Fu Hao in Welwyn Hatfield

Omg! The new ‘dim sum tea’ place is literally insane! I would rather keep it quite as it was already quite busy but well ;)

Don't understand.... credit card or epay is always broken, only cash....37 pounds, paid her 40.... pretend and talk away no change back, haha

Quite a dingy looking restaurant-needs some table cloths and cheering up a bit, small place but the food was lovely. Lady polite. Not bad value. Nice. Would go again.

I really enjoyed my food. I had the duck and pancakes, egg fried rice and spicy crispy beef. Nicr portion sizes. The only fault with the food was that the beef had no spice at all bit still gave 5 stars and enjoyed the meal non the less. The staff were friendly ( apart from the gentleman that answered the phone earlier that day) Small space but was lovely and intimate for our working outing of 7 people. It was also easy to pay separately.

Very disappointed service was slow waitress wasn't helpful. While I was in the empty restaurant and a black man walked in he asked for a table and the lady said you will be better to take away ! Rude he asked for a window seat and she walked him to the back ! Rude she then made him pay for his food and his beer before he had even been served them or even eaten them. This was so rude and the man just dealt with it. Watching and listening was very uncomfortable. We paid after we had eaten. The food was tasteless and wasn't presented well woukdnt go bk ever !!!!!!

I arrived at 6 it looked small and cosy. The place was empty. I asked if i could eat in and ordered. The first thing she asked was weather i was paying by cash or card. She immediately brought the card machine to process payment before receiving any food or drink. I waited to see if it was standard but it was just me. Avoid as this is a prejudice restaurant

We have very bad experience after eating we went home and me and my wife were very sick and we were not able to breath and I will go for hospital in the morning soothing wrong in the oil which used for food. Not recommended for anyone to eat there I welwyn garden city

Quality of food is so low. They don’t know how to make Chinese food. You can’t even ask for extra plastic spoon to eat and that’s so funny. And literally the broken lady don’t want any customer to eat in there. They really need to close their business unless people will shut it down.

Been here 2 times and the servers were nothing but polite and the sweet and sour chicken had me bouncing up and down like I was Mario above a ? Block

The food is always tasty and in big enough portions. We always do take away and pick up from there, so can't speak to the restaurant / delivery service.

Not sure what the chicken is or how its made but taste/looks like processed. Food was late and just tasteless watery sauce. Ribs were dry n hard to eat wouldnt order from here again

Having read the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to test the restaurant out & glad we did . We had a set menu meal which was great value & choice . The wine list is very good value , with minimal mark up . Service was OK . Would recommend eating in the restaurant

I took my 2 grand daughters and my 2 great grand children on Friday 21st for dinner. On arrival only one other couple there. Service very slow waitress more interested in take away orders, when i asked for the 4th time if she could take our order she kept saying i be there when i asked again she muttered in chinese under her breath. Waitress wasn't friendly to great grand daughter and even said she would have to go soon. food arrived in very chaotic order. a couple who ordered after us got there food before us. we ordered coke and it was flat. Food was nice but not worth the price wont be going back

Really disappointed in our order we collected. The food tasted old or reheated almost stale. The oil it was cooked in tasted funny too, ended up wasting alot of food and money I think a refund should be given.

I had an unpleasant experience with Fu Hao when trying to find a Chinese restaurant nearby. I ordered satay chicken through JustEat and recieved something which looked like black bean chicken instead. It was tasteless and definitely not satay, I believe they made a mistake. We also ordered chow mein, chilli beef and egg fried rice, and all of it was shockingly bland and lacking any exciting chinese flavour. I had to add some soy sauce myself. Was very disappointing ):

Good value takeaway, regular visitor

After arriving our table wasn’t ready so had to wait upstairs. Table was ready after about 5 mins. They took a long time to get our order. Then even longer to get us drinks. We only ordered starters and duck then after that we would order our mains. They took so long to do anything not just with us we it’s other tables too. They seemed more concerned about the takeaway side of things more than the people in the restaurant. We had to ask them for the menu and the bill. They only came over to serve the food really. It was our first time but I am sorry it will also be our last.

Nice food. Usually quite quick in arriving when ordering take away. Plain Chow Mein is nicest in area, IMHO.

Won’t bother again, really expensive for what were effectively childrens portions. Chow Mein was vermicelli noodles and the prawn crackers were missing. Sesame prawn toast and chicken wings were bizarre tasting, really sweet. Avoid.

