Imperial Hong Kong Take Away in Surrey Heath

Ordered a chicken chow mein with cashewnuts over the phone as not on the men. This is the second time that this order has been incorrect! Phoned, the lady said she had confirmed the order over the phone twice, problem is, the language barrier, difficult to understand! Plus, this is another fast food restaurant who only take cash, or so they say! They do in fact take card, you just need to insist!

After using this takeaway for years, but not ordering for quite a while I was extremely disappointed with the food. The food was all extremely tasteless and the sauces looked below par. From reviews I found that management had changed and unfortunately this has resulted in below par food. Shame as it was great before. I won’t be ordering again.

Used to be my favourite Chinese takeaway , however since changing hands the quality of the food has gone downhill , their curry sauce is too watery and the spare ribs very tough, shame as i love chinese food

Having just had a long and difficult phone call to try and place a order, It turns out they are under new management and can no longer offer gluten-free. This was a brilliant Chinese takeaway however now we will not be ordering from there

I had the mixed meat with gravy on rice, enjoyed the ingredients but it was so bland. The Ho Fun was hard and not cooked long enough and again lacked any taste or seasoning you'd normally get from a dish cooked in a very hot wok. The wonton soup stock was good, enjoyed the large wonton skins but the meat content was a very firm unpleasant texture and again underseasoned.

The portions are HUGE. NB this place is CASH ONLY We shared a single portion between the two of us.

My favourite Chinese, the sweet and sour chicken is lovely and the delivery guy is always kind.

Do Not Order ! Argumentative ! Got order wrong ! I ordered about 10 times over 2 years time ish, the person (Female) who takes order on phone with limited English, hence gets orders wrong is the direct consequence. This happened twice to me. First time I let it go, but second time again. The worst is not the wrong order but a guy who speaks better English took over the call and started arguing. Instead of admitting the errors and exchange the dishes, he actually blamed customer for ordered wrong dish despite female worker admitted on phone that she got the wrong order. Based on his attitude, this is the end of my business to them. There are other customers who also reviewed here the same thing, they get orders wrong, arguing and blaming customers. So it is common thing. If you don’t want to get your weekend ruined then take your money elsewhere. Just read their reply below, still arguing, they just cannot shut their mouth and think why many customers here reviewed the same thing.

Hi had our first delivery from here last night after hearing good things from people. On the positive side the web site ordering and delivery to Camberley in 30 mins was outstanding, and the Chicken in Spicy Black Pepper Sauce was great. On the negative side the rest of the food was pretty awful; 3 of the 5 things we ordered went straight in the bin after checking them out.

This has been the first time me and my family have had a Chinese Takeaway from this restaurant and I have found it absolutely amazing. We ordered Aromatic Duck, Chicken Balls which are the size of half a chicken breast (1 = 8 of them) with Sweet and Sour Sauce, Beef Curry, Prawn Crackers and Spring Rolls = Amazing. It felt an absolute delight to be able to get a Chinese Takeaway from a new restaurant that not just when you dine in it is good, you are able to get the same enjoyment eating in and a takeaway which is a huge achievement which this place have been able to bring it to us (especially me). To change scenery and comfort is good. To cut to basics and levels, I have found the food incredible meaning by the food coming to my house in good shape and format and being able to buzz it in the oven for a few minutes is phenomenal. We started with Aromatic Duck with the duck and cucumber etc and Hoisin Sauce. The main was incredible with it. What the food and work brought to the table was truly significant and a side of cuisine dining, I haven't really been able to find and acknowledge in a fine way. Oh, when I say what it was like to get tucked in, it felt amazing. At the end, if you can believe it, I felt stuffed. I also noticed the Fortune Cookies (2) in my kitchen, I tried 1 and the statement awaits for you inside feeling is just a good vibe. To be honest, the Beef Curry wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst if you know what I am trying to say, but I don't see how it should down a star at all. I think the chefs should get a lot of credit for making this lovely food for people on a daily basis (not just us). Out of all the places I have ordered Chinese food from, this is the best I have ever ordered but a very huge amount. Amazing Cuisine!!! I will definitely be ordering again. Highly Recommended 5 Star food!!!

First time ordering from here. It came in good timing & overall it was pleasant. I did find the aromatic duck slightly too salty for me.. but I generally don’t have a lot of salt in my diet so could be ok for others. The mix starters were a good size portion. We had salt and pepper chicken wings- but probably wouldn’t order them again. More preference though. Very reasonable price wise too.

