Only chinese I use. Enjoyed this family chinese takeaway for a very long time.

The food was ready within 10 minutes of me ordering it.The food was very good,& good value too.It is a shame they are closed on Sundays.

I normally have this takeaway at least once or twice a month and every time I eat their food it is always perfect and very tasty. Staff are very kind and super polite. The food we ordered was Cantonese crispy chicken and egg fried rice and it didn’t fail to disappoint. The chicken is soft and crispy on the outside and not dry at all! The Cantonese sauce is also immaculate with flavours. Rice is well seasoned and nicely cooked and portions are good.

Both myself and my partner have Ended up being repeatedly sick and bad diarrhea after having a beef curry.

Based food. Really good and the staff is lovely.

First time using China Diner, a very extensive selection of dishes and I ordered what I normally have when I opt for a Chinese takeaway. Portion sizes were good, although the flavours were somewhat different from what I am used to with my local Chinese take away. Singapore chow mein were a little more salty but that's probably due to the extra soy sauce in it, and definitely more spicy. I don't mind that but some people might do, so a warning on the menu might be a wise move. The chicken in black bean sauce was very nice and was pleased to see that we were given some free vegetable spring rolls, however I was disappointed with my roast duck with ginger and spring onions. The duck pieces were not great at all, more fatty skin cuts than actual meat pieces. Price wise, well I was shocked that it was so expensive, especially for a place like Durham, I guess that's why it could afford to give us the free spring rolls. In comparison I pay £5 for my Singapore chow mein and £5.80 for my duck with ginger & spring onions here in South London. By definition it would be a higher cost of living here than the North of England, but I paid £8.40 at the China Diner for each of these dishes, overall that's about 70% more expensive! While I appreciate it was nice food, the food was well packaged up, the staff was very polite, I find the price rather extortionate, especially in a place like Durham and an area with so many university students!

Really good takeaway. Large portions good taste and level of spice. Chow mein delicious, aromatic duck really good. Spicy chicken curry and chips brilliant. Highly recommended.

Arrived cold and was unbeatable 47 pound in bin for something worth 20 pound never agin gutted as this was my birthday meal

The food we had tonight had to much salt and chilli on it. We couldn’t eat it as it was spoilt it burned our mouths after first taste. Never buy salt and pepper chips and salt and pepper chicken from here as that’s all the food is salt and pepper seasoning and house special fried rice had a hair in it. Rotten. Only gave it a star because it wouldn’t let me post without giving a rating

Best fried rice in Durham, bar none. Chow mein, dumplings, and crispy beef also delicious. We've lived in the area for ten years and China Diner remains our go-to for a Chinese takeaway.

We have ordered here for years but tonight was poor Cantonese and chow mein with onion only no other veg and only 4 prawns in the chow mein for what they charge there should be more veg not just onion

After reading some reviews we were a bit wary,but we were staying overnight in Travelodge & couldn’t be bothered to go & eat out so walked & got takeaway,all I can say was we weren’t disappointed,food was still hot when we got back to hotel & very nice so we haven’t any complaints at all,got chatting to a local guy in the takeaway & he said he always uses it. More expensive than what we are used to paying further south but what the heck.

Phoned twice me then husband to order food nobody speaks English can’t understand allergies and being anaphylactic can’t even understand that we wanted no sweet and sour sauce but curry sauce gave up in the end went elsewhere to another local Chinese takeaway what a difference in service so professional unlike these reporting to council as they are putting peoples life at risk as they can’t understand basic English

tried China dina instead of my usual take away this week and was disappointed. Food luke warm. Chicken synthetic tasting and rubbery....also cost more than I usually pay. no freebie either on an order for £20.

