It’s unusual to be late wasn't Expected from them

Food was ordered just after 6 and arrived at 8:30. When we finally got hold of the restaurant we were told the delivery car had broken down

Unfortunately despite the estimated delivery time being different (longer) than indicted on the home page, food was delivered just under 2hrs It wasn’t a large order, 3 dishes, and I did call at 1hr 45mins to be told “it’s left the kitchen”.

Nice but not as good quality as it usually is!

It was nice but wasn’t very warm, shame really.

chou mein had no noodles and about 6 beansprouts! beef and mushroom was 80% mushrooms and the ribs were very cheap and fatty. Gloopy sub standard food that cost over £30! won't be ordering again from here

Don’t hesitate. Simply the best food ever and best service. On a very cold Friday night service with care, attention to customer and a smile. Tried the crispy chicken tonight and it was delicious. Thank you as ever.

Not bad but not great. Spare ribs in bbq sauce were ok but the spare ribscin syrup were awful. The ribs were not coated in the syrup which was a tiny amount in the base of the tray, i thought they were supposed to be cooked in it, they were bland.

No other takeaway on Just Eat even comes close to how good this place is. The food is always consistently good, tasty, piping hot and delivered with a smile. A shining example of how it should be done. The best in town bar none!

The delivery time changed by 30 minutes, 15 minutes after it was due. But the wrong order was delivered, which was not the restaurant’s fault, it was caused by the just eat driver. The restaurant cooked a replacement order quite quickly, thank you to china cottage

This is our ‘go to’ Chinese take away and order from here regularly. We’ve tried other places in our time but we believe this is the best. The food is always good. I would give it six stars if I could.

Worst Chinese business strategy I've ever seen, protein portions INCREDIBLY SMALL, went back the day to ask why portion sizes were too small, considering I spent £45 on the order and it barely fed 2 adults, a 6 and 7 year old, I was met by a lazy staff member who looked like she eats half the portions before they go to the customers, she got very angry at me for mentioning how small the protein portions for each dish where and continued to shout and talk over me, I've recorded everything and I'm excited to post it on Facebook shortly.

The food itself was lovely. Really tasty . We ordered a selection for my birthday take out. Really enjoyed it (the prawn toast and chips were soggy from being in the plastic bag, the only negative on the food) The delivery however was shocking!! When I ordered it said it would arrive around 8pm latest. This changed to 8.55pm on the app. The food wasn't delivered until 9.35pm. I understand they get busy but that kind of delay is ridiculous. My birthday meal with my children didn't go as planned.

It was ok just not as nice as the one we usually go to. Chicken balls were a bit pants and sauce tasted a little old tbh.

Delivery was a bit late but, because they're probably the best chinese takeaway in town, they're very busy and it was a friday night. I'm not complaining at all, just being honest with my review. I'll still be ordering from China Cottage again.

Will never order from here again, ordered a delivery, paid for delivery and the driver refused to deliver to my door. Argued with me when I went down and drove off with the food. Disgusting customer service as restaurant did not help and now I have to wait for my refund through just eat. Avoid this place at all costs

Didn’t enjoy the food crispy chilli beef was not edible and items missing

The duck was awful and very very fatty or cremated also the amount of money we spent and don’t receive prawn crackers not a lot of meat or prawns in the house special rice and chow mein for the price was just noodles and rice

we ordered for 5.30 as we had family joining us. so when it arrived early we had to wait to eat it.. was a bit spicier than usual so our son wasn't keen this time.

Ordered a chicken chow mein, mine was about 60% onions and 40% noodles… was horrible and the rice/chips/curry sauce, my other half said the chips was too stodgy to eat but the rice and curry sauce was good. Overall wouldn’t order again, I’m not paying £7 for mainly onions again.

I can ot fault this restaurant, we only buy our Chinese from here. It's the best In town, fresh, hot, delicious scrumptious food every time. I have tried many places this stands out. We love it! You definitely need a tip section on Justeat.

Food extremely salty. Asked for no bean sprouts in chow mien so instead they put a silly amount on onions in, more onions than noodles. Spring rolls were soggy and pale, and just eat thinks there parters just all have different styles of cooking! Ridiculous

Never have a problem with the food. Always hot and tasty. Staff are all very friendly and when I make a mistake on just eat when I call the restaurant they know exactly what my request was meant to be. Always very happy 😊

Time estimate before ordering was less than once order had been pressed. Probably wouldn't have ordered if the estimate had said 1.5 hours

Food was good and hot and tasty, although missing the dumplings - the driver did apologise for this and I did get a refund. The wait time was long though - ETA 2100, then 2120, then eventually arrived 2135 because the driver went to the wrong street!

Food was definitely worth the wait but app advised me delivery was on its way but it was a further 20 mins before it arrived ……. it was hot and delicious!

The food was really good and arrived hot! The only disappointment was we received curry sauce with the chicken balls and not sweet and sour but the food was so nice we got over it. Delivery was quite long but I expected that on a Saturday night. Would definitely order again, especially the satay chicken skewers!

ordered a few times from here before and food has been ok. Today estimated delivery time was pushed back, so took about 1 hour 50 to receive order. When it arrived, chips for curry were missing and recieved plain chicken wings when BBQ chicken wings were ordered. I appreciate it can be challenging to get things right when busy but I'd rather you reject my order if you don't have the capacity to meet the estimated delivery time with the correct order.

China cottage often deliver food late they have a terrible delivery timings trying to cram as many deliveries into one round. Food tasted actually nice but again was Luke warm at best. The lady on the phone is rude, argumentative and abrupt. She won’t listen to your complaint and will continue to talk over you. She swore at me when I questioned her. She also continually raised her voice. I WOULD NOT ORDER FROM HERE. FOOD HYGIENE RATING IS ONLY 3

I absolutely love getting my Friday meals from this place, especially the Angel Box. Those spicy chips and chicken wings just melt in my mouth, bringing such delight to my taste buds
