Nayeb in Brighton and Hove

Awful food and so expensive, I ordered two chicken kebabs and was shocked when it turned up only getting 4 pieces of tiny chicken and a portion of unseasoned chips that tastes like cheap frozen chips. Not worth the money at all.

Takeaway and was delivered hot and tasty. I remember when this opened and I passed the other day and they have made such a success out if it with an enclosed covered bit. Lamb chops, and mixed grill tasty flavours, fresh pomegranate in rice, not fatty and nicely tender. Will order again as they are constantly good. Nice salad.

Very friendly and fast. These guys work very hard to produce delicious food. Always heard good things about this Kebab House. Definitely worth checking out and I will be coming back for more.

This place does some of the best kebab in town. Try the ribs you won't believe how good they are. anything I've ever had from them is just delicious, super fresh and tastes so good. Very friendly and kind staff to.

Disappointed today. Ordered takeaway as usual but instead of receiving little pots of sauces, they came already spread across the whole dish which spoilt the meal for my partner who doesn't like bbq sauce at all !!! Also think portions are smaller than before -maybe to keep price the same ? Will have to remember to ask for separate sauces and extra pita bread in the future

On my way home from a sunny evening stroll/dog walk. Decided against cooking and to grab a kebab from Nayeb. After ordering my food I decided to wait outside and grab a bit more sunshine. As I got a couple of steps outside the entrance, a strange thing occurred. One of the staff came out from the kitchen and waved his hand, saying "Can you get outside with you dog", to which I respond that I already was and I was going to wait here for my food. "yeah good" came the response. At which point I thought, if they are this rude to customer, how do they treat the food, so opted to cancel my order. To which I go another wave of the hand and "yeah, good, bye" What strange times we find ourselves in.

Got a take away from here. Chicken kebab and salad was tasty and not greasy. Chips were also nice. Only thing we didn’t like were the onion rings Will be back. Thanks

I’ve walked past Nayeb many times and friends have recommended it to me but I must say having tried it twice, I can’t say it’s anything more than OK. The staff seem friendly and for a glorified takeaway it seems to have a proper atmosphere with people generally eating out the front. The menu is quite varied but having tried the Kofte with rice, I was disappointed. The rice had no distinctive flavour and the Kofte was rubbery and had basic flavour. The chicken wings were fine, charcoaled but no real flavour but they tasted natural. There’s a lot of competition for this type of food in Hove, so although I’m glad I’ve tried it, I think I’ll stick to other options.

Ordered 2 large portions of lamb chops, and this place used to be very good and now I won't return.The lamb had a fruity smell, and it was definitely rancid, they definitely tried to hide the smell by just covering it in so many different spices.

Some very mixed review here! All I can say is this: my wings were cooked on a propper coal fired BBQ in front of me as I waited. Taste, amazing. Best chicken wings I've ever had. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu.

The staff think they doing you a favour. I would never recommend this shop. I ordered over £100 food I waited over a hour for them to come with a excuse that someone else ordered but they did not say we can do it and deliver so my experience was zero assistance The food is average but with the attitude they have no thank you. Stay away you will only be dissatisfied

I rarely write a bad review but having ordered a takeaway for 3 we were very disappointed. None of the meat was recognizable, the portions were minute, and the lentil casserole had so many random things in I think it was the leftovers scraped from someone’s plate. We paid over £50 essentially for 2 kebabs and some lentils. There are so many fantastic restaurants in Brighton and above we won’t try this one again.

Ordered food from here 5 times now every time it’s spot on! Love their chicken wings and their lamb shish! Can’t believe how much food you get for the price as well.

After being recommended by a friend I went into the takeaway and after seeing a wide variety of meat I didn't know what to get, so I asked one of the owners, which one is the freshest? So I could get his recommendation to which he replied, "non of them" I wasn't sure I heard correctly, so I asked, did you just say non of them and he said yes! Now bye bye. I felt disrespected and dismissed, he could of said, " all of them" try, you won't be disappointed! Or anything else to get my custom, but obviously the topic of freshness is close to home. I left without purchasing.

