This is a great restaurant in that the food is always a high quality imo. The reason for 2 stars is that even if a table for 12 is booked 3 months, (yes, 3 months) and you go in to remind them at 5:00 the same evening, the staff don’t keep a table for you. It’s hardly worth booking. Moan over.

De Laban is our favourite Indian restaurant in the whole wide world simply because their food is the best. We've had curries all over, including in some restaurants who claim to be the "best" but they do not come anywhere near De Laban's delicious food. Their Hydrabadi Biryani is a must try; simply the best ever. Everything on their menu is authentic and tastes so fresh. We live in Kenilworth which has an abundance of curry houses/Indian restaurants but we still travel to Coventry to have our curries at De Laban. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Highly recommend. Please come and open a branch in Kenilworth. Keep up the good work.

Lovely clean and pleasantly decorated restaurant. Was a party of 5 ladies who all were happy with their main course meals, sides etc. However I was not at all happy with dips with poppadoms. Very small portions of onion mixture, mint yoghurt sauce, mango chutney which was hard to distinguish that as it had been so diluted in ran like water on the plate. Need more care when delivering very hot plates and dishes. But all taken into consideration would definitely visit again. Get the chef/s to learn from some other Indian how to prepare dips for poppadoms then might give extra star to review.

Fancied an Indian last minute so tried to book online for an hours time and didn't get a response. Called up 30 minutes before I wanted to go in and asked if a table for two would be fine. Not a problem, no need for a booking just turn up I'm told. So I turn up as planned and get told its at least a 20 minute wait. I wasn't happy to say the least and I wasn't going to waste my time with anymore. Drove 5 minutes to somewhere that could actually sort out a table when they say they can.

Lovely restaurant, been twice now and the food is great, good menu too. Plates nice and hot, we loved the lighting and decoration.

Wow, a hidden gem, food was delicious, ambiance great. Service top class. Unexpected location, bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Normally can’t fault this place but we turned up on Friday for my birthday meal that my partner had arranged as a surprise. Ordered our food and was really looking forward to it. Over an hour later and still no food had arrived but the couple next to us who were regulars you could tell had there starters turn up within 10 mins of ordering. When asked where our starters were we were met with blank looks from one member of staff. The man than served up the approached us and decided to ask what it was we had ordered. After this we got up and walked away how can you forget someone’s order and not put it though. Really disappointed ruined what should have been a lovely evening out.

This is the perfect restaurant.....I'm vegan.....the gentleman always go out of the way for myself and my family and friends.....I have a brother who is down syndrome and autistic..... basically one extra chromazone......and a mother who has Cancer.....the gentleman are so sensitive and sweeter than the sweetest sweet.....both dining in and out.....I can not fault the Indian restaurant in anyway.....thank God there is a eloquent people like this today..... thank you so much indeed for your kindness and sensitivity

What a find! Tucked away in a residential area, lovely, lovely food. We're obviously late to find this place as it was really busy and takeaways were none stop too but food and service quality was maintained. Lots of groups, including families. Bring your own alcohol but there's a good shop next door, personally I prefer this option. We will definitely go back.

We have recently found this restaurant and love the food. Always deliver on time , and very generous portions. The chicken razella is incredible, never heard of it before , but its the best dish ever !

Great food , not overly expensive . Very clean and tidy restaurant . I would go as far as saying, probably one of the best restaurants I’ve had food in Coventry . Staff extremely well, mannered and polite, but also willing to have a bit of banter with you . This restaurant Should go on you must try list . There is a shop seconds away to get your drink to take if that’s your thing . Myself, I will definitely be going there again. Parking outside was okay, but I could see it being a little bit of a problem on a busy night. But plenty of places to park over the road.

We Always order from here and they’re always spot on 👌 brilliant service, brilliant atmosphere and most of all the food perfect. I Would and do highly recommend to everyone and anyone.

We took our daughter here for her 9th birthday this evening. What can I say. We were blown away by the staff they were attentive and so wonderful to her, calling her princess etc. Bought out a cake with us which they bought out at the end of our meal sung happy birthday to her, they let us decorate the table before we arrived with banners and glitter. So attentive and wonderul. The food was outstanding, staff exceptional, although the room is small but it doesnt matter at all as its beautiful inside and they all made her feel like royalty. Don't worry about bad reviews they are a false representation of this place. Its a hidden Gem 100% returning again in the future. Whatever the occasion your visiting they will provide a great atmosphere to enjoy fantastic food. Thank you De Laban for making our daughters birthday so special tonight xx

First visit and will be back, service between courses a little slow, but they were busy on a Tuesday evening, staff friendly and helpful.

Sorry to say that I found the takeaway to be pretty poor. £34 is utterly ludicrous for a small meal, so we won't be using this place again. I like onions, either raw or cooked; not half-cooked though, really not nice. They are the cheapest ingredient, and they dominated the meal. All about keeping costs down, I guess. The price though, wow. Not worth £25, let alone the price we paid.

