Nags Head in East Riding of Yorkshire

What a fantastic place. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Awesome food and drinks. I Come hear every week. One of the best pubs around. The staff are absolutely awesome, the food fantastic and such a lovely setting and atmosphere. Look for Jennie and Jess, they are the heart and soul of the place and the reason for my many MANY visits x

Only us in bar, we had the dog with us. Staff very polite and chatty. Food was hot and tasty.

Well set out pub I only went for a drink but the food smelled and looked very nice prices were reasonable. Sat in beer garden which was very clean .

Can not comment much on food as only called in for a drink but seeing what others had ordered it smelled and looked very nice ,really well run pub loverly located with a great beer garden with plenty of parking . UTB from the madhouse

Had small family gathering for a special occasion. Food was tasty and brought to the table while still hot. All the staff very friendly and professional.

We went just on the of chance of getting some dinner as not booked because we were passing and tell you what a brilliant Sunday roast we both had I had a large as I have a good appetite better half had standard was well impressed with the size of the meal and the lovely tasty food and six slices of beef with was cooked to perfection. Thank you nags head we will definitely be back . 10 0ut of 10..

Excellent food as always and fabulous Easter decorations. Playground accessible but ready for brush up for summer as few of the swings all broken but sure will be ready for the warm weather.

It was Monday daytime there was a wake on but they suggested we could use the conservatory if we wished this we did it was comfortable quick service the food was great will be going back to try something else on the menu

Once every few weeks we have a burger which is lovely! Nice onion rings and chips! Yummie! We tried diverent dishes aswell. All scrummie. Don't forget the deserts! Nice place where we take our family from Holland allways as a first stop . Beer is awesome.

Food was OK but only OK, nothing special

If ever you are in the Hull area and fancy visiting what feels like a traditional country pub only a short drive from Hull centre and you want a great range of drinks and fantastic food, you have to go to the Nags Head. It was lovely, staff were fantastic, very helpful and attentive. Totally relaxing night I had and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We happened on the Nags Head on our way up the coast from Hull, and took the opportunity to stop for lunch. A very pleasant pub that was evidently popular with locals, it had a good range of dishes on offer. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and we were made to feel very much at home. This is the sort of pub that should be at the heart of every community.

Didn't have food but it looked great

The Naga head, nice little pub, clean and old in style, staff are nice and service was on point, food and beer was reasonably priced, parking is a little difficult for anyone with anything bigger than a car, and the food is alright, little bit let down with the pie, and the one slice of bread with scampi, but aside from that the place isn't bad

Another excellent late lunch/tea. Chicken kebab to die for(according to my wife) steak pie the same with great chunks of meat an light, flakey pastry top. Never had a bad meal here yet. Quality of food is superb - all staff polite and friendly

Lovely little country pub, highly recommend

The Nags Head is a popular cosy pub for dining, it has a good reputation for its meals. There is a good choice of beers and lagers including two cask conditioned real ale. The real ale is not as cheap as another nearby pub but was in excellent condition. Friendly staff, nice pub garden, car park, worth calling in.

The actual pub was okay however, this has always been a family pub yet someone called Mike who I think is the owner is a big man intimidating and threatening young children yet doesn't have the cahonas to come and talk to the parents about anything he's not happy with. When confronted, he was rude and ignorant. Another family in the village had a similar experience and haven't been back. Don't take your family to this "family pub" as there's obviously an issue with children in the "family pub"!

Very nice local pub good food friendly staff well worth a visit

Visited Thurs afternoon for lunch. Very quiet at visit. Food good, decent price , not expensive. Service very good. Staff very pleasant & helpful.

Visited for first time today had ribs wife had scampi. Enjoyed the meal and bar staff was really helpful. Will put it on my list to visit again.

Super place to visit for a couple beers with friends or take the family for a nice relaxing lunch. Good choice of drinks & food for all the family. Plenty of outside seating & plenty of parking space. Food was excellent & reasonably priced.

Prices are getting silly. £4.40 for a pint of carling. The owners are great, the brewery is a joke.

Friendly staff, decent hot food, comfortable surroundings. I had a steak pie which was really delicious with chips and peas. Puddings were out of a packet but lots of custard and they didn't mind us sharing! Pleasant seating outdoors, indoors or in the conservatory. A good place to settle down and have a nice long dinner and a chat

I stumbled upon this pub and there's Something quite amazing about it, with it not being a chain with a homemade menu and fantastic beer. Also I not a massive outdoor area with a park, hands down I would 100% recommend this pub even if I only visited for 2 top class pints of Guinness

This place is an amazing british pub experience. The food waa excellent and the service outstanding. Oh got to mention the real ale, we live in Tenerife and I so wish I was n't driving. Thanks guys you put Britain back on the map for us. Just one thing you need to get some business cards ;-)

Attended a family event on a Friday afternoon at the Nags Head. Nice pub with a friendly atmosphere and lovely staff. The buffet served was delicious, lots of choice and plenty of it.

Darts night ,and busy atmosphere for a Monday

Had a meal on Saturday night. The food was basic pub grub, but cooked very well and very filling. Also great value for money. Will be back again

Popped in for a valentines meal and drink. Food was spot on, service great. Reasonably priced. Well recommended, will be going more often.

