First time here, this is going to be my go to spot in Brighton, big thank you to the staff. You will be seeing me soon for sure!!

Great drinks in a nice setting. No food served but I recommend. Quick and impeccable service.

Just received a Khoresht-e-Gheymeh via Uber Eats. I got a plastic container full of rice and another container with a single meatball and a ball of fat. It was all covered with a notable Persian delicacy, fries, thrown on top. It was foul tasting and inedible. Absolutely disgusting. Uber refused to refund and the restaurant didn't answer the phone. I've had the misfortune of having to live in Brighton for a few months. The food is largely foul. The place is awash with more fast food restaurants than I've ever seen in what is pretty much a miserable seaside town and this restaurant seems to be typical of most, the food is gross. There are literally 2 or 3 places worth eating out at... This place should be avoided. I note it has some positive reviews, but clearly they are by locals who think they're onto a good thing. Miserable restaurant, foul food... With several pubs on every block in Brighton, the people that live here drink in excess daily and eat any old rubbish when they've had burgers, pizzas and fish and chips forever... Can't wait to get back to London and the Persian / Arab restaurants on the Edgware Rd and throughout. I'll be reporting them to the council...

I can't actually believe this cost me £20. "Freshly baked bread" burnt to a crisp for £1.50 when you can buy 5 of these things fresh from Taj for 70p. A tub of standard houmous and some tinned vine leaves. Christ alive. I actually can't believe this mess. £20?!

It is currently closed for refurbishment. I went last night and the restaurant downstairs said it was closed. Surprised no one mentioned on here.

Don’t search for other restaurant if you like Persian food . The food was amazing and tasty, the portion it’s more than enough . The price really good and affordable. Highly recommended

Service was poor, only good thing was the music on new years eve! Waited for more than 45 minutes before we left and during that time no one served us or even gave us a menu, spoke to a guy there said someone will get us drinks and not one person came to us! There was one lady who was the nicest person there and made sure we got to our seats, but everyone else kept ignoring us. I understand it was a very busy night but to be waiting that long is crazy, we were really just trying to dry off at this point I wouldn't usually wait that long. I won't be going back

We had a booking last night for NYE. A lovely girl made sure we got to our seats. She was the only person who acknowledged us and with a smile! Our 'table' which was more like a waiting area was not suitable to have drinks and shisha on, while facing other people on other tables, instead of your own company. I understand it was a busy night but it's not always about making money, quality over quantity. We waited over an hour for service and on asking multiple times for a menu/ drinks, were completely ignored. We only stayed this long to try and get dry. The people who work here need an advanced course in customer service. Actually serve customers, rather than ignore them! Ignorant and rude, only serving their own. This isn't the first time I've experienced abysmal customer service here and I won't be coming back. The only good part of the night was the DJ and his incredible music taste. Made the experience more bearable.

The food was good - nothing really to complain about. However, koobideh was a little dryer than I’d normally have it - this is just personal preference, but it was tasty regardless. Fun mix of Lebanese, Persian and Turkish food. Great portions for the price. Friendly, attentive and patient staff.

Fast service but meat kebabs were wet and soggy like the last time we came. Person who served us had an attitude.

The hospitality was not warm, the food was just a little warm! Some food was OK, the rest was not good enough for the price and ambience.

We haven’t tried food in this restaurant, however we had a Shiah and cocktails. Unfortunately the atmosphere of the local wasn’t good at all. Dirty tables, sofas with burn marks etc. Wouldn’t return to that place…

It saddens me to write this but this was one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. The food was AWFUL, the customer service was abysmal, I have no idea how on earth they're so highly rated on Deliveroo, just trust me when I say it's probably illegitimate reviews because I've eaten in other Iranian restaurants such as Shandiz and their food was magical. I'm half convinced that they just grabbed the leftover food from other plates and chucked it into a container and sent it off to my house, especially considering since the order arrived in around 10minutes and I live 5 minutes away from them. I'm still wishing this is a nightmare that I'm about to wake up from. I ordered Koobideh too and the guy who answered the phone called Shayan bare face lied to me pretending he had called me and warned me that they were changing it to chicken. I had Iranian friends in the room the whole time who were mind blown at what they had just witnessed, an employee lying to a customer who they thought was eating Iranian food for the first time in his life and pretending they did nothing wrong. This horrible establishment is not a representation of the lovely people of Iran and their incredible food, so give them a skip, there’s plenty of amazing Iranian restaurants in brighton.

Recently had a meal with a group of friends at nakhl, the food was amazing!! We had loads of vegi starters between us and a few mixed grills. The bread was freshly made and tasty too. Couldn’t be better.

The Food & service was absolutely amazing I will be going to the restaurant again next time I’m in Brighton! I highly recommend it! So many delicious choices !

I go daily to Marrakech for shisha, but unfortunately for me I went to this place today.. I changed my place 3 times because a new customer came!! The waiter also dropped coals on my clothes and burned them without apologizing! Most of the visitors to the place are rude people and their voices are annoying and teenagers Also the person who works at the cashier speaks a language other than English and I think he uses rude words They ruined my whole day, unfortunately!

Food was okay, nothing special. Service was horrendous, sat in for an hour without drinks. Part of order was forgotten and only brought upstairs after we had finished our mains.

Fantastic food! 100% up there with the best in Brighton. Compliments to the chefs and team. They seem to have had a change of ownership as the old reviews weren’t good. Professional, quick, large portions and fresh charcoal grilled meats. You need to try them and you’re welcome in advance!

The boss has been change and now everything is amazing, specially the food is good and the staff is very kind they try to keep the costumers happy.

Best food and shisha in the town.

