Haven't visited since it was a 2for1 pub. Popped in on the off chance we would get a table as we were nearby. I was pleased that there was a carvery that I didn't know the pub did. The choice on the carvery and the quality of the cooking was amazing. The Yorkshire puddings were the size of my head! Really friendly staff who said you can go back and help yourself to the carvery veg as much as you want. Really good value for money - delicious carvery and I will definitely visit again :)

Very polite staff, very understanding with special needed children, food has beeen the best it has ever been after new ownership. These guys have regular visits from us. If there is an issue they always sort it for you.

Not very nice at all, chips greasy the beer battered onion rings was burned and squashed together. My partners chicken was enimic. I did complain and asked why the chef was sending out these meals and all that was said was sorry your not happy...and that was that !! I wouldn't come back here again.

We both decided to have the curry special that was on offer and it was delicious. The portion was a great size, served along with nan bread, poppadom and mango chutney it was delicious and we will definitely be having this again. The staff were friendly and the pub itself, even though we went early, had a good feel to it and was clean. Would highly recommend a visit

Another great meal out with the family. Everyone had something different, 1 beef carvery, 1 vegetarian cauli cheese tart carvery, 1 sharers nachos, 1 gammon egg and chips, 1 vegan chilli, 1 big kid's gammon, egg and chips and 1 small kid's tomato pasta. Everyone enjoyed every bite and were all stuffed to the ginnels!

We love the place usually but food was stone cold, plates stone cold, poor quality compared to normal. Very small mushrooms 3, 2 onion rings, half a small tomato and steak was rare but poorly cooked and cold. Should be served on a hot plate and steak pie was cold! Small amount of peas. Small jacket pot!! We got 30% off but that should not reflect in the quality of food served. So we were disappointed and wondered WHO had cooked the food as it was quiet in there, just one man serving doing everything until another man appeared later!!

Lovelly place, food very good and generous portions, quick service and pleasant staff, would recommend a visit.

Good Sunday, carvery, but disappointed with the puddings waited 20 minutes and had to ask if they had been forgotten. Soft drinks are very expensive.

Decent enough place. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was nice. It's a brewery owned chain kind of pub so not what you'd call "home cooked" food but there was nothing wrong with it! Plenty of outdoor seating and good sized dining areas. Also has a dog friendly section.

My husband , sister and I came for a pub lunch today . I can honestly say the pub itself is warm, welcoming and very clean . The staff were very friendly , helpful and patient ( we are almost 80 and technophobes). The menu is extensive and the food was beautiful and plentiful. Well worth the journey from Willerby . We will definitely come again and recommend to family, friends and neighbours . Thankyou to all the staff . Lorraine , Fraser and Yvonne

The first time we’ve visited since the new people have taken over and it definitely won’t be the last, we were really impressed how much it has improved. The food and service was great. The pub is great for families

Service was slow and poor, we were shown to our table by a young girl, who then wasn’t sure which table was ours and told us to wait whilst she checked, we stood in the middle of the restaurant for 5 or more minutes before another member of staff asked if we were ok? Eventually seated. We were advised 45 minutes for food which was fine, it was longer then that for our starters to arrive, mains we had to chase twice and finally arrived about 830. We arrived at 630 and had orders by 645 despite being unable to use the app as there was apparently a glitch? Not a great experience overall although the food we eventually got was ok!

Excellent carvery today. All the staff go above and beyond to make your meal the best. Very helpful with my client who has dementia, especially chef who even helped me carry food to the table. My client loves all the staff as they are so friendly which is a bonus.

Ok food,but greeted with "It's a half hour wait for food" doesn't fill you with joy. Only maybe 15 20 people in so don't know how they would cope if it was busy. Alright if your passing and want a basic meal but wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Went to order food and the staff behind the bar were serving a customer in front. They asked for an orange and lemonade and the girl behind the bar said she did not know how to make that so the customer had to tell her what to do. They then messed this customers order up and the manager had to come and sort it out while the girl served us. There was no steak available (my husbands choice). This was a Friday night at 6.15pm and we would have expected something like this to be available. The girl behind the bar then messed our order up and the manager had to sort this. After 30 mins of waiting for our food we asked where it was and was told there was a 45 minute wait for food and we should have been told this when we ordered (had we known there was a 45 min wait we would have gone elsewhere). They then put a notice up in the entrance saying they were not taking anymore customers in. The table next to us (who had just walked in) asked why this was the case and were told it was because there was a 45 minute wait so they weren't accepting anymore orders. The section of the pub that we were in was almost empty. I would hate to see how they cope when it is busy! The table next to us decided to stay anyway and when the man came back with a lager and black for one of his party, she took one sip and said, there isn't hardly any lager in this. It seems the girl who didn't know how to make the orange and lemonade, also didn't know how to make the lager and black. The lady who the drink was for, took it back and got just a straight lager. The only positive thing I can say, was that I enjoyed the meal. However, my husband didn't and he was not very well the next day. I visited this pub about 2 years ago with a works 'do' and none of us were impressed then and have never been back for a works 'do' since. As we had received a voucher for 30% off, I thought I would give it another chance but I won't be going back again or recommending it to anyone. We also found it amazing that vouchers were being posted through doors to encourage business and the pub couldn't cope with the customers it had (which weren't that many).