The food was horrible. Couldn’t even see the meat in my wrap. I couldn’t even finish it. So nasty won’t order from this again.

Staff there are really rude, discusting food, discusting kitchen inside, no food hygiene at all. And when you come to pay they add extra money to your bill, when you ask what the extras, they get confused in a rude way. I do not advise anyone to go there at all.

Definitely the best kebab shop in Hove. Would highly recommend the chicken kebab served with rice and salad.

Absolutely terrible establishment would avoid at all cost, was in with a friend and the owner told me to “f*** off” asked for his name he called me a c*** on 3 occasions. Absolute disgrace. Would avoid at all costs! Quite scary.

This place does really good Persian food. We started with Salad Olivier, houmous and salad. We had chicken kebab, meat kebab and I chose Gaymeh. Delicious. Portion size is good.They also do a great trade in take away kebabs and appears to be a favourite with customers from the local pubs.Price are really reasonable. They do not serve alcohol.I really enjoyed my meal, as did my friends. Forget the glitz of nearby restaurants and come here for great food.

I’ve ate here numerous times and I have not yet been disappointed, excellent quality food. The lamb chops must be one of the best I’ve tasted and the chicken is excellent soft and juice with a charcoal taste it’s a bit more expensive than the bog standard keebab place but a lot better.

I've visited this many times for the past 5 years. It's mine and my family's go to place for food.The decor as you enter the restaurant is a bit shabby. But don't let this fool you!Their BBQ grilled meat is my favourite. Its always fresh and the staff are very friendly. The portion sizes are very generous and the prices are very reasonable.Also highly recommend their tea!

Ordered 2 meals which took over 1hr 45mins to arrive. By then I had already eaten something else. When the driver arrive I said I didn’t want it anymore.He made a fuss & then left. The following morning a very racist and just disgusting voicemail had been left by the driver. I would rather eat dirt before every ordering from there again. Shandiz is a few doors down, much nicer people & better service.

My son had a very poorly stomach after eating here. I don’t think hygiene here is what it should be. My special was just awful.

Cold hard dry kebabs. Soggy salad. I read a review saying it’s dirty. I have to agree.

I have lived in the area for years and thought this was just another kebab shop but it isn't at all - meat is so fresh, nice staff and the marinade is excellent.. slightly more expensive than the usual late night kebab shop but you shouldn't compare this place to them. Lamb shish and chicken wings were the best.

Have ordered three times for delivery and all arrived piping hot, box of salad and chilli's, dips in plastic containers of chilli sauce and the white garlic yoghurt dip. Large portion sizes of rice and small chicken kebab (five large pieces and so much rice I couldn't eat it all for £7.50!) Chicken cooked well, nice and juicy. Have eaten in as well, the guys working always helpful to change the tables to seat 6 or 8 of us when we go in a group. Friendly and when eating inside the plates and cutlery all clean, served to the table :) no longer live in hove but everyone I come back i ensure I eat from here. And I am female and have never had a problem with the staff being rude to me, they also always ensure i can pick all my favourite salad parts to add to my chicken and rice :)

If you order a small shish (£7.50) you’ll only get about 4 pieces of cold meat, a couple of spoonfuls of cold rice and a pre prepared box of crap salad. Don’t waste your money. The staff are rude to boot.

Don't be deceived by the small place, its a bit run down. But the food was beyond amazing. Succulent meat with fluffy rice. Deffo would go again for sure.

We come here every week for a special lunchtime treat to get us through the week. All food here is first class, good quality fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend the lamb in spicy lentils (gameh). Best chilli sauce ever!

Ordered through dinner 2 go tand Delived really really quickly by Nayan. Food piping hot. Salads, hummus and yogurt side dishes chilled. Lamb and chicken kebabs very tender As were the minced lamb kebabs. Plenty of rice with each dish. Thoroughly enjoyed by all.

While I was house sitting in Hove I had take-away from Nayeb on three occasions. Each time I ordered a chicken wrap or a lamb wrap, both were delicious. Lots of filling, salad, pickles and I chose the garlic mayonaise sauce. At 6 pounds I thought it was value for money.

