My Happy Place Café in Dover

Found this cafe. Popped in because it was quiet and there was a vegan option on the menu. There was no non dairy milk available; fair enough. I ordered the vegan burger. Told ten minutes later no vegan cheese, would I like ordinary cheddar (no). Ok, told it will come with vegan mayo. Another ten minutes of waiting told mayo had curdled. I said we will go to the cafe two doors down as I didn’t fancy a dry burger. Requested a refund (no alternatives having been offered). The chef (owner?) came striding out of the kitchen to berate me, in front of other customers, for not wanting her dry offerings. She was actually shouting and swearing. A truly dreadful experience.

Once again excellent food. I had eggs benedict and my partner had eggs florentine. Both were delicious as was the coffee.

Lovely full English. Quality ingredients, all freshly prepared. And gorgeous ground decaff coffee!!! Highly recommended.

Visited again today with friends. Excellent full English breakfast, hot and plentiful. Friendly staff and great service.

I visited this cafe just yesterday morning. Whilst the food was okay (yet still very pricey seeing as there are many other better cafes in sandwich), the establishment was dim and poorly lit. The staff member who served us was welcoming and polite, however when it came to what I can only assume is the chef I was absolutely disgusted. Her attitude towards the customers shows an absolute lack of respect for the people who are actually paying for her job. I heard her berate a staff member for doing their job and when she went back towards the kitchen the whole cafe heard her insult a customer for wanting a change to their meal. Having worked in hospitality myself I was shocked to hear this kind of behaviour from the chef, especially one who seems to be a number of years older than the server. This place needs to rethink its staffing situation entirely if it is to continue to run. I urge everyone to never go to this hellish cafe.

Have been twice in March. Both times had the eggs benedict which were excellent. The sauce in particular was great and the fresh coffee good.

First visit and good food. I had a baked potato my partner a panini neither of which was disappointing. Coffee good as well!

Très bon rapport qualité / prix. Sandwichs très bons et service sympa. Un peu bruyant à l’heure de pointe. Rien à redire.

I visited twice for breakfast. Both times I had their Big Breakfast, which was excellent. Freshly cooked and well cooked using quality produce. It was excellent value. The service was also excellent.
