The rice was not good, hard to chew, and it came in a solid block like a brick. It was embarrassing for me personally as my guests had a sub standard experience. How hard can it be to cook good plain rice? Surely that is a basic requirement. I would like you to respond to this review please, with an explanation for the poor rice. What happened? Why should I trust you again with my food ordering? Your response will determine whether I will place any more orders with you.

Honestly the most bland tasteless meals I’ve had in a long time, Feel robbed of £21.50 !! It’s like they don’t use salt peppers or spices I’ve been texting the automated text service all night asking for a refund with no reply

Good polite staff and genuinely friendly. Owner friendly and enthusiastic, about your eating pleasure. Food authentic ,twice I've been in to collect my dinner ,there jave been chinese patrons. ( first time I've ever noticed that. Delivery service is great for us hard workers!!! ( only if im not passing by )

Prawns balls were great massive prawns, egg fried rice cooked to perfection and loads of chop suey that tasted brilliant too. The ribs were plentiful and came with loads of extra sauce. A lovely meal. Arrived quickly too. I’d definitely order here again. Highly recommend!!! :)

I order from this take away at least 3 times a week, food is always perfect, staff is friendly and delivery always on time with hot food delivered, I won’t go anywhere else

Got food poisoning from this place. Very bad customer service and they refuse to believe that their food caused food poisoning.

I wouldn’t even give the restaurant 1 star if I had a choice. Ordered a takeaway last night which came to a total of £60 roughly and we were unable to eat any of it. Whilst in the process of dishing the food, we noticed a wasp within the beef in black bean sauce (photos attached). We found the restaurant straight away to make them aware, only to be told that there was no way it could have come from them and that we planted it ourselves (baring in mind it was 8pm and raining outside- where would we have found a wasp). The lady on the phone was incredibly rude and unprofessional and there was no sign of remorse. My friend that I was with is severely allergic to wasps and therefor the whole meal went to waste. Avoid this restaurant at all costs- I will be reporting to the environmental agency.

Not sure what was delivered but it was suppose to be chicken curry and sweet n sour chicken balls with special fried rice. The chicken balls were pink (didn’t eat) the curry chicken was horrendous, just slime and black/ red meat. The rice was a blob of sticky gluey mass. Shocking quality ingredients and paid £26 for something that was only fit for the bin!!!!

I absolutely love this Chinese shop and I wouldn’t order from anywhere else, I’ve been going here for over a year now and the food is always delicious, the service from front of house and the kitchen is amazing. Extremely welcoming, great service from the lovely lady behind the counter! It was very busy but as expected as its a brilliant Chinese takeaway and a Saturday night, but I got my food exactly when I was told I'd be getting it (45 mins) Arrived 5 mins before and it was ready on time. Chicken balls- 10 Chow mein-10 Chicket satay-10 BBQs Ribs-10 Seaweed-10 Chicken Curry-10 Spring Rolls-10 Crispy duck-10 Special fried rice-10 Full order perfect as always. All in all the food was great and the atmosphere is amazing. Been coming here for 5 years, won't go anywhere else

Awful service. Horrible food. Waited over an hour once arriving for a 30 minute pick up slot and told that a baby was in the car, have been coming here for over 20yrs. Second time we’ve had an issue and had a credit voucher, will not return. Pick somewhere else.

When I ordered I was told the delivery would be 50 minutes, it was 30 minutes late and when it turned up it was overcooked (the chicken balls were rock hard) and it looked like the bag had been thrown around as the sweet and sour sauce had broken open and gone all over the rest of the food.

Just got home after ordering a take away, service was great, friendly and apologetic but that is to be expected when left to wait 20 mins longer than they said it would be. Now the food was awful, Hot and sour soup tasted like it had a whole bottle of vinegar added to it, completely inedible, Prawn crackers were beyond stale. Again inedible. The mixed hors d'oeuvres Ribs cold and chewy Seaweed burnt taste Spring rolls tasted off and were a gross grey colour when cut open. Prawn toast was delicious but just under £20 and all that was edible was prawn toast. I would have taken back but I don’t drive and was given a lift. I won’t be going back! I’m now ordering from a different take away for my dinner. Very disappointed and do not recommend.