I was recommended to this restaurant and I'm so glad that I was. Fantastic food. Loads of flavour but clean tasting ..we were so impressed. Can't wait until the next time I order to try some different dishes. Brilliant

first time using this restaurant for takeaway ordered via just eat. Was about late put that down to people ordering because of the football. Lamb and chicken curries tasteless looked like the chicken came of a tin sauce was non existence. Egg fried rice all rice no egg. Chicken rice no chicken to speak of. Order chicken noodle disgusting. 35 pound down the drain

Basically an Iceland ready meal that we paid £50 for.

I order Kung po chicken twice and I got sweet and sour chicken I order special fried rice and I got egg fried rice I order Shredd chilli beef all Burnt The only food thing was the ribs I rang spoke to the manager who was rude and shouting at me down the phone and asked for a replacement or refund and said no we are shouting now at 21.50pm Would ever use rude manager wrong food that is well over cooked and is not nice at all waste of if money

I have never eaten in the restaurant but we order takeaway from here every now and then and food has always been good. Tonight we ordered through Just Eat, we ordered at 6.30 and delivery was estimated at about an hour. By 7.50 food still hadn't arrived. I called the restaurant and the lady was very apologetic and explained that they only have one delivery driver but Just Eat continue to let people order knowing the restaurant will be backed up. She asked us to give her 20 mins and our food would be with us and it was. Other than tonight, every time we have had food from here its been the same male delivery driver. Tonight, was a female driver and I think it may of been the lady I spoke to on the phone. They went out of their way to get our food to us which was really nice. Food was hot and tasty as always. I just feel very sorry for the staff being overrun like that. Will order again but will order straight from Fu Hao rather than Just Eat.

Have used this restaurant in the past and been ok but recently they just cancelled an order and refunded. Have moved (permanently) to New Dynasty - much better in my opinion and have never let us down!

Service was not good, expensive and the portions were way too small for the price. Ordered a fried rice and it came in a tiny bowl. This was my first and also the last time to visit this place. Not impressed!

Best Chinese I’ve had in a while!

Just had a take away couldn’t eat the pork very tough, special fried rice soggy not special at all. Noodles not nice and duck over cooked. Very expensive and not enjoyable or edible will avoid in future !

Spoke to just eat who advised because the order was paid for with cash, id need to contact the restaurant. After being verbally abused on the phone by the restaurant for 55 minutes (who proceeded to tell us how much they hate just eat, all the issues they have as a restaurant and other irrelevant facts) they hung up twice. We contacted just eat yet again regarding the ordeal who proceeded to speak to the restaurant to advise to give a full refund as I had all the food left and offered to have the food ready upon collection in exchange for my refund. 2 hours later I went to the restaurant and can only explain what I was met with as utter arrogance. The man who was there was extremely unnecessarily rude, I have the entire thing on record, proceeded to call me a fussy eater, blame ME (the customer) for the issues of “not liking the food” when I had clearly stated the number of issues I had. And finally after being in the restaurant for a further 35 minutes, being spoken down to, patronised and verbally abused yet again. I got £20 back of my £33, because they wouldn’t pay me the £13 because that’s the fee they have to pay to just eat for me ordering through them, which they felt appropriate to penalise me with... avoid like the plague. Terrible customer service doesn’t even explain it and the food not far behind.

Love the egg fried rice and spicy ribs ooo

This was a nice place a little small could do with redecorating as it was a bit out dated inside. The food was okay as I wasn't blown away with great flavour and taste

Disappointing food and poor service. When my wife asked for a spare bowl and some chopsticks the waitress snapped at her. Later on we commented that the pork tasted a bit off but she was quite dismissive. We found a hair in one of our glasses but by that point we knew what service to expect. I'd suggest going elsewhere and spending a bit more for decent food and service.

Don't order from them via Just Eat. They will cancel your request, even if it meets the criteria, if you don't order more than £25 of food every time. I can understand that for deliveries but not when it's for collection. Better restaurants in WGC will now get my business.

Ordered online. Wast old an hour waiting time. After an hour we called and they told us they were packing the food. We phoned 10 minutes later and they were still packing the food. Man who answered the phone was rude, no apology but instead blamed the weather. No offer of refund. Will not be using again.