Ordered food which was over an hour late and when eventually order arrived (no warning that it will be late) it was wrong. Complained to chef and he blatantly said it was not an hour late and the food he brought was correct and I was wrong. Refused to take the wrong order back and he complained that I have an attitude and that I could have spoken to him separately when customers are not listening when he told me that I was lying about the food and order time in front of everyone. Although he apologised he had a passive aggressive attitude and refused to discount the food. Would not recommend.

The old guy in the counter is racist, rude, homophobic and bloody fundamentalist as well as religious freak... I’m from Brighton and feeling disgusted having that sort of person around us :( if you are not Arab or a girl forget about customer service.

Awful food, even worse customer service, we got our starter after the food and it was cold and tasted really bad, some of the kebabs weren’t cooked at all. Would never ever eat here again.

Food is great! Waitress is extremely moody! And shisha is the worst shisha I have ever tasted and the place is such a dump upstairs it's always wet and damp no cushions to sit on no cards, ran out of green tea wouldn't go back there again unless with was for food (maybe)

Good food but can improve the service. I find most of these Turkish and Mediterranean food places have poor quality service, the staff and owners need proper customer service training. Smile its not that hard.

I went there with my family after reading a few positive reviews we ordered a grill starter chicken wings 14 to be precise 2x7 of the menu found the waitress to be unattentive no smiles not really interested waited quite a while for the starter we were sat next to the, chef grill and prep area so I assumed he would see us and start our food couldn't see our chicken wings on the grill he was busy preparing takeaway orders suddenly our starter arrived from the back area/entrance chicken wings fried and hard now I've been to quite a few Turkish Lebanese restaurants and off the grill menu had grilled fresh chicken wings not in a batterered coating and fried I can only assume they came from the chicken takeaway a few doors down round the back entrance as the chef certainly did not cook them the waitress must have looked at the expressions on our faces as cheap fried wings were not on the menu and asked if everything was OK we were in Brighton for a couple of days and I can only assume she took us as not locals but tourists and thought they could pass this off not acceptable well im afraid I've worked in a few restaurants my self and you can't fool all your customers unfortunately we'd ordered our mains which were dry and tasteless meat and chicken mains which were cooked on the grill this time there was so much rice on there in comparison to the meat I don't understand how after reading the reviews and going there it could be so bad and finally I asked for the bill and noticed they put a 10% service charge on there now correct me if I'm wrong but don't you pay for good service and food with a tip which I would do if the service was good and the food of a good standard if you look around the place is quite cosy but the staff and food let them down only one chef who can't cope on his own and inevitably they start to cut corners but please remember Al Nakhl customers are not stupid they notice good quality and good service and in this age of reviews you can't get away with it serve all customers with a smile and give them good quality fresh food I visited on the 31/8/2016 I advise you don't visit the two stars I gave were for the decor !!!

Great Arabic and Persian food. The waitresses were good looking but they aren't working hard.. When I asked them about something in the menu they didn't know what I'm talking about!!

Food was amazing as always, tender meat and huge portions for the price. Replaced wrong orders in record time and staff were lovely throughout.

If you are looking for a good Shisha bar then look for Levant Shisha Lounge cuz this place is by far the worst place ever!!!

Bad shisha tasted funny, hasn't been cleaned for a long time! Staff is very rude, told me that it is his job to know what a shisha tastes like and tried to convince me that my shisha was a good one.

staff was helpful and welcoming however ambience wasn't really great reason being sheesha cafe on top, few young lads were talking so loud in their native language and the kitchen area seating was awful full of bad smell. we had to change the table. overall food quality is not 5 out of 5 howeber price tag was sky high. management need sort this out otherwise competetion is much higher on the same street

The food is delicious. The staff is helpful and attentive. A wide selection of vegetarian food. Mainly provides Iranian foods which are beautifully presented and delicious. The restaurant seating area also provides authentic and historical features of the Iranian culture with private seating on request, I.e for meetings or celebrations. Takeaway is also available. The toilets are kept clean and fully stocked. The establishment also offers an outside area upstairs with a bar, a fossball table and television offering music or current sports activities. The seating upstairs offers heating and options for cushions. Food can also be delivered upstairs within the designated outdoor seating on request for those who may prefer to smoke and eat or watch the sports channel. The outdoor seating is very popular in the evening with local and university crowds. The bar offers a wide selection of alcoholic drinks and deals. The outdoor seating upstairs are mainly for those who have visited to smoke Shisha. They offer a wide range of flavours from the traditional orange, mint, watermelon, grape; to Blue mist, coconut water, pineapple tops and many more to appease customers of different tastes.

Went for an evening meal for 4 and thought it would be a sure bet after previous Turkish mezze experiences in central London, but boy were we wrong. The manager was friendly upon greeting us but that's where it ended. No authentic Turkish bread?? the chili sauce was just dumped on my table in a squeezy hot dog bottle.(with the lid loose). The mixed grill special for 2 looked good on the menu but the quality of meat and rice was poor. Especially for £27.00. The waitress was new so not to be to harsh on her but she struggled. Her colleague was in another world (Narnia) we guessed. We asked her to have some of our meal in a takeaway box only to find out 10 mins later they had actually thrown it away. They did apologise but it was a very simple request. The staff were hanging around like they had really bad headaches or something. Well that was the expression on their faces anyway. I hope they do read this and change their ways as we were very reluctant to pay the £70.00 at the end of the meal. Oh and the seats were very uncomfortable my wife almost had a hernia trying digest and get comfy. Other than that Harry Ramsden's round the corner was Amazing so your better of going there for a £70.00 meal for 4.

hi Ashton as you said, you never had Persian food before so you can not recommend some thing you don't now anything about it,the food you had called Persian food not like cheap fast food you have every day as your meal,so what i recommend you don't try to eat good foods again, because you not qualified to understand what is the different of good foods and cheap foods usually eat,thanks
