Worst Chinese business strategy I've ever seen, protein portions INCREDIBLY SMALL, went back the day to ask why portion sizes were too small, considering I spent £45 on the order and it barely fed 2 adults, a 6 and 7 year old, I was met by a lazy staff member who looked like she eats half the portions before they go to the customers, she got very angry at me for mentioning how small the protein portions for each dish where and continued to shout and talk over me, I've recorded everything and I'm excited to post it on Facebook shortly.

Delivery was a bit late but, because they're probably the best chinese takeaway in town, they're very busy and it was a friday night. I'm not complaining at all, just being honest with my review. I'll still be ordering from China Cottage again.

Didn’t enjoy the food crispy chilli beef was not edible and items missing

Will never order from here again, ordered a delivery, paid for delivery and the driver refused to deliver to my door. Argued with me when I went down and drove off with the food. Disgusting customer service as restaurant did not help and now I have to wait for my refund through just eat. Avoid this place at all costs

The duck was awful and very very fatty or cremated also the amount of money we spent and don’t receive prawn crackers not a lot of meat or prawns in the house special rice and chow mein for the price was just noodles and rice

Food was delicious , ordered for 5.30 told it would be 5.45 but it arrived at 5.15 . Bit too early but never mind it was lovely .

we ordered for 5.30 as we had family joining us. so when it arrived early we had to wait to eat it.. was a bit spicier than usual so our son wasn't keen this time.

Ordered a chicken chow mein, mine was about 60% onions and 40% noodles… was horrible and the rice/chips/curry sauce, my other half said the chips was too stodgy to eat but the rice and curry sauce was good. Overall wouldn’t order again, I’m not paying £7 for mainly onions again.

I can ot fault this restaurant, we only buy our Chinese from here. It's the best In town, fresh, hot, delicious scrumptious food every time. I have tried many places this stands out. We love it! You definitely need a tip section on Justeat.

chow mein wasn't edible had a weird taste and smell none of us could eat it. chips bit hard. always order from here but very disappointed this time

Food extremely salty. Asked for no bean sprouts in chow mien so instead they put a silly amount on onions in, more onions than noodles. Spring rolls were soggy and pale, and just eat thinks there parters just all have different styles of cooking! Ridiculous

Never have a problem with the food. Always hot and tasty. Staff are all very friendly and when I make a mistake on just eat when I call the restaurant they know exactly what my request was meant to be. Always very happy 😊

by far the worst good I've ever tasted. chips horrible , rice hard , wouldn't eat here again if it was free! and wouldn't give the food to the dog.

Time estimate before ordering was less than once order had been pressed. Probably wouldn't have ordered if the estimate had said 1.5 hours

The food is great but they accept your order and then cancel on you. Do they actually want your business? Either be on this app or dont.

Food was good and hot and tasty, although missing the dumplings - the driver did apologise for this and I did get a refund. The wait time was long though - ETA 2100, then 2120, then eventually arrived 2135 because the driver went to the wrong street!

Food was definitely worth the wait but app advised me delivery was on its way but it was a further 20 mins before it arrived ……. it was hot and delicious!

The food was really good and arrived hot! The only disappointment was we received curry sauce with the chicken balls and not sweet and sour but the food was so nice we got over it. Delivery was quite long but I expected that on a Saturday night. Would definitely order again, especially the satay chicken skewers!

ordered a few times from here before and food has been ok. Today estimated delivery time was pushed back, so took about 1 hour 50 to receive order. When it arrived, chips for curry were missing and recieved plain chicken wings when BBQ chicken wings were ordered. I appreciate it can be challenging to get things right when busy but I'd rather you reject my order if you don't have the capacity to meet the estimated delivery time with the correct order.

China cottage often deliver food late they have a terrible delivery timings trying to cram as many deliveries into one round. Food tasted actually nice but again was Luke warm at best. The lady on the phone is rude, argumentative and abrupt. She won’t listen to your complaint and will continue to talk over you. She swore at me when I questioned her. She also continually raised her voice. I WOULD NOT ORDER FROM HERE. FOOD HYGIENE RATING IS ONLY 3

Ordered at 6:15pm and food wasn’t delivered until 9:25pm. Food was cold and driver was rude. Not even a bag of prawn crackers to compensate for the wait. Appalling

Disgusting vile customer service. Took my order knowing they were unable to complete it and let me know when I was already almost at the restaurant. The obese lady at the front has the manners of a pig. Vile. Will never order there again

Will not be using this place again - after waiting nearly 2 hours for order phoned them and they hadn’t even started cooking my order and then cancelled the order !!

I absolutely love getting my Friday meals from this place, especially the Angel Box. Those spicy chips and chicken wings just melt in my mouth, bringing such delight to my taste buds

Nearly took 2hrs to arrive! Very disapointed. Small portions. Crispy duck was not crispy what so ever. Just undercooked fat and very little duck meat. All meat provided in the dishes seemed fatty & under cooked & no flavour. Will never order from this chinese again!

I received pork fried rice, when I ordered mushroom fried, it was late , greasy and no where near as good honeymoon Inn chinese- never order from you again- worsened by no apology or compensation for poor cuisine and service - a big ew , I could produce better myself and will do if your only choice of chinese takeaway to be sure

Said the restaurant didn’t start delivering until 17.30 and our food was due to be delivered between 17.45- 18.05. Our food was delivered around 17.05 only one person was there to eat the food at that time so most of it was wasted

Reported as delivered and it hadn’t been. Had to chase the restaurant and they said it would be another 15 minutes and blamed machines. The delivery in total took over 2 hours.

Used china cottage lots times and ate the lot but the last meal at the weekend was disgusting prawn crackers didnt taste nice sweet sour sauce yuk prawn balls covered thick uncooked batter only thing that was any good was fried rice

This meal only gets 3 stars because the not all of it is worthy a poor review. The duck and the chow mein were enjoyed, and as I didn't have those I cannot comment. However the house special curry I did have, with mushroom rice. This was bland, and I mean absolutely flavourless bland though every element of the meal. There was no texture, no seasoning, and the rice was cardboard dry. Not one I will be ordering again

Waited 2 hours for delivery , the just eat app told me it had been delivered so I phoned to see where it was , to be shouted at by an extremely rude woman over the phone telling me its not even been cooked yet , even tho the app said its been delivered?? I was then told it would be another 30/45 minutes, I then received an email saying the delivery driver couldn't find my address so the order has been cancelled?!?! please understand why i was frustrated.....i understand its busy so change the delivery times on your app ...... terrible customer service!
