My Plaice in Harlow

Have eaten fish and chips from My Plaice for a few years and recommended them to friends and family. However the last few times we and others have been disappointed with the chips. They are not being cooked well and are limp and soggy. The potatoes could be the reason but the chips look very pale.

Skate over cooked and dry cod under cooked and chips not cooked slightly raw and cold sausage battered chewy and very cold

We used to order here all the time but after seeing a member of staff come from the back and help himself some chips without washing his hands but even if he did is still wrong especially given the recent hygiene rating now 2

Don’t know what’s happened to this place but it has gone from the best fish and chips in Harlow to bang average, the fish would of been ok but the batter was greasy and tasted of old oil chips was soggy and sausage in batter tasted like a cheap imitation of a sausage, such a shame

What has happened. This was the best chippy in Harlow. The food tonight went in the bin. Their prices have shot up as well. Sad.

So disappointed will definitely never order from them again, food cold and meat hard, don't know what has happened used to be nice before they had to shut because of a fire. Had to microwave it totally ruined, would have phoned but took ages to be delivered.

Everything cooked once you have ordered, but still very quick service.. Fish always crisp and golden, cooked to perfection. Chips always hot, generous size portions and great value for money. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, always cheerful, even under pressure when a big order arrives. I will not go anywhere else now, and I think I have probably been to every one in Harlow! Keep up the good work lads. Thank you

Tried for the first time 15th October 22 Cod had nice crispy batter and the fish was moist and well dained ( not oily ) Chips were also nice no black bits Will definitely going back

We always order online and when we get there to collect the food is piping hot and ready to go. The children’s meals are really good value. Best chip shop in Harlow

I have had Fish and chips quite a few times from this shop, the only downside is the quality of the chips, I have always received stale reheated chips mixed in with fresh chips. Having said that it is also true that their fish is the best in the town, the quality of the fish is what makes me return to this shop, I just wish the chips were top notch too.

Such a great fish and chip shop. Forgot how amazing it was. Have to go a long way to beat the food, service and friendly people.

Just tried My Plaice for the first time and it’s definitely the best fish and chips in Harlow town. It’s freshly cooked with a thin coating of batter on the fish. Plus they’ve got really good deals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The service was good as both people working there were really friendly even though we turned up about 15 mins before they close. Would highly recommend!

Dropped by on the way home for dinner and was happy there was a great deal on Mondays where you buy any chips you get free chips so 2 cod and chips cost £9.80 bargain! The chips and fish were both fresh and delicious, best fish & chips I have had in Harlow for a long time. Staff friendly and service was excellent. Would recommend and I will be back in the future.

Always freshly cooked to order, even when it's busy. Staff are friendly and the place is nice and clean

Order food for a Friday night takeaway turned up on time but only some of the order phoned the shop to tell them and all I got was it’ll be an hour as we are busy what a joke

The food is gorgeous and reasonably priced and portions are generous. The curry sauce is lovely. We ordered takeaway for the three of us. We use them when we fancy fish and Chips seaside fish and Chips in Harlow.

Best chips and doner kebabs in Harlow by a mile,generous portions and everything always fresh and hot.

All fish freshly cooked while you wait. Great chips and a fabulously fruity curry sauce. Some great daily deals make it even better value. This is without doubt the best chippy in the town!

Wether you enjoy Fish and Chips or a Doner Kebab My Plaice offer both and are always excellent value. If you don't ring up and order before you collect be prepared to wait while they cook it fresh for you but its worth it. The Kebabs are ram packed and great value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff. Midweek deals and a delivery service on orders over £10.