Awful take away. Have been using this take away for years. No sauces with crispy seaweed or prawn toast. Waited an hour for delivery. Stone cold food.. very poor! Not good enough.

After many a year trying all the Chinese takeaways in the area in the hope of finding somewhere decent this place seems to have upped its game and we had a great meal! Since Hong Kong 97 closed its doors we have struggled to find decent Chinese food. Opening on the same if somewhat smaller site this place showed promise but it never matched the the 97’s standard and we fell out of love with it. We gave it yet another try the other week. Wow! Hats 🎩 off to you guys it’s certainly improved. We had a massive order for the two of us and bagged all the leftovers for the freezer and two more meals for both of us. We’ve just finished the second frozen meal. Even great reheated. You have done yourselves proud, everything we had was awesome and better than anything else in the area. Mixed starter, sweet and sour chicken balls, pancake rolls, been sprouts, Singapore noodles, beef chowmeim, kung po chicken, egg fried rice, prawn crackers, all great. Needless to say, we will be back again 😁

Had a special curry in Saturday evening. Absolutely disgusting the sauce was watery no flavour and as for the content I'm to polite to mention it straight in the bin .don't use this establishment

Had a delicious takeaway which was very tasty and the quantities were ideal. One small item missing were the pancakes for the duck but well done otherwise👍 Requested a delivery of 6.30 and delivered on time. Fully recommended.

This was a perfect meal food was all cooked perfectly not greasy and arrived all still hot. However We had a rocky start with our order through the website as payment didn’t go through and didn’t get notified but once we realised they fixed it for us straight away and even delivered our food faster for the inconvenience really good customer service and very friendly staff thank you imperial :)

Have been using these guys for 18 months. The only time I don’t order from them is when they are away on holidays which isn’t that frequent. Love the food quality and portion sizes. Not the cheapest but also reliable, fast and friendly.

Best Chinese I've found in the area. My go to order... crispy chilli beef & duck chow mein... doesn't get better than here in bagshot. Partner cannot get enough of the prawn toast and chicken wings!

Rediscovered Imperial Hong Kong after a few years away and now it’s our go to Bagshot takeaway, super friendly and fantastic food, along with some really different dishes if you fancy a change.

An excellent Chinese take away. First class food, always. Home delivery makes them perfect. I'd be amazed if you could find a better Chinese takeaway anywhere.

The peking duck pancakes were delicious but after that it went down hill. Chicken was dry and over cooked, crispy beef was soggy. Very disappointing. Our normal Chinese takeaway is closed this week, we thought we would give Imperial a try, we won't be ordering again most of the mains went in the bin.

Ordered recently as our usual Chinese takeaway closed on a Monday. It used to be our restaurant of choice, so thought it would be ok. The food arrived luke warm & pretty awful, think they must have changed chef or owners. Won't be ordering again..

They don't have the best Chinese food tbh. Their beef and chicken chow main is bland as hell. Their sweet and sour chicken is just.... meh. There is a Chinese place directly opposite i would advise going there. They know what the fuq they're doing. I only go to this Hong-Kong place if the other 2 Chinese places in Bagshot are closed. Maybe they're only good with HongKong dishes? 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway in the area we have been using it for over two years and the food and service is consistently excellent well done everyone at Hong Kong Imperial you should be very proud of your efforts.

Tried for the first time, really enjoyed it. Very pleasant and helpful lady on the phone, (who's English was perfect) and quick delivery. I'm very fussy about Chinese food, tried one other in bagshot high street and not too impressed, very pleased I found this one to satisfy my taste buds. Will be a regular from now on. I must say, I don't find reviews on their use of the English language fair or relevant, as this has no bearing on the taste/quality of food.

I think this is the worst Chinese take away I’ve ever had! Spare Ribs were mostly fat and tasted of vinegar and both the King Prawn and Chicken fried rices were inedible, tasted like they hadn’t been cooked in clean oil. King Prawn fried rice had 4 ropes excuses for prawns in it and the Chicken was on the missing list. Complete waste of money as it all ended up in the bin. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this place at all cost!

