We were staying in the area and called in for food last minute. The proprietor was super friendly and welcoming. The food was all homemade and tasted great. Very good value for money and fantastic service especially as they were short staffed at the time. Would definitely recommend and will return.

I've been traveling to Britain for over 20 years and I have always defended the antiquated notion of how bad British food is. However, the Neuadd Arms Hotel serves food that has been one of the worst meals I've had in my 20 years of traveling here. It was at least edible which is a low bar to achieve. We thought the outdoor seating would be lovely because of all the brilliant sunshine but the many lorries barreling through the town in front of the hotel was unpleasant. Strange that the towns people/landowners didn't place a hotel on the beautiful river's edge. The Neuadd Arms Hotel isn't the only establishment that received low marks in this town. More reviews to follow.

Due to the mixed reviews I was unsure about visiting but I was mistaken. The staff were friendly, welcoming & super helpful. The barman was knowledgeable about the drinks on offer & the waiter was patient during the difficult decision of pudding choices. The food was delicious - especially the hot pot & ALL the puddings. My children cleared their plates - this does not happen often. If you get the chance do pop in, please do. You will not be disappointed.

Very friendly family run Hotel. When they say “Dog Friendly” they mean it. But dogs are under control and other guests are not disturbed. We spent three nights at the hotel as part of a walking holiday with our large dog. The walking is really good with walks for most abilities. The hotel appears to be the centre of many community activities and there were many regular repeat visitors from various parts of the UK. The owners were actively ensuring that all guest were being catered for (including the dog). Food and drink is reasonably priced and freshly prepared. Recommended as a family friendly, dog friendly, busy place to stay

Ate supper here late March 2022. We both chose the Lamb and Leek hotpot with root vegetables and mashed potatoes. It arrived hot on hot plates (I'm quite fussy about hot food and plates) and stayed hot until the last mouthful. The hotpot was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. A good fun atmosphere here helped by Claire who is a lovely bubbly helpful young lady. The owners were lovely too of course and so were their gorgeous dogs. Would eat here again.

Staying overnight with my wife just 5 minutes walk from the hotel it seemed an inviting spot in which to take dinner. The attractive Grade II listed building at the very heart of the Square appeared to be ideal. Welcomed upon arrival and escorted to our reserved table by the window we felt comfortable and at ease in the atmospheric dining room. Studying the menu over glasses of Sauvignon Blanc we ordered starters of carrot and coriander soup with fillets of seabass and a Madras curry to follow. The soup arrived, hot and tasty, with a strong showing of coriander and accompanied by nice fresh baguettes and butter. Meeting our initial expectations it boded well for the remainder of the meal. The seabass served with new potatoes and a salad was nicely cooked - the firm flesh enhanced by a rich jus, although as I remarked to the waitress I would have preferred to see a crispy skin. However, my wife being familiar with various curry dishes thought her own food "edible" but lacking in any discernible heat. Having consumed the first two courses the young staff had up till then provided a competent and efficient table service. Some 25-30 minutes subsequently elapsed before I was obliged to ask for a dessert menu at which time the table was cleared. With only four tables occupied (including our own) it appeared one particular party that had arrived sometime after ourselves were meriting special attention. Our friendly team had taken their "eye off the ball" and not noticed other diners waiting! In the event we decided to conclude the meal without placing an order for desserts.

When we walked through the door I felt like I had stepped back in time. The decor is stuck somewhere in the 40/50s. In keeping with that, the service was extremely slow and we had our strapping 17 year old grandson with us who was hungry. So much so that after a long wait, my husband went into the bar of the hotel and came back with two packets of crisps for him and the lady on the next table burst out laughing. It was an ice breaker because it started a conversation. The food, once it arrived, was OK but nothing to rave about. The restaurant was memorable for the wrong reasons.

This was a last minute booking due to our camping holiday being rained off, but what a great find! Our room was a little 'tired' but with a large comfy bed, big fluffy towels and a shower so powerful it nearly knocked you off your feet, we were more than happy. Service was second to none, from Lindsay carrying out a couple of repairs in our room quickly to Catherine taking our wet boots, jackets & trousers after a very wet walk and putting them in the boiler room to dry out over night. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals were superb (especially the currys and the steak, not forgetting the stilton & walnut pate. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful making our stay a very nice experience. Thank you Lindsay & Catherine and all your team.

