The Moon in Manchester

My family have been coming here for many years and we often have a takeaway from here on a Friday night. The staff in The Moon also so nice and friendly and the food is very reasonably priced! It’s nice to see this business continues to thrive :)

As a regular Mooner I thought I’d write a review. Never had a problem here, with brilliant service and delicious food. Look forward for my next Mooning session!

Been Mooning a few times now and everytime its spot on. Great food, brilliant service and great bang for your buck. Recently had a birthday celebration with a few friends, and out there own heart they surprised me with a free dessert. Will be coming back very soon…!!

We booked a birthday dinner at moon restaurant. The food was very reasonably priced and service was excellent- Shazad especially made our experience very pleasant they met all our needs and brought out a free birthday cake! We will 100% be returning and would defiantly recommend!

Really disappointing Veg Samosa were lacking in flavour& extremely greasy&meat ones were greasy also&hardly any minced lamb tasted more of mashed potato tbh Kofta Biryani koftas overdone Mixed grill was fine 10 take chicken pieces tasteless Chicken Balti fair Curry sauces hot Curry sauces mild both tasted the same Poppadoms standard but oinions&mango&mint sides tiny&certainly not enough for 3 people Polite on phone&Delivered within 45mins hot but sadly only gets 2 stars

Went there for the first time a few days ago and was really impressed. Good service, tasty food and will definitely be back.

do not recommand for big groups dissapointed that staff are unable to split the bill dispite requesting prior to ordering curry was ok but not rich in flavour also there is a price for bringing your own alcohol

One of the best value meals I’ve had in a long while. Absolutely delicious mix grill. The food arrived (delivery) piping hot and was very fresh. I’ll be using this restaurant more often.

Both times I’ve ordered a dansak from here they’ve given me a korma. Samosas are the best in Manchester but doesn’t mean anything when I’ve been given the wrong curry twice.

Not ordered from here for a while and the Lamb Saag was very tasty and meat was lovely. Will definitely be ordering again 👍🏽

The biryani was awful. It was off, must have been a few days old and I paid £17 for it, I’m not happy because this was to be served to my guests.

Have drank glasses of milk with more flavour.

the shamis were cold, the yoghurt sauce was congealed.

lamb chops were burnt. The curry was not what I ordered.

Was an amazing experience, delicious food and lovely staff members. LOVED THE toilets and the menu options a very very great experience.

sauce was quite watery, the naans were not crisp, as if old and warmed up. it's usually nice from here so rather surprised.

I’ve dined here a few times and don’t get me wrong on this- it’s incredible if you’re eating in & fantastic value. Would recommend booking a table 100%. However ordering it for delivery has to be an absolute NO. First time we ordered, it arrived almost 2 hours late (i understand it was very busy and its a very popular spot) but that was not okay. We decided to order it just now and the food arrived cold- including the rice which isn’t very safe. All sundries were very stale tasting like they’d been sat out for hours. I also was handed it in an open bag that hadn't been sealed for warmth and also for safety reasons. I regret eating it and feels a waste of money and a risk tbh.

Had one of the best saag paneer so have ever had in my life here and I’ve had a few of these in my life. Servers were really lovely and I really enjoyed my meal here. Will be bringing my family and friends here

Food was lovely but sent wrong curry

Paneer curry was barely a curry, madras was just not a madras. No veggies in the curry, just seemed blended and the chicken had an odd texture

I recently got a chicken tikka masala through delivery app. The curry tasted so sweet, the worst tikka masala I ever had.

Came here as a group of 7 for a celebration meal. First class service from all the staff that night with brilliant food and drinks. We ordered mocktails (strawberry mojito, virgen mojit, piña colada, strawberry daiquiri), poppadoms and condiments, starters (mixed grill, shami kebab, onion bhaji, meat samosa, and veg samosa), and mains (chicken curry, butter chicken, and lamb curry, rice, and naan) to share. My friend and I cheekily treated ourselves with their desserts (American chocolate fudge cake and matka kulfi). Everything was great and we enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere; it was quite busy but you can still hear each other. The only comment: lamb tikka (in the mixed grill) and the lamb meat (from the main dish) were a little salty and overcooked. Other than that, everything was perfect!

Sadly, the food has gone downhill recently. Used to be my favourite place.

Friendly staff, great food, decent price

I ordered two tickets Karahi one lamb and one chicken. Both were half the size only had 5 pieces each. I ordered chicken pakora I kid u not only 3 tiny pieces for 4.20. Both Karahi taste horrible and had no spice in it. Worst food I tasted in 28 years of ordering through Just Eat. On top I called restaurant and guy said so what this is what u going to get. It was 20mins late as well and cold.

So gutted I only found this place 2 weeks before I'm due to move away from Manchester... I came in to get a takeaway, and the service, atmosphere & food itself was fantastic. I was treated with just as much courtesy and respect as sit-in customers which doesn't always tend to happen in restaurants that have takeaway options. Very reasonably priced also. Highly recommend and actually wish I'd dined in now with friends!!

Best curry I’ve ever had, banging service. 10/10 scran.

Terrible food. Not fresh food. Somosas tastes old and stale, threw them in the bin. The curry was not fresh, grilled diced chicken mixed quickly with old heated up sauce. Nasty. Used to be nice here.

I was over the moon to meet old friends here. The food really supported good times and a hilarious conversation about vari-focal glasses. The staff were amazing even leaving the restaurant to make sure we had sparkling water to wash down the decent nosh.

Food was of a very poor standard. The meat was stale and tough which was just inedible. The rice was sauce was just old and reheated. Such a shame as had high hopes with all the reviews, sadly just proved it is a poor indian restaurant that some how has survived this long.

SO much oil it was inedible, had to throw the whole curry away about half of the tub was purely oil!

we were well annoying but our waiter was well sound 10/10. food was bang on xx

Ate here on recommendation of my brother (I was visiting from London). I hadn’t had a decent Indian in a very long time so was hoping for good things. Moon did not disappoint - the waiters are polite and attentive, the food is incredible and was served in good time. Amply portioned and deliciously flavoured. Extensive menu to choose from and good value for money.
