We got a takeaway to eat at a local resort we were staying at and all the food was amazing and great value!! Highly recommend!!

A group of 15 of us had the most amazing evening here. Staff were quick to accomodate us when we booked, all were fantastically friendly and helpful throughout the evening, smiling the whole time. They found some candles for the desert of one of our group who was celebrating a birthday and even joined in with singing happy birthday. Food was delicious, served promptly and generous portions. Highly recommend 👌 they completely deserve to be as busy as they were. Well done 👏

Last minute booking for 15 friends and we had the best time. The service was great and the food arrived at the same time…. Delicious prawns in batter and crispy beef..wish we lived nearer (on a trip from the New Forest!)

Beautiful family meal food was lovely and staff are lovely reasonably priced aswell we enjoyed it, portion of prawn fried rice was huge!!

We were a bit disappointed after reading the good reviews. Our meal on the whole lacked flavour and we were expecting the beef chow mein to mainly thick juicy noodles but it was more like a chop suey with a small portion of very thin noodles thrown in. The best part was the prawn crackers We wouldn't revisit.

Amazing. Food was fantastic, such huge portions, and so tasty. My 90 year old mum said it was the best Chinese meal she has ever had!! We were served by a new waitress who had o love you been there for 3 weeks, and she was superb. 9 of us were there for the meal, and all our orders came out at the same time. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you 👏🏻👏🏻

4 adults and 1 toddler booked in for father day dinner and the restaurant was very busy .. service was wonderful, we ordered several meals to share and we could not fault any of them.. hot tasty and very good portion size.. would highly recommend..

Wouldn’t recommend this Chinese takeaway, we’re currently on holiday so went to the best rated Chinese we could find hoping for the best, however we were very disappointed. My chow mein was very dry and chicken was very chewy and overcooked, my boyfriends deep fried chilli beef was in a congealed sauce and his egg fried rice tasted like cardboard (also there was no egg!!). Our batter chicken balls were overcooked, but very crispy (obviously), the bbq sauce was definitely peking sauce, the only thing that we enjoyed were the mini spring rolls! Definitely won’t be going back!!

Stayed in the nearby Retallack Resort and ordered a takeaway to collect. Very good chinese and only 10-15 min drive to collect it. Nice friendly staff and overall good value, tasty chinese if you are looking for a takeaway whilst on holiday in the area.

Lovely staff and great service. The food is delicious, especially the fried soft noodles, I could eat those on their own. Good portion size too! Highly recommend this restaurant

The New Garden came recommended some two years ago. Have been there at least once every three weeks and have taken many friends there since because of it’s exceptional value and quality, food is always piping hot. Very friendly staff.

Really enjoyed our meal. The waiter was lovely, the restaurant looked clean and the food was fast, fresh and delicious. We had spicy beef noodles and king prawn fried rice with curry sauce. A bowl of prawn crackers were included whilst you waited. The takeaway area was busy, testament to how good they must be. Plan to return soon!

After reading some of the reviews in the local area we decided to try New garden Chinese. Prices online menus are severely outdated by at least 30% on some items (we estimated our order £50 and it was £60+) so firstly check these. We ordered over the phone and collected. First the food portion sizes are tiny. £7 for the smallest of small for sweet n sour chicken with 3/4 being veg. Special fried rice. Half and half mush of roast beef onions and bean sprouts and a tiny bit of egg fried rice. Oh and one piece of Pork. £2.60 for what can be only described as baby dips for sauces . The chicken balls were greasy, spare ribs had hardly any meat. The list is endless Oh the chips .. £3.10 for small portion of chips which were dry and crispy half the bag were the odd crap pieces that are left at the bottom of the bag. Honestly a shocking experience. Whoever has been putting good reviews needs to experience a proper Chinese takeaway somewhere else. It was foul and would never ever recommend it ! £60 worth of food in the bin !!

The best Chinese takeaway I've had in a long time, it blew the one in my actual town out of the water. The food travelled well in the car too and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely go!

The New Garden was recommended to us for either a sit in or takeaway chinese by the site where we were staying. I suppose it is always a little risky trying somewhere new for a takeaway especially when you are not local. I suppose generally nothing beats your own local takeaway at home. Have no fear at the New Garden, we ended up having 2 takeaways in one week from here. The food is great, very tasty and plentiful portions. If you are staying local and you don't fancy cooking you could not go wrong in going here. ***Please note they are closed on a Monday night*** and as a result are exceptionally busy on a Tuesday. For takeaways it might be best to phone through first as walk in orders were attracting approx a 20 minute wait.

