I can't give any stars for the food it was disgusting and not edible. We took a quick stop here on the way back from buying our kids school uniform. My child's cheese burger meal had a dead fly in it. I had to show this to the staff who kindley replaced it. However we also ordered x2 lamb tikka in naan and fries. The lamb tikka and naan was not cooked properly the lamb had an off taste and was raw and the naan was very dry and hard /rock solid. The fries also tasted bitter and were dark yellow in colour, it tasted like the fries was fried in old oil, tasted like oil had not been changed in the fryer for a very long time . I took one bite of naan and lamb tikka and I had to send the food back because it was not edible. The staff kindly refunded me for the food because I could not eat it and I did not want a replacement, I was put off by the whole experience. My poor husband however quietly ate his food even though the food was not up to scratch as he didn't want to make a further fuss because our whole experience in this place was already ruined. Neelams many years ago going back 15 years used to be a good place to eat but it has gone down hill. The staff don't know how to cook the food, advice for the owner is send your staff for training or get them to visit a place like Lahore Village to learn and observe how to make naan, lamb tikka etc as they clearly have no idea how to make desi food. Sorry I have had to put this negative comment but this has been my worst food experience ever and I will not be returning.

If I could give a -3 I would. I was service raw fried chicken and when I raised it with the staff he tried to tell me it sometimes happen when you cook food 🤣 he argued with me like I was being extra, it was STILL RAW and he wanted me to pay for another meal if I wanted something else even a replacement because apparently I wasted chicken. Absolutely shocking. Never again.

Food was delicious, the jolof rice and lamb biriyani are a must try!

I was charge £8.50 for donner kebab and fries which didn’t come with a drink it was cold shop kitchen doesn’t look clean there special offers that are advertised was not even on as I ask what’s the point in advising if that’s not on didn’t make sense please avoid

Hygiene was absolutely appalling would not recommended the chicken tikka naan there was no taste. i would not recommend this place. a couple weeks back one of my friends went in there and they had food poisoning from the chicken it was very undercooked. never going in there again hygiene was disgusting.

Last time I went was back was.in 2006 and the place was good. Been twice in.the last week and the quality of the food is very poor and the place was dead. Very expensive and I wish I had read the reviews. Pls don't go there as you are wasting money.

This place has been around for decades and was a local legend. Unfortunately can't say the same anymore. The staff are clueless and the food is horrible.

I ordered from Neelams in bearwood. I requested for a thick base. When it came it was a very thin base... every slice that was taken was breaking in between. The pizza was soggy and floppy. No way could I eat this with my hands... you had to use a fork. Neelams was just the best.... Now absolutely rubbish . Family visit on Friday night, £7.50 kebabs! bread was uncooked, meat was cold and slimy and the sauce was rank!, kebab had no flavour at all,staff seemed to be lost. Had no change,had to go and get cash from elsewhere... Wish we had gone elsewhere! Sad.

Extremely poor! Neelams has been under new ownership for a while and the new owners just arent to up it. Paid £6.50 for Chicken Pakora and fries. Very small portion of Pakora that was blasted to death in the microwave with ok fries. The pakora was obviously not fresh and was very hard and chewy. Shame it used to be great there!

Terrible, the pizza was undercooked and when we sent it back to cook for longer that bitty was still undercooked. Shambolic, my toilet was crying for two days after that

Went here yesterday & have ended up with food poisoning today. We ordered chicken jalfrezi, lamb curry & 2 shish kebabs, with naans. They listed on their menus they have aloo gobhi and chicken & saag but when you ask it’s all non existent. The naans were rock hard as if the dough had been sitting for god knows how long, the lamb had virtually no lamb in there only big lamb bones, the chicken jalfrezi was watery, with raw peppers floating around and the tiniest morsels of chicken ever! The shish kebab took 25 mins to get to our table and they were grey, smelt like cheese and after regretfully taking a bite it was confirmed that the chicken was clearly off and inedible. The gaffa also over charged us when she seen the extra money in our hand and took a fiver just for the fun of it! Never experienced such poor quality food in my life! The gaffa who likes to pretend she is not the gaffa should take responsibility for her business rather than shouting on the phone and then hiding away when we had come to get our money back. Maybe if you paid attention to the quality of your food you wouldnt be so argumentative & defensive over food that is unfortunately out of date & smells very unpleasant. The gaffa needs a wake up call if she believes the food is edible let alone nice. Won’t be coming back here ever again that’s for sure! Do your best to avoid unless management changes.

