food took very long to come. ordered the spicy wing roulette yet only 2 flavours arrived.Also; me + 4 friends all ordered BOTTOMLESS icecream after having to wait over an hour for stock to come in, and it ran out after we only had 1 or 2 each! we weren’t offered with any sort of compensation- along with workers not being helpful about this issue by providing lack of information or any sort of support. very unimpressed as i had high expectations for this restaurant, along with the total coming in at a ludicrously expensive price!!! will not bring coming again😐

This is very close to Gala cinema area. Very popular to students in Durham. We ordered half chicken and chicken wings salad. Turn out is quite okay. My impression is their chicken is dry, but not this time. You can place order and pay via QR code. During busy hour had wait for more than 30 mins. Better skip the peak hour.

I had an amazing experience at Nando’s, and the standout was definitely the incredibly friendly service from the staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to help. The team made sure everything was perfect, from recommending dishes to checking in throughout the meal to ensure I was happy. It’s clear that they care about their customers and go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The delicious food was the cherry on top of a fantastic visit. Five stars for Nando’s – I can’t wait to come back!

We've only visited Nando's in Durham a couple of times, but it already looks like this will be our favourite Nando's. Despite being busy, the restaurant has plenty of space both inside and outside, which is great for a comfortable dining experience. The staff is exceptionally friendly and understanding, especially towards our need to take care of our little daughter. They provided us with colouring paper and crayons to keep her busy while we waited for our food. This small gesture made a big difference and added to our pleasant experience. Prices are standard for Nando's, and all the usual standards are maintained. The restaurant is clean, and the facilities, including the toilets which are located upstairs, are well-maintained. This setup contributes to a cleaner environment, unlike some places where tables are right next to toilet doors – not the case here at all. I highly recommend this Nando's and will gladly give it five stars. The dishes are served at the correct temperatures, with cold dishes being cold and hot dishes being hot, so no unpleasant surprises with warm salads or cold chicken. The restaurant appears to be sufficiently staffed, ensuring there are no delays in service. Overall, Nando's in Durham is a fantastic place to dine, whether for a quick meal or a relaxed family outing.

Went to Durham nandos on Friday 15th March, we were seated next to the door were it was very cold , after a long wait (35 minutes without food ) we asked if there was an alternative table away from the door , we got told no there wasn't, husband then asked agen and the moved us . After another 20 minutes we asked if our food was on its way as we had been waiting over a hour .

I once gave this restraunt 4 stars but following my experience in recent times which has been poor I would give a zero. I ordered food after a hectic day and it was not delivered. Tried calling and all the members of staff were giving was the robotic answer of " unfortunately we have raised a request and you will get a refund". This is very poor response because 1. It does not serve your customers. Refund is the barest minimum especially when you have evidence the order was not delivered. 2. You keep people's money and expect them to wait for your response and subsequent email. What if that person had no other money for food that day or night. 3. The manager J.E in durham was quite dismissive and rude. Saying how he has worked there for 2 months and this is the first time he was getting that complaint therefore this was rare. That as soon as the order leaves nandos they have nothing to do with it.My order has been messed up twice in less than 6months from same durham Nandos and I am just 1 customer. I placed an order with nandos and if the have hired with an inefficient delivery company, then I will hold Nandos responsible. 4. Nandos needs to have a chat with deliveroo to ensure customers get what the ordered on time.

Sadly I think they were understaffed. Ordering via the QR code is recommended however they never bring the drinks out until you chase. Food came out promptly but there only seemed to be one bottle of lemon herb sauce in the restaurant so had to borrow from another table. My burger was their new garlic bread bun and the bottom half was wet on the bottom. Either sat too long or wasn't grilled properly. Portions for the sides also seem to be smaller than in the past, but that may just be our imagination. The whole experience of Nandos is just getting a bit boring now, having to get your own cutlery etc I don't think saves them any money but it does take away some of the magic of eating out. Probably won't go back anytime soon.

Having been to various Nando’s restaurants across the country, sad to see my local store completely ran down. Had a special meal with my partner to find the food not very warm, took over 10 to 15 minutes to process a gift card and the drink machine was broken on the main floor which was not explained when buying drinks at the till. Was not worth the money what we paid unfortunately for really poor service and experience where I was not able to relax and enjoy our meal. Asked for a complaint form from the manager just to be told that I had to email in a complaint rather than in person… wouldn’t visit again unless things improve.

Came into nandos to kill some time before I had to start work as I figured it would be easy and fast. I was wrong, it took 20-30 minutes to receive our food as well as our drinks which I had to ask them for. I'd understand if it were busy but there were only 4 people in the restaurant. The staff also decided to make themselves some food before starting on our food. Once we eventually received our food the chicken was extremely dry and hardly any taste to it whatsoever and the drinks tasted off, almost dirty. In my experience with Nandos I receive my food within 8-10 minutes and my drinks 1-2 minutes. Extremely disappointed

Went to nandos Durham was greeted by a gentleman, after ordering the food arrived cold and the chicken was over cooked. There were multiple fruit flies around and I mentioned this to the server who didn’t say much, I then re mentioned it to the manager who said they were aware of this issue and were getting it sorted later this week. I think this place should have been closed prior to this or we should have been at least warned prior to sitting down and ordering. I’m a firm fan of nandos but extremely disappointed by this visit and food.

