One of the best chinese meals I have had for a long time.

After receiving my food and paying nearly £50 for my order, I ended up getting very ill after I had eaten porn balls would not recommend when I’ve gone to the hospital. They told me I had food poisoning

Stayed in Boscastle so closest Chinese takeaway 15 min drive , easy to get to. Reasonable priced and food was tasty and quick service , cash only

Surprised to see negative reviews - a family takeaway was fine despite not having 'seaweed' on the menu, grandchildren's favourite. Prompt service and added local information for us.

Really good menu and prices seemed normal for a Chinese takeaway. Turned up to order and didn't have to wait long at all. Payment is cash only, there is a cash point up the road outside the Co-op. There is a nearby public car park with 2 hours free.

Haven’t had food here for some time. Really pleased with the meal we ordered. Like all take always prices have increased but I consider we had good value for money. The Duck with pancakes was excellent. Duck was moist and tasty and it was big quarter! Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was excellent. The salt and pepper prawns were good. We enjoyed the spicy Singapore Rice. Shocked by the size of th Spring Roll, which was the biggest I have ever seen. Easily enough for two to share. Ordering was easy with friendly and helpful guy and food was ready for collection at arranged time. Will definitely be ordering again here soon

awful so didn’t eat but friend ate and threw up worse chinese anywhere he said it made him feel very ill and had to go home where he threw up more for your own safety and well being stay far from this place of tourure

Tried to make a telephone order. All I got was an answering service. Couldn't place a telephone order so, Idecided to travel to the Takeaway. What a mistake. It is a 10 miloe round trip. When I got there I was told, very abruptly, there was no chance of ordering any food. Not a good experience. The man at the place where yo9u order was very rude, very unhelpfull. Why did I ever bother to drive to this so called Takeaway. I will not be using this place again, I will go to the Nepalise business across the road from disgusting Hong Kong Island Takeaway. Why can people not be helpful and explain why I could not order food from the Honk Kong Island Takeaway? They have an answering service on their telephone but, I was toldthey just do not answer any messages left for them. WHY IS THIS SO?

After considering what to eat, we decided to have some takeaway Chinese Food. How wrong were we. I( had King Prawn with Spring Onions and Ginger. It was truly the worst so called food I have ever had. The King Prawns were very, very hard and not cooked properly. The Spring Onions and Ginger were the same. I had to throw it all away. What a waste. To top it off, they have increased their proces by more than 10% for so called food. Disgusting food, really over priced. Avoid at all costs.

We went here whilst on holiday up the road in Davidstow. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced as well.

Poor. Duck mainly fatty skin, no bbq sauce, nothing was flavoured. All in all bland. One cashew nut in chicken with cashew nuts. Huge chunks of flavourless veg. Prices on menu do not include a cheeky 10% surcharge. Definitely would not recommend.

Sorry but cannot recommend, bland rice and chicken very chewy, I could not eat it

Went here whilst on holiday. Chicken balls were very heavy batter, chicken dishes had huge chunks of chicken that weren’t flavoured at all and the chunks of veg were way too big. Not particularly nice and wouldn’t recommend.

Here on a few days holiday. Popped into this chinese. Very pleasant young person behind counter. Waited around 10 minutes. Piping hot food and delicious. Best chicken in batter i had for a long time and can highly recommend Chicken in black bean sauce.

Be sure to preorder online at weekends as the walk in wait time can be lengthy. Other than that excellent food and good portions.

Ordered last week for a specific time it was well over half hour wait, and wrong order, meanwhile other people who ordered way after were walking in and getting theirs straightaway. Ordered again last night it was on time, BUT order messed up AGAIN. Not very impressed

Was 'ok' .... generous portions and hot but the food was definitely not anywhere near the nicest chinese takeways that we have had. Would we go back... possibly as there are no other chinese takeaways in the area.

Order from here regularly but the service is becoming more and more shocking. We are often told 20 mins but always gave half an hour just in case and often been stood waiting for and extra 20 minutes on top. We have recently place an order were told 30 minutes went down to be told another 15-20 minutes and still over an hour and 20 minutes later we were still stood waiting.

We have been here multiple times over the years, and have really enjoyed it every time we have been here. However, this time we were very dissapointed. Firstly, the food is always lovely, so you really can't say anything negative about that. The problem comes from the pricing. We had a menu from late 2021, and ordered off that. I worked out the prices from that menu, as they only accept cash, and so I needed to make sure I had enough cash on me to pay. The total came to just under £25. I thought that allowing around £5 extra for any price increases would be fine, and pretty similar to what we pay in our local chinese for the same order. When I got into the takeaway to collect, the lady said £44! The order was correct, nothing extra was added on. I said that in the menu that we had, the price added up to £25ish, and was told it was an old menu. I paid, but while I was waiting, I checked the menus in the shop, that were still on display on the wall, and still available to take from the counter. They were exactly the same as the one I had. She then said that they had changed their prices, but not had anything reprinted yet, not great, but fair enough. She then pointed out a handwritten sign that said something along the lines of 'Due to extra costs we are now adding 10% to the cost of the bill. We hope to be able to stop doing this soon.' If the meals were advertised as being a bit more expensive, then fair enough because you can make your choice whether to buy or not. But to not only not advertise the extra costs put on the cost of a meal, but then add an extra 10% on, for no real reason at all is not really very good. I live in a very touristy area, and some places do put extra on prices in the summer, which I really dislike. It seems as though this was possibly the same concept, and it really put me off. The food was lovely, we really enjoyed it. Was it worth the £20 more than we paid last time we visited, for the exact same meal. Absolutely not. I would visit again, but I would certainly clarify the prices before I actually placed the order.