After moving here we tried many different takeaways but this one was the best.We ordered several different dishes and they were very good.The portion sizes are proper and good value for money.The only downside was the wait (apparently they were busy)however the staff gave accurate updates on our order and it was definitely worth the wait.

Spring rolls only contained bean sprouts and were tasteless. Chicken in the chop suey was tasteless and minimal. Chow mein was mostly bean sprouts, The rice we ordered was missing. Three of us ordered and none of us enjoyed our meal. Would not accept cards, only cash. Very disappointing.

Just walked in and ordered from here. Was told cash only being taken so had to go and find cashpoint. When I returned I was waiting to order when another family came in and got served first. Not happy about being ignored. Order taken, told wait would be about 10 mins which was about right. Brought food home, chicken curry had about 4 bits of chicken in it, all of which was fatty and inedible. Not what I wanted or expected. Not happy about food quality, or service today, will probably try elsewhere next time . This has left a bad taste in my mouth for more than one reason.

Awful food, awful staff with the worst attitude. Raw chicken, or balls of chicken skin in dishes. Told to contact just eat to get refund after paying cash! Offered to return food was told by rude woman it was a just eat problem or to contact trading standards then she put the phone down! Avoid!!

The chicken dishes weren’t cooked so were still raw inside. Phoned up to tell them and they didn’t even apologise. Will definitely never use them or recommend them to anyone. Lucky nobody got sick!

I have ordered twice from them with Ubereats and the food tasted great with reasonable delivery times. The veggies taste fresh, any meat/prawns cooked just right, you have made a regular customer for sure! :)

Tried this takeaway for the first time how disappointed we all were. Asked for no beansprouts in the chow Mein, got beansprouts, chicken was translucent in the middle clearly undercooked had to throw the whole dish in the bin. Beef really chewy, a shame as the flavours were ok. Can't see how just eat can rate so high.

Ordered by telephone at 6.30 pm. Told 1 hour for delivery, called hour half later and phone left off hook whilst waiting on the line could hear everything. Took 50 plus calls from mine and husbands phone to get through again later to be left hanging off hook again me for 10 mins and husband 20 mins. Heard down the line that our order hadn’t even started and could we were still awaiting delivery. Over two hours later food finally arrived! New China you’ve now lost our long standing business and that of the two other local families who were over for the evening. Appalling customer service with no apology or explanation as to why the delay. Shocking!

Worst. Delivery. Ever. Ordered at 7.20, due to arrive at 10.00pm and still not received. Not even a call to make us aware and when we called they kept the phone off the hook.

Ordered via Just Eat, was told 45 minute delivery time. After two hours it finally arrived, luke warm and with one of the dishes completely wrong. What they did deliver was mediocre to say the least. The Thai curry was a tasteless white gloop, the special fried rice had no discernible vegetable content at all. Called them to complain and they said it would take an hour to replace the missing special curry. Got a refund via Just Eat. Will not be ordering again from here.

Just ordered a large takeaway for delivery from this outlet and when arrived the Crispy Shredded Chilli Chicken was soggy and very claggy and the Kung Po King Prawn dish was very bland. I had to reheat all dishes even though I am just 5 minutes from them? I called the takeaway to complain and all I was told after hearing a very clearly upset “chef” in the background that this is how the Crispy Chilli dish is and that it was cooked for long enough and it is fine to eat that way? I have had this dish from them previously and it certainly was not soggy and chewy like this. Apparently this is how it is in a set menu!! Was told that nothing could be done and I would have to try and get a refund through Just Eat. All I asked for was simply a replacement dish and even offered to send the existing one back for them to see it was a genuine complaint!!! Appalling service!! Have used New China for a long time now but just recently the food standards and service have declined which astounds me with competitors such as Hot Wok, Tops Oriental, Imperial Bridge and Chapter 5 to name just a few who all seem to have good reputations!! Poor, Poor, Poor!!!

Delivery 40 minutes late Food arrived stone cold (not even luke warm) Mini Spring rolls undercooked and soggy so were binned.

