We absolutely love this Chinese takeaway, the food is amazing and really good value for money, highly recommended duck chow mein and chicken curry. We are from out the area and really enjoy this food.

Very unhappy customer been coming here for 3 years always amazing food. Apart from last night's chicken balls myself and my daughter's boyfriend had the chickenballs and both are feeling very poorly since early hours of the morning. So i thought i would call as i did not want to write this but the rude lady i spoke to didnt want to no and then put the phone down on me. Sorry bad review you jade places has got. We will be going else where so you have just lost a good customer. And I will be telling people about my experience with you.

Horrendous! Food was from previous day. When we phoned them their service was appauling! You'd have to pay me to eat here again. Very disappointed

Honestly not a big lover of chinese, every now and then. I ordered from here and then after ordering looked at the reviews… seen some mixed reviews and was very skeptical. But honestly the best chinese food i’ve had in a long time, food was so lovely i cleared a plate. Will definitely be ordering again!

Been ordering regularly from here for a while - food is pretty OK (not the best but I've no complaints). The delivery service is pretty reliable and we've never had any problems.

I have alot of food and have never had a problem

On the 5/1/24 I ordered from here and got terrible food poisoning. After 3 days of extreme vomiting and diarrhea I went to the doctors and they confirmed I had Campylobacter and this was the only source it could have come from. Avoid this place like the plague.

Easily the worst Chinese food ive ever eaten. Rice was off, Chicken was , well, the chicken could have been anything. The shop it sent is a dump, poor fish dying in fish and and food everywhere. Go to Peking Gourmet just up the road, easily the best Chinese in Woolston. EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN PERIL

No hygiene rating (or hygiene standards at all)

All i can say is if you want extra protein, be sure to come here! (Maggots and mold on the chicken to say the least)

Absolutely appalling! Never ordering anything from here someone I know has received maggots and mould in their chicken. And they refused to refund it and refused to let her speak to the manager. This place needs to be shut down.

Would rate a 0 is I could !!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM NEW JADE PALACE!!!!!! I’m not normally one to post bad reviews, but when your Chinese comes after waiting one hour with mould and maggots in whilst pregnant is not on. I phoned them up to ask for a refund and kept the food so they could see. to be told we don’t care we are not giving you your money back and for the manager, not to even speak to us over the phone. absolutely disgusting noticed on just eat. Their food. Hygiene rating hasn’t been updated since 2019 when it’s legal to be updated every three years.  then thought I’d go on the Gov food hygiene to realise that there’s not even a hygiene rating linked to this business and address . absolutely appallingly!!!!!! Just hope me and baby are all okay, considering I had a few mouthfuls before realising 😭😔😡

Last time I ordered over the phone, I was interrogated about my age? I’m a 25 year old female. I was made to feel like a child, the guy was so terribly patronising questioning every dish I ordered - it put me off ordering. If you want to keep your customers, give them the basic level of respect.

Best Chinese takeaway in Southampton. Me and my family always order food from here on special occasions and we are always so happy with the food. It’s our favourite place and the staff even threw in some prawn crackers for free last night which was a lovely gesture :)

Told delivery would be 30-40 mins it was almost an hour and a half. The smoked chicken was bland and inedible, the 1/4 duck was creasy and the wraps really wet. We ordered 3 dishes and the total was over £27. Absolute rip off

Luke warm food , spring rolls were poor , food young bland , wouldn't order here again. Plus overpriced for quality of food.

Absolutely shocking food! Ordered here looking forward to it after seeing good reviews but couldn’t be more wrong! Egg fried rice was hard, spicy chow mien was like it had been cooked in sea water it was that salty ( I like salt but) chicken Hong Kong style was tasteless! Sea spicy beef smelt like a tramps trousers and I think the veg was rotten or the soggy beef was off? Chicken curry was dry with very little sauce? I did contact the restaurant and was told I could have a refund if I took the food back (I got it delivered) as they have no drivers to drop money off? (If I placed another order they’d deliver) I love a Chinese and I know how it should taste but this was beyond bad! Even when complaining the fella on the phone was laughing like I was making it up?? I actually said “I called to say food wasn’t good I’m not after my money back” but after his attitude I then wanted my money back! The chips were the only thing that was enjoyable…….ish This isn’t a malicious review it’s exactly how it was and I’m gutted it was bad as I was looking forward to it!!! Avoid this place and get a microwave curry from Lidl instead it’s the safer option POOR POOR POOR!!!

We moved away outside of the deliver area and travel to this Chinese because it’s the best one in Southampton!

We heard about the high reviews but always forgot to order. Yesterday we did, OMG. All my previous Chinese takeaways were rubbish. The flavour, taste etc were 1st class. I would highly recommend New Jade Palace for your takeaway.

Ordered through Just Eat who were fab. Arrived quick too. Unfortunately the food was very below par. Satay Chicken was very wishy washy and bland. Not even sure it was chicken!! Prawn toast was over fried. Won't be ordering from here again.