I would have given zero if I can., One of the worst staff I’ve come across., They don’t even care who’s standing at the hatch for drivers., Drivers literally standing at the hatch for hours., no staff mind them., Even it Rains, drivers do stand in there for hours, and no staff cares., I’ve seen staff arguing with drivers all the time, If it’s getting late., they should have informed drivers to leave., They act like they don’t see the drivers at the hatch., Such a pity thing for such a good restaurant., Why should someone wait in the rain for hours to pickup orders.. Was stood at counter for ages then the food was just bland, the sauce is what I go 4 but I still like a bit of taste, the price was shocking, 36 £ for what really was cheesy chips with peppers and a dry chicken breast in a rubbery bun, I asked for everything on it but got a small handful of mixed salad, had to dress it with the extra hot sauces to get any satisfaction out of the meal, Newcastle branch served Mr their hottest dish, chicken livers with three hottest sauses etc and it was nice but that lot in Durham where a rip off

Arguably one of Britain’s favourite restaurants but this one is a let down, we waited at the door for a solid 5 minutes before even being looked at which made my kids feel very uncomfortable. When we finnnallly got served we weren’t greeted with the smile you would expect when you are paying for someone’s services. We couldn’t stand this level of customer service so we just ordered online. A redeeming factor is that the online system is easy to navigate and to order from. From ordering online to receiving our food it took 45 minutes and what we got was cold and hard after being left under a heat lamp, and for the prices they charge it wasn’t worth the small flat pieces of cold chicken we got. The service was dismal at best and the cleanliness was very poor. I don’t believe in 1 star reviews so they are lucky to be getting a 2. Don’t go here.

Have been to nandos in durham before, decided to go tonight for my birthday with family as last time it was a pleasant experience. Waited over 70 mins for food, ive seen the resaurant alot busier at other times so don't understand why tonight was any different. We only had the one aknowledgement from a server saying food was getting cooked, and i believe this was only because other customers were asking about there orders! The restaurant was freezing cold, i actually had to put my coat back on and mys sons coat over my legs to keep warm. Couldn't fault my food, although my partners and sons garlic bread was burnt black on the top. Very dissapointed as by the time we got the food we were so hungry we just wanted to eat and get out, and very dissapointed as bill came to just under £60, might not seem alot to some people, what was meant to be a family celebration meal out was spoilt would not go again.

Fantastic service for this lot today 👏 We love our wings extra extra crispy and medium sauce. Small mistake thinking we meant XX hot 😅 They swapped them with no issues at all, they gave us new sides and a free drink. Great service from the lady who helped us to our table, also the lady at the till was very sweet and the chef did a great job. One of the best Nandos I have been to... we grew up in South Africa on Nandos. Will be back here for sure. Top service.

Bad experience regarding getting Delivery orders, twice we have ordered it's either the Nandos is not grilled properly or no sauces added yet they are free. The managers need to train staff members, to learn that home customers require sauces every time as they're not inside the restaurant, so home customers have no reason to ring 2 -3 times just to ask for Nandos sauces. People order at home Nandos to enjoy Nandos fully with enough sauces which by now should be own that is the sauce that makes the chicken nice.

Lacks the atmosphere I've had at nandos before (no music) Aircon left on from during the day making us feeling cold. Food took far too long to arrive considering the place was only half full and was luke warm and the medium spice was more mild to no spice at all. We couldn't ask for them to re do the food as we had a cinema booking. Would I come back? Not if that's the dining experience they are used to giving.

Service was very slow eventually served, didn't seem very clean as well tbh most tables covered in previous diners stuff.... afterwards had to find the disabled loo for myself and autistic son suddenly questioned by a staff member about all our disability and why I cant climb two lots of steps to use the (NORMAL) Loo... Left very very annoyed we shouldn't have to explain to anyone about why we need a disabled loo... I thought my crutches etc could tell him that......funny thing on the toilet door though 😂

An absolute shambles, food sent back twice, one wrong order and second so cold you would think it had been frozen. Asked by who ever working their things its appropriate to speak to customers with no I.D or uniform at all if we have finished before even receiving the shambles a meal

me and my friend went and as we walked in they told us that there was a 20 min wait, we said that was fine and booked with our phone number and name. then we never got a text so we went back 20 mins later and got seated fine, we had to wait ONE AND A HALF hours for two plates of chicken which i think is a joke, then when we asked to have our food packed into boxes we were given a box and had to pack it up our self’s, i think this is a joke considering we arrived at 7 and left at 9

Visited last night around 5pm we were made aware as soon as we walked in there was some stock shortages on some items but we weren’t worried as we mainly wanted food for the kids. We were sat down and asked to view the menu and order through a QR code…the problems started as we were trying to order but it kept displaying menu errors. I passed the phone to my wife to try and sort it, while she was doing ask I thought I would ask one of the staff for some crayons and paper for my youngest and she said due to covid we aren’t giving those out…my little girl pointed out that it wasn’t fair as other places offer crayons and none of the staff were even wearing masks so what harm would a few crayons do… A minute or so more waiting and trying to get food ordered through the phone we packed up and went somewhere else. TurtleBay was a much better experience, actual menus, table service and even paper and crayons for the kids. Needless to say we won’t be trying Nando’s again.

I had Fish and chips last night First time for months after deciding after my last visit l wouldn't go back . Big mistake l didn't think they could be worse than last time l couldn't have been more wrong After a few mouthfuls they went in the bin as they were disgusting.

Grease is the word. It’s like they made a burger then decided to dunk it in a vat of oil. Slopfest. DNF. You have to choose your sauce and salad with the burger, which is a trend I am not on board with. The fries were like the old king fries at BK, but unsalted. Desserts are nice.

When the chip shop across the road from me was shut, I went off in search for another takeaway where I could order a good pizza from, and given how I passed by Main Place a few times I decided to check it out one time and I was blown away! Their pizzas are unlike any other I've had, they aren't greasy and the dough is very fluffy and soft, the flavour compliments everything and it's reasonably priced, I definitely recommend you give them a look one day.