We had a lovely meal here for my mum's birthday. We ordered lots of different dishes, ribs, noodles, rice, chips, Szechuan chicken, Cantonese Beef, Sweet and Sour chicken, Fillet Steak in Peking. Everything was absolutely beautiful and boiling hot. One of the nicest chinese meals we have had. The inside of the restaurant was very nice and staff were lovely! The prices were quite a bit higher than what we seen online (around £11 per main dish, plus sides), but we can't complain because we enjoyed it very much. Thank you:).

Best Chinese meal for ages in the restaurant. Lovely fresh food that makes you want to eat more than you really ought to. Lovely traditional decor and warm, friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended if you enjoy Chinese cuisine.

Cornwall is very short on Chinese restaurants so we were please to find this one about 15 mona away from our holiday camp site. We had a lovely meal, just enough aweves with each siah, tasty food. Service was good, place maybe a little dated...

On holiday in the area and wanted a Chinese takeaway. Friendly staff and food cooked within 10-15 minutes. Reasonably priced. Unfortunately, parking isn’t great. We returned to our accommodation to eat and enjoyed what we had.

I visited the New Garden 3 times on a recent trip to Cornwall.After walking away due to a 1+ hour waiting time (they were so busy) we went back the next day, pre ordered and collected on time.The main part of our order was roast pork curry, crispy shredded chicken in a red chilli sauce (can't remember what they call it) and salt n pepper chicken. Everything was good, the only thing I'd downgrade would be the s&p chicken as it was slightly overdone.The staff were really attentive, pleasant and when phoning in the order it was ready on time every day.Taking into consideration the location (middle of Cornwall) and how much busier it must be during the tourist season the service and food was very good.Solid 9/10 for me.

We came here for a meal with our grandchildren. The waitress made sure she conversed with them and congratulated the 5yr old on using chopsticks. The food was excellent and portions were large. Make sure you book has this is a very popular restaurant

The food here is amazing. Fresh, tasty, hot , plenty & such a big selection on offer. We had for starters spicy ribs and mini spring roll. The sirloin steak sizzler for main was truly amazing and the taste was incredible, has to be the nicest Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. On our second visit we changed the mains to chicken in hoy sun sauce with chips and a chicken fried rice and curry sauce. Prawn crackers are hot and large, great for scooping up your curry sauce. You need to book if you want a table it was packed and the queue outside for the takeaway was all down the side into the car park. It’s very reasonable priced also. A two course meal for 2 was around £36 with drinks.

Camping on a local site for a week and had a takeaway on our first night after long journey. Really tasty food and not oily at all. We enjoyed the food so much we had it again later in the week.

Visited here with my husband and two children whilst in Cornwall on holiday. We all love Chinese food but we are particular about it being good Chinese food.This place was excellent and up there with one of the best meals I've eaten from a Chinese restaurant. Between us we ordered, chicken balls and sweet and sour, deep friend crispy beef, chicken fried rice, noodles, chips and curry sauce. Everything was tasty and as we asked and was ready within 5 minutes. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommend

The best Chinese we’ve had in a long time! Every dish was hot, fresh and clean. The dishes each tasted as they should. After a spate of 'bad' Chinese takeaways whereby dishes tasted the same - fatty and full of oil - this made for a refreshing change and was worth the drive from Padstow to Indian Queens.The chicken satay skewers went down a treat : )We’ll definitely be back!!! After the long lockdown period and a very hard day at work we decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway from our local Chines restaurant. I had been looking forward to it all day. I am sad to say it was a total disappointment. It has gone down hill drastically these last few months. I can’t say it’s ever been brilliant but always passable. We only had 4 dishes as there is only 2 of us. The noodles were dry and tasteless. They are normally nice & soft & have some bean sprouts in but it hardly had any. The special fried rice was a almost indescribable and didn’t taste nice at all. My husbands dish was also tasteless and soggy. The only saving grace was the lovely prawns we had. It will have to improve considerably before we think of trying it again.

Food was delicious and staff really friendly and accommodating with changing our booking last minute. We dined with Eat Out to Help Out scheme too.

Staying at local campsite and couldn’t get through on the phone as constantly engaged so drove down and placed order in person. Was about a 20 minute wait but they were clearly very busy. Had a good system in place re COVID, with attended all cars outside and then delivering the food to their cars. All PPE worn, doing an excellent job with it. Food was good. Beef curry and duck chow mein and a spring roll. Beef was quick thick and a bit chewy but nice all the same. Interestingly a portion of curry sauce was different to the sauce in the curry but both nice!

We have lived locally (both in Indian Queens and now Roche) for 12 years. We have always bought a meal from here at least once a month usually takeaway but have sometimes ate in the restaurant. My brother lived in China for 9 years and his Chinese wife is from a large city near the Korean border. They now live in Truro and both enjoy the food from the New Garden too when they come to visit. We've probably had a hundred meals from here and aside from a small handful of disappointments we've been consistently pleased with both quality and quantity. We'd say the only item that is below par are the ribs which tend to be gristle and meatless. Otherwise we'll keep going and remain a loyal customer. The restaurant is lovely. Informal. Decent portions.

