It's always tasty food, but getting a bit expensive nowadays 😕

Had Chinese takeaway tonight £70 worth of food come home to fill out for the family and all the family had to spit out the first mouthful of food I must say this has been A very very bad experience for us all a waist of not only money but the food was vile and I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog I do not recommend anyone eating out of this place further steps will be taken with the EHO this food will make you badly ill I’ve never had a bad experience like this before but this is discusting and should definitely be closed down

Exceptional food, great service, fast delivery really friendly staff and great authentic food

We are new to WGC and this Chinese take away came recommended to us. We had a lovely meal for the family which was delicious and prepared quickly. We will definitely be going again! Thank you

I usually order from green garden and they are always spot on and good food. Today asked for duck chow mein with no sauce at all and really spicy, i seriously stressed no sauce and was told that’s absolutely fine. I picked up the order get home and I have duck chow mein WITH SAUCE 👀👀 called them to ask what happened and I get told that’s how it comes as in …. Couldn’t I have been given that information as I was ordering so I get something else instead. The apology was lame and the rudeness from the owner when I was trying to explain, really disappointed with todays attitude totally despite been a customer for sometime…. Time to look for a new Chinese restaurant

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had you just need to go in there to see how dirty the kitchen is made me ill AVOID

Been past here many times - a lot of locals use it. Tried several dishes and there a few off putting things. The staff can be a but snappy. The food can be pretty oily/the oil tastes odd (chowmain in particular) And if cash only is a big deal, put it on your front door rather than small sign near the till which can be missed. They appear to have no card facility- never ordered by phone though. The sweet and sour balls are good. All portions seem generous. Just an odd vibe I can't put my finger on.

Amazing consistent Chinese. Have tried others however we always go back to here as it so good. Good size portions and lovely staff xxx

We ALWAYS go to green garden for our Chinese take away. We really enjoyed it and normally have no issues. Except the last time we ordered from here. At 33 weeks pregnant I was really craving a Chinese. This time I got food poisoning and ended up hospitalised! Unfortunately we will not be ordering from here again!!

If you pick the right time to order your food then it will be just done right and taste good. It opens at 5.30pm so I try to order my food about 8.00pm. I always get the same and sometimes it can be a hit or a miss with the chips

This is the best Chinese takeaway we have had in Welwyn Garden City - after trying a few others locally. Food was great, piping hot, reasonable price and very friendly service. They were also very accommodating to a slight menu change. Will be returning.

I very much agree with previous reviewer. We hadn't been for a few years as the food and service were shocking and after someone recommended another takeaway Chinese nearby that we found much better. Now there has been a big reversal we ordered takeaway and the ordering was easy and polite, the food was amazing compared to a few years ago. Whilst the other place has deteriorated with mistakes, long waits and not very polite either. Looking forward to ordering again soon.

Given wrong food don’t know how to cook and what to give they are known for there worst food don’t go if you have lots of good options near you

used to have a take away from here years ago. they always go things wrong and the food was never amazing. however someone recently told me to give them another go. glad i did. i had a beef chow mein, crispy beef and prawn balls. all were so fresh and i was impressed. cant wait for take away night next week now.

Lovely meal, always tasty and hot. Chips occasionally a little soggy but all in all a good, hearty chinese at a good price.

They were brilliant and talked me through exactly what I can have that’s gluten free. There’s a lot available and the can adapt their dishes to suit preferences. The food was absolutely lovely and very fresh and clean (not too salty or msg) I also asked for no added msg. Very friendly and approachable, I was so Thankful.

Decent enough takeaway, used them for years. Frustrating they still only work with cash only.....food is good though.

Really really good, has gotten so much better, it was really hot and lovely.

Crispy beef was very crispy, but to say it should have been chilli sauce. There was no heat to it. Extremely bland. Egg fried rice was more like boiled rice. Beef curry okay.

