Nepalese Gurkha Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Im sorry to say but this place has gone downhill... the dansak full of cheap ingredients...and to make things worse, we we short changed when paying. will not be coming back again:(

The restaurant was really nice and clean and food is great test all time nice staff and very good ambiance good service.

Phoned through for a takeaway at the end of a day being a busy tourist. The food was lovely. Warm and fresh. It did not taste like commercial food but homemade. We had 2 chicken dishes and a couple of sides. We were informed as soon as food was ready and it was hot and delicious.

What a little gem of an Nepalese restaurant/takeaway In camleford cornwall. Fancied something spicy for dinner and didn't even think I would find somewhere but when I got my food I was more than impressed the flavours were amazing and the naan bread was very good. Would def recommend trying here if you staying in the area.

Lovely food but it is cash only and they didn't tell us when we rang to book a table or when we ordered. We barely had enough cash to pay. Very embarassing

Ordered takeaway to be delivered to Juliots Well Lodges. Food turned up on time, tasted great and was great quality. One of the best Nepalese / curries I’ve had. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great curry.

Went here today as camping locally. Food was amazing and staff all very friendly.

Omg !! Wow !! We have traveled the full country and when I say this has to be the best food I have tasted the meat is delicious all the food is impressively fresh the flavours was delicious thank you so much we had a lovely night good owners and lovely conversations not to be missed !!!

Delicious and flavourful. We had the king prawn rasilo and Nepalese kukhura piro each, with keema naan, egg fried rice, momo and pokahreli Haas. Would highly recommend.

Dont let the rather run down exterior put you off because the food is wonderful.. staff very polite and friendly.. a very small restaurant with a huge welcome and the is devine.. keep up the great work.. very well deserved positive feedback. . Loved it.. Thank you. .

The food was literally inedible, I ordered the vegetarian starter platter it was drenched in grease. It had 3 items and no salad for £7. The curry main was disgusting and so salty. Wasted all my meal honestly it was vile! Never again

Just ordered a takeaway drove 10min from Tintagel on arrival food was ready piping hot . The meal was excellent fresh and tasty , great service and excellent food thanks will visit again when on holiday in the area.

We ordered a takeaway tonight and can honestly say it was the best curry we've ever had! 20 min drive back to our holiday cottage and the food was still piping hot. Service was friendly and with a smile. Thank you 😊

Best we’ve had in years by a million miles. Even the naan and rice were amazing!

Food was way below standard.. Hygiene and taste for everything we had ordered was absolutely bismal.

Really disappointed had to wait 2 hours for our food which turned up stone cold as they sent our first lot of food to a completely different place and said we didn't ask for delivery which we did. Was a whole lot of fuss for nothing tbh. Won't be ordering again. So hard just to get the food ordered and the address down to be delivered. Had to speak to 3 different people as was wondering where my order was as didn't turn up for nearly 2 and a half hours and then tried charging me extra. Not on I still have hungry children

Average to rubbish food at expensive prices

This is a Jewel in an Oasis. The food is fantastic from here, we ate four nights out of five. Quality chicken, fabulous tastes, great service and really live people. Would recommend 100%

Lovely little place, and wow, we loved the food! Very tasty with some real different dishes (the spare ribs are awesome). Have left very full, almost needed pushing back up the hill. Super friendly with a warm welcome. Very highly recommended if you’re in the area. Hopefully see you again at Christmas! Thanks for a smashing evening!

Best Indian/Nepalese in the area. Very friendly and uniquely to the area they actually DELIVER!! We had starters, sides and mains and we can’t fault anything. Would absolutely recommend.

What a wonderful, cosy restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and seated in front of a roaring fire. The food was all incredible, particularly the fish curry, which was full of spices and curry leaves. Highly recommended!

Brilliant food, each main will server two, great service, best takeaway in Camelford, kebab shop excepted! Can pay online for takeaway, cash in shop! By other, I mean tea time!