This was a new takeaway for us and as it was the only one in the area that was open on Bank Holiday Monday, we looked at the reviews and ordered with a feeling of optimistic. We had to wait nearly2 hours for it to be delivered, but the delivery driver did apologise for the delay 😕, but that was forgotten when we started to eat the food, and I have to say it was fantastic, loved every mouthful. Highly recommended 👌

The food tasted bland. The rice and prawn balls were soggy. The starters were all greasy. My daughter was ill after eating her food. This is a take away that I will never use again.

I don’t leave reviews but felt like I should with this! All of the dishes tasted watered down. Satay chicken tasted very odd and my other half was convinced it was off. The sauce barely tasted of satay as it was so watery. Even the chicken chow mien was stodgy and tasteless. The only nice thing was the free prawn crackers, so I think that speaks volumes! Tried to resolve over the phone before posting a public negative review, but absolutely no answer. Unsure if the phone was off the hook (we ordered online via JustEat). Will absolutely not be ordering again.

Terrible service. Our order took more than two hours and was cold and congealed despite us being ten minutes away and we were told that it was due to the pandemic. The manager was laughing when he said this? So wrong on so many levels. Such a shame. This used to be the best Chinese takeaway in the area by far. We will never use them again.

Always a busy take away business and with good reason, we almost always have a great meal from here for reasonable prices but sadly because of how busy they can get on very rare occasions some items have been below their very high standards and will continue to use them as long as it's of high quality. Really tasty and doesn't feel as heavy as some other Chinese takeaways. Good portions, especially for the mixed starters. Haven't not come here in years, I think that this will become my regular now.

The spare ribs were very fatty and greasy, special fried rice was mainly just rice , not much pork, beef or prawns. I don't think i will use them again.

Been using this takeaway for years but sadly it’s been going down hill! Burnt and old tasting chow mein, curry sauce doesn’t seem fresh blob of jelly and the Chicken is like eating a sponge..

After many years of using, the owner Mary left with a new girl taking over, we ordered last night when it was delivered it was the wrong meal, House special chow mein with gravy was wrong. As we order this every time and I made sure it was the correct meal I called and complained. She offered to replace it as she admitted she had written wrong meal down said it would be 1 1/4 hoursAs this was the main base for our meal I said we need it now she offered to give it free next time but I said what were we going to eat as it was the main course? She argued and said she was busy I said it was unacceptable ........she hung up on me.Opened remaining food and the ribs were wrong , and the crispy duck was disgusting only tepid and all slimy we through it all awayWe won’t be going back.... then over an hour later a driver turned up with the correct meal I said it was to late now take it back, he didn’t speak very good English so 5 minutes later he finally said. You no want? I said yes please leave Never again

We had a takeaway on a Friday night and although it arrived promptly it really was not of a very high quality; crispy beef and crispy chicken were wet and sloppy, the Thai red chicken curry had beef and prawns in it, chow mein was tasteless. The whole things just tasted a bit cheap. We won’t be ordering again.

We found this Chinese takeaway after out local one in Ascot closed down. We have now used this one 3 times in 2 months! They do a traditional Chinese curry aswell, unlike many others that have gone to the red/green Thai styles. Very good and tasty food. they do deliver as well (over £15?), although we have picked up each time.We will continue to use this one once a month. Very good, with friendly and efficient service.

Decided to try a take away from here tonight as other half raved about a squid dish he had that's was lovely. I ordered a chow mein and a chicken dish. Chicken was like rubber and the meal was tasteless and pretty inedible. Ebony the chow mein was below par. I will stick with my usual Chinese takeaway in future. Gave it a try but not for me.

New China never fails to produce a great meal. Never had a bad meal from this takeaway. Food always comes piping hot and full of flavour. Very sad to be moving out of the area, simply because we can no longer eat here.

