New Happy Garden in Reading

Such a blessed to have found this takeaway shop during my stay around the neighbourhood. They provide a lot of dish options with generous portions and quality ingredients. Personally I do prefer their Grilled chicken with ginger and garlic in wine sauce where you can’t find it anywhere else👍🏻

Found hairs inside the food- really puts you off

I love their 柱侯牛腩。 It is the best 牛腩 dish I have ever tasted. Better than all other 牛腩 dishes I had in China, Malaysia and Singapore. I literally ordered this dish for more than 10 times at their place.

Absolutely amazing food. The curry sauce is lovely, the squid lovely, it was all fresh, hot and very tasty

I’ve been coming here for around 10 years, honestly one of the best places I’ve had Chinese food from. The people that work there are the loveliest people too. Their beef in black bean sauce and vermicelli Singapore-style noodles is brilliant! Honestly would recommend this place to anyone.

A great local Chinese takeaway, have eaten from here many times. Good flavours and doesn’t disappoint. Only dish I’ve ever not enjoyed was the salt and pepper mushrooms, which had soggy batter and was not flavourful - it didn’t have the seasonings or crispy batter I expect from a dish like salt and pepper chicken. Aside from this one dish everything has been lovely.

As a Chinese, I can say this is the most home-alike Chinese takeaway in Reading. The cuisines remind me of my hometown and childhood, this is the best Chinese I ever had in Reading. Highly recommend to all of my friends, and they all love it. Plus, the owner is super friendly! They put love and efforts on every dish they make. You won’t regret trying this one!

Absolutely love the food here, tastes very authentic and hits the spot whenever I feel homesick. They offer a variety of food, of which those which I've tried tastes as though they were from a restaurant back in Malaysia. They also offer meal deals for students which are great value, would highly recommend to students who are on-campus despite the pandemic situation.

Crispy beef tasted like vinegar, was chewy not crispy. Salt and pepper prawns were soggy, tasted like they'd been frozen since last year. Special fried rice had no flavour and the chips were saturated all the way through with oil. But the chicken balls were nice. Overpriced for such a disappointing meal.

The prawns noodles was super delicious and the spare rids very juices and tasty , especially the service is excellent and delivery on time . Highly recommended . We will be back sooner . Love the noodles

One of the best chinese take aways in reading

Hard rice, and satay chicken was flavourless, chicken balls a bit too doughy only good thing was the chips ! Won't be ordering again

Ordered a takeaway for myself and my partner and it was horrible! sauce was tasteless couldn't swallow the meat on the ribs and the chicken balls were so greasy like its like they had been cooked over and over. AVOID!!!

So this went wrong from the start. Whilst the food arrived promptly it was cold and the 3rd of our dishes ordered was incorrect. When called back to ask for why the wrong food was sent we were told that the other staff member took the order and that it was correct then I was hung up on. Then they ignored my calling them back from my mobile so I called from landline and was able to get through to the same person. They then became very argumentative when I asked them to refund the cost of the third dish and then proceeded to hand up on me again. All in all a very disappointing and will not be visiting again and will be actively not recommending them to friends/family.

Terrible All food had been reheated and left stale Rice had been over-boiled (how can you get rice wrong..) Curry sauce was not fresh and started to harden Overall very unpleasant, certainly won’t be returning or recommending to anyone!!!

Great place for takeaways. Price is reasonable. Popular place for students.

Tasty and fast with student offers

Been using this takeaway for years having tried many more in the area. We have never been disappointed with any of the meals. Friendly staff and cook. Competitively priced and always tasty, will make dishes more spicy on request. Recommend Sechuan pork and sweet and sour Cantonese style.

Fresh tasting, great flavours, quick service, this is a definite go to for a great Chinese . Staff are friendly and always remember us even if we haven’t ordered for months.

Ordered a takeaway from them for my family. The food was sub standard, everything was too fatty. But it was the Crispy Duck half portion that we had ordered at nearly 20 pounds. This had no mate was just all shredded hard dark brown skin that had been over cooked. You literally could not chew through it. I called the restaurant who were uninterested. So I took the whole crispy duck portion, they tried to tel me that was normal & pointed to the skin on a raw duck. I have Chinese 2-3 tines a month & order duck every time & have done for 20 years. I know what duck should taste & be cooked like. It was abysmal. They offered me no exchange or refund & when I said I wouldn’t order from them again, they said “good, goodbye”. Steer clear of this place with a barge pole! Much better Chinese restaurants in Reading!

Not greatest in Reading but was enjoyable and priced reasonably

i could not possibly give any positive remarks on the chinese, chicken balls tasted as though they were cooked over and over,, duck was also tough and the special fried rice was very dry.. When phoning to express my disappointed, the person on the phone did not seem interested at all.

Pretty average. Singapore noodles wasn’t bad but the char siu was smothered in a very sloppy gravy.

Always good food from here, I would recommend highly after trying. Other Chinese takeaways in the area. Thank you!

Having been let down by a few takeaway delivery places in the area. Weach just chanced this one. And we're very pleased with the service and the quality of food. Definitely use them again

I ordered some food from here yesterday, and it was really bad. My chicken wasn't cooked properly so i had to throw it away, and the sauce was pretty tasteless too. I wouldn't recommend.

Having used this takeaway over many years the meal we had tonight was a total let down. The food was greasy, bland and lacking any flavour. We've thrown away most of the good and discarded their menu. Sadly, we won't be returning.

Después de mi primer viaje a esta pizzería anoche me quedo con sentimientos encontrados hacia la comida. La señora de la recepción fue muy paciente con nuestro grupo, ya que nos tomó un aspecto extendida en el menú, a pesar de su claramente muy lleno. Tiempo de espera era un rato, pero no una notable cantidad más de lo usual en una pizzería chino, especialmente cuando son tan ocupado como este era. Como de costumbre de comida para llevar, el único material de lectura para mientras espera es la propaganda racista outlet del diario fracasan; última noche es problema era particularmente ridículo.
