My Dhabba in Coventry

Entered there for an evening meal with two friends, entered on Friday evening, without reservation. Staff were friendly and accommodating, food came out cooked well and I must highlight the chickken jalfrezi was cooked to perfection. Perfect balance of spice rounded off with a bell pepper and onion edge. How a jalfrezi should be!

Great service, average food, poor atmosphere, no alcohol served, uncomfortable seats and tables, fast-food /delivery style. For a quick in and out, works; for enjoyable evening out, doesn't.

One of the best Indian restaurants in the city and I’ve been to them all, service is absolutely phenomenal, prices are fair and it’s bring your own drink which personally we all really like, a special mention for hamza that guy goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your experience and food. Good food and service, the decor could do with updating. It was also freezing as they had the air conditioning on the whole time even after requesting it to VFS switched off. Couldn’t wait to leave for that reason but service and food was decent.

Came here about 6 months ago and had a great meal and atmosphere.Came back this weekend and was disappointed Curry and fish starter amazing.But a dynamite chicken starter was basically nuggets with perinaise(not impressed).The naan breads were too buttery not enjoyable at all and the paneer side tastered of nothing when we advised the waiter of our issue no apologies just they are cutting down salt this is why and we can add ourselves.Staff quite rude on this occasion and waited a while for our food to come and whilst watching all service to tables was structure. no pleasantries.Very disappointing.

The whole experience was amazing!!! The food delicious from start to finish! I had the chicken malai for started and chicken korma with pilau rice and garlic cheese naan! Just excellent!!! The same I can say about the service! Both Hamza and Bishal were very polite, kind and attentive! Definitely 5 star experience and recommend for anyone to eat there!

We came here today as a walk-in. It was such a warm welcome. They don’t sell alcoholic drinks, but you can bring your own. Our server was Bishal and he was attentive. The food was good, wasn’t the best we’ve had is Coventry and was a little slow coming out of the kitchen. But still worth the visit! We had the chicken and seafood thalis. The chicken was the best, the seafood was missing the salmon which was stated on the menu, but still very nice! We have left feeling very full. Thanks for a nice meal.

First of all I guess the reviews are false. The service was extremely slow, also the food was not to the point. We literally waited for like 45 minutes for our food to get served. I would never suggest this restaurant to anyone.

We saw the reviews for the place and went there. The place was looking aesthetic but the food quality and service was exactly the opposite. Firstly, the staff told that there were no tables availaible and advised us to come 2 hours later and then I called them to book an appointment and got one Instantly. Secondly, we faced some racism too as we ordered first, but we were served at last. Also, there was only one guy who was taking orders for the whole restaurent, didn't make any sense as the staff rejected to take ordered without him? We ordered various starters, mainstream main course dishes but to no avail. It was completely tasteless and even the quality was poor. I highly recommend everyone to find other Indian Street Food in Coventry.

Great Indian food. I ordered a vegetarian dish. Good and plentiful.

Friday night dinner with family. We showed up with no booking and they were very accommodating. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own. It's our 2nd visit here. We all really enjoyed both the quality and quantity of the food. I would recommend it and not hesitate to go back. Try the tandoori platter starter!

I’m really sorry to say this but today I’ve ordered chicken fried rice and egg fried rice for collection which turned out to be saltless and tasteless. The food is not at all worthy enough. Thanks!

Can not recommend this place enough, we had friends visiting from Spain and another couple, and I had organised this night, hoping that everything would be ok, as we not been before. The service and food were excellent, we all tried a Thali taster dishes which were delicious. The waiters were excellent polite and helpful and the restaurant nice and cosy, we will definitely be back, and our friends from Spain loved it and will visit again soon.

Hamza was a great host. Food was great. Atmosphere could be improved - fire alarm kept going off.

In fairness, our reserved table was ready, the staff polite and helpful in getting us seated. Then it went downhill. The food arrived and much of it was cold. My saffron rice wasn't even vaguely warm. The other food was tepid, hut adequate - but definately not spectacular... and not cheap either. After the fourth or fifth time that the various waiters banged into me on their way to serve another table I realised that these collisions were intentional - probably because I'm not a little bloke and the room was crmaped nad over-subscribed. The place was full and VERY noisy, to the point that people were having to shout to be heard. All in all, I'd heard good things about the place and was sadly disappointed - in fairness, the staff (notwithstanding collisions) were very pleasant and attentive, but that was as good as it got.