Food was awful paid £50 for a meal for us the chicken curry was so thick and you could taste the powder in it £9 pound for a 1/3 duck and it made 3 small pancakes mostly fat the chow main was oily the only thing what was nice is the prawns and prawn crackers Very disappointed

Just ordered a Takeaway for the Imperial for our Xmas Eve meal. Sadly it did not live up to our expectations. We ordered the Hors D'oeuvres, Pork chow mein, Crispy shredded beef & Sweet & sour chicken balls. The chicken balls were nice, as was the chow mein. Sadly, the crispy shredded beef was nowhere near crispy but soggy & rubbery! The Hors D'oeuvres was a disaster with the ribs, dry & without sauce, the spring rolls & wontons undercooked & the prawn toast soggy & rubbery. So bad that it ended up in the bin! Sorry to say that we will be going elsewhere from now on.

First time we’ve ordered from this takeaway and was expecting your normal run of the mill chinese. This was so much more than run of the mill. Every dish was very tasty and flavoursome. If we order a Chinese we like it to taste of what it says on the menu. This one certainly did. Hard to ‘big up’ a chinese but this was well worth the money and we will definitely be ordering from this place again. Excellent.

Just had our monthly takeaway from imperial and am inspired to write a review. As usual supper tasty, great temperature for a takeaway and all the favourites on point, the chicken balls were like large chicken fillets rather than little balls.

Great service, arrived within the timescale, was hot and so fresh! Really impressed with the quality, not at all greasy and no msg. Super happy to have found a little gem of a Chinese as they are hard to find.

We very rarely get takeaways as they are often expensive and disappointing. However, the takeaway we ordered tonight was brilliant - everything was cooked perfectly from the sweet and sour chicken balls to the squid in my seafood fried ho fun noodles. We will order directly from them next time as they enclosed a leaflet explaining that they are trying to stay afloat despite paying a high commission to the delivery company we went through.

We ordered quite a bit of food for just two of us, but have to say that every bit of it was great and very hot, the only thing I would say was that the seafood soup could have done with some more seafood. We spent about£60 and some people will say excessive, but we say was well worth it, best ever tasted and would highly recommend to anyone.

Tried this place tonight due to the decent reviews. The mixed starter was really bland and couldn't decide what the dipping sauce was supposed to be but was just bland orange sauce that was vaguely sweet. My main wasnt great (chicken in yellow bean and cashew), the sauce was OK apart from needing some salt but the chicken had been cooked within an inch of its life. It was very dried out and the edges almost jerky like. I had to give up on it after a couple of pieces as was really hard to eat. Sadly didn't live up to expectation

My absolute favourite place to order from. Being pregnant imperial ALWAYS meets me standards. Always hot food. And it's always good food. My favourite things are the pork dumplings. Thank you!

Food was OK, but not like real Chinese food... to local for me. Kung pay chicken was closer to sweet and sour children with water chestnuts and onions (breaded deep fried chicken). The garlic Bok Choy was great! Sweat and sour pork was just ok.

We got the sweet & sour tofu, broccoli satay and the fried tofu. (Udon noodles were made at home because they don’t sell vegan udon!) Great options for vegans, staff are friendly and helpful and food tastes amaaazing!! Tofu is spectacular. Love it!

The best Chinese around the Camberley/Bagshot/lightwater/Frimley area for sure in terms of value for money and food quality.

Just finished our set meal b for two. We were worried about our having arrived so quickly for a Friday night (just half an hour!) that it might not be good. We were wrong! We are fairly tough critics, we've had a lot of takeaways and I cook lots at home, and can honestly say this was really very good. Food fresh, piping hot, generous for the low price. Crispy, crispy beef, flavoursome sauces, crunchy fresh veg. Lightening fast delivery! Whats not too like?

Situated in the High Street near a couple of pubs-handy! Lovely food, decent portions and friendly service. It most importantly has a five star hygiene rating which none of the other Chinese take always have.

We normally use New China, but they are closed on a Tuesday, so decided to try Imperial. Ordered a beef curry and chips, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed, a Pad Thai, which was delicious and a Spicy Thai sauce with prawns. This was really nice, but I would have preferred a Thai curry sauce as an option but not on the menu at the moment. We also ordered a side of chicken balls. These were the best we have had from any Chinese. Proper chunks of randomly shaped chicken, not greasy and beautifully cooked. We may be swayed to choose this takeaway in future. Although the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars was that the prices were significantly higher than new China.