Food was OK… sweet and sour definitely lacking in flavour and a bit watery. Vegetable chow mien may as well be a plain chow mein because it was mostly onions and noodles… probably wouldn’t order again. Very quick delivery though which was good.

Ordered via Deliveroo where reviews seem a little higher. Should have come here 1st! Driver battered our order around, which meant the contents were squashed and leaked all over the inside of the bag, spoiling the rest of our order. We managed to salvage 2 of the special fried rice, which was the most tasteless fried rice WE'VE EVER HAD! Absolutely horrible! The sweet chilli udon stir fry was ok. But very much tasted like some cheap dipping sauce from Lidl had been chucked in and mushed around. Will definitely NEVER order from here again! Thankfully Deliveroo had refunded my money!

We've been regular customers for a few years, tonight's order took well over an hour, was missing items & when we phoned, the man was very rude & although he offered a credit we wanted our food, who knows when that will turn up! If we took a credit which we've done in the past - be warned you can never get it, they must make hundreds by doing this!!

Really bad service, item missing again, offered a CREDIT again, but never actually get a credit. Then guy said theyd send missing item but almost finished what turned up and still no delivery of missing items. Guy was so rude when we phoned to ask if they could send the missing items, I'm going to guess he thinks he has got one over on us by delaying delivering the ordered items but wondering how much extra this place makes each weekend by short delivering customers, it went down hill a few years ago, but thought that owner had left when all of his custom stopped but it would seem they are still just as arrogant.

A great take away with a wide range of dishes that must be one of the best in the area. Really impressed with the good service, freshly cooked food and how quickly they can do it. Been using them 6 or 7 years now and never had a problem.

This was our first takeaway from here, as our local one isn’t up to scratch! The lemon chicken and my favourite Kung Po King Prawn was absolutely delicious! Really happy we have a fantastic Chinese takeaway up the toad from us! Thank you 😊

I never leave a review with any takeaway, but this place deserves a 5 star! Lewis Hamilton delivered my food or they came and cooked it in my front drive. The food is piping hot! Even the side order of chips that I never normally give the time of day, crunchy and hot. May just be a one off but will definitely order again to see.

There are a lot of chinese places where the food feels overly greasy and too reliant on MSG. New Jade Palace's food was great and I loved every bite, the delivery was super fast as well. Will be making it the go to for Chinese.

I felt like a change of takeaway provider... I was not disappointed. Our meal arrived within 40 mins. Half an hour before it was due. How fabulous is that?... Now, I had chicken chow mien for the first time, as I could not find Singapore fried rice & LOVED it. The Kung Pao chicken was the BEST ever! Even the delivery guy was really awesome. You guys rock, and I will be using you again, soon as it is treat night :D

Been eating here for more years than I care to remember, ye every takeaway has its off days but they are few and far between at NJP in my opinion. No complaints food tastes good , service always good , delivery times and drivers nearly always spot on or early. Daughter loves Chinese food and wouldn’t have her Chicken Wings in BBQ sauce from anywhere else.

Not good, I haven't been in for many years, and after this meal I think I know why. It was edible however only just, burnt in places, swimming in grease in others. I should have stuck to what I know. Sort of went hungry this night. Sorry. this may seem unfair but will not be back.

Ordered over an 2 hours ago and was told my delivery would arrive within the hour, still no delivery received! Every time I try to call the restaurant I get told the line is busy. If I could rate 0 I would and I haven't even got the food yet!

Just resived our order chicken balls were sold and curry undercooked they said their was nothing they can do. And said it would be the same if they sent out another lot out as they have been cooking all night

Our food was finally delivered by an extremely rude delivery driver. Delivery wasn't what I ordered. The food tasted microwaved! Myself and my family have used New Jade Palace for years. We wont be using them again

When ordering Chinese food I do expect it to taste like freshly cooked wholesome food not the frozen mess that I ordered for my family tonight. The freshest thing I got was the bean sprouts. My daughter is poorly and just wanted chicken and sweet corn soup which was bland and no flavour at all. My partner just out of hospital just wanted special fried rice we got boiled rice in gravy with a few bits of meat. I ordered special chow mien and a mix of duck chicken and pork. The chicken and pork are prepacked frozen and so is the duck. All the meat is dry and tasteless and there was no veg in the dishes except one piece of green pepper. I will not be ordering from here again!

Was the most disgusting food I've ever attempted to eat, prawns were hard, chicken was in cubes, pork was also cubed and completely tasteless. Unfortunately food was subsequently binned as no one could stomach more than a few bites. The meat and flavours were revolting.

Absolute disgrace.. Wrong order, bad customer service, refused to sort out the order they had got wrong and refused a refund after we asked to return unedible food...don't normally complain but shocked that this was so bad. The one star was only given as otherwise I couldn't review

It has been around 10 years since we ordered from here, it is obviously under new management. The food was tasteless and the meat processed. One dish ordered was mixed chop suey which tasted and looked more like sweet and sour chicken. We would not use this takeaway again, very dissapointing.
