Best Chinese around!!!! Have been eating here for about 15 years and it never fails!! Food is always incredible! Originally ate at the restaurant in Stanborough now ordering from the takeaway in Hatfield and i cannot recommend it enough!!!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!

most of the food was great, but the ribs where overdone and burnt tasting.

It was nice overall but the chow mein had scrambled egg in it- which we didn't like. After taking the egg out it was a nice meal, the chicken balls and special friend rice were lovely. But just not much flavour in the chow mein and the egg, abit of a let down. But good overall.

The veg pakoras for starters were floppy, squishy and tasteless The jamin rice tasted alike Asda boil in the bag The egg fried rice was dry and tasteless The green Thai curry tasted like jelly defrosted chicken in a watery sauce The chilli shredded beef had nice flavour but mild and very very chewy

Singapore rice noodles and pancakes are sooo bad. Noodles smells very bad and I expected different Pancakes...very disappointed

Yummy food, delivered hot and well under the estimated time. The curry was slightly runny, but the rice helped soak it up. A very tasty meal and will definitely order from New East again.

Firstly I ordered 2 x green curry which turned up as 2 x red curry ! There was only 2 prawns in the whole of my pad Thai and everything was cold ! I’m disgusted and it’s such a shame as we’ve spent so much money with them in the past, but am inclined not too anymore.

Ordered via Uber eats and I was so disappointed.The soft noodles that we got was so bland.Just tasted like rubber if I’m being honest, 3/10.The sweet and sour chicken was just fine as well.Bland nothing special in my eyes, 5/10.And finally the thai red curry among the three was the best.It had more favour than the rest, 7/10.I think there is lots of improvement needed on the flavour department.First and last time ordering from New East that’s for sure.

Terrible food. Very rude staff. This guy at the counter yelled at us when we asked about the pancake that was in the menu. He was like “what pancake? We don’t do pancake here” when we pointed it to him in the menu he very rudely replied it was not a food it was just a wrap or something for some other dish. He could have just nicely told us that but it was very very rude.

The range of options was good but it seems that most of them are just same food. We got pad Thai and Thai red curry. Noodles was both wet and too-sweet and the curry was like just water and the jasmine rice was not cooked properly. The worst was the staff was rude to us while taking and conforming the order.

Love the Chinese food here. Except the spicy crispy beef is just a clump of sweet crispy batter, no spice to it at all and no beef either.

We sat in for a lovely meal. It is partly like taking away but nice to eat there on plates. A pleasant enough man took our order and brought the dishes which were tasty.

Unpleasant. The food tasted like it had been cooked in old, rancid oil. That flavour overwhelmed everything. Even the rice was a let down. This is the first time that a chinese has been left partially eaten as it was so unpleasant. Very disappointed.

This is the best Chinese food in both Welwyn and Hatfield by far, I am sure it would be better than any in St Albans also. Superb food.

I've had food from here before and really enjoyed it, unfortunately this time was rather disappointing. The food was late the egg fried rice had almost no egg in it. The chow mein had very little flavour. Overall rather disappointed.

Ignore the bad reviews, this was some of the best Chinese food I have eaten in England. Very good service and the everything I had was perfect. From the seaweed to the Crispy duck was all perfect. The smoked Chicken was some of the best I have eaten, cannot reccomend this place enough. If you want Chinese in Hatfield this is the best by far, and also better than anything in Welwyn Garden City or St Alban's too.

This was pretty bad so felt compelled to leave a review. Beef in black bean sauce was rubbery / chewy and tasted old. Egg fried rice was mostly missing the egg. Rice was greasy, veg chowmain was tasteless and dry.

The food was delivered half an hour early and it was piping hot. Happy days!!! I've been eating here since it was called the East. I'd recommend getting the Smoked Chicken. Five Spice is amazing.

Really Tasty and arrived early. My Chinese friend was over and gave it a thumbs up.

Absolutely gorgeous food. A little pricey but really worth it! Ordered duck chow menu, BBQ ribs, sweet and sour prawns and salt and pepper squid and loved it all. I also loved how the sweet and sour stayed so crisp. My only qualm is that the duck and ribs were slightly overcook but other than that, really good quality food!

I would like the delivery fee refunded as my friend had to pick my order up as the delivery was 1 hour 30 minets way to long

Portions size good. Disappointed with the chow mein as the noodles were thin skinny vermicelli style noodles which ruined the chow mein imo. Also no prawn crackers for free 😢 after spending 35 quid. Would of ordered some but everywhere else gives you them free. I Won't be using again

Worst, Chinese I have ever had, rice was over cooked and brown. Meat in chow mein was hardly visible , chicken balls soggy no taste, chicken curry was brown for some reason. A great disappointment and waste of money, definitely not ordering from there again - put me off Chinese food

Chicken in the noodles was not cooked properly, disappointed as this used to be my fav place when I was a student. The whole vibe of the place in terms of service/food was off.

Delivery was on time and the staff gave me a call to confirm it. I think pork slices were chewy and tough to eat, so I’ll choose other options for Chinese curry next time.

Delivery was speedy and hot but the quality wasn't great. The chicken teriyaki had flabby skin on it and the chicken was chewy. The beef black been had some OK and some very chewy beef... I was concerned it wasn't fresh and possibly microwaved. Overall, wouldn't go here again.
