New Marina Fishbar in Coventry

My go to Chippy and I have always enjoyed what is a value for money quick lunch/dinner. They are a cash only establishment and if you have no cash to hand you can visit the cash point a few doors down at the post office. Local parking can be a nightmare at times.

I live locally and the owner of this place should be ashamed of himself allowing such poor standards of food to be allowed to be served your a local important business do better how about a reply with your thoughts

Have used marina for many many years , always been very satisfied , until my last 2 visits , last time the chips I got were very tiny scraps , not one full sized chip , the doner kebab meat was very dry , threw 80% away . On the look out for a new chippy in Coundon

Terrible food and service. The guy serving was wearing air pods and I had to repeat myself several times. It seemed like he was annoyed that I was there to buy from his store. He overcharged me which I realised after I'd paid but with the level of service I wasn't bothering arguing about a couple of quid. Food was overly greasy, like dripping in the stuff and just bland. Also cash only?? One of the only places I know that doesn't do card.

Really gone down hill chips are awful . Rude staff and cash only is ridiculous.

I ordered my food watched a very rude bloke take my food out the back and spit in it and bring it back out to me please avoid this place at all cost

Called in with my order on 3 Seperate occasions, made them aware I was arriving in a taxi that was my reason for the telephone order. To arrive and it not be done. And be told I'll do it soon! No rush no care in the world.They don't listen to there customers (there's loads others who I know.say the same thing) then they laugh and think it's funny. Poor customer service

Tried one of their lunchtime specials recently, dry chicken pie and chips most likely reheated from the previous day. Definitely won't be visiting again.

New owners. Mid week fish and chips. Not bad. Enjoyed, fresh decent cooked fish. Take away will aways be seen as a takeaway. Fresh cooked. Will return, cash only.

Once again food is cold. Delivered or collected cold. Never again

Went in to order -they say will only take cash - I said you use do cashless - cash only so that you can fiddle your taxes ? DISHONEST !!!! AVOID - chips were always soggy

Ordered food from here a few times now the food is vile greasy uncooked 2nd rate that's even if they deliver twice my order didn't turn up and had to get a refund never order from here is my recommendation

Probably the worst chip shop in Coventry Ordered large fish and chips yesterday evening. Greasy fish which was 60% batter and the chips were Greasy and under cooked aswell Never using this one again

Terrible service, horrible food, the worst I've ever had

Used to be a great local chippy but prices gone up but seem to get less, the fish is mostly batter and some staff seem to not be bothered about good service. Real shame how it's gone downhill

Could easily be the best chippy in Coventry. Been going for years, never once been disappointed. Food always hot and fresh. Great staff, always very busy and you might queue and that says it all really.

Spent £24 on an order including £6.80 on a large fish. When the fish was put on the counter I could see it was dry and asked for a fresher piece but the lad serving insisted it was fresh. Got home and guess what it was dry and over cooked. Probably sat in the hot plate for a couple of hours. £6.80 on an inedible piece of fish. Yeah thanks

My local chippy, great if you go in but online is literally double the price and turns up cold. I’m half a mile away so no excuses really. Sometimes they deliver at it’s hot. I’m assuming they deliver more than one delivery at at time so it’s pot luck where you are in the delivery schedule, not really on considering your paying a premium to have it delivered in the first place. Spending £40 to get cold fish & chips is a waste of money and I won’t be ordering online again.

Always lovely food and great service

This Chippy is very popular , you would be lucky to get in on a Friday evening without queuing up outside. Nice fresh food. The also do a nice big veggie spring roll.

Nice chippy, with friendly staff and loads of options. It is popular there are many busy periods. Nice food and large portions. Reasonable prices. Not much parking available.

Fish smelt funny the batter was really thick and far too much and the amount of grease was awful.

Well been twice since the so call take over .. .Ordered fresh fish and chips .Just cooking they said .Great I said got home to find oil or fat dripping of the fish Chips over cooked ..Young lad doing the cooking learning the trade ..?.I come for a chat no problem..You owe me $$$$

Food was drenched in grease same as the fish that was ordered after waiting 15 minutes, food went in the bin wouldn’t recommend, staff come across rude & not interested in being there wouldn’t go there again.

The fish was awful batter very dry and hardly any fish inside. What fish there was was dry. Will not recommend. Embarrassing.

Ordered basic fish and chips for 4. Took 2 hrs to arrive. When it did was cold. Tried calling but no answer on any of the 15 plus attempts. Will not use these again. Complete waste of time.