Had our first home delivery from NAYEB, food was excellent will definitely order from here again, one criticism the chips too thin and soft not my favourite. Tip have the salad instead instead of the chips.

One of my favourite Persian Takeaways. The Kabab Koobideh is always so tender and delicious and comes with a hearty portion of rice/chips. The Chicken Kababs aren't quite as generous but still tasty. I have never eaten in but often order for delivery. They even gave me flatbread, when requested, to come with my salad oliveh!

Easily some of the cleanest and freshest food in town. Ask for chicken, rice, flat bread and 8 x chopped salad-amazing. Thank you guys

We are addicted to the food here. It is amazing. The rice is so silky! We get a delivery every few weeks so can’t comment on the restauranr but I can’t fault the food. Best Persian in Hove.

I love this place. Ok the guys are not excellent English speakers but they don’t need to be - all that matters is they are very polite and the food is great. Be adventurous and don’t just order a kebab ok? Like lamb? Try this - ghormeh sabzi. It’s tender lamb with fab flavours of lime, fenugreek and spinach and red kidney beans - all slow cooked and goes with the softest rice you’ll ever eat! Mmmmm. Trust me you will love it!

I seen the person in one of picture splitting in someone delivery order when asked why is he doing that I was told that he didn't like that customer who order this food, felt really ashamed would never eat food there again.

The Kebab wrap rounded off a perfect trip to Brighton. Really tasty and the service was swift and the staff and manager/owner were warm and very friendly. Highly recommend

Thanks Ali amazing never had a kebab and it was so good. We had been recommended to try nayeb and so glad we did. Food was delivered fast and hot. We both opted for the chicken kebab which came with plain and saffron rice with berries and salad. So glad we had the recommendation only wish we lived closer.

Absolutely love the chicken kebabs with rice infused with saffron and berries. The garlic and hot sauce they give with the meal is delicious and the staff is super friendly! I also enjoy their Shirazi Salad and Hummus!

The worse experience ever since new management took over, the meat is never same as before and food is not money worth, the food taste is more like afghani than Persian, rubbish customer service and not hygiene, very expensive and not safe to go there with family or girl friend as the owner and staff kept staring & talk in different language within each other and most times been over charged. I will never go their as i caught the owner overcharging us at last visit about £20. I am sorry but i will call then thieves, please check the bill before paying.

We went here as a family (2 adults plus 9 and 8 year old) when visiting my mum who was temporarily in a care home in Hove. We wandered past, had a look at the menu and then had a look in the chiller cabinets inside and decided it all looked very nice... and as it turned out, it was.We ate in. The staff were very welcoming. The decor was slightly plusher than your average kebab restaurant. The atmosphere was nice; there was only one other diner in the restaurant. There were interesting photographs of the wall, mostly of Afghanistan. The cutlery and crockery were all clean and perfectly fine for a meal like this. The toilet was... not great... adequate.Food:Whilst the chicken nuggets and chips for youngest was fine (rarely is this dish a gastro delight!!), the eldest ventured for the Shish kebab and rice which he absolutely loved. I had a mixed kebab (fantastic kofte and the excellent chicken doner) with the rice (nicely cooked with barberries) and salad (which was fresh as a daisy) and other half also had a really delicious chicken dish (the name of which I forget). The food was simple, fresh and nicely prepared. I would not hesitate to eat here again. I really enjoyed the flavours and simplicity. 5 stars for the food.Well worth a visit if you're in this part of Hove.

I just love this place. Their chicken kebabs rock. And come with rice rather than chips. Which is great. And the rice is super tasty. A great stop for a healthy, quick take out.

I visited here for something to eat after a long day and was impressed by the menu because of the variety on offer. I had the mixed kebab with rice and salad and for £8.50 it was perfect. The meat was tender, the salad fresh and served to me at a table outside.When I went to pay, that was when they took their time but to be fair they were busy. I will definitely be back.

Be sure to read the menu twice not to be surprise with the food you pay for.The food is nothing like what is on the menu. The taste and smell of it just put you off . Had to bin it all . Wasted my money. Will never order there again. AVOID!!! Rated 1 star but really deserve none...

