Nando's in Welwyn Hatfield

Honestly the best Nando’s we have had, and we’ve had a lot. We went to Hatfield Nando’s on a busy Friday night at peak time for the first time. From the beginning, we had a great experience. All the staff were welcoming and they quickly cleaned and found us a table. Al, the staff went above and beyond, the manager seemed great - by far the best service I have had in a Nando’s. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Honestly could not fault, which is not always the case at this chain. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our sharing platter. Extremely good tastes. Lovely chicken and the sides. However our evening was spoilt by not being able to pay with a gift card my partner had been given.

Came for food with a friend, ordered through the app no problem. Waited for our starter and drinks but they didn't arrive; our meal came first. The woman who served the food, instantly walked off no chance of mentioning that drinks and starters were forgotten. Chicken looked pink had to send it back. Food was standard - the same server cleared our table and then was to lazy to come round to get the sauces she went through the display frame instead. Resturant wasn't busy. And two other tables were complaining about missed items they had ordered.

Visited here with my boyfriend whilst in the area as we are not local and you can’t go wrong with a nandos, the staff were friendly and attentive. As a new pescatarian I tried the imitator wrap and I have to say I couldn’t eat the “chicken” as it was hard and left a funny taste in my mouth. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal and we had a lovely meal all together.

Arrived at 12.30, was seated whilst I waited 35 minutes for my girl pal to turn up! Staff were kind and didn't fuss me but kept checking that I was ok. Once my friend arrived we ordered quickly, and as usual, and as we've come to expect, food arrived within minutes and was piping hot. Delicious vegan options, the Imitator is just my favourite! Always been really lucky with staff and service.

We were the second table to order during the lunch sitting today, after ordering we waited over 30 minutes for our food. Nothing came, we then spoke to staff who told us it would be another 10 minutes. (Presumably because they’d forgotten to cook the food!) While other tables that arrived well after us, were all getting their food. Finally after 10 minutes one chicken dish came out, with none of the accompanying sides, etc. so we asked for a refund and left. Given there were two adults and two young children in our group it was additionally disappointing that the staff made no effort to ensure our food came in a timely and correct manner. Or even to check if everything was ok.

To be clear, this is a review of a takeaway from the restaurant. Delivery was fine and on time, but shouldn't food arrive hotter than lukewarm? I'm all for sustainable packaging, but isn't it meant to keep the food warm? Don't get me started on the dry as a bone '2 chicken breasts' that between them were smaller than a thigh. And shouldn't peri salted chips have some seasoning on them? Won't be bothering again.

Unbelievably rude staff, they started clearing plates around me whilst I was still eating, I find this really rude and unprofessional, a couple of them stood having a gossip pretty much sitting on our table because they was so close !! Not at all impressed.

Food was on time, initially. Luckily I was stood watching as it was being packed, some of the food was placed in its box, with the lid still open. The woman packing it had both hands on the box and then coughed over my food. I then had to stop the guy packing it into the bag and tell him she had coughed in my food. Had to wait for the whole order to be remade and the women who had coughed on the food seemed confused why it needed remaking and also more interested in chatting to friends/colleagues who walked in the restaurant rather than helping in the kitchen. I wonder how often she and other staff cough on customers food and it goes unnoticed. It isn't even a Covid problem, it is a basic hygiene problem. If you don't know not to cough in someone's food and still serve it, you shouldn't be working in a restaurant.

Popped in today for lunch. It's a nice clean restaurant and staff are always very friendly and helpful. This is not my closest Nando’s to eat at, but I was meeting a friend for lunch. The Imitator is a great add on the menu. It's hard to tell the difference and I do spend my time looking at my wrap to make sure i'm not eating meat. I highly recommend this new addition........ it needs to stay forever.

So now in a post COVID society, everyone is making you order your food at the table. Here at Nando’s, you now have to scan a QR code on the table and place and pay for your order. This is a very convoluted and cumbersome process. One which includes a compulsory opening of a Nando’s account. No option to checkout as a guest. No offers of refills on drinks whole time I was there or bring me any sauces over. And most of all….the food is really mediocre nowadays. Nando’s used to be a thing….it used to be good. Those days are long gone it would seem Oh, and Nando’s people….drop the necessity to open a Nando’s account to order food. It’s just unnecessary

Soggy chips & lack lustre overheated chicken which tasted plain rather than medium - what a disappointment! Will travel to St Albans next time-we rarely get takeaways so a huge disappointment that our family treat was such a let down!

