Nando's in Exeter

I came here to eat with my friends and my food came 10 minutes after them and they had already finished. When I asked them they told me it was coming and to sit down, it took another 5 minutes and the service was dreadful.

Ordered food online, and I ordered a chickpea burger and I wanted to Portuguese roll with it, but there was no indication that it would a Portuguese roll. I was shocked to see when it came out that it was an English muffin that was frost bitten and hard as a rock on the outside. I told the waitress and all she said was, I’m sorry and I completely understand!!!?

Fantastic visit staff were brilliant... The young girl serving us was so helpfull and also the resturant was really clean

The food wasn't as good as it used to be, service was very slow don't go if your in a rush! The rice was burnt had to return it for a new one! The tables need a good wipe down and the seats had like food all over them!!

The food was spot on, however the service was poor. We ordered through the QR code on our table, and had go wait 10 mins just for our glasses for the bottomless soft drinks. We ordered the kids combo meal where we ordered a strawberry frozen yoghurt, which we found out later they didn't even have on the general menu. The meal took nearly 40 minutes from ordering to be brought out to us and the burger was cold. After our main, 3 of our party ordered frozen yoghurts which were brought out before our table had even been cleared. I counted numerous waiting staff who walked past our table and didn't even come to clear our plates that we has stacked ourselves. At this point we were still waiting for our sons dessert. I had to ask the waitress for it to which she then had to go and check to make sure what we had ordered. The toilets were dirty, one waant working as it was full to the brim of poop, and the other 2 toiiets had no paper in. This was was our first and possibly last visit there.

Excellent customer service, really friendly staff, very helpful. Clean and tidy resteraunt. Nice atmosphere. Will return. Ice cream yum!

Good quick service, food was hot and tasty, area was clean. Would visit again. App ordering makes it really easy and despite getting busy whilst we were there they cleared tables quickly.

Another one with a bad experience. The tables sat empty. Staff running around, doing nothing as far as I could see. Gave up after 15 mins, went elsewhere, which is what I suggest you do.

Decided to go for the sharing platter with my mate and sides were savoury rice..mash.chips and garlic bread llus 2 bottonless drinks The chicken (size of a budgie) was ok but nothing special..the 2 breasts were a joke size wise but were tasty..the 4 boneless thighs were tiny and each about the size of a dessert spoon bowl..they were getting their moneys worth out of that budgie Next the sides...well what a let down A small bowl of mash that had s decidedly packet taste to it...the rice again was decidedly packet tasting...the chips were soggy oven chips..a total of 24 chips and the bread was to tough we gave up on it. We were so hungry and pee'd off after that we went to kfc after as the "sharing platter" was at best a starter for 1 And the price for this sad joke was just shy of £37 Avoid like the plague folks

Visited at 5.50pm and we're told it was "fully booked". Nando's don't allow booking at this restaurant - it says so on the Nando's website page for it ("just show up.....") - so how, when there were plenty of small 4 person tables empty, could they be fully booked? Shocking attititude to customer service from a brand that usually delivers good experiences.

We stopped off at your NANDO’S Marsh Barton branch on the way to the cinema. We had over an hour to eat and go, we ordered via the Ap, then nothing! We were quickly forgotten about, I had to go up to the counter to collect our bottomless glasses and then we waited and waited and waited. Whilst other tables that came in after us were being served and even some tables had had their food and left and then the next persons were getting their food…. Finally after nearly 45 minutes of waiting, I went up to ask where our order was only to be told it would be with us in 2 minutes…. After a waiting an HOUR, the food finally arrived! We didn’t have time to eat in so we asked for it to go and just managed to get to the cinema to watch the film, whilst hastily eating our food on the go.. I have read on Trip advisor that other customers had also complained about delays and others being served before them, clearly you have a problem! Maybe you need to invest in a better computerised system? Also, the restaurant floor was disgusting, although the girl who had placed us at the table said that she had cleaned it, she didn’t think to look under the table which was covered in sauce and food. I was worried that if that’s how you kept your restaurant clean, I worried how clean the kitchen would be!! Overall, a terrible experience and no apologies…..

