New Hung Wai in Edinburgh, City of

Sick of this place. I never use to have a problem ordering from them now every time I do they take the order and half an hour later cancel it. They are an average Chinese at best not worth being messed around by.

The quality of the food poorly also i not complaining person but the prawns was just 5 prawns and a kilo of onions the same with the beef was a joke I’ve not beef

Just had a breast chicken curry for first time real slices of chicken fresh and delicious best curry I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this Chinese

Delivery driver was lovely. Food was hot and tasty. I would order again.

Two and a half hours later we are still waiting and they marked they delivery as on its way and then delivered. We called them and they said they were only starting to make it. 2.5 hours after we ordered.

Too slow and the order was wrong

Food was the cheapest in the area but it was only ok. The beef chow mein had a lot of sort of BBQ sauce, I think through it which was a bit salty. Never experienced that before and I prefer to add as little or as much sauce as I like. I requested all sauce separate which was ignored so my daughter wouldn't eat it.

Disgusting Chinese. All food went in the bin after a mouthful of each. AVOID!!

The meal was very good, perhaps not as hot as it could have been, but really enjoyed the beef with green peppers in black bean sauce.

I gave a crackin review for my last order. But I’m sure my pork was off this time. It didn’t taste like char Sui I’ve ever had. And I’m a huge fan of black bean sauce so that’s not to blame. I’ll try again but very disappointed this time

Delicious best lemon chicken I’ve ever tasted

Fantastic, they called to check if I wanted to substitute duck in plum sauce with roast pork in plum sauce as they had just run out of duck, and now we prefer the pork! Doesn't seem to be on the menu though to order so hope it gets added

Salt and chilli chicken was good. Same with the rice and noodles. The pork and cashew and chicken schezwan didn't have much flavour. Both sauces had been thickened and weren't the best. Would try something else if I order again.

Delivered early; I asked for extra spicy Chicken Satay and they absolutely nailed it; love this take away, only good chinese that deliveres to Porty; end of story. Still got scran for tomoz aswell, very generous portions; killin' it.

Delivery time was fine. But the food was not cooked right. The chicken was under cooked and it tasted like cleaning products. Gutted.

Food is a joke there. Overwhelmingly overstated, no taste apart from salt whatsoever. And overpriced too. Avoid like bad plague....

Food was nearly 40mins late for collection , app wasn’t updated and the food was freezing so makes no sense why we had to wait so long.

I really like this chinese, only place I can get delivery to portobello that does Chicken Satay how I like! haha. Well, would like some chillis in it but I'm a spice merchant. Delivery was a wee bitty late but phoned the resteraunt and they were blinding, they won't make food until they can deliver it piping hot, happy to wait for a quality meal personally! Show up many, many other places on here that'll deliver food stone cold; cannae know them, give them a try!

I have been using this restaurant since I was 18 now 48 , they have always provided good food and service , been a little upset as there hours have been less but tonight ordered food . It was absolutely amazing and definitely back on track 💜

Delivered on time and was still hot, however the food was of poor quality. The soup was bland, the beef in the curry was tough and the "chicken with chilli and garlic sauce" was pretty much just onions and could not taste any garlic or chilli's. Chicken wings were alright. Very disappointed and has put us off ordering from here again.

Delivery times are too long. Address isn’t even far from the restaurant.

Food didn't arrive.Driver lying he had delivered food to correct address even though we have CCTV.Then restaurant refused to do anything about it.Not the usual for this place.Maybe a new owner or driver as had no issues in past

place is an absolute joke. Wont ever order from here ever again. Waited 2 and a half orders for this incompetent place. Called to query where our food was to be told it had been delivered elsewhere by a joke of a driver. They did nothing to help and didn’t offer a refund for the money spent or any replacement food. Absolutely shambolic, wont ever be back to this terrible place and would recommend others didn’t go near it

Never disappointed with the quality of food! Piping hot. Tasty to the distant galaxies and back!! However, sadly, this is our last ever from our favourite takeaway, as we are moving away from Edinburgh. Really going to miss our favourite Chinese takeaway😪 . Whenever New Hung Wai was closed for holidays, we did try others,,,,,they don't come close. Thankyou for your delicious food throughout my time popping in or ordering online, and it's been a good many years. I wish all at the New Hung Wai all the best.

Food arrived cold and inedible. The dishes did not match their descriptions. Going to have to get other food for dinner- avoid.

FOOD WAS GOOD, HOWEVER MY ORDER WAS A BIG ORDER AND NON OF DISHES WERE MARKED/ IDENTIFIED EVEN WITH MARKER PEN WHICH FURTHER DELAYED SERVING THE FOOD. FOOD QUALITY EXCELLENT, DELIVERY TIME EARLY NOT A BIG ISSUE WITH US, RECOMMENDED FOR A NICE FAMILY MEAL

Food was really disappointing. The curry tasted like chicken stock, no real curry flavour. Chilli chicken also lacked any flavour.

90 minutes for bland, cold food spilling into the bag. A childhood favourite restaurant of mines, this isn't the New Hung Wai I remember.

Just Estimated less than an hour before ordering. Once ordered the estimated delivery time was 1hr & 1/2. And finally it came over 2 hours after ordering.

Lemon chicken awful , hardly any chicken pieces in curry. All round disappointing

The estimate for delivery was 50 to 60 mins but it was actually 2 hours from ordering to it being delivered. Had I known the delivery time was going to be 2 hours I would never have placed the order and though the food was very good when it did eventually arrive we ended up eating much later than anticipated and it spoiled our plans for the remainder of the evening.

Order was never delivered. Apparently the delivery driver phoned us on my husband's mobile which we did not hear (we were getting the table ready for our delivery) but which we later discovered said that if we didn't contact him, then chicken would be delivered instead of beef (order history always shows this BEEF dish, never anything different for me - I don't eat chicken) then a text to say to contact the shop - to be told my order wasn't available. This at the time delivery should have been made. I cancelled the order - I'm not sitting watching my husband eat his meal while mine was missing. No part of the order came and no refund given. As we ordered through your system, can you please step in?