I like this restaurant as it doesn't try to be the same as other Chinese restaurants. It is simple and the menu doesn't try to cover everything but the food is lovely and fresh, the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Ordered take away Saturday night and now Sunday morning have woken up vomiting & with diarrhoea. The food was not tasty at all and the portions very stingy. We ordered the pineapple rice and it came with one tiny bit of pineapple for example.

I ordered a delivery and was told there would an hours wait which was fine. However, when an hour had passed and I phoned up the restaurant to find out when the food was due, the staff answering the phone didn't seem to care, spoke over me and then told me that they couldn’t indicate when my food was due to be ready and then said they were just about to cook it. It wouldn’t have been so much of a problem if the staff on the phone had been polite but when they started talking to me as if I had put them out, I cancelled it and went to the Dynasty which is a 100 times nicer anyway. I had eaten here before but definitely won’t return. Anywhere else is likely to be better than this place. Don’t waste your money here.

I have been staying in Welwyn Garden City for some weeks on business. I felt like some Chinese takeaway so found this place, viewed the menu on line and called to order. Woman who answered was rude. Took the order and said cash only. I asked her to repeat and she almost shouted cash only under £15. I could have visited an ATM but I refuse t support any outlet with poor customer service. Now that I have read the reviews I feel that I had a lucky break

Always brilliant value for money & great quality

I would give 0 stars If possible. Called to order takeway.(first time here). Lady very rude on the phone rushing me and huffing on the phone to me as if doing me a favour when asked a couple of questions re. Ingredients as we are vegetarian I was told to be quick as she was very busy to reply to me. Shocked!!!

This can only be review of delivery service as it was so SLOW we had to cancel order. Given one hour approx delivery , we were still waiting long after and rang to find out how much longer we would have to wait. Fobbed off with excuses and given no hopeful indication of when it might arrive. Will not be using this restaurant in future.

Fu Hao = staff are rude and standards poor. They were given a couple chances as my friends eat it occasionally when im round but i cant understand why people go there. Probably because locally the choices are slim. Sorry for being so harsh but i dont lie. Not for me

Great for takeaways, can be a wait at busy times

Stopped in for a quick lunch on Saturday. Food was takeaway rather than restaurant standard. The prawn toast was oily and had a slight sour taste to it, so I left it. This really doesn't feel like a thriving restaurant...

Good food compared to others in area but seriously let down by customer service and delivery. 2.5 hours to deliver? Hire some more drivers! And if you don't like just eat then don't use the service.

02.04.19 > We arrived with no-one in the restaurant. The food came quickly and was absolutely DISGUSTING, even the seaweed tasted of mildew FAT and all dishes had no flavour and in a brown gravy. Presentation was awful; plates cold. Then 6 people arrived, and whilst deciding whether to eat the terrible looking dishes the waitress took away one of our tables - how RUDE. This cost £47.70 and we paid with comments advising we will NEVER eat there again or recommend anyone else to. This place needs to be inspected BIG TIME !!!!!

Bad experience,I went here with friends for what was supposed to be a nice meal. Firstly we ordered our food and the lady serving us said to me "oh no dont order that" which i felt was rude. Secondly she messed up our order which resulted in us getting no food after waiting for over an hour, When we asked where the food was we where told "I didnt realise you'd ordered food...you confused me" no appology was given. I also felt very unwelcome here, almost like we where a nuisance. I would not recommend

Very Rude customer service by person (Lady) at front. Food was horrible too. She is cutting food while touching notes and unhygienic. Find a different Chinese take away, not this horrible place.

Terrible service really lets this place down. The staff act as if you are a nuisance by ordering their food! One time we ate in and the staff member sat watching a loud TV program on a laptop just a couple of metres from where we were eating. We used to get take away here a lot but stopped because we simply don't feel welcome. Which is a shame because the food was delicious. The crispy fried wantons were amazing. As was the oyster sauce dish and noodles dish.

About the only Cantonese restaurant in Welwyn Garden. Acceptable food and the staff are friendly but have pressure of take out land deliveries apt the same time. Give it a go.

Service zero. Food not great. Won't be going back. Wine choice not good. Gallo wine at £14.50. Not the best. Seemed more bothered about take outs than seated customers. 2 sets of customers sat down then walked back out. Don't bother. Waste of money. Get a pizza!