Very disappointed after our experience today. The young girl who “greeted” and seated us (dark hair and ponytail but didn’t catch her name) had the attitude of someone who clearly didn’t want to be there and was far from welcoming. I went up to order and was served by the same rude girl then went back to our table to wait for our food. We waited for easily over half an hour in a restaurant that was not even half full and yet the team seemed clearly overwhelmed. Working in hospitality myself, I can empathise with the pressures of a busy service however this just seemed like a team with bad attitudes that were poorly managed. The food eventually came without acknowledgement or apology for the wait and my order was wrong. I told them that wasn’t what I ordered and they replied “Well yeah there’s more food coming” but I had meant that the pita wasn’t something any of us had ordered, she proceeded to roll her eyes and storm off with the plate, another girl “Maisie” brought over the rest of the food and I asked how long it would be for the Sunset burger, that I had ordered, she said that it would be at least another 15 minutes for the sunset burger and chips that I ordered to be made as they’d be doing it from scratch and told me that I must have ordered the pita as it was on the order but knowing I hadn’t I disputed this and she walked away whilst I was speaking without offering any sauces or anything for my daughters and partners food that had been served, disappointing for them as they would’ve liked some butter and mayo. I have never experienced such rude and disappointing service from any establishment but it was particularly disappointing as we usually love Nando’s. I did speak to the manager on duty about the rudeness of the 2 girls who had served us and she seemed flustered and just said that the food was being made, nothing was offered in an attempt to rectify their mistake or the shocking service we had received.

Fantastic service and really accommodating especially Katie Very welcoming and helpful Will return again.

Best Nandos I have been too. I have a very mild allergy to tomato seeds, the team went above and beyond to ensure I knew all the ingredients in each dish using the tablet, ordered at the order station. Everything was fresh and tailored to ensure I didn’t come into contact with any fresh tomato. Even my peri salt came in little packets to put on myself so chips were lovely and hot. And the service was very quick, food arrived hot and was delicious!

She was really accommodating as were the rest of the staff! Food was lovely and it’s been a great trip! I don’t carry cash and I wanted to tip by card but I couldn’t! So I wanted to write the review :) Thanks for having us!

Arrived after ibounce with 3 hungry boys. None of us had ever been to a nandos so all new to us. Were shown a table and as we had never been before, the lovely friendly man who took us to our seats said he would do us some tasters so we could try the different range of coatings on the good, from mild to hot. He bought a plate of wings with flags on telling us the type of spice and even a plate of veg chicken fir my son to try. Thought this was so helpful, thankyou. They ordered off the kids menu and I had a burger . Kids had refillables as they wanted the ice-cream off the menu and not the drinks. They loved being able to go and get their own drinks. The food came with the coatings they chose and they all finished their plates. The food was delicious and I will definitely return with my son as the place was lovely , very friendly, helpful staff and not overpriced as so many places are. A nice branch that’s clean, tidy and open plan with great managers, (Pascal is very professional) but the food let’s the whole place down. The food is typical Nandos grub but ours wasn’t cooked with much care & attention. It seemed thrown on the plate and ended up tasting that way. My pitta and peri chips arrived cold, this was then sorted but when it came back the chips were still luke warm and the pitta was too toasted, chewy and not very pleasant to eat. My chips also lacked peri salt and were pretty much just standard chips. My husband and I are both veggies & totallyoce plant based stuff but the fact Nandos no longer offers regular Mayo along side the plant based isn’t really acceptable. I know it’s better for the planet but their vegan Mayo is utterly utterly disgusting & you can really taste it. I wouldn’t mind if they used something like Hellmans vegan Mayo which tastes like Mayo but their Mayo is pure vinegar which you can see based on the calorie content. Overall it was a really dissatisfying meal and Nandos really need to step up their game and offer better veggie options that aren’t so boring.

First visit to this branch on BHM. Arrived to be greeted and asked to take a seat whilst a table became available. We were also handed a menu to take a look whilst waiting. Within less than 5 mins we were taken to our table, explained how to order. The gentleman wearing a red t-shirt was exceptionally friendly and informative. We chose our meal ordered and it arrived very quickly. Have to day the meal was absolutely delicious. Even though they were busy, no one looked under pressure,all were extremely friendly with smiles on their faces. Hospitality is a difficult trade to work in at this current time esp at peak times. Thank you for a lovely time with lovely foorld and spot on service. We will be back

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly guy who seated us promptly. I had to ask about allergens as I am coeliac. He brought me over an iPad to see what I could eat and advised me to order at the counter. iPad not the easiest to use, was easier doing it in my phone. I went up to order our food and was served by the manager due to allergies. They were understanding and didn’t make me feel like an outcast. They then explained where the drinks, cutlery and sauces were. They didn’t assume I just knew everything. I got our drinks and cutlery etc. the whole area was very clean and well kept. The food came promptly, we had a starter of wings roulette, which were delicious, and the guy who greeted us did a check back, which didn’t feel forced. And the plate was promptly cleaned away when finished. The mains then came out in a timely manor. I had the half chicken, medium, with peri chips and corn on the cob. My niece had the burger, extra hot, with chips which looked amazing. Mine came with an allergen flag, which helped me feel confident that they were doing what they could. It was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be returning.

