Nam Thai in Bromley

Solidly middle of the road, I've eaten here a few times and for the price range it's decent. The Phad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Curry were all OK. No Thai Iced Tea, but they do have British teabags.

Ordered a delivery with friends. Everything arrived cold, but I'm aware it's not a restaurant's fault as Deliveroo rider made other deliveries before ours. However, Pad thai noodles were average; Singapore noodles tasted bland and had a horrible stench of bad eggs. Spring rolls clearly from frozen, didn't taste of anything. Poor experience, food quality not convincing at all. Won't try again, sorry.

When I came here for the first time, I first felt that the atmosphere and service were both good. The waiter's smile was always on his face. The dishes and desserts were as good as the ones I had. I will definitely come back and introduce it to my friends if I have the chance.

Pad thai was fairly good. We tried green curry which was also pretty good. Papaya salad was ok too. It’s good value for the meal.

I took my friend here for a treat and even bought take away for my husband. We had a really lovely meal, so filling. So flavoursome. Very clean. Lovely kind waitress. We will definitely be returning and great value for money.

The portion sizes of the meals are not very large, and the prices are relatively high. The taste is average, but the greetings from each server are very good.

Went for lunch on a weekend was a bit quiet but the lady who served us was lovely and very attentive. Pad thai and spring rolls were lovely, tom yum soup was a bit sour for my liking but still good. Was priced very well and good portions for the price.

This place is incredible, best Thai food I've found in the area. The food is delicious, with huge variety on the menu and great portion size The staff here are lovely and helpful.

I ordered Thai red curry and fried pho. Both taste good and authentic. The curry does not come with rice, so u hv to order a bowl of rice tgt with it. The rice is well steamed, hot and soft. Love it. The curry portion is huge, it’s enough for 2 person. So next time I’ll order 2 bowls of rice and a curry. In that case I can order some pre meal snack instead :) Love it!

The price is expensive, and the snack food is similar to that of a Chinese restaurant. The green curry is okay, and the pad thai is slightly sweet.

Went on a Friday night the restaurant didn’t appear busy, the food was amazing - service was fabulous. Will definitely recommend and will be returning.

One of the waitresses was so rude and arrogant that she ruined our lunch experience. Our problem started when I ordered a pot of tea and asked for 2 cups (We also ordered a ginger beer and a water). Upon bringing my tea, the waitress rudely ''warned'' me that the pot of tea was for one person, and I would not get a re fill of hot water! She then rudely told us that we had 2 minutes to order our lunch! The way we were spoken to was completely unacceptable and we will not go back there again! The food was great though, and we have no complaints. We had the Herb & spice sea bass, minced chicken salad, Nam Thai fried rice from the a la carte menu, and fish cake and pad Thai from the lunch menu.

Very less portion compared to the price. I have posted a pic of a dish of 11 gbp in zone 5 of London. I dont think its enough for 1 person.

Not impressed with 5 King prawns in my Tom Kha soup! I ordered lunch from the A La Carte menu surely for £7.95 you could have at least given me 6 prawns?

The food we got was… decent at best, poor quality at worst. The portions are ridiculously small, we paid nearly £20 for a small plate of beef. We left still hungry and unsatisfied with the meal we paid for. The staff were sat at the tables with earphones in as though they were customers and were rather unkind to us despite my attempts to be polite and kind. We waited 20 minutes to order, and we ended up going to the till to do it.

I am unsure if the restaurant has changed the chef, but the food was much worse than the last time we were here. Drunken noodles lacked sauce and flavour. Tom Yum was overpowered with fish sauce, and it seems they don’t have the difference between shrimp and chicken one flavour-wise. (Just the shrimp and the chicken added😅) All the fried stuff we ordered was okay. Also, it was a weird, not pleasant smell in the back room. The Service was good as usual. I might pop in a couple of months and change my mind and the rate.

It’s the first time I have been to Nam’s, there is a big choice on the menu, comfortable surroundings, the staff are very friendly and the food for all of us was delicious. Will be going again. Highly recommend.

I came in for lunch and had their lunch menu. Not only is it well priced with a starter and a main for 11.95 the food is absolutely fantastic, the green curry was amazing. Along with the great food the service was absolutely top notch, the ladies working here are very welcoming and hospitable. If you are looking for authentic and tasty Thai food in Bromley then look no further :)

Really nice Thai restaurant, have had take out and dined in and it's always good. The pad Thai is one of the best I've had!