Great food, as always, and incredibly precise delivery (within one minute of specified time). Very happy to pay the very reasonable delivery fee for great service. Fantastic spring rolls, only meant to eat one but the second one disappeared too! Can't fault Imperial, totally recommended.

I live in the village and have used Imperial Hong Kong takeaway often since it re-opened. But, alas, this time the chef must be on holiday!! Burnt food, poor quality meat, greasy not enjoyable at all and very pricey now. Will now go over the road to the New China as they are much better. Although I live just around the corner from the Imperial, they charged me £1.00 for delivery - New China is free delivery if you spend a certain amount.

Order from Imperial alot, always arrives hot and the food is faultless. Would always recommend.

Ordered as a takeaway, absolutely disgusting. The food is barely warm. Fair play to there timely manner however I can hardly eat any of this food it taste vile. I ordered here based on the reviews. What an absolute let down. Waste of money as everything went in the bin!

Im regular customer here, saw the negative comment, just want to mention, the food has been consistently good for me every time. The staff speak good English and very friendly. So not sure what is the fuss all about from the other person.

There are three takeaways in the area and this one stood out for me. Kung Po Chicken, Malaysia samba prawns, Peking Ribs my favourite dishes. Food has been consistently good here. Highly recommend!

Based on the previous reviews I decided to give this place a try. What a mistake, it was awful. Special noodles were tasteless, the veg curry a brown sludge with a few veggies thrown in, the salt and pepper chicken wings looked refried and were dry, I asked for dry spare ribs meaning no sauce but they were indeed very dry (again recooked). Should have known this place is substandard, when ringing in the order they asked for cash in return for spring rolls being thrown in. Avoid.

DO NOT order from here. The people can't speak or understand English. It has happened more than once that they couldn't understand orders despite being repeated to TWICE. Delivered totally the wrong dish to me and refused to issue a full refund. My partner had food poison after eating a chicken dish from this place. There are better and safer Chinese takeaways elsewhere who actually deliver your food correctly.

I have been using Chinese takeaways in the whole area for over 25 years. In the last year or 2, I found the quality and standards of most have fallen ... a lot!! So much so I have been going without. HOWEVER, last night I decided to try this place and glad I did!! Delivered on time, hot and very tasty!! Meat is tender, dishes are what they should be ... nor bottles sauces etc! Will be back many more times.

Really good Chinese takeaway. Competitive prices and great service. One thing that Bagshot has is a veriety of food outlets from other countries and pubs serving great quality food including some interesting restaurants. And the bonus is that as a village most of them are only a brief stroll from each other. Enjoy and do ask the staff for their favourite meal, it might surprise you to try it.

It was a bit of a while coming. The refurb of HK97 to the new Imperial HK couldn’t have happened at a worse time, coincident as it was with New China changing hands and culinarily falling apart. Shame, that was our favourite. But we have the IHK now. Standard of food is similar to the old HK97. Decent quality budget end. We’ve had half a dozen or so meals from them now since reopening. Probably not quite up to the old New China but way better than the new one. Complimentary prawn crackers are nice. Chicken and pork dishes are best; beef not so good.

Popped in for a takeaway on my way home. Had a set meal for one plus prawn toast. The chicken balls were incredible. Beef dish was amazing and the prawn toast was out of this world. Best takeaway I’ve had in years and would highly recommend. £8 for the meal for one. Far too much for one person but somehow managed to eat the lot!

Friday evening at eight, and very quick service. Lovely flavoured food, pleasant service. Parked outside. Very happy.

Just had a delivery from this place , arrived in good time , food of a good standard , I was particularly impressed with the hors d’ oeuvre starter , and highly recommend it, that said I was impressed with it all , it’s rather hard to find a good Chinese take away and I’m glad I found this one. Will certainly use again

Finally we have some real Chinese food in the area, tried the place opposite (something China) before when HK 97 closed down, but not nice, very salty food and just very avearge, glad to see to old owner (stella) still here, friendly staff, also like their new facebook page they always have some special promotion, big portion on the rice and noodles dishes. Quick delivery even on a busy weekend, will come back for more!

This was our first visit to Imperial Hong Kong as we had heard some great reviews about them and they didn't disappoint us. The food was great and it will not be the last time we visit them.

Changed from my usual on a recommendation and couldn't be happier. Food was spot on for what I was expecting and it came a good 20 minutes earlier than what was expected on just eat.

We returned home later than usual on a Saturday afternoon/evening as decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese takeaway.