I’ve been to this Nando’s multiple times. In the past they have been a bit on and off with the food (Slimy chicken). However the foods back to normal, with excellent organisation when it comes to health and safety with Covid 19. It takes a while to get a seat in the restaurant, but I really like the fact you can order from your table.

Excellent service, good food, social distancing with the Covid safe measures spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

First Nando’s visit after lockdown was disappointing as the queue wasn’t being effectively managed so we had people seated before us who arrived after (despite virtual queuing). Staff having to refill drinks just wasn’t working as it took 25 minutes from when we ordered to get our first drink! The food however was great as usual.

Not allowed to book online and arriving at 7:30, person on the door simply said they were not taking any sit ins anymore.

Did a large order over £100 and after politely asking a manager to throw in free Drinks she did! Great service and were really looked after by the staff! Would visit over and over again! Thank you!

Staff were welcoming and looked after us very well. Food was delicious. Sitting area was clean and restaurant was well staffed. Will definitely recommend.

My food arrived very quickly, although two meals took 30 minutes to arrive and they came with side dishes missing.Turns out they’d put two portions of halloumi into one pot and put it on one plate. I’ve never heard of a restaurant putting someone’s food on another person’s plate!I had no issues with my food, it was good.Reason I’m giving 4/5 is because we went on Valentine’s Day and people were queuing out the door, so it was very busy.

With friends for a light lunch. Plenty of staff serving and the wraps came quickly, were very tasty, but quite dear. My hot chocolate was very lacking in flavour but my friends could not fault their teas and coffee. Will not rush to return though.

Great chicken and refillable drinks. Excellent sauce, welcoming staff. Not as expensive as expected.

I went to eat at Nando's today after getting in a bit of early Christmas shopping. At the order point, I told the member of staff about my gluten allergy and she immediately went for the allergy book as a precaution to make sure I was safe.I did order a dish with bread on it, but I can handle a little bit of gluten (it's not life threatening if I eat it) and I was hungry.Before I started eating the manager approached me very concerned and informed me that the bread had gluten in it asking me if I was sure its ok to eat. I thought this was very caring and it struck me that they really wanted to look after their customers.I left a good note about both members of staff on their feedback form.This great experience at Nandos was in complete contrast to my last experience in a restaurant (see my other rev's). Good, attentive, efficient and caring staff.5 stars for Sev and Lidia :)

Been here so many times just not reviewed it! Our fave nandos! Friendly, atmospheric, delicious and reasonably priced. Great Loyalty scheme and also a 10% reduction if you have the free Galleria Privilege card.

Wow! What can I say... I used to love Nandos but if this is anything to go by it has gone down hill! I was fairly quickly seen to and sat down, decided on my food and then went to order... During the order I ordered a bottomless Sprite... I was charged the sugar tax as the guy put it down as full fat coke! So not happy to start with!My starter arrived really quite quickly but no sooner had that arrived my main then appeared but strangely cold!They seem in a rush to get you in and out as fast as possible without caring what happens in the middle!Disappointed

I took my nephew for Sunday lunch this is a very large restaurant when we arrived it was packed we had to wait 15 minutes for a table which was not to bed we were shown to our table went to order our meal and within 10 minutes of sitting down our food turned up. which was good

After waiting far toLong for food. After seeing my order sit under the heat lamp from r 15 mins . I was fed cold chicken . After my partner got something other than her order .Extremely upset I willNever recommend or eat here again.

Staffs seemed not trained and briefed. Order counter staff rushes to take orders and intentionally avoid discussing about customer's entitlements to the point of hiding the proof receipt not to expose mistakes done. Not trained and not briefed obviously and the shocking thing is the duty manager tolerates it, maybe not trained as well with just profits and quota in mind. Mind you, other Nandos branches are excellent.

After a not so interesting outing at the Galleria shopping, we headed for the Nando’s for some lunch. The place was largely full and we were promptly seated a table number issued. The ceiling had a colourful palate and had quite a jazzy look. We ordered some chicken burger with sides of garlic bread and chips. The service was super-fast and food arrived in about 5 minutes. The burger, breads and chips were good. The food was spicy as I had ordered “hot“ level. The sauces were spicy – quite similar to “chutney” in India. Overall it was pretty decent burger in a dull shopping mall.

I do like Nandos. A good reliable food product, however, when the piri piri chips we ordered arrived at the table without the salt, we asked for some to put on the chips. They brought us 3 tiny plastic tubs which are used for take aways, and gave them to us. Why?? Why not give us a small bowl with some in? I asked on the way out, and the answer I was given was that it’s easier that way as they prepare them in the morning for the day ahead. Not a good enough response and demonstrates laziness. So, I emailed HQ with this feedback, but as yet, 3 weeks later, no response at all.

