Nice place, manager served us and he was very kind with suggestions on what to get. I preferred getting the curries over the chef specials as they were saucier and matched better with the rice/naans. The rice portions are huge and was nice to see compared to other Nepalese/indian restaurants that give a much smaller portion. Overall decent experience!

Another Burton Road establishment, and one of the two Nepalese curry houses competing for attention locally (the other being the Great Kathmandu). To be clear, both are fantastic, and I've never had a bad experience at either, but Namaste's always felt a little bit more "up market"? Not in the sense of pricing, both are very reasonable, excellent value for money, with a delicious selection of regional specialities, plus all the regular curry styles one used to find down the curry mile. Maybe it's just the decor. In any case, if you're in the mood for curry, this is a solid choice! At the time of writing, their online menu is, annoyingly, a broken link but the "order online" section of their site looks similar to the menu we ordered from in-house. Personally, I would recommend the Namaste Kofta Makhanwala, with Paratha and rice!

Ate here with a colleague and it was a wonderful experience. Proper Nepali momos to start followed by main courses of flavoursome, generous cooking. The dishes were not overwhelmed with clumsy spicing but were balanced, subtle and delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive; the atmosphere was great. What a gem of a place. I'll definitely return.

We ordered the momos, lamb chops and nepali crispy chicken. The chicken was juicy and full of flavour. The lamb chops were a disappointment, it didn’t have the usual charred flavour and it was a bit grainy rather than tender texture. The momos is a must order just because it’s an authentic starter to order. For the mains we ordered lamb kahari, fish balti and kantipur methi. My favourite was the lamb kahari, full of flavour and the lamb was tender. My least favourite is the kantipir methi, it’s quite pricey for what you get, not much meat in it and the flavour was lacking. I did also enjoy the fish balti as the fish pieces were still in tact, whereas some places make it like all mushy and just not as great. Generous portions of rice too, the garlic naan was fluffy and fresh.

Probably one of the worst food we had in Manchester. Starting with Lassi it was too bad we had to return. Starters also too bland , and main course was equally awful. Not sure why this restaurant has 4+ rating. Wont recommend

Gave 5 for the atmosphere because I didn’t dine in. Although I’m glad I didn’t eat in because the food was awful and it wouldn’t have been a waste of time and money. Don’t understand why this is so highly rated on the apps because it was one of the worst meals we’ve had. The Onion Pakoda and chips were freezing. The Masala King Prawn curry was not a Masala at all. Masalas are made with cream/yoghurt. This was brown curry and seemed more like a mild Karahi than anything. The Garlic Nan bread is stuffed with huge slices of garlic, which seems lazy and is unappetising. The best part of the meal was the pilau rice. It was the only item that was hot and seemed fresh. That says it all. I’ve eaten here before and didn’t like it but thought I’d give it another go because it could have been an off night and all the reviews seem positive. Wish I’d gone with my instinct. Waste of money.

Food was great, gave it 4 stars instead of 3 because they had halal options, well-seasoned, service was good, but over all it was kind of over-priced, the main jalfrezi was 10.5 but came without rice, costed another 2/3 quid for rice, which wasn't too bad tbf. There were 4 us and they bought out pappadum's for us (2 small ones each) and it cost 14 quid for that, thought that was a rip off considering other places it either comes complementary or significantly cheaper, I asked why it was priced so high and they claimed it was as it came with the 4 small sauces and the little mini cup of chopped onions, still not worth 14 quid for just pappadum's... Mango lassi was only 2.95 but the cup was extremely small. Went on a Sunday night so parking was easy to find nearby.

Just had a fab night out at the famous Namaste Nepalese on Burton Road! Were regular customers til we moved out of the area a decade ago, but come as often as we can for the gorgeous Lamb Momocha starter, Chicken Shak-shuka and Bhotowan, Tarka Dhal and Best Naan Breads in the whole country! Turned out it was the full re-opening night, post-refurbishment celebration with free buffet and entertainment, which was a ticketed event, except we didn't have any tickets and hadn't even booked. However, we were welcomed with open arms. We so enjoyed watching the wonderful dancing and were so stuffed when we danced our way out after a fantastic evening. Thank you so much and "Namaste" to Chandhra and all his wonderful team. We'll be back soon. Tony and Margot (Reddish) x

Worst Nepalese restaurant ever. After a long day of travelling from Scotland we decided to stop here for dinner. The drinks tasted very diluted. Food took a long time to arrive and was mediocre at best. It seemed like chilly was the only seasoning used. The naan was the only good part of the meal. As a Nepalese person this was the worst experience I’ve had with my cultures food.

We had poppadoms with a tray of dips, followed by seekh kebab starter which we shared. Our food and drinks order was taken by Jay the waiter who could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. For our main course, my partner had a chicken zhalfrezi and I had a lamb karahi. With this, we ordered a pilau rice and a garlic nan which we shared. The lamb karahi is always sensational at the Namaste and they have never disappointed me yet. My partner loved her chicken dish and the garlic nan is amongst the best we've had in any restaurant. Joule, the manager makes a great effort and always goes the extra mile to ensure you are well looked after. The prices are extremely good value, especially in the current economic climate. In summary, we have been going to the Namaste for about 7 or 8 years, I cannot recommend them highly enough and on reflection should have written this review long ago.