We have always used the Green Garden for years but the take away we got yesterday 8th June 2022 was no where near as good , the crispy chilli beef was especially bad it was soggy and chewy ,what's happened Green Garden 😞

Just had their meal as first time... I'd say not great. Chicken satay isn't satay (no peanut butter there whatsoever) and the rest of the food is below expectations. I'd love to see a great Chinese which isn't Hakkasan

I found the food tasty and Moreish, so I have been back for more on a regular basis. I am happy to buy here again anytime

2nd time we have been to this Chinese and the food is amazing. The delivery comes in a reasonable time. Unfortunately moving out of WGC and wish we could take the Chinese with us.

Absolutely awful stayed in the Premier Inn welwyn Gardens ordered food and it come got it back to room and never ever tasted anything like it set meal for one Dog food phoned them up to complain and they put the phone down on me never again getting a Chinese scared me that they should be shut down selling that stuff

I went in to buy some sweet and sour pork balls. Was asked if I wanted half or full portion. I asked how many in the full portion was told 10. Menu says 12. Price was £5.70 menu says £5.30. Didn’t argue and I paid. Got pork balls home. Had 10 plus 2 pea sized ones! The old lady seems a bit happier than years ago as she used to be really rude but seems to have perked up......slightly.

Excellent food and great service. The sweet and sour pork to die for and the singpore rice noodles just right, not the spicy and not too rich in curry powder. Thumbs up

A good chinese takeaway. Majority of the time the food is tasty and plentiful. Cash only which isn't a huge deal as long as you know in advance!

Most of our orders have been great, however for the last 3 times the orders have fallen below acceptable. Our orders have either been completely wrong, the sauce provided with the meal has been like wallpaper paste, thing’s are missing, or all of the above. I hope this helps you to improve.

I've been a customer for years and they've never let me down. The shredded crispy chicken with sesame seed in sweet and sour sauce is to die for!

El hotel no está en el centro de la ciudad, pero se llega bien tanto en transporte público (tranvía 22), metro (línea C - parada I.P Pavlova) como a pie (2,5 km) hasta el Puente Carlos.La limpieza era destacable, se esmeraban mucho en este aspecto. Con respecto al desayuno echamos en falta algo de dieta mediterránea, pero hay que entender que la dieta aquí es diferente. En general muy contentos.

I have been ordering from this takeaway shop for over 14 years. The food is always fantastic, cant remember ever having an issue. The staff are friendly and the delivery drivers also.I would say that the price for the Chinese food is a bit expensive.

I’ve eaten here for a few years now and the food is very good. The house special curry is my favourite. The only downside of this place is that they can forget the odd item every now and then, so if you are placing a large order you should check it thoroughly.

Ordered from here for the first time a few months ago and I literally order every weekend now (don't judge me). Food always tastes so nice, piping hot and delivery is always fast. The lady on the phone when you ring up and order is also very nice and cheerful. Definitey recommend.

I have ordered so many times from this Chinese but because i'm now homeless and in howlands house they refused me a delivery even though they delivered to me last week ??not by Emma They need to get rid of Emma who is so disrespectful to customer's i won't be judge by Emma just because i'm homeless ?? please don't order from this place as they judge people

After a hard day baking with the missus , and after a few problems revolving round things going hard ........... we decided we’d had enough cooking for one day and a takeaway was in order . She suggested this place as her husband used to regulate get Saturday takeaway from here . And seeing as it’s Saturday and she’s now on the sofa with me , u thought it was a fitting idea . I collected a d food was ready in 10 mins , outstanding . The last liked the Chinese writing on my shirt but I got a feeling , the amount she laughed , it didn’t say “Tokyo tattoo studio” as Matalan hoped

Have they still the lady answering the phone that got my order wrong ?? I called to say the rice didn't arrive to be told 'one hour' so I put the dinner in the oven and made some rice, 35 minutes. Shame cos I always found their stuff pretty nice. So after forty odd years, its bye from me !!

Ordered a Chinese tonight and it was an hour wait, when the order came they got it wrong, the chicken chow main was too sweet and didn't taste nice, the chicken curry tasted like it wasn't an actual curry where it's hot and spicy, the sweet and sour chicken balls wasn't nice they were to heavy and they gave us pork than chicken, the prawn crackers they gave us one bag, not two of what we have ordered, and the food was crap we just throw it in the bin, the best chinese to go to is new destiny there food is nice and hot

Used a few times, usually collect as delivery times are ridiculous, always over an hour and a half when they say up to an hour. Food used to be average, last 2 times I’ve collected the food has been disgusting. Greasy, jelly like sauce and plain. There has also been items missing on my last 2 items which they refuse the deliver to me or apologise.

