The Real China in Welwyn Hatfield

I booked a table here and when I arrived they told me that they had let my table go (the place wasn't even busy!) so we had to wait about 5 minutes for a free table. I paid for refill drinks but I should have checked what drinks they had available, all of the 'juices' and 'lemonade' tasted like water, ontop of that the food was cold and the staff were extremely rude. Oh and all the plates and bowls were soaking wet and dirty and the cutlery and glasses were also dirty. Absolutely disgusting that this place has been able to stay open! Don't waste your money here

It use to be great food.haven't been here for the past 3 years and I will never go back as I'm left disappointed, food was dry,not fresh...overcooked I wasn't even able to find something decent to eat...very disappointed

Gorgeous food. Great selection. Duck took ages to come out had eaten 2 plates before it was ready however one of the service staff came and found me when he was being it out he was lovely. Deserts could be better not great choices. Definitely worth it £16 for all you can eat. Also has a mini Asian food shop by counter

Absolutely disgusting food. No flavour at all, the meat is like jelly. The staff don't look like they want to be there. Can get better food from the dustbins outside the Galleria.

Good food - oriental buffet variety from prawns, noodles, egg rice, sweet and chilli chicken, satay chicken, spring rolls, etc. , Good customer service - take away experience - a lot of food fits in 1 box…. Good price - lunch time buffet only £9.50 per adult! Can’t go wrong. Less than £10 for 3 course meal. Take away boxes only £7.

Very crowdy place. Staff were nice, but not enough of them on the floor. Not as good as it was few years ago, food was ok, but selection of mains and deserts is very limited.

Stunning Value! Just had good lunchtime buffet at astonishingly low price of just £9.50 (exc modestly priced and optional drinks). Starters somewhat limited in choice and not as hot as could have been but temperature of starters is an endemic issue with Chinese buffets at almost any price point. On plus side, starters included endless enormous prawns - not normally found in lunchtime menus. Mains included 3 x chicken, 2 x pork, 1 x beef & 1 x tofu dishes along with 5 excellent and varied veg options and 4 x varied rice/noodle options. Icing on the cake was inclusion of chinese pancakes, albeit with shredded chicken not duck - inclusion of any chinese pancake option (with hoisin, cucumber spring onion trimmings) is simply amazing at this price point. If you assess real value, rather than count Michelin stars, or unfairly compare an unashamedly value-optimized buffet to a high end full restaurant experience, the lunchtime buffet at the Real China is a real winner. We'll be back.....

I went to Real china Hatfield on 17th Jan around 6 pm with my friends. The food was pathetic and no more options for vegetarian people. The receptionist was rude, however the waiting staff were humble and kind.

I went to a buffet and I wasn't full when I left... Good value if you crave salt and pepper king prawns (though, I'm not sure what they did with the salt and pepper).

I visited The Real China in Hatfield Galleria on Saturday with my family to celebrate my daughter’s 12th birthday, and I felt compelled to leave a review because of the wonderful experience we had. The staff were fantastic, especially John, who went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. He was incredibly polite, always had a smile on his face, and nothing was too much trouble for him. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the team made us feel truly special. This restaurant is perfect for family celebrations, special occasions, or even just a casual meal. The service is excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend The Real China for anyone looking for a lovely dining experience.

A overall underwhelming experience the food was bland , the main dishes lacked substance and seasoning . The sauces were very watered down making the experience very unpleasant. There was choice there however the food really didn’t meet expectations on a good quality Chinese buffet . For the price myself and my friend felt it was rather expensive. The staff were relatively attentive the reasoning for giving the one star

We went for a buffet lunch where the receptionist Yan greeted us warmly and was very friendly. We waited less than five minutes to be seated. The buffet offered a great variety of dishes for the price, and the food was delicious.

A fabulous Buffet with an a la carte menu available to. The food is always excellent - we have been going every month for over a year. Staff are always so friendly, professional and attentive. Undoubtedly the best Chinese Restaurant I have been to that serves a buffet and is cost effective.

To be honest, it's not worth the money and if you really want to enjoy an "All you can eat buffet" , it's better to pay a few extra bucks and go to a quality buffet.

I ordered a chicken and sweetcorn soup for takeaway, It was absolutely disgusting and watered down, Will never order from here again..

Was ok. It is what it is a Chinese buffet. The staff are friendly and welcoming, This is the 3rd time we've been. The food wasn't as good as the first time. But it was nice, I will probably go again some day.

Very nice food except one of the noodles were quite dry and undercooked and the dessert had basically been finished by the time we had got there. The pepsi was basically flat and I would’ve probably been better off with tap water. Nice ish restaurant though

End of shopping treat! A short wait for a table but well worth it. Friendly accommodating staff and tasty, quality food. Plenty of staff to either take additional orders or clear your empty plates for more. Food was plentiful and fresh, and the final positive, great value for money! Thanks, we will be back..

Really friendly staff Amazing selection on the buffet

SHOCKING is the only polite word I can think of to use on here.