Chicken swearma stone cold , when called and spoke to the manager to ask for a refund was told to return the "evidence "and was told that it was wrapped in front of me , true , but taken from the off cuts sat on the side of the piece of meat spinning on the skewer ! Never would have thought it could be that cold , and no tahini , have traveled the globe , never been told that before ! to be perfectly honest even the cat would NOT eat it , and this cat is partial to all forms of meat , dead or alive !Have have excellent food on previous occasions , this was not even good ! and as others have commented there does appear to be a problem serving Women , have gone to most countries and have always respected their own cultures and customs , Please , Please if you are employed in the service industry in the UK ,you should be prepared to encounter other species , males are not the only kind , remember everyone has a Mother , P&L to All of the Creatures on Mother Earth ! !

Visited Nayed just to grab some food to take to work chicken was perfectly cooked salad was crispy and fresh bread was also freshly cooked the ocra and lamb soup was also very good along with the price all in all a great meal

I ordered lamb shank and after 1 hour waiting I received my food and they sent me chicken instead of lamb . I called up and they said we didn't have lamb to send . And guy offered me my money back or I can chose some thing else . I think if they didn't have lamb shank they should call and inform customer not they choose a dish by themselves and send it to me ..clearly if I wanted Chicken I would order one , I wanted lamb shank and they send me chicken instead

Second time this has happened that the have left me waiting well past the point the food should have been here. I phoned to ask what was going on, not only had they not even started making my order but they were planning to just send me something I did not want as they did not have what I wanted. Also the second time that has happened. Normally quite good, but last few times have really spoiled them for me.

Iv used this place 6/7 times in the last few weeks absolutely love the food. Service is great too. Thank you afghani brother from another mother. Will be over again next week as iv been away on business.Also would like to say a few things to the faceless reviewers......Iv read some of the bad reviews on here and they made me chuckle. One girl wrote "racist towards woman " how on earth does that happen. Same girl wrote about another eatery "popadoms should be a part of dinner", as in she shouldn't have to pay for them. What we all should look at when using trip advisor is the person leaving bad reviews as they are mostly written by individuals who are sad and malicious. I'm not saying all but most and it's easy to figure out genuine critics by reading other reviews they have posted. Iv always considered delivery service by food outlets as a favour. They are bringing food to my front door for little or no cost to me. If I do decide to accept their kindness of bringing me my meal I should expect to it being a little late and slightly colder than it would be if I collected it myself for various reasons. Get a life......Rant over.

Nice food but AWFUL service. I've ordered a couple of times and it's always so late. They also have items on their menu which they cannot deliver. We ordered the tea and the delivery driver turned up with a bottle of water as a replacement. Very rude etc But the food is nice!

I'd always loved this place..good food and no delivery fee. I've probably made a dozen orders in the last year or so and have always been happy. Yesterday I ordered what I usually go for -chicken shawarma- but was really disappointed. The portion of chicken had been cut down by half. I was left hungry and with a load of plain rice. It's a shame, cause it used to be one of my favourite no-fuss places. Might have to find a new one.

Delicious, healthy, authentic Persian food. Quick, hot, no grease in sight. Salads are fresh, crunchy and diverse. Garlic sauce and chilli are flavoursome and compliment the dishes. Everything has got that lovely grilled smoky flavour, and the lads in there are lovely too.

While on a trip to Brighton I had a serious craving for a kebab and did a quick Google to find this place a 5min walk from my hotel.Nayeb is one of those hidden gems,somewhere you wouldn't necessarily notice walking passed but once you know it's there it would become a firm favourite.I ordered a large chicken shish from this very friendly man, which was served with rice ,salad and two sauces.The chicken was incredibly tender and had amazing flavour both from the hot coals and the marinade and the sauces gave it just the right kick to keep your taste buds guessing.This is the type of food I wish I was able to cook at home as it's just so full of life.If I am ever in Brighton again I will definitely be coming back here

Last time we ordered was horrible , slow service and the guy on the other end of the phone just lieing to us every time we rang - however the delivery guy both times has redeemed the nayeb name, apologetic, helpful and remembered me - he , and the great food are why I will continue to go to nayeb. They also owe me a free desert which helps