We booked, we arrived, we waited at the door for a minute or so before someone finally noticed us. Maybe I should where a hi vi's jacket next time. No tablecloths or proper napkins, felt more like a cafe with tissues blowing everywhere. When my wife booked she asked not to have a table near the toilets, and obviously, we ended up with a table near the toilets, a dead cert, seeing as we were new to the restaurant. Food was nice though, but it was barely worth the price. I've not seen a rice priced at £11.50 before, seriously, that's the Nam Thai Fried Rice verses the steamed rice, a difference of £8. There was nothing special for Valentines, not even a Happy Valentines from the staff. They weren't very friendly so it was a quick visit and nothing special to return anytime soon.

Been here a couple of times for the lunch menu. Excellent value. There's a range of options and my friends and I have been very happy with our choices. Friendly service. Well recommended. Will definitely try the main menu on an evening too.

Disappointing starter, Tom Yam soup tasted like vinegary dish water. Beef chilli and basil smelled of vomit. Green curry was very bland. Complained, got no apology. Apparently that’s how it is supposed to look like. Only had one mouthful of each dish, had to pay for the whole lot. Normally don’t leave reviews but this was so bad I had to.

We often dine out in Bromley when down to visit family but this was our first time here. I’m not always that keen on Thai as I don’t eat rice or noodles but there was plenty of choice for me here. The sea bass with lime and chilli was particularly good, as was the starter platter. Will definitely be back!

Today I ventured down a road in Bromley that I've never been before. And so glad I did! Had a lovely lunch at Nam Thai, I had the deep fried tofu and vegetarian pad Thai, very happy, delicious! With a pot of green tea I will be returning and with friends next time! Such a lovely beautiful restaurant and takeaway!

Having lived in Thailand for seven years and been married to a Thai national, I know my Thai food. What I ordered was really delicious and the chilli oil was outstanding. Friendly staff, comfortable surroundings. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food! The Thai Panang in particular was delicious. Service was fast and the decor was pleasant. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I don’t normally write reviews but I really can’t thank this restaurant enough. We booked the back space of the restaurant for a birthday party and I cannot describe how above and beyond the team at this restaurant went to make our party a success From helping us put the decor up, to the service. To deliver on every need for a party of 26 people is incredibly difficult and the staff here did it without fault. And the food! I mean wow! Every dish was cooked fresh and it came out piping hot. I really can’t thank this restaurant enough for making our evening so amazing. We look forward to coming back again :)

Takeaway order was Not tasty and small portions considering what they charge I had tofu with cashew nuts and egg fried rice. The egg fried rice had more flavour. Disappointment all round. Tried and wont be going back again.

I hate giving bad reviews, but the food was terrible, so much so that I couldn't finish my pad thai noodles and the fish cakes were like rubber. I didn't complain at the time because I was with someone, but now wish I had done so. Every thing tasted synthetic and even the jasmin tea was a tea bag! Yuck. What a waste of money. Very disappointed. They could learn a lot from other thai restaurants. Look at the menu for Lemongrass in Lewes as a comparison and you will see what I mean, and that includes a drink!

This is our 4th visit and they never fail to impress. We visited on a very busy Saturday evening and the ladies, although clearly rushed off their feet, handled service professionally and a with a smile on their face. The food as always was amazing, such great flavours and presented beautifully. Will definitely be back.

Staff absolutely lovely but food disappointing. Always loved it before now but on this occasion unfortunately our main courses were watery & very salty with little flavour! Take away via Deliveroo Food was expensive and tasteless, chicken salad had no salad in it, Singapore noodles were greasy with no flavour and same for nam rice. Will never order again and won’t visit the restaurant, really disappointed!

On line order delivered on time. Items were well packed to avoid spillage and in a sensible order. Dishes were marked. The food was excellent - the beef in the curry was in very tender chunks, quite different from what you normally get with Chinese cuisine. The vegetables were well (i.e. not too much) cooked. Overall, a great meal.

