonight the food wasn't as good. The food seemed very over salted, especially the chow mein it was inedible as it was so salty.

Really enjoyed this order. Good portion sizes, and everything tasted great. Noted that they don’t just throw a ton of salt into the dishes and you can actually taste the food. Will definitely order again. Ordered ribs, peking beef, king prawns with ginger and spring onion, and beef in black bean.

got singapore fried rice, lovely, its was a take away but ate inside as there was a table and seat so i sat in. greeted the lass on the counter in mandarin.

My default settings are for delivery. I ordered my food and a while later got a notification to say ready for collection. I called and was told it was my fault and that if I cancelled the order it would not be refunded. Drove to collect and the staff were rude saying it’s my own fault. One of the drivers told me they change the delivery to collection frequently. Food was substandard, customer service was atrocious, will not be going back. Beware of this takeaway people.

Best Chinese in the area, great portion sizes, competitive prices, lovely lass behind the counter and the quality of the meat is way better than other locals like new horizon.

Well after the absolute surprise that I could order online, I have to say, the speed in which our meal was delivered was second to none however, we ordered a house special chow mein and we literally had one prawn, one piece of beef and one piece of chicken. I am disappointed to say the least. I won’t be going back, online or not.

Placed my order over the phone at 6.10pm for collection in person and was advised 20 minutes so I turned up at 6.30pm and was told that it would be a few more minutes. At 6.50pm there didn't seem to be any orders coming out and there were lots of customers waiting. A trickle of orders began at 7pm, mainly deliveries, so I decided to wait a few more minutes. At 10 past 7 I asked for an estimated time for my order and was told that mine would be next one out. Three orders later, none of them mine, I left at 7.30PM a full 60 minutes after the time I was initially told. I won't be going back. I was, however, offered a can of coke.

Driver arrived without our food???? When it did eventually arrive the wrong food was delivered and was cold! To really help a vegetarian dish was delivered as mixed meat. They did send another dish but the food went directly to the bin as damage done. Save your money or go elsewhere, we certainly won't use them again. Poor! The only positive from here was the driver tried hard & the girl on the phone was great but unfortunately they didn't cook the food.

Really impressed! We've been going to the same Chinese takeaway for years before we decided to try here because of a leaflet we got through the door, and we've converted! Good selection of food and has always been really tasty and well priced!

Food over an hour late and restaurant phone permanently engaged. Can't review food as not arrived.

Altho the food was lovely when it eventually arrived, it was ridiculously late!! Placed the order at 5.50, for delivery at 7.30...... it eventually arrived at 8.40,!!!! When trying to contact the restaurant, the line was permanently engaged.... If they can't cope, they shouldn't take as many orders..... They also refused any money back.....

Dissapointed, why ask what time you'd like it to be delivered then ignore it!!? It doesn't help when you ring the restaurant and they tell you 5 mins.....not the case. We waited an hour over the delivery time! Makes you wonder how long my food was in the container, warm Chinese food is not the one!! If you want your food on time please avoid at all costs. Fed up and seriously peed off!

THE BEST CHINESE TAKEAWAY! absolutely in love with this place, first time trying definitely won’t be the last. Food was hot and fresh and tasted absolutely incredible. Not only was it great food but it was delivered so quickly it was 25 minutes earlier than expected. Very happy with the entire experience.

I ordered the large box meal which was huge, it was piping hot & very tasty. It was definitely the best one I've eaten yet, as sometimes they're too salty, this was perfect . There was also fresh onions, peppers & garlic in which I like & you don't always get. I'd order this again.

OK, the order was late, so I called the store.The driver apparently had a tyre issue but was en route... 30min later it arrives soup is hot but noodles and chicken can only at best be described a warm! Don't know what's happened since I ordered earlier in year but I'm disappointed tonight!

Driver was horrible towards me

I ordered a delivery tonight and I'll be honest wasn't holding my breath as of other experiences from other chinese in Cramlington! Well I am a happy bunny as all of it was delicious and hot! I haven't been feeling well and I only ordered simple chinese food but to me if you can't cook those you can't cook any! So massive thumbs up from me and looking forward to the next! Thank you for cheering me up ☺
