Best curry sauce I’ve tried, not too much spice but not too little. Best cheese chips, they’re crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Very friendly staff too.

Went for Chinese for tea 6 pm very poor meal tonight ,very busy in there couldn't eat the sweet and sour chicken ,just solid , don't know what my chop suey was but it wasn't that ,chips were fresh and that's about all ,rubbish what. Waste of £28

The best Chinese take away in Welwyn Garden City. Extensive menu, good portion sizes, and fair price. All the dishes that we have tried have been very tasty. Meat is plentiful and tender. The fish and chips are also very nice - the batter is crispy and not greasy and the fish is soft. The chips are amazing. It is the best chip shop in the area. Staff are friendly. Pre-order by phone to minimise waiting time. Highly recommend!

Food is always good whether it's Chinese or fish & chips. My daughters love eating from their as a special friday takeaway treat. Staff are always friendly, and portion sizes are bountiful. Best chip ship in welwyn.

Simply the best fish and chips town..Fish nice and fresh so big flakes of cod and chips superb - chip shop chips with a slight crunch. Comparable with any chip shop i have been to elsewhere. I Have been going for years and they just get better.

Absolutely, without doubt the worst Chinese we've ever experienced. Everything was literally dripping with grease & tasted disgusting. It actually made our house smell for hours, would give zero stars if it was an option.

Been going here for 10+ years never again had to wait over an hour and then when I arrived home half of the order was missing then I was told that I only ordered half? Nearly £20 for 1 sausage in batter and 2 chips I think that's a bit of a rip off

Has been in business for years and great place for fish and chips or Chinese but prices have risen a bit recently so it's not quite as good value as it used to be. Still only takes cash payment.

Vile! Quite easily the worst Chinese takeaway for a very long time. The food was very greasy, which with Crispy Chilli Beef is quite an achievement.The vegetable Chow Mein had barely any veg in it at all and looked like it was a concoction of various leftovers from various days and tasted as such. The honey spare ribs were mainly grissle and bone and hardly any meat. I really can’t recommend anything about this overpriced takeaway except the delivery guy who walked back to his car in the rain to get the card payment machine. Still both waiting to see if we need to be sick so use at your own risk!

I'd say in top 3 fish and chips I've ever had in my life. Delicious everytime and the Chinese Malaysian guy serving has great chat once he gets going. I make excuses to visit my friends in Welwyn Garden City just to get food from here!

Worst service I've ever experienced from a chippy, so rude and miserable. My food was greasy and tasted horrible, to top it off I've spend the night and today on the toilet. Worst fish and chips I've ever had.

Been coming here for over 20 years lovely fish and chips but last few times not happy last night butterfly prawns dry and they forgot the sauce, last time they forgot to add 2 egg fried rice's only received one and time before beef with mushrooms hardly any meat and it was very fatty need to check all items in bag sincewe travel 15 minutes to get here so cannot return

Some of the best Fish and chips around and the Chinese food is great too. Everything is always perfectly cooked and the chips are just the way I like them, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Got delivery for the first time and other than roadworks that held it up It arrived in good time, all the food was still hot and tasted delicious. 10/10 will be buying even more now I know delivery is available.

Food is ok. At best. Sat in there tonite for 30 mins and people arriving after me getting their food. I left and went to the coop. My missus arrived home after me with food. Its in the bin

Worst Chinese takeway ever! Raw chicken wings, and few weeks before 4 of us got food poisoning

When you go and collect its usually very quick, quality is very good.

I will not order food from here again!! Gave them the benefit of the doubt after they got a 0 hygiene rating, but no more!! These people who are praising their food must have very low expectations!!

Hit and miss sometimes, chips used to be the best but messing about with oil so probably gone cheap. But at least they put the prices up...

I tried this place for the first time recently - fish was ok but the chips were only fit for the bin - reheated in old oil - atrocious. Will not be using again.

