Natural Bite in Southend-on-Sea

The food, drinks and setting are amazing. Very affordable and the owners and staff are an absolute delight. Excellent views across the estuary just add to the charm.

Only my 2nd visit to this fabulous hidden gem in Leigh on Sea, after recommendations from family. The food is amazing. I have had the vegetarian breakfast twice, and it has always been cooked to perfection, with poached eggs to rival those of celebrity chefs. The decor is very clean and attractive, with a lot of natural wood and brick. The menu is extensive, and nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff, who have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. Prices initially seemed a little high, but after tasting the food and coffee, you really do get what you pay for, and it is worth every penny. Thank you to the whole team at Natural Bite for making this my favourite breakfast venue.

Lovely little cafe with super friendly staff! We sat on the terrace with a bit of winter sun which was gorgeous. Great vegetarian options and the good was all cooked perfectly. Shame I don’t live nearby otherwise I would visit all the time! Thankyou!

Always a super friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. The food and service is the best in Leigh. The views from the cute outside area is lovely. I always enjoy going there :) the veggie breakfast is amazing !

Excellent plentiful food, really friendly service - nothing was a problem, all diets catered for. And the amazing view was the cherry on top. We'll be back soon

Love this café we came for breakfast was greeted with a cheeky smile outside the cafe and guided inside. What a cool place with a lovely little outside terrace to sit under it’s almost easy to miss this place with a larger restaurant to the other side but wow don’t !! Miss it !! that is The food is amazing the staff too !! I will be coming regularly for my breakfast I feel Thankyou natural bite for making the start of our day a brilliant one !! Lins and Russ

First time visiting and not disappointed - lovely place, spot on service and food was nice. I had halloumi and roasted veg toasted wrap - very tasty and filling. Definitely would return.

Wanted a low carb friendly cafe type place to eat and saw this place advertised with good reviews. Service was very friendly and efficient. The food was really good and our needs were catered for. There is so much competition in the area but we would call again without doubt.

Requested table for 4 plus dog . Nothing available ... come back in half an hour... but will you take my name and hold a table when free....no, and we don't take bookings. Came back in half a hour .... no table available ..... it looked like some of the people at tables had changed ...again told come back in half an hour....a bit ruder this time. My advice is don't go back if there isn't a table available ! Shame they don't have a better solution than this because the reviews are good and it has now put us off ... now looking for other dog friendliest that allow dogs inside ...unfortunately the grove next door which is very good doesn't let them inside which isn't great if it's cold or wet !

Absolutely gorgeous. Magnificent views and delicious healthy food. Service a little slow but not bad considering it is very busy and staff shortages. Didn’t mine waiting in the very pretty environment. Thoroughly recommend this place ♥️

I’ve been here twice in the last three days. It is so good! So welcoming and the garden area has been brilliant in this lovely weather. Both times with my little boy who is 2 and it was no trouble at all with him. Very accommodating. I think this is my new favourite place. I’ve had the halloumi wrap here with an iced coffee on Friday and today I had the Californian eggs - the turmeric hollandise was so good. My partner created his own breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait to come back. Is nice and cosy inside too. Can imagine coming in the winter for a nice cosy hot drink.

Came here for brunch and was sat at a great table in the garden area with the most incredible view. Food was lovely , had a full English breakfast , coffee and smoothie. The person who serviced us was so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be going back. Would recommend.

Excellent place for breakfast! We popped in last Sunday with the intention of sitting outside with the lovely views. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great and it started raining. The friendly staff quickly accommodated us inside. The food was served quickly and was of an excellent standard. The coffee was also lovely. On a very busy Sunday morning service, the staff were all attentive and friendly- we will definitely return and highly recommend!

Have been to this restaurant a few times and the breakfast have been perfect every time. On occasions the waiting staff are a little rushed as restaurant busy but the order is always taken with a smile and food arrives in good time

I've stopped by Natural Bite a few times in the last year and always get a bright welcome from the team. I'd highly recommend the cooked breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, etc) now we can dine again :-) Their flat white is soo good too!...

We visited Natural Bite this week and were really pleased with the vegan options available. The avocado, mushroom and cheese toastie was delicious. Very friendly atmosphere. We will be visiting again soon!

Heard it was under new management so went along to try it out - we do love finding new cafés to enjoy! We were not disappointed. The food was healthy and delicious. My aunt is a fussy eater but really enjoys wholesome food, so she was very happy with her avocado and halloumi on sourdough. My mixed veg and halloumi wrap was delicious and my 4yo son polished off a giant cheese and ham toastie with veg crisps. Quick and friendly service, yet left alone to enjoy our food when it arrived - a great balance. We will definitely visit again in the future.

Now under new ownership you will be guaranteed a warm welcome. My wife and I recently had breakfast and were very pleased with the service and quality of the produce. As we are locals we will using it regularly and look forward to trying the lunch.John

This restaurant is surprisingly large, it goes back a really long way, and has a garden at the back, which I imagine will be lovely in the warmer weather. We visited at around 2:30 on a Saturday, and it was still really busy. The new owner had just taken over and he was very friendly. Lovely latte, and cute pot of tea. We had a toastie and a wrap, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere is very cosy, with cushions on benches in the back area.

A nice independent cafe which does a great weekend breakfast and it opens at 8:30am which is good. Delicious coffee to have in or take-away too.