All the old favourites but with some new choices too. Goncalo was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Food was great. a suggestion for it to be even better. Please stock gluten free beer / larger?

Family of six including two children visited early Saturday evening on18.5.2019. We didn't wait long for a table. The service was good especially from a guy called Josh. All the food was nice apart from one of my gransons chicken which he said was a bit dry. However, overall we had a nice family meal and would certainly go back again.

The service n taste was excellent. Just felt like eating more n more! Thanku! Will visit again for sure.

Rather order froman Indian and ge Tandoori chicken and rice . Twice as much for half the price. Otherwise you pay through the nose for nothing very special.

Everytime i go to nandos, no matter how full it is, i get served in a quick amount of time and the food is always to exceptional quality

this is a fantastic nandos. i have been to many and this is one of the best ones. very nice chicken and good service. took a while to arrive but it was not much of a problem. would recommend to friends or family for a nice eat out for lunch, dinner or after a movie perhaps

Popped in whilst shopping. Clean restaurant and staff are always very friendly and helpful. This is not my closest Nando’s to eat at, but I would choose this one. Nando’s have various items which they are able to veganise for you. Just ask. It’s a chain of middle of the road, fast food, but more upmarket than the usual burger joint.

It is one of my favorite places to have a nice, healthy, spicey meal. For a vegetarian, this place has a lot to offer. My recent favorite is veg cataplana ! Mouth watering!

Needed a quick bite after a shopping trip. Good service without a long wait. The food was good as you would expect from Nandos. No complaints just happy eaters!

I took the portobello mushroom (minus halloumi) wrap, for my main. I then opted for the peri salt chips. Very large portion on my plate, and my guest was only half way through hers and i'd chowed down on the lot! It was delicious, and well presented. If you're a vegan, they are accommodating and will tell you what is on the menu to suit.

Friwndly servicee. Refillable drinks. Usual delicious Nandos with a NHS discount! Friendly staff, great music and nice atmosphere

seriously, chicken and chips, not even good chicken and chips, maybe it's my age but i don't get it. it's nothing special in any way and not even that tasty. my kids like it so i go there. that's it. service is fine.

My meal came very quickly and everything was hot and well cooked. Very worth my money. The staff were nice and friendly. Would return 100%!

Had lunch with my son at this Nandos and we loved the chicken. The service was great as we were greeted and well received as soon as we entered and offered a table that had just been free. The meals came quite fast although one of the pieces was quite burnt. Other than that, the entire eating experience at this Nandos was good and the chicken didn’t let us down. I do recommend a visit.

Nandos in Hatfield Galleria - A good service and meal turned into the worse restaurant experience and disgusting customer service I have ever experienced. Taking my 2 sons out for a late lunch, after the cinema, for my youngest’s birthday, we were suddenly subjected to the loud sounds of a person watching a basketball game on their mobile phone at full volume, at the table next to is.

Following a client meeting i had at this restaurant and after eating what seemed to be precooked chicken and stale chips and after making a complaint online this is what ensued:

Nandos is what nandos is and it's quick and consistent. It's nothing special but you know what to expect and there isn't much chance they can get it wrong. The decor is OK as is the staff.

The Nando food experience is fairly standard. However, at the back of this restaurant there are a couple of tables where the bench seats share the same frame as the table sitting behind you. If the person sitting behind you can't sit still or their legs have the shakes, it's very annoying. The group behind us looked like they were leaving as we sat found down. Unfortunately the place was rammed and they stayed another 30 minutes.

Came here with my 5 year old for lunch after having watched Paddington 2 in the cinema. I hadn't been to a nandos for a year or so and had to say I was pleasantly surprised. Nandos can be a bit hit and miss but it delivered on this occasion.

I love Nandos, but unfortunately when I went to this one it was extremely busy which made me feel a the space was too small whilst I was waiting. Of course with Nandos I don’t expect 5 star dining, although I felt in this instance the restaurant seemed poorly organised and staff didnt seem to know what to do. No one was particularly friendly but the food was really good and I had a good time

This Nando’s was decent and I say decent because it so easily could of been the best Nando’s I’d ever been to but it isn’t because of one simple mistake this absolute helmet of a waiter forgot to bring the Nando’s mayo I so vitally crave.

The Fast Food self-service system adopted by Nando's UK restaurants, which is not really a fast food chain, somehow works here!

Nice location and very pleasant staff. Same food. Noticed portions have shrunk since last time. Must be due to shrink-flation!

A nice place to join my meat eating friends but wouldn't choose it myself as very limited veggie choices but nice atmosphere and friendly efficient staff .