Excellent service and the food just right. We ordered sandwiches and they were perfect but I did regret not having a hot meal as the menu was substantial and would have satisfied anybody. The people I was with had made other arrangements prior to our visit and they were also disappointed not to have had a good wholesome hot meal. The one downfall was not the food or drink but the décor and the carpet were a bit dated and a little t.l.c. would go along way. We visited for a family meal whilst staying at a nearby guesthouse. Having booked a table in the restaurant before arriving in Llanwrtyd, my initial reaction when I arrived here was to turn around and walk back out! I looked past the scaffolding on the outside, which I considered irrelevant, but it was the interior shabbiness which put me off. The bar area was not particularly welcoming with one or two locals in situ. The restaurant decor was very dated, with dead flies scattered around. We were therefore surprised to receive good, friendly service, and very good food! I’m glad we didn’t turn around (we were tired and hungry!) but a lot of people would! Such a shame when the food is good. Deserts were homemade and delicious. Rightly or wrongly, the lower score reflects the appearance and the decor.

Was staying locally and decided to have dinner here. I see they have a few good review, but if felt it needed a lot of TLC decor-wise, in fact it looked grubby in the bar area, which was helped by the total lack of atmosphere. There is a huge menu, they pride themselves on their curries so my partner tried the chicken madras but it was full of potatoes and very little chicken, sauce was good though. We decided to eat in the larger bar as there was no one in the dining room at the time. The bar was full of friendly locals. We ordered three curries - Lamb Rogan, chicken korma and chicken jalfrezi. My husband went for the homemade beef in beer stew with mash. The pub is also a brewery so he thought it should be good. We also ordered two half and halfs (half rice, half chips) and one rice. Three naans and homemade onion bahjis. All served quickly and everything tasted good. My lamb was particularly good.Would recommend eating here. It's a friendly atmosphere and the dining room has had a make over. I thought the bar we were in was looking fairly tired and good do with a make over. But don't let the decor put you off.

Went to eat in the pub. No room as the pub is tiny. Went into the restaurant. They took our drink order, we ordered a bottle of wine. They then took our food order shortly after. The food arrived, the wine never did. We had to ask again for it, and then twice for a jug of water. The specials board is not in the restaurant so didn't realise that existed till after we had eaten. I wasn't overly impressed with my steak and ale pie. It was more like a stew with a biscuit on top.The waitress asked if we wanted desert, then asked us what we wanted without us even seeing a men. She then reeled off a list of about half a douzen choices and we had to make an instant decision. Not great.Had to leave the restaurant and go and pay at the bar in the next room.Would have liked to have stayed in the pub afterwards and had live music on but the pub is very small so not really any room.Had sampled some of the pub's own ales earlier in the day in another location. We were hungry and every where else was closed, very expensive or served mud pies in the guise of food.We went in to the pub of this hotel expecting to walk out again as we had with other pubs and had a look at the menu. We were surprised to see it was a hotel as well and the dining room looked inviting. So we decided to risk it as other people were eating in there. The menu had a good mix of traditonal British food and curries and lasagne. I was naughty and chose Scampi & Chips my Partner chose beef . casserole and mash. The portions were a good size with good quality ingredients that were cooked to perfection. The chips were magnificent some soft with crispy edges others crispy all through, devine. The beef casserole had good chunky pieces of tender well seasoned meat with a delcious gravy and lovely creamy mash. The other good news is that they have their own brewery and the beer is jolly good. We were so impressed we returned to dine a second night. I had a juicy Sirloin steak Medium rare cooked to perfection with the most beautiful tasty mushrooms and those wonderful chips.£12.95 My partner had the lasagne £7.95 which was full of meat well seasoned with a stunning cheesy sauce topping .The food and drinks were also well priced and the staff and locals were all very friendly. Local famillies were eating here too which is always a good sign Their website is a bit old hat and to look at rooms you need to go to "booking".