Excellent meal out on a Friday night! The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The service was also very good, and the staff were very attentive despite it being quite busy (some people were turned away because they didn’t have a booking) - we were even offered a discount for the ‘long wait’ between our starter and main, however we didn’t think it was particularly long and certainly were not bothered by it! Very sweet touch none the less. Thank you for a lovely evening 😊

We are regulars lunch time goers here, a lovely male waiter and food is nice with good price. So we decided to go there for a Saturday night out. Very disappointed with the female owner, who I first time met. We are four people, there table is a bit on small side for four people. So we ask if we can have two tables together? The lovely waiter said yes and helped moved the table. A few minutes later the owner came said, it was Saturday, they could be busy, we couldn’t have two tables. We understood, so we asked if we could have one table but each person to sit on each table side rather than squeezed on two sides. Owner was not friendly and inflexible, said we would take too much rooms, so no! The thing was, there wasn’t any other customers at all at the time we were there and there was no way if four good built people could said with one table comfortably. We left without eating there and won’t be back there ever again

Small portions + Exorbitantly priced regular Thai food. Ordered through Deliveroo for £54 and. were very disappointed. with. the portions and oil. The sea bass pad cha £16.95 was soaked in oil and we had to bin it as it was totally inedible. The stir fry mixed vegetables in. oyster sauce costing £7.50 was a thin layer of veggies at the bottom of the takeaway box which when weighed was approx 130 gm veggies in 1/4 cup. of sauce. Eventually ended up making sandwiches for the family.

This review is purely based on our takeaway experience. Ordering online and collection with a 20% discount, there is an option for Deliveroo to deliver if required. Cash or contactless methods of payment accepted. There is a contrast of ok, acceptable and poor with relation to the dishes we ordered. The coconut and sticky rice were good! Pad Thai Noodles with prawns were good although the £9.95 seemed exuberant. The prawn toast was small, fairly hard and quite oily. Crispy soft-shell crab starter was quite lacklustre. Chilli squid was lovely, tempura prawns were good, stir fried prawn with oyster sauce also good. The service staff were very polite and even included a free bag of spicy prawn crackers. Slightly disappointed overall.

First time i ordere from this thai restaurant and mamaged to ruin my dinner. Forgot to send me a dish than i phoned they said they will send me the dias out. 50 minutes later i call them to find out they won't be sending the food out. Re-heated the food i eat the pad thai...rice was not really nice after microwaving it... won't be ordering from them again soon.i rather stick to my othere restaurant. They didn't sounded that they really wanted to sort anything out just told me to phone deliveroo for the reffund 😅 I would expected the dish and at least something a cracker or sprig roll but nothing. Out of 4 dishes to miss one !

We ordered a big quantity food for my wife's 40th birthday and a variety too. They all tasted the same. Its almost like the chef used same sauce and probably modified a little bit to make it different. Paid over £80 for all the dishes we ordered - expected a bit of authenticity in it but disappointed for the value we paid. Won't be using them again - if I fancy a thai, I'd probably use youtube and cook it myself.

I ordered delivery and was so disappointed in the portion! Fried softshell crab was only tiny 2 piece and £8.5. The most expensive meal I ever had recently... it's not the acceptable level. Also all other main food was very small except rice. It's totally overpriced. I won't order again!!!

Extremely poor quality food The calamari was extremely greasy and tasteless as was the soft crab The green curry was extremely sweet and lacked the authentic flavour, the broccoli was drowning in liquid and again lacked flavour. Would never come back again.

We've been looking for a decent local Thai and at last we have found Nam Thai. We have had two take-aways since lockdown and they've both been absolutely delicious. My fiance loves spice and said the tom yum soup had a real kick to it. I would highly recommend the chicken penang, it was creamy and delicious. 5/5

Pad Thai Noodles and spring roles. Noodles were tasteless and I could have done a better job myself. No spices to taste or flavour. My husband had the Thai Green curry he thought it ok 7/10. Must be the noodles. Not worth nearly£9.00 definitely not!...

Awful service and the food we had was not much better. We waited an hour for starters having been told the waitress had forgotten to put our order through. The batter on the veggie tempura was more like the beer batter you get on fish and chips and was heavy / stodgy. The spring rolls were mini but the nicest part of the meal. Visited first time on a busy Monday lunch-time as they are taking part in the “eat out to help out” scheme. Tables were well spaced out and waitresses were wearing masks. It’s more of a casual cafe setting and food was simply presented but really delicious. Unlike the previous review, my prawn pad see iew was flavoured and seasoned perfectly and reminded me of my trips to Thailand. The set lunch menu is a steal, starter and main for £9.99, so we’ll definitely be back. Thank you for an enjoyable, delicious lunch!