Im a massive fan of Nandos and this is particularly nicer than most in Hertfordshire in terms of environment to go in for a meal.

Went on 2nd August 2017 after watching a film in the Galleria.It's a very busy restaurant like most Nando's and it offers reasonably good value food for those of us on a budget.

Normally love a cheeky Nando's but this restaurant let the brand down. Seemed to have 20 staff members who had no interest in serving you. First dirty glasses, then the gas went on the drinks, and when reported to a member of staff , the response was " yeah the gas has gone should be around 10-15 mins before it's back on", but he said he would let us know. We had our meal and still no fizz, and to top it off another staff member started to take our plates before we had finished eating. And when pointed out I was told well you have finished, wouldn't have minded if the restaurant was full, and you was asked if it was ok to take the plates. To top it off no goodbye from a single staff member just a stare. Not a restaurant I will visit again, no cheekiness in this Nando's. ...

Chicken was all dry and the wraps had no mayo or sweet chilli jam in so they literally tasted like dry chicken and lettuce. Service was fast but grumpy.

If you like Nando's this is a great place to visit. Clean and modern. Humorous and charming staff. There's never a queue to get in.If you don't like Nando's, don't bother.

Very busy restaurant, almost packed every time I go there, food is ok, but it's a bit pricey for students.

Nice meal for my disorders birthday. Spent the day in London and came back to Hatfield Travelodge and had tea nearby. As always with Nando's, good quality food etc. Nothing amazing to shout about but a nice meal nonetheless.Would visit again and recommend to others.

I met up with an ex-work colleague so wasn't looking for fine dining but rather somewhere where we could grab a bite we would both find suitable. My friend likes 'hot' food but I don't so this was able to fit the bill perfectly as one can order different levels of 'hotness'. I had the Lemon and Herb chicken with sides of chips and coleslaw (you can choose whether you have sides or not and choose which sides you want ... which is quite good as it means you don't have to have chips or anything else if you don't want). Your meal is priced accordingly. The chicken was not exactly hot temperature wise, in fact the whole meal could have done with being a little warmer but it did taste good. Unfortunately the caramel dessert was sold out earlier in the day so no dessert for me that night.The place was busy but not full, unlike my previous visits, and was therefore much more enjoyable. The staff were pleasant and found us a table quickly. While there was nothing wrong with the food it seemed to be to be pretty 'fast food' but, to be fair, I used to love Nando's in South Africa but the food just isn't the same, presumably due to local tastes and food preparation methods.

The meal was delicious and the service was really fast. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. The only thing is sometimes you have to wait for a table because it gets really busy.

We visited with small child. Busy but not jammed as other Nandos. Good childs meals. Veggie options good. Side dishes on small side and sweet potatoes cold. Chicken burger excellent. Nandos is what it says on the tin, fast food chicken restaurant but freshly cooked with healthier sides. This restaurant was clean, nicely decorated and good staff.

Visited on a quiet afternoon. We ordered at the till point...by the time we got back to the table the food had arrived. Was warm but ok. Being in the trade, such quick service is slightly worrying!! One plate was cleared whilst others at the table was eating....we were then asked if everything was ok??!! Bit late after part of our group had eaten!! We were then offered desserts....while the rest of the table were still eating!!! I know there are certain things that need doing in order to satisfy the customer experience and mystery guest/shopper but at least they could have used their initiative....desserts while we were still eating mains was a bit much!!!

My first and last time in Nando's! We visited on a Friday night and had to wait 20 minutes for a table as you cant pre book a table and the place was packed. You have to order your food at a till and then collect your cutlery too. You also have to get your own drinks although they do serve you your food! Small burgers and generally small portions and high prices for what you get. Great hangout for teenagers who are out with friends but given the choice of this style of food I'd rather go for a McDonalds!

I love the food and looks of the place but it is just another franchise. You can have good meals and it is great if you want something filling. I normally go with friends or family but once a in very long while I go on my own.The staff are okay. They are clearly stuck on a script and the managers are rude. On far too many occasions my request for a corner table is turned down with rude replies. Such as "You can't sit there it will get busy and you're alone so whatever sit over there" or once with friends we got "it's half term why do you want a booth? Look a perfectly good table over there".I often wait a good while for my food after ordering and most of the time the staff dump the food and disappear after giving the typical "did you order this, okay, enjoy". It feels like they want to get away from you as quick as possible.This Nandos is always busy in the afternoon and lunch time. I can understand the staff and their rush but for crying out loud give a good service regardless. This goes for the managers too.At least the place is clean, food is nice and the toilets are actually managed unlike most other places. Not bad but only good if you need to fill your stomach and disappear quickly.

