New Mandarin in Castle Point

Never tried New Manderin before have seen other reviews , some really damming but we thought we would give them a chance ! Big mistake we ordered set meal for one which was sweet sour chicken , egg fried rice and chicken chop suey . The suey was bland and tasteless, the rice omg , terrible ! ...my wife had sweet sour chicken and egg fried rice, the rice again terrible!. Meal for one cost over £ 13.00 and sweet and sour chicken £12.00 ish! ,may aswell chucked money down drain .

The new manderin is my go to place for Chinese takeaway.Having had food from most on the island,they are a no brainer.....number one choice. The food is delivered at a time they say ,always delivered hot and the delivery staff are excellent. Very very happy to order from the new manderin knowing I always get good ,tasty,hot fresh food. Well done to everyone there.

Had a takeaway tonight chow mien , ribs , chips , curry sauce . Very good had to wait 1 hour but worth the wait . Very busy .

Always pick up as I live 5 minutes love the large option on a lot of the foods the food is always tasty and fantastic value never had a problem

Ordered here the other day and the food that turnt up I wouldnt even serve to my worst enemy. Shame because been coming here for years now and the quality of the food is awful not what it used to be greasy and horrible. Suppose to be receiving a refund but suprise suprise this has not come and rather then deal with our complaint they told us 'we didnt give the food to you like that' which is ridiculous to suggest we had done it ourselves, they have taken no responsibility for there poor food and service and have blacklisted our house so we can't ever order again (not that we ever will again).

We used to use here all the time but after poor slow service & poor food we have changed to the Village...deliveries sometimes take hours without notification...food over cooked & way too salty after mentioing they dont seem to care...shame as used to be good.

Wow. This is a good Chinese. Found a better one. Not sure if it a coincidence that my fave Indian is here to. But this is great. Fresh flavoursome and good amount of meat in the dishes. Not just made up with onions or sauce. The delivery lad was a bit miserable. But then again I would be if I had to smell this food all night and. It eat any myself. Defo defo defo be using this take away now. Yummy

Nice food, we particularly like the king prawns chili/salt and the crispy shredded chicken. The ribs are always a favourite also. Always piping hot.

He estado yendo aquí por muchos años desde que estaba en la escuela secundaria, mis amigos madre dueño de este lugar y para mí y mi mamá tienen religiosamente venir aquí y no ir a ningún otro chino. La comida es siempre tan delicioso y siempre tan rápido! El mejor restaurante Chino en la isla de lejos.

We moved to Canvey Island during June 2015. We could not find a descent Chinese Take away.......We checked Trip Adviser and found reviews from 2014. I drove there, placed my order and got home.....Well, on serving the food it was very aromatic, hot and plentiful. None of the normal fillers that most Chinese takeaway use. The garlic king prawn was the best I have ever tatsed. Again, no fillers were used as in loads of beans sprouts. I can highly recommend this take out.

Ordered here, after trying a few other Take away's, It was absolutely delicious, and excellant value for money, I opted for a set meal as I was spoilt for choice, and it was delivered quickly with no fuss or extra charges. Served by polite well spoken English speaking staff. Thanks.

The staff was extremely patient and polite considering I did not have a menu when I came to visit the island for a weekend break, the starter combo and the mains was hot and delicious and delivered fast to the holiday caravan site.

Great menu, all the usual and more, always well cooked and very tasty. Free delivery which saves a lot of mucking about. Regular choice for takeaway.