Have ordered take away from here in the past and it's been fine, this time though the food came cold...no just cooled down cold but really cold. Springs rolls were fridge cold! Crispy chicken cold. Duck very cold..rice like warm but the chicken chowmain was nice and hot! Rung up to complain and the rude women seemed to think I was making it up...no apology, no refund nothing...Well 10 percent of next order....yeah no thanks

Ordered from green garden for last 15 years at least maybe once a month but have found recently, items are being forgotten from my order when it arrives. About three weeks ago there were a couple of items missing that we had paid for and I rang straight away to advise they were missing. Was told that they wouldn’t be able to deliver them but that they would put a note on our account to say we could have them free next time, no apology and made to feel like I was bothering them by calling. Rang to order tonight spoke to a new lady on the phone with an English accent. Explained what had happened last time and that there should be some kind of note on the account. The person I spoke to said there was no note on the account and that as I couldn’t give the name of the person I spoke to previously or exact date that it was basically tough and they wouldn’t do anything. She was incredibly rude and obnoxious. We have ordered from them regularly with no issues. I was not trying to swing a freebie. It is completely the principle of the fact we had paid for something that they had not delivered and they could not care less! Spoke to a lady called Emma who is quite aggressive on the phone who again was very rude. Don’t know what happened to the customer service at this place as there is none. She finally agreed reluctantly to deliver the couple of items we had not received before along with a further £25 order we placed. This order took over an hour which is fair enough as it’s Saturday night but again there were bits missing. I was sat with my husband when he placed the order for the family which was written down by myself and heard him ask for the item. She totally argued he had not asked for it and was basically shouting at me. I know he had ordered it and so did my son who was sat while he was on the phone. Ended up being her word against hers and with her shouting at me I gave up and just said forget it. Never been shouted at somewhere where you are spending money. There is no level of any respect from them that you speak to them with.

I only had £6 in my pocket and no bank card. So I had a takeaway from the Green Garden and it was superb and served by a nice lady behind the counter

We use this as our regular takeaway. They do seem to be victims of their own success in the fact it's often very busy and they struggle to keep on top of orders and make the odd mistake but over all it's good.

El jardín verde es muy buena para una rápida china para llevar. Tenemos un par de estas en la ciudad de welwyn garden, pero el jardín verde es mucho mejor que los otros. La cocina es muy limpia, lo cual es una gran ventaja, la comida es razonable y buena, el personal es amable y eficiente.

I went back after not using them for over 3 years as i heard it was under new management !!! it is still under the same management and the food is still low quality. I should have known better really as its not busy anymore. I wont be going back i rather drive to Hatfield to Rice Time in town to get a really good takeaway .

I always walk here to order as it's not too far from where I live. Emma is hilarious and always makes me laugh whilst I await my order.Prices are good for the food you are receiving and it's fresh and tastes amazing!Recommend it if you want a quick take away that tastes the best!

Ordered food for 6 people.The person who took the order was rather unfriendly. Food arrived quite quickly but one dish missing.Having rung them again they delivered the missing dish 40 minutes later.We then discovered that another dish was wrong.No compensation offered for problems, or an apology.Food was not very good quality.

My take-away of choice has to be chinese - and I absolutely love the food from here - delicious and well cooked! Every time I have ordered the food has been as expected! Highly recommend this take-away!

Total lack of customer service. The lady who answers the phone is downright rude. The last meal we ordered took twice as long to arrive than stated. on calling back she was very abrupt and hung up on us. the meal then arrived cold and inedible (beyond reheating). On calling back i was told they didnt have time to provide a replacement, then she didnt have time to deal with my complaint and handed me over to someone else. After demanding to speak to a manger I eventually received an apology and was promised a discount of my next order. i tried to take advantage of that tonight and was told there is no discount applied to the account and instead there is a note to say they are unable to deliver to my address now. very poor customer service. Have voted with my feet. took my custom elsewhere and have just enjoyed a tasty, hot meal delivered to my door, within the time stated and with no fuss...