This restaurant is one of the few that is open at lunchtime locally other than a standard café/ gastro pub. I had the chicken satay noodles and my partner had sweet chili chicken with rice and spring rolls. The food was good, and we enjoyed it, but neither the food or the surroundings were so amazing it made us desperate to return. My partner is intolerant to MSG, and asked them not to use it, which was not a problem for them (many restaurants serving Chinese food are unable to take it out when requested), so this was a definite plus point. We can definitely confirm there was no MSG as my partner suffered no adverse effects afterwards. In terms of atmosphere, it is a small restaurant packed with tables and really basic. All in all, we'd eat there again for a change, but it wouldn't be a first choice.

We were a party of 6. They have a problem serving everyone's food at the same time. If I go out for a meal I like to eat altogether not separately. They should do away the the restaurant area and just concentrate on take away, which they seem to do anyway. People eating in have to wait too long over people getting take away.

Our favourite Chinese in the area. They do a fantastic shredded chilli beef, and their crispy duck is very tasty too. I live pretty near to it, so can order and pick up usually within 10-15 mins on a Friday or Saturday night - great service.

Promised the wife a Chinese and our normal has closed down, so we tried Fu Hao not been here for ages. It was midweek night and the place was empty, there are a few tables but it is really just a white cloth on a table, no frills. It is primarily a takeaway with a few tables, the same lady who was serving up was also answering the phone.

Placed a large order (around £50) through Just Eat. Food took 2 hours to arrive. When I called to politely enquire as to why there was a delay and when my food would arrive (I suffer from anxiety & panic attacks and dislike confrontation), the lady shouted at me "WE NO LIKE JUST EAT CUSTOMER!" and then she hung up the phone. I called back, and a different lady answered the phone, and in a similar tone, explained that I should order from them directly if I want good service. She then hung up the phone on me as did the previous lady. I cannot help but wonder why they are advertising their business on Just Eat if they have a problem with the medium, but mostly, I cannot help but wonder why this was not explained to me politely, calmly, and with an apology for the delay. My address would have shown on the order and they surely would have remembered that I am a long-running customer who uses them VERY frequently. I have been ordering from Fu Hao for over 10 years (since I moved to WGC), and have never used any other Chinese restaurant. I will not be ordering from them again. Possibly the most frustrating, unpleasant, and unprofessional business interaction I have ever been a part of.

Kids wanted a takeaway and I finally gave in

This is a good food place, our local favourite for crispy duck, but we avoid Fridays and Saturdays. Takeaway customers waiting, phones ringing, a bit chaotic. We've learned from experience!

Last minute decision to go with friends for Saturday night Chinese. Wanted something a bit special. Saw reviews on TripAdvisor and thought "seems OK".

I have ordered food to be delivered at home, I ordered over the phone and the lady was very rude!!! I never received a treatment like that and I'm quite surprise they are still opened. Delivery guy as rude as the lady. the food was fair. My partner called the restaurant to complain about the service but they don't even care.

I visited this restaurant, because I've exhausted all the restaurants in town. I was expecting a nightmare based on some of the reviews on here. It wasn't my experience at all. I ordered takeaway, but the dishes were very tasty and the hostess wasn't rude. I've eaten there twice now and I will most likely be going back in the future.

Me and my fiance waited 2 hrs before our mains came. Do not dine in this restaurant as the take away service is a priority to them. At least 30 different people came into the restaurant for take away and left quite quickly during the 3 hrs that we was sitting there hungry. It Was really annoying as we felt really neglected and hungry! Despite this, the food was really good but not worth the wait.

Horrific customer service! Do not eat here. When I rang to place the order the only person that works there was yelling at me for taking up her time and said I was asking too many questions! She told me to hang up quickly. Then when I went to collect the order I saw her do the same to another customer on the phone. After eating we felt sick because the chicken was undercooked. I rang to tell her this and got yelled at in return. She told me that it was my problem not hers because im not a suitable customer to her style of food. She continued to argue with me. I asked her about her customer service and how it was so bad. She said she has no customer service and doesn't care for my opinion.

Se siente agradable entrar en este acogedor restaurante bajo llave. Por desgracia, en esta ocasión la comida sabía mucho de aceite usado que había sido abusado por sobrecalentamiento. Mi pareja y yo no disfrutar de nuestras comidas y yo siendo recordado el excesivo de aceite por varias horas después y nos sentimos claramente incómodo.
