Very poor value, Spent £25 on the seafood platter no langastines so they supplemented with Scallops which i thought would be ok. when it came out there must have been about 2 Scallops thinly sliced fanned over the plate a small piece of fish and small pile of crab meat and two slices of brown bread.

You can judge from my photo whether you'd be happy paying £25.00 for the "Seafood Platter" at Namara Seafood Cafe. It consisted of three very refrigerated langoustines that tasted of nothing; a small piece of salmon, and some over-runny crab that was overwhelmed by mayonnaise. And worst of all, three triangles of industrial sliced bread already buttered with cheap-tasting margarine. I was so disappointed. Absolutely did not meet expectations for a Hebridean fresh-seafood place. Should be sold as a 'tasting plate' for much less than £25. Very sad experience. Visited 28th June 2024, lunchtime.

The food here is delicious - fresh seafood cooked in tasty and interesting ways. We had the best scallops we have ever tasted! The atmosphere is casual and friendly, the staff are helpful and the servings are generous. They adapted easily and without fuss for a coeliac diner. A perfect Hebridean lunch...

Came here on recommendation, was really busy and no table was available , so was offered takeaway option. Food came promptly (prawn roll and chips), ok but no better than shop bought and not worth the hype

Great seafood from the processing plant next door, simply cooked and served. Despite the abundance of seafood around the islands, it is quite difficult to find much of it on restaurant menus. The small, simple menu here makes up for that, with crab, lobster langoustines and fresh and smoked fish. The be st food we had in Uist.

Anyone can boil a lobster and stick it on a plate with pre-made chips. Why can’t these people put a bit of effort in. For 25 quid this was not gd value for money at all … and the coffee was crap with a capital C. Great location and great concept- delivery … NAY

Don't be mislead by the name 'Bistro' and the pictures about the café and the menu including cakes and seating areas. It is not a bistro any longer and you must not stay inside. We mistakenly rode here (by bike) way before the ferry would depart to have a break in the 'bistro'. However, they only sell snacks and coffee to go. As a consequence, we had to wait 3 hours outdoors (the ferry terminal waiting room offers shelter as alternative). The shop and the lady running it are nice though!

What a great visit! Smooth and flavourful coffee, amazing range of attractive baked goods - I went for the red velvet blondie - and a friendly welcome too. Busy little place, seemed to work for families as well as me with my book in the corner. Thanks so much.

A good cafe for breakfast and lunches serving basic fare ( everything with chips !) and home baking. Open from 8.30 am until last food orders at 3 pm. I had a bacon and black pudding roll which contained a substantial slice of Stornoway black pudding. Waited 20 minutes for it despite the cafe being almost empty. The cafe has an outdoor deck with views over the sea and it is adjacent to the Kilbride campsite. It has free WiFi.

Mac and cheese, whilst nicely served lacked flavour… no salt and pepper on table. Waitress delightful. Partner had the steak, nicely cooked, asked for mustard… none available.

Food was excellent and the Guinness was top notch. Prices were very reasonable and staff were extremely friendly. Would love to return sometime.