This was our 5th visit to natural bite. The inside part was empty possibly because the Leigh folk festival was on. We decided to take advantage of the garden dining area overlooking the estuary. Our order was placed (two coffees, eggs royale and smashed avocado and vegan feta cheese) and we sat and waited. The food arrived and was absolutely lovely as it always is. My only slight issue was that the two coffees took ages to arrive to the point where I had to ask if they’d forgotten? My breakfast was nearly finished by the time they arrived. They seemed a bit weak too. I would still return because the food is really good.

We had brunch on a Sunday morning last weekend and our dog was allowed in too!We chose to sit outside under the veranda which was covered with lovely bunches of grapes. There was also a small tree with pears on it which was a real treat!The menu is not large for breakfast but has something for everyone. They state on the menu that due to the size of the kitchen they cannot swap any of the menu for anything else. I would have preferred to have just poached eggs on toast without the smoked salmon but I did enjoy it all the same. My husband chose the full English which was also very good. All of the food was good quality and plentiful. Staff were all very polite and helpful.I don’t know why we haven’t tried here before and we will definitely be back.

The rustic front is the entrance to the Alladins cave that is a beautifully decorated cafe with an extensive garden to the rear that looks out over the estuary. The menu is extensive with great options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. It's set apart from other more pretentious brunch places in Leigh as it does simple food incredibly well with lovely touches such as sweet potato dip and fresh salad with sandwiches. The smoothies were incredible and the service was second to none with a warm friendly welcome and speedy delivery of the food which was very reasonably priced. Even the dog was welcome which was the icing on the cake. I shall be returning to the peaceful environment of Natural Bite very soon.

Ate here for lunch two days running! Being vegan it was nice to see several options and no chips!! One day I had the vegan breakfast which was divine. A big plate of delicious food, the sausages were tasty, and everything else was fresh and lovely.The next day I had the vegan omelette, oh boy! This was fabulously delicious! Full of fresh ingredients and a really nice texture. A very happy tummy on two occasions. We dont visit Southend often but always come here and are never disappointed. Staff are happy and helpful, prices are decent and portion sizes are very good. Would totally recommend!

We visited natural bite purely by chance as our usual place was closed. I’m so glad we did.

We’ve walked past many times in the last 2 years, sometimes grabbing a very good coffee on our way past, but not tried anything from the menu till today.

Stopped off to meet up with three friends. Sat outside underneath a sail like cover with a nice view over the water. Unfortunately we were asked if we'd mind moving as a bigger group were wanting a table which we did. It then started to rain and we all had to go inside to sit at the booths. Found the seating for 4 people very cramped. Cakes were delicious. Staff were friendly although the young girl taking our orders kept forgetting what we wanted.

This was our favourite place locally to have breakfast and visited weekly. The menu has now become a vegan breakfast. Meat eaters no longer welcome unless you want a baguette. Apparently the chef couldn't handle making breakfasts. Going elsewhere now which is a shame. Not sure the business model is going to work.

My husband and I visit semi regularly for a bit of brunch. Coffee is great, vegan food is nice and we can take our well behaved dog in with us.

Popped in here a few times and have really enjoyed the sandwiches. Place is really cute and is pretty chilled. Good place to have a little snack before hitting the train station. Will be back 100% 👍

Went for lunch today with friends, I had never heard of this place before but I will definitely be coming back.

Went for brunch with my partner and all I can say is - wow! The staff were attentive and welcoming, brilliant rustic decor and an extensive menu which we took an age to choose from! I opted for a flat white to accompany my eggs royale - which were perfectly poached on fresh sourdough toast and dressed with rocket. My partner went for the dirty chai latte with her avocado, eggs and shredded bacon on sourdough which was also sublime. But we weren’t finished there - the staff let us takeaway some cold drinks to give us a much needed Sunday morning boost - a berry sunset smoothie and banana milkshake which were both made fresh in house and served in recyclable containers. All round great place for brunch would recommend to anyone!!

Love this place. Delicious vegan breakfasts and love the sourdough bread. Good to have Omni and vegan options for eating out with in laws. The added bonus is it's just up the road from us too 😃

Have previously bought takeaway coffee and was impressed so decided to visit for lunch on Saturday. We went for the specials - one fishcake dish and one falafel burger. Was so disappointed as thought they would be “homemade” but rather the burger was clearly not and the fish cakes didn’t appear to contain any fish! Husband had a flat white which was basically a latte. To top it all we both had stomach cramps within a couple of hours. The place is decorated so nicely and the staff are so pleasant but the food was way below average

Visited Natural Bite as it is now called with my wife for lunch today. I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing omelette on the specials menu and my wife had a perfectly cooked Jacket Potato. Stumbled over this place purely by chance, I noticed the vegan word on the specials board, so in we went! A cute place that was very inviting and beautifully decorated. We sat by the window and looked at the menu. Dairy free hubby had sourdough toast with poached eggs and bacon strips, I am vegan so had the tofu scramble on sourdough.

Great fresh food and smoothies. Lovely setting with a great view from the main the outdoor tables and friendly staff.

Visited Natural Bake in Leigh on Sea. We were running late and despite the restaurant shutting at 5pm and the fact we walked in at 4.30pm we were welcomed with a smile and made to feel very relaxed.