Sadly i don't recommend this place, visited Saturday evening very run down interior, at our table the plates and cutlery were covered in a greasy film, I wiped them over with a cloth to make sure they were clean ( as I did not want to make a fuss). the food was ok, I have had much better back home in Salford/Bolton but this was the only takeaway locally, (nothing exceptional) but on Sunday afternoon I started with the most horrific stomach cramps and later that evening I had a fever and other symptoms associated with FOOD POISIONING. avoid

Absolutely amazing tasty Nepalese/Indian food especially the Kala Dahl! Great friendly service - so good we returned for a second night! It might be the only Indian restaurant for miles around but it’s a very good one (& we live in London so know our curries) 😉👍👍👍

Really friendly staff.. The delivery driver was very friendly and it was delivered fast.. The food was fresh and full of flavour.. This is the best food I've had around here for quite a while... By far the best place to eat in Camelford... Seriously check this place out before wasting your money on other eatery's... These guys care and know what they are doing...

Stumbled across this restaurant on a road trip and had the best Nepalese curry!

Absolutely delicious. We had the Dansak and Tikka Masala and both were beautiful. Lovely tender meat and not oily. Highly recommended.

Unique experience, like home cooked Indian food where you help yourselves to your drinks and plates. If you want silver service it's not for you, but if you want a bit of fun and good food where you end up talking to other diners just to share the experience then go for it!

Visited now called curry and rice, like no Indian restaurant you will have visited, get your own plates, knives and forks and drinks. Limited seating so you sit next to strangers who become friends, loved it. The food is cheap but the quality is out of this world. It's cooked with home made love and taste fantastic. Authentic honest Indian food. All I can say is go and enjoy.

One man restaurant. Help yourself to drinks and plates. Tgen order food what you like. Little menu but you can ask whatever you fency and cook will make it for you. Food is okay. Just look at dates on soft drinks before consuming. Might be out of date. Cook is very welcoming and will look after you.

A unique experience: the chef asked us if the food was good for us before serving it. Very cosy place, great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

You have to visit this place. The chef and owner is a star. Cooked just how you like it. He's entertaining as well.

Chicken curry was smelly.. Saag paneer had no salt and the the spices were raw in the Dal.. Overall quality of food was very poor. Only saving grace was that the staff was friendly. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great curry and rice and of any type just ask. Nice man Mr Bari and he's 70. Also he's a one man band so needs time to cook serve. But really good food. No starters or desert just curry and rice.

A unique experience at this restaurant which is actually known as Rice and Curry. As other have said, you find a table (not many) place your order directly with the owner who is also the chef, get a drink from the fridge and wait around 10 minutes when you will then be invited into the very tidy kitchen to taste your dish and make any changes to the flavour, mine was perfect first time. Then you get your plates and cutlery and then you are served what will be the tastiest curry dish you've ever had. Brilliant find.

Brilliant food, cooked to how you like it. Can't fault the food at All, Mr Barry himself is so lovely, very welcoming & all round top chef! Look forward to my next visit :-)

It was a great curry just the way I asked for it to be cooked, the portion was just the right size and the chicken was lovely and the staff are very friendly and they always ask to make sure you alright I would definitely recommend this place for visit if you like curry

Wow, had read about it on trip advisor. DON’T BE PUT OFF WHEN ENTERING a unique restaurant. Met by a wonderful man, who also was the chef. He told us to find a table, help ourselves to a drink out of the fridge, glasses, cutlery, etc. A “white board” explained the basic menu, BUT basically ask him to cook what you wanted! My husband asked for a chicken curry I asked for a chicken saag. We both asked for fried rice and chapati. We opened our drinks and waited, locals came and went, asking for takeaways and telling us that we would be getting a wonderful meal. One even said they wished he would open up on a weekend. More people arrived, and soon the place was full. Our meal arrived, bought on a rickety trolley, by the chefs wife, dressed in her national costume, wow. It is so long ago that we even offered another couple to share our table, but we did in this place, shows you what the atmosphere was in this special place. Wish this restaurant was near our home, as we would love to taste more of his food and share the experience with our friends and family. Well done chef, if we had to choose between you and Local celebrity chefs you would win. Value for money and unique experience.

Something a little different, at first glance a small menu but don't let that put you off as the chef will cook your choice of Indian cuisine. So good we went twice in the one week. Both the chicken and beef was so tender!! Don't expect full table service, It's not, you choose drinks from the fridge / wine cabinet and get your own plates and cutlery.

Brilliant casual restaurant. Small menu but the chef is happy to cook you like. We went last night and me an my 3 friend had amazing service and great food. I would recommend this place to everyone how likes a curry in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