We ate here two nights running as we had enjoyed the first night so much. The pub has a lounge and a separate restaurant room off this and we ate in both - a nice and relaxed atmosphere was had both times. The highlight was a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak, with delicious mushrooms and chips to die for but all the dishes were of a good quality and very reasonably priced. The hotel does a standard menu - steak, scampi, burger, sea bass, lasagne and a few veggie options - plus a specials board and a curry selection (with veggie options again). There are also starter specials. Price-wise mains are typically under £10, although the steak was £12.95 - still excellent value.Staff are very friendly and helpful, as are the locals lining the bar.The hotel has its own brewery and provides a good range of its own beers at low prices (less than £3 a pint).Pub is dog friendly & child friendly.Highly recommended.

Had a nice meal here, hubby steak and ale pie, said it was delicious, I was envious as I can't eat beef. I was torn between the cheese and onion pie (childhood memories) but opted for vegetable lasagne and I have to say, it was the nicest I have ever eaten, anywhere up to press. Again big portions so no dessert! Ah well! Such is life.

The Neuadd (pronounced Nai-ath) Arms brews its own beers on premises, and they are marvelous. The food is great, too, and the people there are very welcoming and friendly. The Neuadd Arms is simply a wonderful place to eat and drink, especially if you like real cask conditioned ale in an absolutely genuine Welsh pub.

Liked the atmosphere (the two friendly dogs wandering around only add to it!), good food at a good price. The lamb shank was delicious and service was pretty quick.

We called in here to watch a rugby match while having a weekend away. We were delighted to find that own brew was brewed on the premises, so pint in hand we wandered into the bar to watch the match. After an initial feeling of being outsiders in a local place for local people, we were made to feel welcome by everyone. There was such a nice atmosphere that we decided to stay and eat there after the match. After choosing from a menu with some lovely choices, we enjoyed a lovely meal, good sized portions and decent quality at good prices. The surroundings were in need of a freshen up, but it was comfortable and friendly. I would certainly go back here to eat if in the area again.

It was quiet when we went, but the menu offered great choice. Local produce well-prepared, alongside some interesting curries and other options. We chose a lamb shank and a game casserole. We started with a prawn cocktail and a goats cheese quiche. Everything was delicious. The bar keeps some very interesting real ales, and staff were able to provide very helpful advice to inform my choices. And the costs of the meal were extremely reasonable. All this produced in a very friendly atmosphere.

We only took tea in this old pub - it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. We asked for cake and the lady who took our order looked surprised and said she would 'look' - in fact she returned with the tea and some ginger cake which was acceptable. The outside seating area of the pub could do with a clean and a sweep up, but otherwise it was enjoyable.

We did not come to Llanwrtyd Wells for the pub or beer, just happened upon it walking round. Then realised it was the tap house for the Heart of Wales Brewery! What a surprise and a great local. Did not want to leave for our dinner booking.

Very old style hotel and restaurant, never to many people in at lunch time, very very hot curry. Standard of food good but NOT over clean, and dogs running around in the restaurant. You will get a warm welcome and good selection of ciders. It needs an update and a deep clean.A small town with a few places to eat but I liked this place, it has a SOMETHING, but I cant say what.

Return visit, very good value. We been for a long walk in the hills and needed a refuel and relax before the next day's expedition. We visited here earlier in the year and remembered that this was close to our B&B so was just the place for a meal and a visit to the town centre.

Stopped here for lunch. Good selection on the menu, with something for everyone. The curries were very good. Tried one of the local beer (Aur Cymru,), which was great. Old fashioned, but intentionally so and all the better for it

Stumbled on the New Inn for lunch. This little pub turned out to be a bit of a gem - great, home cooked food and friendly staff. A good local crowd too to add some atmosphere!

We stayed here for bed and breakfast while enjoying walking in the National Park. Rooms are spacious and clean, if nt a little dated. Friendly service from staff and a fabulous breakfast. A nice chilled atmosphere to the hotel. All reasonably priced, and we look forward to returning again.

We stayed here a few months back and found the place to be excellent again! Last time the breakfast service was poor due to a member of staff, this time the complete opposite ! The pub is amazing and has a nice atmosphere, the restaurant is lovely and the food excellent ! The staff are all really eager to please, the breakfast as I mentioned was excellent with great service ! Room 12 is a challenge for a 6’2 person but comfortable ! The bath should be replaced with a shower cubicle really but can’t fault the place overall and will always come back even if in room 12 :-)