A very friendly welcoming pub. Excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices. My wife and I both had ribeye steaks on our last visit and they were delicious .We followed this up with a hot cherry sundae which was superb. We have booked to go back on my birthday.

Husband heard the pies were delicious here, he thought he'd try them out, but it's obvious his friends were talking about somewhere else, chewy meat, full of fat with a piece of puff pastry thrown on top, no effort was put into making these at all, a two year old could have made them better. I had Sunday lunch, with roast beef, which wasn't fresh, sandwich beef warmed up, uncooked frozen carrots, hard garden peas, frozen roasties, this was advertised as delicious Sunday roast with three beautiful vegetables, nothing like it, absolutely disgusting, needless to say I didn't eat it. I wish Humber Tavern in Paull had been opened. At least I know not to eat in Preston again.

We recently visited the Nags Head for lunch. My husband chose Fish and Chips and I chose Ham and Chips. On the menu it clearly stated that the Ham and Chips came with two eggs and no mention of pineapple. When the meals were brought to the table I asked the waitress if mine should have eggs and she said 'no' and said it does state on the menu that they were extra !! She did offer to do me an egg at a cost but I declined. Before we left the establishment I checked the menu and it definitely said the ham and chips came with two eggs and there was no mention of an extra charge for eggs (the meal cost £9 50 so it wasn't particularly cheap). I have emailed the pub to point out the error on the menu but to date have had no reply. Nice food but we should have received the full meals as described on the menu.

Really nice clean local, had a drink in there, it was relaxing and pleasant. Recommended.

Went for Sunday Lunch, very disappointing frozen Yorkshire puddings and veg, Beef ok but overall not very expiring

Lovely friendly pub, superb pub food, really quick and tonnes of gravy. Marion's Steak pie was gorgeous and the chicken was battered chicken breast in a floury bap. Will come again!

Pleasant dog friendly village pub that has a good menu, although we haven't eaten here yet and a large children's play area.

Ordered a chicken curry at the cost of £10.50 it tasted just like a box meal from farm foods.......just updating my review from yesterday we were a party of 8 people and today 4 of us have had sickness and diareah....2people had burgers 1 had steak pie and the other had kebab.....absolutely terrible and the food isn't cheap!!!! Never eat there again!!!!

Had dinner yesterday (2/8/22).Having been many times before and always had good food and service, yesterday (which was a birthday celebration) was very disappointing. Told abruptly where to sit (bar staff however was very polite as he always is) food was poor quality and not up to normal standard. Unlikely to visit again.

Its not home cooked food its absolutely shocking took the misses there today and I must say worst £35 I've ever spent. This is a fact!

Not home cooked food at all not even the chips. ordered the chicken kebabs they where taste less and looked like the 3 for £5 from party section in Iceland not happy with it at all the chicken had a slimy texture to it not alot to choose on the menu such a shame as I've been told it was a lovely place for food before

Lovely food very friendly well worth a visit

My wife & I visited for Sunday Lunch and both very much enjoyed absolutely superb `home cooked` Sunday Carvery, with ample meat, excellent vegetables, Yorks Puds, & gravy.....all at what seemed to be pre-Covid prices! [Tiny complaint...a proper gin & tonic demands REAL TONIC, not low-sugar nonsense]

Kids Play Area was an instant hit with our little one, it hasn’t changed since I was a kid! Staff really friendly and helpful, made our daughter feel very welcome. Food was good, honest pub grub. Meat pie was superb! Will definitely return this summer to make use of the playground and nice setting.

Nice friendly pub, 6 of us went to eat, nice Sunday lunch, and the apple n BlackBerry crumble is so tasty, comes in a big dish, yummy, will go back again.

Came here for a birthday party. Good atmosphere, nicely decorated and tables and chairs spaced and clean. Added bonus a live local band providing entertainment before karaoke later. Catered bacon rolls and burgers hit the spot! Friendly staff and patrons. Nice place for a family party and catch up.

Nice food, could have done with larger portions though. Nice staff and play area, nice that it wasn't necessary to go across a car park to access.

They are many pubs and restaurants out there sadly serving mums gone to Iceland Fabre at inflated prices.How refreshing to call at the Nags head all food fresh Services and pricing excellent in fact I might move house to visit more often well done to the Staff/ team Brilliant comprehensive menu list realistic pricing very much appreciated

Worst 'sunday lunch' ever! Frozen roast potatoes- fried, frozen cabbage and Yorkshire pudding, no idea what happened to the white roast beef! Only good thing was that the carrots were fresh - if overcooked but meal was hot. No thank you!

Fab pub and food best larger I've tasted

We booked a table for 4 at 1pm today Sunday 5 September food was very nice and staff were nice and pleasant often asking if everything was ok

Food was very average, seafood sharing platter was basically all reformed fish or prawns and not nice. Only thing I would recommend would be the steak pie. Chips were not home made, but fish was nice from the fish and chips. Staff were really nice, but I rate a place on if I would go back, and sadly I wouldn't