I would give 0 stars given the option , all of the food was as dry as a bone except for the donor meat which was swimming in grease will never eat here again or waste my money I’m disgusted food can even be served of this standard please think twice before wasting your money and time here

Unfriendly staff, not arsed at all and this shows in their food. The chips are dry and the fish is soggy batter with hardly any fish. I wouldn't recommend.

I have never been so insulted in a shop before! I was ahead of another customer but the customer behind me was served (ignoring me in the queue). When I voiced my concern I was laughed at by fishbar server staff, and verbally abused by the other customer. Even worse, when the other customer had been served (a mountain of chips) I was told I would have to wait for more chips to be cooked as the other customer had bought the last ones available. So bad customer service you couldn't make it up.

Decent food at a very reasonable price I'd definitely use them again.

Don’t order on just eat , £3.50 delivery charge plus 50p service charge , portion size is definitely smaller when you order on line , food was Luke warm , and prices are a tad high, also was ill the following day after eating the chicken.

This chip shop was by far the best in the area, ordered pasty and chips tonight, unbelievable!!! Dried up & rock hard, gone down hill avoid, avoid. Obviously under new management. Food is awe full.

Good food and service by pleasant ladies

Speedy service, great menu. Only downside was our fish was dry and overcooked, more batter than fish as it was a very thin fillet. The rest of the meal was perfect.

I have to say I was pleasantly impressed with my food yesterday. Donner batch with all meats and a jumbo sausage. Will be going to the New Marina again. Keep up the good work.

Food was missing items, customer service was appalling attitude. I'v been reading some comments on just eat and the response from the marina Fish Bar are disgusting and very rude! Clearly can not take bad comments and don't seem to think they in the wrong for anything. Couple of comments state how rude they was and unprofessional which the reposes have just confirmed this! Will not be ordering from here

Great portions and reasonable prices. Fish is white with a cripy batter. Service is great and I recommend it as one of the best chip shops in the area.

I bought a tray of kebab meat from this place on Mon 22/12/20 it made me violently sick. And I had to call an ambulance!! When I rang to tell the shop the assistant hung up the phone on me! Dreadful service!

Been going here for 20 years. Always great food. The odd occasion chips could be cooked a bit longer (personal preference) but always plenty of food. I used to order normal fish and chips but they are too much now. Mini fish and a cone of chips is plenty. To all those complaining about quality of food when being delivered, well this sort of food is never going to travel well. Wrapping up fish and chips and putting them in a plastic bag for half an hour is never going to work! Go and buy them fresh and have a cracking meal.

The worst Chippy I have ever ordered from! Things didn't start too great when our order was 30minutes late, which got worse when the place didn't answer their phone (what's the point in having a phone number if you don't answer!...) At the point when we received our food, comes the only positive feedback (NOTE: Just Eat delivered) where the delivery guy was quite pleasant and apologised for the delay. After opening the takeaway bag we realised that most of the contents was spilt out of the containers which then ended up on our living room floor. Never the less, we just hoped the food would at least taste good and this inconvenience would be worth it!....Well we was wrong....instead what we actually had was the greaseiest fish and most undercooked chips we have ever had. So yes, i very disappointing result of our chippy takeout. I would not even expect my dog go eat this stuff they have the cheek to call "food"...

Fantastic chips and excellent staff.

Staff were not wearing masks and customers were not wearing masks! Staff friends/relatives were stood in the doorway chatting this blocking exit! As for the food well.. Greasy chips that were tasteless aside from grease and were not even hot! Would I return? No! Come on guys you used to be great!

Been going here for as long as I can remember, it's mine and momma's favorite chippy in Coundon for sure! Chips always on point.

What a meal. Ordered all 3 meats in a tray with chips. Brilliant portion size (was a real challenge to finish), tasty food, good quality, and good friendly service. Will definitely be back.

Asked for no sauce and salad with kebab pitta's yet they came with both on them and the tandoori chicken tasted rubbery and was very fatty

Just had fish and chips delivered via Just Eat. Delivery was slow, over an hour, but food worth waiting for. Lovely.

Quality and quantity of food is second to none and the owners and staff are always polite.

By far the best chip shop in Coundon, Radford or Keresley. Staff polite and friendly. Prices Excellent. Food quality is excellent.

Been 2 years since we last visited... Their large chips (£3) was a lot smaller than any other chippie, I wish I was watching. However the cod was still good hence 3 stars, hopefully it was a one off.