Although chinese food is not our preferred first choice takeaway, This is our favourite Chinese Takeaway in WGC by far and there has never been a dish that we have tried that has left us disappointed. They also do the best Singapore Rice Noodles in WGC. You are never kept waiting long even when they are very busy and they have never got our order wrong. Added bonus is the complimentary prawn crackers.

Food always hot and full of flavour. Never had a issue with cold food. Lovely lady on phone always smiley and offers nice chocolate to the children!Cannot fault! See for yourself

Lovely food. Never had anything wrong.Reasonably priced and delivers so never any issues. Lady who answers phone is lovely and always says delivery will be 45 minutes irrespective of what is ordered. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed

Everybody in my family order completely different things which shows that they taste really good. From last 5 years we only order from them if we fancy Chinese. You won't be disappointed.

i used to use them all the time but the quality of food has gone down hill and the service is also bad. How many times i tried to phone the order and the phone is always off the hook they can't be bothered to take your order,one day i went down there and said about phone being off the hook and the woman told me to be quite as the boss is in and she will get told off. I use Rice Time in Hatfield now great food but i have to drive from WGC to pick up my order as they don't deliver

Visited (after many months) last Wednesday. Telephone order taken....lady said "10-15 minutes darling" I go in 17 minutes later....oops sorry I forgot about your order "YOU WAIT OK" In military style order of communism china. I waited abd finally said "in the last 10 years I've ordered so much from you but I've had enough of being forgotton, let down and your rude service"The green garden lady replied "never again" and gave me a 1.5ltr bottle of coke free. Waited a further 20 mins and got my order.A bottle of icke for 10 years of crap service.Food was ok, a bit Luke warm was the crispy fried squid and half a portion as usual.Goodbye green garden.I will face it you gave me rubbish over the years food and service and now you can roll in it until it chokes you.What a waste of money.

Love this place. Always busy, always good, not had a bad takeaway yet. Highly recommend it, particularly the sweet and sour wantons and chilli and salt squid.

It's a big standard perfectly ok take away and everything I have had from there has been perfectly nice. Their chips are astoundingly nice

I quite like this Chinese takeaway. Its one of the all round best in the area IMHO - the other being Hoy Che.Quite reasonably priced. It delivers. Its not on any of the food ordering websites AFAIK which is a pain as that's how I prefer to order. It can be tricky getting through on the phone - they sometimes seem to not pick up for long periods - especially towards the end of the night (eg about 40 minutes before closing).Once you get through the food is pretty good.

Food from here never disappoints and is always lovely, however ordering it is a different story.Getting through to them is impossible, and no this is not because 'there so busy' they purposely leave the phone off the hook so it goes straight to answer phone or simply do not answer it, I've witnessed this myself.Very rude in the shop almost as if they want you out, was waiting for food and popped out for a cigarette only for someone to lock the door behind me, why I have no idea but I had to bang on the window to be let back in, I can only suggest it was so others did not come in and order.Overall of you don't wantto be stuck phoning them for hours on end your best of going in!

Visiting friends in the area and ordered a Chinese take away from the Green Garden. Easy enough to park outside to pick up which is always a big bonus in my view. We had to wait ten minutes longer than they had said on the telephone but the real surprise was the quality of the food when I got to my mates.Good portion size and quality was good as well. Its not cheap but Chinese and Indian take away meals are not cheap anymore, but this a better than average Chinese take away in my opinion.

I've been here many times before for a takeaway. They seem to have scrubbed all previous reviews? Why? Because they were bad.The old Chinese woman in this place is a very rude person. Although she wasn't here tonight.The dishes I had contained about 50% meat. All the rest was onion and sauce. I still go back over the years but they need to improve customer connection and the food. The prices are high compared to other Chinese restaurants. Try the one half a mile away in peartree lane and compare the two. :)

One of the best Chinese takeaways in the town. Had a couple of mishaps but all in all very tasty food. Gets very busy over the weekend so you need to order well in advance.