Neelam's Kebab House used to be popular with locals and students but sadly the good days are no more! Quality of food was disgusting! I'm sorry for using such words to describe food in general (which is a blessing) but this was terrible. I genuinely hate any food going to waste but in this case, even my cat turned her face when offered some of the chicken kebab. To make things worse, the customer service is now non- existent. Such a shame

I have used Neelams for over 20 years! I used to really enjoy chicken Pakora, naan & fries. For the first time we went last night and spent £18. We waited for 40 minutes for the order to be completed. There was no one else in there?? When I got home the Pakora was tiny, red and stale, I nearly broke my tooth!!! The fries were full of oil and looked like they had also been left out for hours. The naan bread was stale and you could smack it of the table like a table mat. We ordered 2 lots & it all went in the Bin. Don’t eat here! Lesson learnt!! The old days are gone.

Worst service disgusting food I came out the chip shop and threw the food away they have no idea what they are doing I'm absolutely astonished they are serving food neelams was very good bk in the day don't bother now

Garbage food, don't eat here! Used to be great years ago but sadly any more , worst scores on the doors food hygiene rating of 1 out of 5, basically means you shouldn't even be selling food. Saw behind the scenes and hygiene was disgusting, used to eat here for around 20 years but won't be bothering any more. Very sad how it's gone downhill under different owners.

Neelam's has been my favourite kebab shop for about 30 years however the last few visits have been consistently poor. The shop has no heating and is always cold and there isn't anywhere to keep food warm after it's been made which means that it is left on the side as the rest of an order is put together. By the time the order is finished the food that has been prepared first has been sitting on the counter for at least 10 minutes and is cold by the time you get to eat it. The standard of the food has also dropped considerably. Neelam's is not local to me and I always have to drive there so my review not based on a late night drunken kebab!! Last night was definitely my final visit as I can get fair better nearer to home.

Very poor Chicken Tikka . It's become really bad with new cooks there. The old man was great and his sidekick with messy hair. Use to be the best chicken tikka in naan in Birmingham. I'm going to have to find a new place now.

Neelams used to be a good place to eat back in the day. But not today. I ordered a donner burger, and was served a burger where the meat was luke warm and not hot. The man who served me was unsympathetic and argumentative when I complained, he didn't ask if I wanted a freshly made one or offer a refund. So I left the burger on the counter. Hence the reason for my review. Dear customers please be careful what you order online or in- shop as uncooked meat can lead to food poisoning.

Donner kebab was absurd , the fact that they thought it was acceptable to sell rock hard doner meat was an insult to my intelligence or reflection of what they think of their paying customers. Thank God the diet coke was in date.. yes I had to double check .

Definitely not impressed! Havnt been there for a while and wish now i hadnt gone back! Ised to go there all the time! Food was awful! Just as well there wasn't much of it! Spent £15 and wished I hadn't! Had Pakoras which were so dry and over done and cold! Chicken Curry which I didn't recognise as chicken curry. And I don't know what the rice was but Definitely was not fried rice! So all in all I will NOT be going there again!! And would NOT recommend it!

Honestly one of the friendliest takeaways in Birmingham, not to mention the food was perfect 👌 I recommend the donner burger

Chapli not a chapli - some flipping omlettes os some shirt. They used to have great chapli. Time's gone. Who really knows what that spicing is hiding. Realising that - already stacked with five of - so dissapointed. Haven't tried the spinach I got - with the sneaky chaplis - cannot rish "a russian" with serious skin disease going off back to prepare. Not a good place any longer. Yuck and muck, I tell ya.

A big NO! Everything is frozen and stored until it starts rotting! And it happened twice!! Once ordered chicken wings.. I could literally foul smell it! Horrible! I also dialled them to inform, the phone was hung on my face telling they are busy!! The restaurant has degraded after the owner is changed! Never recommended!