Only used twice since moving house, it’s the nearest Chinese takeaway to me, 2 years gap between visits! Rice is like rice pudding, claggy, special fried rice only had a few bits of meat or something in! Sweet and sour sauce wouldn’t fill a thimble! Everything felt it was microwaved, normally while waiting for your food you can hear a wok or activity in the kitchen, it was far too quiet. I have visited many Chinese restaurants and takeaways around the world, this has to,be the worst I’ve ever encountered . A Marks and Spencer takeaway you cook yourself is infinitely better, never again!

This meal although we were told we had better order and collect some items were worded differently but when asked the gentleman explained. The photos on the menu are not very big so we ordered more just in case there was loads OMG

Probably the worst Chinese I’ve had in a long while, rice and chow mein had no taste. Chicken balls were over cooked and 90% batter. I gave it a go due to the good reviews but hopefully it was an off night.

Best Chinese within ten miles radius.

Horrible food. They don’t even have napkins. Satay sauce it is just oil, not a single peanut had been used in that dish, the egg fried rice had no egg and it wasn’t fried and wasn’t from today. I gave them back this awful food, at least they gave me back my money.

Use this chinse a few times ..chicken fried rice with curry sauce big enough for 2 on it own .. Love beef in black bean ..loads flavor ..so tried beef chow main (never again) it was cold n undercooked, hate the fact don't do proper chinse chips 😤 n only telephone orders only ..x

Conveniently placed in the middle of many corniche towns. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced.

Just what you want from a neighbourhood Chinese. Pretty standard menu, cooked well. Two of our party had prawn dishes and thought they were excellent. Cash only, so don’t rock up with only cards 😬

Didn’t seem to want our order. On holiday for a week so didn’t know that orders had to be phoned through. Rather rude man pointed this out to us. Food was hot and tasty but chicken was tough.

Great food, always go there when were in Camelford

Just trying to get rid of the sticky greasy taste that I just can’t shift, I had a special rice and partner had special chow mien neither was remotely special, two thirds of both are now in the bin . Having seen all the good feedback for this takeaway we looked forward to a really nice meal but sadly we are now suffering our own feedback.

So we spent £42 here and very disappointed with the quality of food we got , my husband ordered chicken Kung po nothing like what we usually have very bland he left over half , so had salt and pepper chicken horrible not at all...

Best Chinese food in Camelford plenty of it

Fist night in Camelford and only place open for takeaway food other than the somewhat dodgy looking kebab shop. Fairly normal Chinese takeaway food at reasonable prices.

Again, virtually the only place around for an evening take out. Ordered 4 dishes. The pancake roll was the size of a log, the contents encased in thick soggy batter. Not pleasant. The two main dishes, sadly, were 60% onion and not a lot of...

We ordered takeout as we fancied salt & pepper chips, they were horrendous, badly cooked, not seasoned, half of them were just normal chips, massive chunks of onion and peppers in them. Honestly wasn’t worth it. Very disappointed

The best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in many many years. I moved into the area from the North West in 2019, where there were so many takeaways to choose from; I never found a Chinese as good as this one. I’ve had around ten takeaways from here and every one has been excellent. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

I understand everyone has there own idea of how their Chinese food should taste. For the items me and my family enjoy this is the best and at a reasonable price.

Lovely food, there was a slight delay in getting my order but I believe it was because they had so many orders to fill. Lovely warm welcoming young lady who had got a bit flustered but coped very well

Only had soup and 1/2 Aromatic duck and both dishes excellent and great value for money. Can’t believe how much duck we got.

Felt disappointed the Chicken chow mein didn't taste like chow mein at all just fried...the chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce was good, chips n curry sauce was also good...really big pancake rolls were unfortunately disappointing as the filling was cheap n nasty. Overall I wouldn't go back. Money better spent elsewhere. Sorry

Good value for money and the food was tasty, its only a 4* rating from us as we are blessed with one of the best chinese restaurants in the country in our home town so we know what it takes to get 5*! However, the food from Hong Kong Island is good and we would recommend it if you’re looking for a nice chinese in the area.

Not sure if this is under new ownership or not but have been visiting the area for a number of years now and have noticed the decline of the service and quality of the food, not tonight, every dish was superb, hot, plentiful and flavoursome.BBQ spare ribs, pancake roll, garlic chicken, shrimp with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and a yeung chow fried rice, all outstanding.I come from an area with a choice of 7 Chinese take-aways within a couple of miles and whilst they all do one dish better than the other non of them beat this place for dish on dish quality.Hopefully it's not a one off.

Amazing! We went a couple weeks ago and the food was great! It tasted amazing and the staff were so friendly. Definitely would recommend