Lovely food, friendly and easy environment, it's only chicken and chips but there is lovely sauces and a bit of self service but definitely worth of visiting !:)

Very cheap at the last minute over night stay. Wonderful beds, lovely rooms that are clean and welcoming, and morning breakfast was so tasty. Lovely place on a budget

My food was good but to be honest it wasn't good for the value for money, you can get almost the same chicken for cheaper in other places, my chicken was really good but it was a bit burnt

Really great helpful manager who sorted out our wine when we had already started drinking the wrong bottle!! Chicken delicious as usual.Not so impressed with sweet potato wedges. Corn lovely.Puddings were so cheap and delicious.

Quality of Nandos food is generally pretty consistent (aside from the cold sweet mash every now and again). Trouble with this restaurant (in Galleria outlet) is that not only were the orders wrong, the waiters (3 we encountered) all acted like we had done something wrong when we mentioned it. Everything seemed like a hassle for them. No smiles, no apologies (despite a number of complaints around us). Essentially, the Nandos brand (and the chef to a degree, as the food was nice, aside from the cold sweet mash again of course) are being let down by unhappy, "can't be bothered" waiting staff. Training is needed urgently so sort the place out and wheedle out the people who clearly don't want to be working there.

I love Nandos , always have the same and really nice . I will say that I think a larger rice portion would be appreciated but as ever always nice to have a Nandos lunch . What did we do before Nandos?

This restaurant feels very cold, the extra air con didn't help. The decor is so mixed and felt very stark. We were unsure where to order as there was no one on the door to seat us. The food sat under the heat lamps for about 7 mins before being bought over. The meals were ok, the chips were just like oven chips which is a shame. Unfortunately despite only having lemon and herb I feel unwell after a Nando's again so probably won't return.

Popped in after shopping. Shown to table, very clean tidy and spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was brought up within 10 minutes. Hot and very tasty. Can't find fault with this branch, been several times and always good.

Large and uncrowded. The food is exactly what you'd expect if you've ever been to a Nando's. Clean and spicy. The staff at this Nando's are lovely.

Eaten in there many times, services always quick. Meals are delicious and the staff in this particular branch are very friendly.

Food here is second to none and is only outshone by the excellent staff! The whole team is superb and my partner and I look forward to our 'cheeky Nandos' every Monday evening. We are never leaving :)

first time I've been to Nandos. I may be naïve but I didn't know what do to . after 20 minutes I was quite surprised not t have had an order taken. You have to order yourself . That' s fine if you were told when you were seated. again after main course , dishes were left on table well after we had been up again to order dessert. Three attempts by waitress to get desert order correct . anyway cheap restaurant cheap service. It might be what the younger generation want in a meal out but I wont be going again.

Food was ok but I hate eating a meal when you feel like your sharing it with strangers, these places try to pack too many tables in and it puts me off.

Visited mid afternoon for a very late lunch. There were very few people in the restaurant so it would have been nice to have been greeted by a member of staff . We had to fend for ourselves. Finding a table was easy. Finding a menu was not. Eventually after finding a waitress who was busy helping herself at the self serve drink machine were we able to get a menu. To sum up. The food was the usual Nando's, however the staff were dismal. Unsure whether we would go back. Maybe we struck the wrong people on the day.

Went with friends to Hatfield Galleria with the intention of going to Nandos as other couple were on strict diet and I knew that if we ordered the double platter with 5 sides it would suffice for all of us with a side each of our choice and a spare salad. basically half a chicken each and a portion of rice and chips for us and the other couple had corn and salad (£44.95) no refillable drink with this offer. Affordable for a meal out and nice that you can choose what sides and how spicy you want your chicken.Very busy venue but quick moving queues to order.

Staying near by so walked in Galleria to find a suitable eating establishment. Picked Nando's. Place was packed at 7pm, shown to a table - enjoyed our meals. Only fault was the noise from such a packed establishment, hard to have a conversation.

First time at Nando's - and a nice surprise. I'd wondered how many variations you could have on peri-peri chicken, but there were really a lot of good ones! Nice service, just a bit noisy as it was phenomenally busy.

Always good food. Cant go wrong with chicken. Have tried most things on the menu. Boneless platter is good and on £20 so for 2 only works out a ten a each you also get 4 side orders a swell as butterfly chicken and 4 boneless thighs .The thigh burger is good very juicy

Food was fast and really nice. Way better than expected for a volume driven chain restaurant. I love the way in which the ordering works and the sauces are brilliant. Try the Wild Herb