I have been there several times and it's always a nice meal and nice quick service. The only criticism is when paying by card it asks what percentage of tip you want to give. The workers shouldn't need to rely on tips. They should be given a decent wage instead.

Lovely meal and fast service delivering it to the table. On the flip side we stayed for another drink after the meal as we were catching up and no one ever removed our plates the whole time - there were flies everywhere (country location and food so not an issue) so we moved the dirty plates to another empty table and they were still there when we walked out over an hour later and there was only another table or two in.

Called by chance whilst staying in the area & looking for somewhere good to eat, based on high reviews left by others. Arrived without any booking. No issue & seated. Told that we would have a 50 min wait for food. (No problem for us) and we would rather be told this instead of having to wait & not knowing. However, food arrived within 20 mins at most. The food was great. Mixed grill for me. My wife had Donner kebab & and my son had gammon. All perfectly cooked & tasty with good portions. Pleasant staff also. Will be back when next visiting the area.

Decent main, steak cooked well (surf n turf advertised as whole tail whitby scampi, it wasnt it was the cheap crap you can get from any discount food shop)but massively let down with the dessert. Apple crumble and custard, getting hotter as I ate it which suggests a little too long in the microwave. Hardly any custard, after burning my mouth for the second time couldn't eat it. Strangely, the photo I can't add was taken through the website and I can't find it in any of my albums. Strange, well maybe....

Saturday lunchtime... we arrived soon after 12 (mum likes to eat early) and found something we fancied on the menu. Staff were all friendly and quick to serve. All no fuss, and as long a wait for food as you would expect with fresh food. Cleaned our plates, the wine was decent and R Whites on tap for the driver, who was happy. Plenty of free parking and only 5 minutes drive from the overcrowded pubs of Beverley.. would recommend!

Poor customer service Roisin who had a terrible attitude whilst being asked the simplest of questions. Made to feel unwelcome. Very unprofessional. Make sure you check your receipt here. Update - there was no verbal altercation at all... She was perfectly fine and laughing when I left. Seems the owner likes to lie to make an honest review seem nasty.... That's exactly what this is. An honest review.

Haven’t been for a few years but wow the food has improved hugely! Great value and great food. Staff couldn’t have been nicer and the atmosphere was really nice, could see all of the staff were happy and well looked after. Will definitely be going again!

Lovely environment. Wide choice of food on menu. Good food and large portions. However would be nice if biscuits and cheese is available as sometimes diners may not want a sweet /dessert. Would definitely return for a meal provided I am in the area. Everyone in the party /group enjoyed the food. However would be helpful if staff were more confident in explaining different meal deals that are available (e.g. if children eating for £1.00 works out to be cheaper than other deals that are available) Tables are well spaced out so you can carry out a conversation with your party and you are not listening to other conversations.

We stopped here on our way to Scarborough food was well cooked and presented. However I want to mention the outstanding service we received from Roisin and Jenny they are professional friendly and polite and a huge asset to the pub they deserve a pay rise!!😁

Brilliant food and great service, came back the next day for dinner

Visited Friday for early dinner so was quiet. Had sirloin steak and steak and ale pie, both fantastic. The pie was amazing with pure soft meat and the chip crispy but soft inside. Staff very nice and friendly. First visit but will be back again.

An absolute bloody brilliant visit again, came along for Sunday lunch, greeted by Jennifer, who remembered our dogs Cassie and Archie are out last visit :) Starters were fresh hot and tasty, carvery’s were very nice, meat cooked to perfection, veg was very tasty and the chef was pleasant and happy 😀 We would certainly recommend The Nags Head to anyone, infact the best Marstons pub we’ve been in so far. The place is clean, fresh and welcoming. All team were so friendly, service was good and the atmosphere was is nice, best place to go if have dogs and children You have a fantastic team, please pass on our comments.