Probably the best fish & chips I've had that isn't by the beach! Cannot fault the Chinese food either, every dish I've tried is superb and the price is fair and the portion size is satisfying. They also deliver which is a bonus. I completely recommend trying this restaurant it's great

Very disappointed that Hoy Che would not deliver to my address as I am only trying to order for 1 person! Surely if I pay the delivery fee, they should be able to deliver my food?

Unfortunately it's very hit and miss with the food here, it's either really nice or inedible!! The last Chinese takeaway I had from here was not nice, the food tasted like it had been 're heated from the day before and the chips tasted like old fat!!

Awful service, i have ordered a food at 6pm delivery driver turned up 7pm and blamed it on the kitchen the food wasn't packed properly and was all over the bag so went back to replace it. I called just befor 8pm and they didn't even know about it and told me will be another half an hour... Disgustingly poor service and disappointed.

This takeaway has very much improved since it 1st started. (Maybe changed ownership) The food is freshly cooked and very tasty. In my opinion the fish n chips is superbly cooked and reasonably priced. (Large portions) Go see for yourself, its the best in town by far.

Menu prices out of date. Almost £10 more than I expected. Taste was below par: bland sauces, sesame toast like a brick, duck tough, pork tasted old and tired. Disappointing - never again.

Lost all that made it special. I’m not sure if there are new owners or what’s happened to Hoy Che but the food quality has gone down and the staff are beyond rude. I’d thought it had gotten bad enough and then on a recent visit, they had “forgot to cook your food” and asked if I’d wait 30 minutes while they fix their error. How does a takeaway forget to cook food? I suggest you do what I did and take your business and money elsewhere.

I didn't think it was very good. The beef was very fatty and chewy. It wasn't just one bit either. Cheap quality. The sticky beef wasn't nice either, didn't taste fresh

This is possibly the worst Chinese I've ever had the food was stone cold. The meat was under cooked and to top it all off there were a number of hairs in it. No wonder they got a massive fine for their hygiene.

Ordered for my three teenagers; Fish, chips and nuggets. The word "Devine" came out the teens eating their supper! What more can I say. Thank you Hoy Che!! Definitely coming back!!!

I visit Hoy Che almost weekly as a treat. The normal order for fish and chips is always at it's best and the Manager has accommodated my order re: certain extra's changes due to allergies. I also order from the Chinese menu and everything is well made and tastes fab. I look forward to my weekly treat and speaking to the Manager who is always busy but will have time to laugh and include his customers. Thank you!!!

Just ordered our first take away from hoy che during the lockdown. It was absolutely divine, especially the chicken and ham spring rolls, best spring roll I've ever had!!! Great service too, easy to order and delivery was prompt. Thank you very much!!!

Have had the worst food poisoning experienced in my life from here. Avoid the salt and pepper chicken wings. I have been so ill its horrible how lack of care in the food industry can cause people to suffer. Avoid Avoid!!!

Paid almost £4 for a LARGE chips got home and there was no more than a hand full in there and they were cold, greasy and not even edable.

Haddock n chips exquisite. Yum yum always takes the skin off for us. Never too much trouble. Will take photo next time.

We always get our fish and chips from here, you can depend on a good size portion of chips and lovely batter on the fish.

Just brought some fish and chips tonight,, unfortunately the chips was mixed with chips from yesterday. How I know? You can clearly taste fresh with old chips. So a message to the owner please do not think you can fool your customer and please work in a way that is upstandingnand honest it would help with better reviews and more customers.

Interesting place- average Chinese but very good fish and chips. The owner is a nice chap and cares about his shop. If you are finding yourself near this wondrous restaurant be sure to drop in and eat a fishy surprise.

We tried them a lot and never disappointed us honestly. Very good portions, fast and value for money. The owners are always present as well. Curry prawns are amazing

Had a pie and chips from here a few months ago which was so hot it scalded my lip, I swore I wouldn't go until tonight. Had the worst sweet and sour chicken, it was rank, lesson learnt.