We shared a few meals, and fritters for dessert, as part of a takeaway, and all was delicious. The food felt fresh, it was tasty, and the portions sizes were fine. It ranks quite high up on our Chinese takeaway experiences; in fact, the fritters were the best we have ever had. The restaurant was busy, but staff were friendly as they dealt with the orders promptly. We only had takeaway, but the restaurant appeared clean and tidy.

After a 3 hour drive to Cornwall, we were ready for an early evening meal and Googled for Chinese restaurants near our hotel. It had mostly good reviews and a fuel stop at a neighbouring petrol station had the guy at the till confirming those reviews. Parking was easy on the forecourt and we entered an attractively lit and furnished establishment with a takeaway on the right and the remainder, the restaurant. The service was as pleasant as the comfy, wrap around seating and the food - delicious. Highly recommended.

Nothing cooked as it was three or more years ago. Last three times I've ordered Chinese Roast Pork with Beansprouts the pork was so tough and inedible like it had been in the freezer for years. Plain beansprouts and prawns with tomatoes are now tasteless. Now stopped going there.

Been here a fare few times over the years. Always great service and always great value for money. If you phone order or just turn up, the waiting time is not too long. They also have beer on tap, so always a must whilst you wait !!

outvery present meal, did have a problem with one of the dishes but was replaced and removed from Bill. Would have been five stars but website let it down. Not sure how old the information was but all the prices were about double what stated. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We have been going to Cornwall for our holidays for 15yrs and we always go here for our Chinese takeaway.It is still amazing, the staff are still brilliant and the food is still amazing and tasty. We would recommend you try it and see for yourselves!!!!!!

Have had several enjoyable evenings here but this time booked for 16 friends, none of which had been before. We were not disappointed....the food and service was first class. Staff were very helpful in explaining dishes to friends in our group that were not too familiar with the cuisine. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the evening and are keen to return again. Hey I went to have a sit down meal this time as normaly we have take away, I can not fault the service and meal we had it was great taste and very hot when brought to the table, The staff were very good and despite them being busy the young lady was always ready to help out to bring meals and clear tables, would say deffo go along and value for money, we even had to much food and took it home in a take away dish, deffo going back

No on line Take away/delivery Menu. When I decided to take a trip there, it wasn't open. I will wait till I can call one evening and try to get a take away menu

Spending a weekend with friends who took us here for a meal. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food as it’s tucked and doesn’t look the best outside. Definitely return when we come and stay again 👍🏻

Visited with friends for a birthday meal out. We had a range of dishes all of which appeared freshly prepared and were reasonably tasty. However, I must compliment the young lady who served us . Very pleasant and most attentive.

shocking disgusting food, would never recomend this to anyone the food was absolutely awfull ie tasteless and of poor quality would never go there again

Well take this as a personal bad review or a word of warning regarding NEW GARDEN CHINESE RESTAURANT & TAKEAWAY st columb road-queens I’ve eaten from here a few times and have always been ok, until Thursday evening ordered a takeaway consisting of rice, noodles, Szechuan chicken as I tucked into it I found myself choking and being sick violently then my partner found a load of what looks like fish bones (but could be any sort of bones I’m scared to think) rite throughout the meal, resulting in a trip to newquay hospital then onto Treliske hospital x-rays and a camera down my nose into my throat and 6 hours waiting to have a bone removed from my throat, retuned to the Chinese for an explanation only to be told that it must have come from a fish shop as they don’t sell fish and basically called me a liar and gave me a refund, but 110% this come in there food, I’ve contacted environmental health and am waiting instructions on what to do next hopefully there going to test the bones and find out what they once belonged to and investigate how they ended up in my takeaway, I know Myself family and friends will never be eating from here again and wanted to share this bad experience with the surrounding area,

We had a takeaway order for four people. The batter was raw and floury, (the crispy chilli beef and chicken was just soft mush) the sweet and sour chicken and crispy chilli beef lacked any sort of flavour and barely had any vegetables in mostly just onion. When called to discuss this with the restaurant they were extremely rude and not understanding. Don't waste your money and calories here!!!

Take away food are great, hot and delicious. Friendly staff and giving us recommendation of meal, we bought set meal for three, enjoyed it with my family, no wonder this restaurant is always busy.

Visit here once a month and although always busy, food always good. We try and vary what we have but always a good standard.

We ordered as a take away , but on husband coming home , we had been given wrong items, arrr . Rung up to sort which got us no were as don't seem to listen to what you say , Husband had to drive back...