I used to love the food at the New China, however since it's changed hands it's gone down hill.I had food from here at least once a week for many many yearsI tried it shortly after the new owners arrived and the food was awful, i decided to give it another go after reading a few good reviews on here and whilst the food was better it's still just average.I'm a big fan of Chinese curry, Ken and Mary's (previous owners) sauce was amazing, however the one i just tried last weekend was bland and tasteless i'm afraid.Special fried rice wasn't great either, time to look for a new takeaway.The new owners are extremely friendly and the service is good, however the really need to improve the food in my opinion

I just had a set meal for one for lunch .... at under £8, where you get 5 sweet and sour Chicken balls, egg fried rice and any standard meat main .... full portions not a bit of each like many others! Fabulous value and great taste, I travelled from Heatherside for this as the one there has gone down hill, as have the 2 in Lightwater. Excellent and I will be back!!

Having lost our favourite Chinese takeaway which closed quite some time ago we thought we’d give New China a go.

We have been getting take away from here for years and out last visit was probably one of the best we ha e had very tasty and not too greasy.

Nice guys, I ordered by phone it was ready in 10 minutes how efficient. A very tasty special curry with egg fried rice and free chopsticks! They maybe skimped slightly on the meat nevertheless I’d definitely return.

So i use to go here all the time then new people took it over and it was not good so i tried it again tonight and its not changed the food is so bland no taste the rice is soggy curry has no taste its such a shame but they really need to up there game and make the food like the old owners . This take away has recently changed hands. The food quality has improved however they serve it in plastic containers which will melt if put on our chinese hotplate candle warmer.

I don't like give a review to a food takeaway, because I know different people have different a taste. But I was shocked by seeing someone threatening to give a bad review on the internet, just because the owner haven't given them a bag of prawn crackers for free. I live in Bagshot 35 years, I buy the Chinese food weekly, I only used the HONGKONG 97 before, after the New China has changed the ownership, I tried the food there, they make the best Chinese in town. The takeaway always very busy, I have to wait for quite sometime during the weekend, but it worth to wait for the nice food.

Felt the need to update my previous review. Sad to say Bagshot is going through a Chinese takeout crisis. HK97 was only ever ok at best, and now seems to be about to start its new life as a barbers. No great loss. But New China - new management, lovely people, but…

We have been going to the New China for many years, but after our two recent visits will not be visiting again. The food is now completely different, and not so tasty for our palates. The chop suey was in a rather bland sauce, and soggy, which made it quite tasteless. We did not eat that much of it as it was that bad for us. Needless to say we will be looking for somewhere else for our Chinese food in the future.

Had the best ever fish and chips takeaways. Strange to say from a Chinese takeaway. They were cooked to perfection and large portions.

Oh dear! For a treat we decided to have a Chinese meal and were surprised to see it was under new management and I'm afraid to say we probably will not be going again! The kitchen was pandemonium with orders being mixed up and the food was not even average. We had the prawns in garlic salt with chili which was a favourite but somehow this had turned into a tempura like prawn dish. As had the squid, but to compound the issue the actual squid was like rubber and practically inedible! The food was only just hot and a little bit tasteless.

I have always used Hong Kong 97 in the past but as this has now closed I thought I would try New China. I ordered a few dishes and was looking forward to trying their food. Unfortunately I was in for a big disappointment ! The spring rolls were very stodgy and smelt of old fat so I threw these in the bin. The next two dishes were not much better so I also threw most of these away. I would personally never go back.

A great but very busy takeaway , can't fault the food but on a Saturday night probably best to order by phone first We called in as we were passing , it was a 40 minute wait .... but worth it

We would like to thank the owners and chefs as you run an outstanding restaurant, its that good we do not eat any other Chinese food locally, food is packed with boosting flavours, they will even cook your own choice of dish however their menu is full of great dishes, we honestly can't get enough of this place. Great variety, great dishes, great value and great customer service a massive well done

Have always used "the place opposite" for our Chinese take-aways, but sampled New China for a change.

Love Bagshot. Lived here for 10 years now and the highest restaurant per capita count of anywhere I can think of, sustained (well, the better ones) by the rat-run through the High Street. I've tried them all and there's a complete qualitative cross section. If you're after a real treat and feeling flush, try Moguls for a curry. If you're after value and consistency, New China's the one. Top-end take out quality; standard prices. I particularly like that they keep the hatch to the kitchen open so you can see them cooking. Never had a bad one in 10 years. Best consumed with a G&T; or a nice cold bottle of Gewürztraminer. Make sure you try the sweet & sour chicken balls!