First reviewed a few years back when imo opinion, it was pretty good on an evening. But I went again late 2024 and I am now going to have to revise my ratings downward.

Food looks lovely but tastes cheap & nasty, noodles were mushy, Singapore noodles were hard, beef was very fatty, pancakes were like cardboard & greens were cold. Was very disappointed with the food quality as it all looked better than tasted. Both myself & my husband got home & had diarrhoea instantly. Staff was pleasant & restaurant was clean. This is our personal opinion.

This is a good place for those who seek a Chinese buffet. Not a lot of items, but the available food is really good. Service is really good by friendly staff I think it is slightly overpriced, but it is a good place, and I will visit again.

Unfortunately I had to give 1 star as none was not an option .. cold food hardly any options .. really gone down hill .. watched staff blow there nose then pick at the food with bare hands and eat it … after years of using that’s the lot never again

I had ordered a delivery and they forgot to pack an item. When I called the guy on line he vehemently denied. He blamed the poor delivery guy which is very unfair. He lied to me that he is the manager and lied that he had packed 9 items. But truth is there 10 items delivered and 11th missing. The problem was he was impolite and did not admit his mistake and kept blaming the delivery guy who was not there to defend. Please take action and remove such dishonest people.

Really bad experience!! There was a missing item and I called the restaurant. The guy vehemently denied mistake was from his part and lied he was the manager. He blamed the delivery guy. He also lied saying that 9 items were delivered but 10 were delivered and 1 was missing. Really impolite and no effort to solve the issue. Later when we called he admitted that they had forgotten to pack the item. I really feel sorry how the delivery guy was blamed. This is very unfair and action needs to be taken

Meal served for 6 people with drinks included approximately 100 lire. The food is very good, you eat as much as you can, the service is top notch.

Absolutely horrendous. Sugar in every dish. Tasteless food which was luke warm. Food poisoning waiting to happen. Tried to speak with manager about it but told they don’t have one.

Where do I start if there was a 0 scoring that's what they would get, the food was awful tryed some chicken curry, prawns and a few other things was cold some over cooked and some under cooked, the staff hover around you while trying to eat, on my return home myself and my partner started vomiting.never again we hope people read the reviews before going absolutely disgusting.

A great variety of food available

Food was 'ok'. My problem was with the 'desert' if you could call it that! Some basic ice cream, slices of orange (?) or some kids 'penny sweets' ie, foam bananas and shrimps, mini marshmallows or jelly beans!! No cakes, brownies,cheesecake, nothing!!! Asked a member of staff, he said you have to come back at the weekend for desert selection!!! No thanks buddy, won't be back, ever!!

I haven't been here for a few years. It was clean, tidy and fresh. The staff were friendly and I was pleasantly suprised with the food. I would come back again.

Cost varies on the tiem you go. 11-3pm is 9.50 for an adult and about 5 pounds for kids. Then 5pm about 17 pounds for adults. Varieties of food available. Ice cream too. Meals are very hot. They also have kids varations. Their chicken nuggets are amazing. Ice cream on cone or cup and jelly beans. Their Oranges are amazing too

If you’re absolutely hungover, this place will feel like a mirage in the dessert. If you want to go for a nice meal…. Please, go somewhere else! At the end of the day, it’s a Chinese buffet in the Galleria so Im not sure why I was expecting anything more than a 1/10 but there we go. The only good thing about this place is the service, the prawn crackers and the cucumber. Don’t bother!

Good value for a midweek buffet lunch. The dessert sweets and the Ice cream were good. Did not like having to pay before eating the food, very extraordinary. Some items not refreshed after 14:30 despite closing at 15:30

Very good and plentiful Chinese buffet

Ok so after checking out a lot of mixed reviews about the real China here's my opinion on Saturday evening buffet. Walked into a busy restaurant got seen quickly and seated. Grabbed a plate and started collecting. After a my first plate my opinion the food was above good. Few choices needed a touch of flavour adding to it, Noodles, sweet and sour and a pork choice of which I can't remember the name of it but overall we were satisfied. Staff very friendly, service was good and food was 4 *.

The food was of a high quality and reasonably priced. The only very minor comment is that the plates were cold. This is not the first time we had visited the restaurant and will not be the last. The food was hot and well stocked.

For a Chinese restaurant, the rice and the vermicelli were extremely disappointing. The vermicelli was very dry and had a peculiar taste. The only thing I enjoy were the ribs. They are the best I have tasted.

Friendly staff. Food was bland. There was no real flavours and did not taste how Chinese does. Not overly impressed. Not bad but not good. Would not rush back but I would try another branch.

There is this good feeling about seeing a nice place to eat out at 1am It was fun

Firstly, their customer service is top-notch. Secondly, they have a variety of food you can choose from which comes in affordably. Thirdly, you can either take out anything you like in just a mini take out container for £6.5 or eat in and eat whatever you like and go as many rounds as you can for just £12. So cool 😎.