Service wasn't as good as you would expect. The starter arrived fairly quickly. However found my self waiting almost 30 mins after finishing starter for the main course to arrive. When you consider the place was far from full, it was very disappointing. The lamb in the Namaste mixed starter was overcooked and therefore not tender. The glass of house red wine was almost freezing cold. The two main course meals Kahari chicken and Passanda chicken were extremely tasty served up with a generous portion of basmati rice. The naan bread was also delicious. Service wasn't the best. Not sure I would visit the place again. But it was all very reasonably priced.

Not fit for human consumption all meats used in the dishes were old dried out meats chicken tikka ,mixed meats, seekh kebab, and tandoori lamb chops or should i say boiled lamb chops if you can call them that they were all gristle, ordered two curries a jalfrezi and a madras , they were saturated in salt totally unedible gagging after just a taste, the poppadom was smashed to bits, the only positive points was the roti bread and the rices, but everything else was a huge mistake, the delivery was a let down, the restaurant hadn't given the driver the full address only the postcode, the food was all stone cold,i couldn't understand why they delivered cold food as the restaurant is only 0.7km from my home, when i rang the restaurant the person i spoke to was not helpful, his reply was that no managment was available (on a Saturday evening i thought that very odd) he said call back next Wednesday,I spent a total of £55.45 for complete rubbish I think they have two menus takeaway and eat in as the reviews all give positive results , but the takeaways are all negative,I do hope the management read this as i want a refund or i will be using chargeback on my bank account for a full refund.

Bharatpur chicken - It’s not barbecued chicken in gravy, misleading description. It was just a chunks of frozen chicken in sour cream based gravy. It was not even good and fresh. 2. Tandoori chicken - It was served cold ,definitely not prepared fresh. Not worth the money.Got no chutney or salad with it. Even the packaging is very bad and open.Just 2 small aluminium boxes. No stars for this place. Terrible, awful and worst restaurant I have ever been to. Momos were the worst, which is what this place should be known for. They were uncooked, 80% of the momos were flour, and 20% stuffing. They were cold. Took 45 minutes to reach our table. Wrong order (half of the order) of momos was served and took another 15 minutes to bring the right ones. For the main course, we ordered GARLIC CHICKEN, ROTI, RICE and TADKA DAAL. Dal had no salt. I mean NO SALT, not less salt. Garlic Chicken was okay but it was definitely not fresh. Was from a day or two before, I am pretty sure. Roti was the only thing that I thought was okay. Service is SUPER SLOW AND BAD. The staff has no clue about what's happening, what's on menu and the order was wrongly taken and wrongly communicated to the kitchen. The Mango lassi that was served to us was split curd. It was bad.

Namaste are masters of creating highly individual tastes. Each dish is handled with advanced expertise. This is rare. Two outstanding dishes are Seafood Supreme and Dilkush Masala, but over the last fifteen years, we have never had anything that wasn't delicious. Also the Onion Kulcha...

Food was quite nice but left me with a bad stomach the next day. The service was okay but the waiter was rude asking for extra money for a tip.

Awful restaurant. Three of my Nepalese friends and I visited here to try a Nepali taste. We ordered chicken Momo( 2 different types) and they were just horrible, not fully cooked, had lots of flour with less chicken and other ingredients and it was served with a random commercial sauce( usually it is served with a Nepali style sauce made with lots of herbs and spices), when complained the manager( from Bangladesh) said it is not their fault, and we are the first to complain about it, then I asked him about his understanding of MOMO( MOMO have always been my fav food and has tried most of the best momos in Kathmandu and have tried few good momos in the UK as well). After a few arguments, he admitted that they modified it to attract the English guests, which is their main priority. It is OK to modify the dish to match the local demand, but it’s completely unethical to brand it as a Nepalese Momo and make money selling a product that is not even near the taste of what it should taste like. We did not try other food. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN AUTHENTIC NEPALESE TASTE, PLEASE AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

We ate there once and everything was unbelievably tasty. We've ordered a delivery and it was the worst Indian I've ever had. They lost me as a customer.

Visited this restaurant with a couple of friends. Never tried Nepalese food before. Delicious food, waiter was very helpful and great service provided. If you want something a bit different from standard Indian food, would recommend trying this restaurant. Range of drinks on offer too.

Service was appalling. The restaurant was overrun with takeaway orders which meant people dining in had to wait 1:30th for food. The staff were reluctant to engage with diners and we had to actively flag down waiters for updates, ordering food, even the bill. The food was rushed in the end and the order was wrong even though we’d repeated it back to the waiter twice to make sure. Food was quite basic and bland - I wouldn’t eat here again