Called in on our way for a weekend break, I had accumulated a free whole chicken and half chicken so made the most of a cheap meal. Was worth it too. No complaints and the service was good

Just back from nandos MB. OK at best. Bloody oven chips of all things if your having chips have fresh chips. skin on preferably. Plate looked as vanilla as it possibly could. We arrived at a fairly busy early evening time, as we needed to be away pretty quick to get to a theatre performance we asked our server Ryan who also happened to be one of the chefs, if there was any chance of a fairly prompt order so as not to be late. He was very accommodating and rustled up our food straight away, twenty minutes later we were fed and on our way to the Northcott. Top man Ryan thanks very much, food was excellent and the show was brilliant.

Nothing special about this place, previous Nando’s I have been to have had a better atmosphere.. this one seemed a bit downbeat despite being new. The cashiers seemed annoyed that they had to leave the till (despite only one customer being there) to assign us a table and when we went to order they were quite rude too. Food was okay, again not the nicest Nando’s food I’ve had eg garlic bread coming out burnt. Would probably return if i was in the area and really craved Nando’s otherwise I’d be happy to go to the kfc opposite.

Visited on 24th May, for our granddaughters 18th birthday celebration.

Love nandos but had bad experience at this one, they forgot our order so we had to wait for ages and had to call someone over to find out what was going on,, to be fair the guy who came over dealt with it quite well.

New Nandos on the Marsh Barton Trading estate which is a lot easier to get to and you dont have to fork out stupid parking chargers to visit.

Never in my life have I had such a bad experience from Nando’s! I have been to the Nando’s in the town and always receive exceptional service but this store was far from good.

Never been to this Nando’s before and really disappointed with the service. We waited 30 minutes for food and in that 15 minutes our food was under the hot plate. When we raised the concern we were told the ticket had got lost or fallen off. So a fresh batch was made minute 5 minutes which was good. Then they had workmen In behind the counter where they were serving food and drilling at the same time. Even one of the workers decided to take a selfie of himself in front of the food they were drilling above!! Won’t be going here again.

Lunch at the recently opened Nando's seemed a good idea ~ an opportunity to try the latest introduction to the Alphington community of restaurants ~ on entry the surprise to note few customers and instant attention from a very young lady was enough to raise doubts ~ that said our lunch choice arrived quickly but no offer of anything extra and no mid-meal satisfaction check ~ we really would have liked assistance to decipher the menu, a complex document full of decorative art work that might well be enough to confuse the first timer. Our meal of chicken and vegetables was fine but prompted an overall impression later that a repeat visit to Nando's was hardly likely.

Staff are attentive and excellent. Can’t go wrong with a Nando’s! Great meal and great Saturday night

As like most people, I do enjoy a 'cheeky Nando's'. Have visited this new restaurant about 5 times already as it is very near a hotel that I stay in for business trips to Exeter, and the food has always been up to normal tasty standards.

On a visit to Exeter and found a newly opened Nando’s. Just as one expected with very friendly staff. At least no longer have to get onto town any longer.

what can i say?! the staff were very good + welcoming and the service was extremely quick, the food was on another level as it was so tasty and it was even better than the princesshay one!! we weren’t sure if it would be great as it had only been open a few days but it certainly didn’t disappoint! definitely coming back again!!!

Service was good, staff attentive. But... the restaurant was cold, there was a cold draught where we were sitting and I had to wear my coat. I asked if we could move and the server agreed it was a particularly cold restaurant. This was my first visit to Nando’s and I have to say I was disappointed. I had the Fino Pitta and it was dry tasteless and cold. There was soggy chicken skin inside the pita which was a nasty surprise. Chips were also cold and poor quality. Nothing crispy or tasty about them. The thing which horrified me above all though was the drinks dispensers. You helped yourself with top ups. The dispenser was operated by pushing your dirty used glass against the same plastic lever that everyone else pushed their used dirty glasses against. This is a health disaster waiting to happen. Servers were very good and couldn’t do enough and there seemed plenty of them. I think Parking here could be an issue, we saw several customers drive away, unable to find any parking. Hope they sort their food temperatures out and change their drinks dispensers quickly.

Great service and great food for there first night could not fault anything well done to you all and we will be back soon highly recomend

Visited on one of the first couple of opening days. New staff but they handled a full restaurant like professionals, good addition to Alphington Park and a new lunch destination for myself! From your friends at Chiquito!