Hairy food ! All for your money ! Windows need washing! They don’t make u welcome at all ! To pricey for what it is always putting price up try and charge u different at all times the shop needs a good clean ! Would t go back

The food never lets you down. Given the fact that there is a queue within 5 minutes of opening and the phone is always ringing for orders.this speaks for itself . My only gripe is I have to drive to pick my orders up. They refuse to deliver because I live just over 6 miles from them

Nice food, and quick efficient delivery. Ordered around 6:00pm on 2 occasions and received order about 30min later.

Been here twice as it's my local and the food was really nice. Service was fast too

Ordered house special in garlic , normally nice but it had sliced cucumber in it and rice was very greasy

We were staying at the Travelodge and popped along here for a takeaway. It has to be the best Chinese takeaway we've ever had. We had the combo starter, delicious, tasty crispy seaweed, amazing spare ribs packed with flavour, crisp spring rolls to name a few things. Our chicken chow mein was so fresh, packed with chicken and fresh veg with lovely hick noodles. The crispy chilli beef in a Cantonese sauce was crispy, sweet, tangy, rich and full flavoured. I'm so glad I don't stay closer to this place, if I did I'd be there every night and be the size of a house! I'm so looking forward to going back.

Food is excellent especially if you like fresh veg in your chow mein.

Zero stars if possible. States free delivery, which was then £1 when I went to order. Full order went through, payment made and they called to state they would cancel the order because it should be a £3 delivery charge!??? It's THEIR delivery charge online! Will not use again, shocking. Don't bother wasting your time guys, go elsewhere.

Excellent food and good value for money. You will have to wait a while at peak times, but popularity is a good sign of a good takeaway.

Pedimos desde aquí 4 años y he probado muchos casi todos en DH 1, ninguno de los cuales comparar para nosotros. Yo soy muy exigente con pollo y China's Diner encontrar encantador y siempre preparado bien. Obviamente no calidad de restaurante pero es difícil encontrar una comida para llevar que es en Durham.Aunque estamos pidiendo platos principales, variado en ambos lados siempre orden incluyen el arroz con pollo frito, curry y rollitos de primavera vegetales son sin duda debes desde aquí. Deliciosos!

Visit China diner regularly, food is consistently good and quick. Sometimes it takes a while to get through on the phone.

This is one of my favorite takeaways in the area, the food is always delivered in reasonable time (never past 45 minutes) and the food is always nice and hot when delivered. Only thing i would say is the premises could do with updating, looks quite run down, but food is always nice :)

Best chinese take away in the area. We always eat here, they are always busy which says a lot. Great choices, great portions and great food, highly recommended.

Loved this little Chinese takeaway. Lived in the area and went at least once a week for a mouth watering chicken fried rice and curry sauce. Would recommend it to everyone. Quick, friendly service!

First things first, the food we got here all tasted excellent.The problem comes in the state of the premises - not something you'd think about when getting a delivery but you really notice it when collecting.I have no problem with takeaways being on an industrial estate rather than a high street as all it really does is save them rent. However having a run-down and grubby unit with dirty, damaged walls (even if this is just the entrance rather than the kitchen) is not good for a food business. You wonder how clean and tidy the kitchen is...

We ordered a takeaway on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago from China Diner. having been told it would be up to an hour to be delivered, I had to phone when it still hadn't arrived an hour and a half later. When it finally arrived they had forgotten the sauces to go with the crispy duck, and the seaweed was burnt. We phoned them and they sent out some sauces and seaweed but again the seaweed was burnt, so we had to phone yet again and asked for the money back for the seaweed. By the time the sauces arrived the crispy duck was cold. On calling in to get my money back, there was not even an apology. Having had takeaways from China Diner over the past few years and on the whole finding them good, I will certainly not be going there again. Appalling rude service. stuff missing and burnt/overcooked food (the chicken was also overcooked)

I like this takeaway. They have a vast selection of food on the menu. My only criticism is that the curry sauce has quite a strong ginger taste that is too overpowering. Chicken and chips is great from here.

by far the best Chinese takeaway we have ever ordered ! Everything always arrives hot and delicious. Awesome place . People are friendly ! I would definitely recommend !