Friendly and welcoming. Our two puppies were given water and biscuits, and then settled under our table. Food order was delivered fast and our meals were tasty and hot. Jennifer (we assume was the manager on duty) was lovely, and the young blonde waitress was smiling and attentive. Enjoyed our visit very much. Recommend the steaks, and lasagne. Salad items fresh and crisp too.

Been going to hornsea for last 10 years and passed the nags head every time and say to the wife we will go for there one day. Well today we did.why dint we go the 1st time I said it.had A carvery nice big Yoshi pudding. How do the 3 meats which was beautiful veg just right and The staff was brilliant. We are hoping to get on high farm Caravan park for next season so we will Definitely be returning. Thank you nags head..

Great atmosphere, lovely food and friendly staff. Came on a Sunday and the 5 of us got carveries, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Kid friendly and they even have a small play park for the kids round the back. Reasonably priced food and drink! p.s the Yorkshire Puds are huge and to die for! Would come again!

My family and I visited on a Friday and had three lovely main meals, and three deserts. The steak was a great size and was cooked to our preferences. The staff were great and we will definitely be back again! The atmosphere was great and we sat next to the big window looking out onto the road! Thank you and see you soon!!

Lovely lunch with daughter and grandchildren. Good deal with children eat for a pound being in school holidays. Food was good for lunch time if it was evening would have liked some veg or coleslaw or more salad etc. Staff were very friendly think we had Beth she was lovely. Small area for children to play and colouring papers and crayons to keep the children happy.

Food was ideal for a quick lunch, service was great, bar lady was lovely. It was mid afternoon on a wednesday so not much atmosphere but fine for us and 3 children coming in and out all the time.

Stopped on way to Bridlington as little boy was hungry. Ordered 2 cowboy burgers and kids sausage and mash. After partner pored gravy on sausage and mash there was a bit of gravy in the pot. My partner dipped a chip in the gravy and when took chip out there was an hair on the end of the chip. I called foe the guy behind the bar and ask him to take it away as chip had a hair on from the gravy. He looked ate with descust and took the plate. Then returned and ask where the hair was , I told.him on the chip with gravy. He went back and asked for another meal to be made. And only apologised after he said the meal won't be long. After 10 mins we had all finished and fresh meal had not arrived so we left and ask for refund. The pub refunded 1meal and apologised again. Think this place need to start with manners and service with a smile. And train staff. I won't be returning again.

The 'Cluck and Moo' burger was superb and the chips were cooked to perfection. Based on this meal, highly recommended.

Been regulars coming here for quite some time. Booked for my wife's birthday. At time of booking it I told them it was her birthday. Arrived and brought a cake and asked them to plate it up and bring it after the mains. Well we arrived... Sat down... nobody came to take drinks orders... OK... ordered all 8 at the bar.... Sat waiting again... looks like we're ordering all 8 peoples food at the bar too... Is this normal on a reserved table? Carvery was pretty damn good! Steak.... meh. Quite chewy. We all sat waiting after eating mains... Nobody cleared the table... Nobody brought the cake out. Had to go ask the staff member about serving the birthday cake... Well... few minutes later he comes out basically puts the uncut cake on the table and walks off! Hahaha! We're sat there surrounded by dirty plates and a cake that we're supposed to just palm out with our hands!? Hahaha! OK. Maybe expected too much?

Haven't been for a long time,used to be regulars but went downhill, had the best meal in here today definitely coming back, lovely staff, great atmosphere. Maybe get live music on a Saturday night and quizzes on, especially with High Farm holiday park next door, it's definitely needed...spot on👍

When we came as a group last time the food was really overcooked and the staff were not that welcoming, but with the food we had last night was outstanding and delicious and the fact the staff were really warm, friendly and welcoming made our experience far better than the last time we came. Great carvery! Meat was tender and juicy, yorkie puds were massive and the veg was just so tasty! The carvery bar was kept topped up. The staff were attentive and polite. The cost for the 2 of us to have a meal was good too. We'll definetely be coming back.

I took my mum out for dinner last Thursday and we ordered a sirloin steak since there was a steak and drink offer on.When the meals came the portion size was tiny so then when I went to pay the gentleman behind the till told me that the sirloin steaks are not actually part of the deal. Well why not tell me that when i ordered. Good job my partner was not with us as that would definately not fill him up and would still be hungry.