I ordered food yesterday and the order was not correct and items missing. I spoke to the new manager who now owns the shop who was very rude. The standard is not the same quality and I was told it is the same chef which is not true. I now realise why for the last few weeks why I have had so many problems with just eat and now Uber. I won’t be ordering again which is a shame as I have been ordering from Neelams for over 25 years 😩

I called to ask questions about a meal, the employee couldn't speak English, was rude, unprofessional and was palming me off with the price then he hung up on me, when I tried to call back they didn't answer because he could see my number, when I called from a different number he answered. Really ticked off, never ordering from them again.

Staff was good and friendly, the chicken pakoras were nice but shavarma could have been better.

We used to order from Neelam's every week but in recent years it's gone downhill. They've had a revamp but the food doesn't match. They need to go back to basis rather than trying to be a jack of all trades.

I went here at 1.46am on Monday 6th of August 2023 while waiting for my food a rat ran out from busy the till side around the counter and into the back it needs to be closed down

I have ordered lamb biryani …i always use to order from this store but this time the food was off no salt ,no spices seems like eating cooked lamb with rice .I tried to reach to the store but he said he don't know anything as he didn't cook and when i asked about manager he said he’s not available plz call after 1hour and when i did call after some time he replied the same .Kindly request don't waste your hard earn money for food from this store .Very disappointed and will never going to order from this store again .

Food is bang on. I recommend the 'Mintys Special' a guy call Saf knows this 👍🏾. It's a mixture of chicken with rice or fries with loads of salad. And the portion is bang on!!!

Got order wrong..no idea how u can get mixed kebab with no sauce wrong..came loaded with sauce...kebab tasted horrible like it was off. This place used to b ok yrs bk..now it bad. Also food was cold and 30mins late...guy didnt care when i rang...lucky i wasnt closer or else id have laid them a visit.

Absolutely appalling!!! A huge health and safety risk. Shame on local council for not yet intervening!!!! Ordered food for family, and when I saw chef scratching his infected scabs off his arm, I told him to cancel order and left. NO SENSE OF HYGIENE. Hello everyone. Try to avoid ordering from this place please. I am not going to write a long review on if there was chili or mayonnaise on my chips. This is something that’s serious for health. I ordered from uber eats today and chicken stake was raw, smell bad and they literally poured the marinate masala on it. Chips were from yesterday which they put it in oil to warm them. I then decided to ring them and ask them and the person i spoke to was so rude he goes do whatever you want they guy who made ur order is gone somewhere and not back till after 6. I have no driver to send u any food if u expecting that and put the phone down. Thats my £22 of order gone in the bin. Just to let you guys know £22 wasn’t only for steak. Please avoid ordering from this place. Thank you 😊

1. Food arrived half n hour late 2. Chips were soggy and cold 3. Chilli sauce spilled all over the drinks that came with the meal , absolute mess could not drink them 4. Ordered Hawaiian Burger was supposed to be a juicy chicken breast burger that was covered in BBQ sauce , with mayo lettuce and a pineapple ring . They gave a dirty lamb cheeseburger with a few sprinkled pieces of cold pineapple chunks , burger was more dry than the sahara dessert no sauce or salad . 5. The mexican chilli burger was supposed to have jalapenos chillies and salad , however it came with just a few pieces of chewy old chilli pieces thrown into the middle of the burger with no jalapeno and the burger had tasted as if the meat was not grilled properly and had a raw chewy taste . Overall a bad experience and won't be ordering from here again , should have trusted the reviews customers have left before . Would not recommend 🤢

Rang new years eve as had forgotten samosas, needed 25, told 'no problem', ready in 20 minutes. Got there 20 mins later, they were just finishing cooking. I didn't get to have one on the night, they were that nice they were eaten within minutes of being put on the table. I recommend.

Have only tried the Kebab Meal - 2 Kebab & 1 Nan. Freshly grilled, balanced spice level and good taste. Would recommend he Kebab, haven't tried anything else yet.

3 days have passed I still haven't received my order . Nor have the Neelam kebabs returned my money yet . you cheat people ? Today I will complain you to the people of good complaint and to the city council

Chicken tikka and whole grilled chicken with cheesy naan 👍 Came with complementary yogurt and mint dips, sweet chilli dips, chips and salad. All came to around 14 pounds delivered. Always hot and fresh with good portion sizes and they have really friendly customer service. Would definitely recommend neelams and to try the grilled chicken.