Great food and service, second time we've been here in a big group and I could not fault any of the dishes. All very tasty.

The last three deliveries to our home. It arrived late on average 20 minutes and only after every time I had to call to say you're late before it arrived. Today, our food was . Late, barley warm, and tasteless. This has Been the same for at least our last 3 deliveries in the last 8 to 10 weeks. Won't use it again

Bloody awful service, ordered a delivery at 5.55pm, told it would arrive at 7.20pm, phoned at 7.20pm to be told with a sigh it wasnt even cooked!! Never going there again!!

The best Indian food I've ever had, (and i've eaten lots over the years) poppadom sauces were excellent, very nice staff and atmosphere

The food wasn’t bad at all, but the main man who was serving is quite rude and I didn’t feel welcomed. They just need to employ professional staff. However, the other two young men were so polite and friendly.

Had a takeaway from De Laban as I was visiting family in the area. Ordered online and collected 45mins later. The restaurant was full, but they got my order for me straight away. Food was fantastic, nice hot and spicy and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Will be back for a sit down meal next time I'm in cov. Would definitely recommend.

We haven't been for a long time here, We enjoyed the food and service and it wasn't over busy on a Saturday either so that was good. Great food on the night.

Ordered a chicken korai. What I received was a chicken tikka masala. Although it was nice it was not what I ordered. What a shame as we have had food from here before. Not a happy customer this time.

Been here twice over the last few months and I have to say, so far it hasn't disappointed. Service has been good and the food is has had excellent flavours and has been served very hot, just how I like it. The venue itself is nicely situated and is clean with generally a good atmosphere. We will be returning soon! Very much recommended!

Second time I have ordered a delivery pre order just before 5 and still waiting1 hour and 30 mins later. Terrible service. Don't offer delivery if you can't fulfill them.

Fabulous fine food. Great service and bring your own alcoholic drinks. What's not to love. Had a great night out with girls. Will be doing this every month. Great value at less than £20 each. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Table booked for 7pm. 7:25 still not seated as restaurant was clearly overbooked. Food looked great. Disappointed not to try it.

Just needs the chef to learn how to cook the prawns and shrims, instead of the 'rubber' ones that once again are being served up. What I find amazing, is that all the staff seemed to know the reason for the 'rubber' shrimps except the one person who cooks them.

Exceptional customer service each and every time. The staff are very polite and the food (curries in particular) are top quality. This place is a hidden gem.

Used this restaurant before and food is good. Today we spent 2 hours there to get 1 course with lots of takeaway meals going out very efficiently while we sat and waited. The service has never been great and the main person in charge is just way too rude. Our order was messed up. We only ordered two dishes and yet one was not made as chef messed it up . We waited 1.5 hours only to be told that chef has messed up our order and he didn’t even cook our food . This is just awful. And the main person was not even sorry. Why can’t he be more polite and sensible. We paid and left and obviously never going back. They absolutely ruined our evening.

Outstanding service and Food Ordered Lamb Naga full of fresh Spices and meat, keema nan bread was fresh as they come. Best in the Area fresh and spice consistent 10/10. Ordered take out from Ibis hotel

This place is very pricey however the food is good and consistently so, every now and again we will splash out a little extra and order here. The portions arent the best and the containers are not full. Delivery is about 45 mins and food has always been hot - well as hot as can be expected for a delivery.

Two stars is for the staff as they were good. Been before the food was really nice but other night it was so bland no flavour whatsoever nann burnt curry tasted really watery and definitely the worst I’ve ever eaten may be an off day but I won’t be returning anytime soon to eat that.

Just a take away but once again excellent service and friendly staff. Food was lovely and affordable 😋. Well worth a visit.

Great range of dishes and consistent cooking, we’ve visited a few times now and not been disappointed Really recommend you book a table at the weekend as it’s really busy from early opening The only thing I would suggest is they need to concentrate more on diners rather than the takeout business, we had a long wait between ordering and getting food But the food is worth the wait and good value for money Not licensed so bring your own beer

Food was very very tasty as usual. The chef had done what I asked for and had cooked mine with no Ghee and no oil as I find this too greasy. I do think that the drivers should be issued with a bag to carry the food in as by the time it got to us it was luke warm which was such a shame. He had just got the food in the paper bag on his passenger seat as I had to go to the car so saw this. Didn't put me off this time but if happens again will have to rethink.

Lovely food. I recommend booking a table I went at 6:45 on a dark November Wednesday and they were very busy, managed to fit us in through. No alcohol license but there’s a handy off-licence almost next door.

Absolute rubbish food. Ordered chicken tikka and lamb tikka masala as a main. It was like chicken tikka and lamb tikka desert, very sweet. Raised my complaint to the staff but all in vain . Ruined my eveining. Don't go to this restaurant absolute waste of money.

The quality and flavour of the dishes was excptional. Staff very welcoming and the cozy ambience was lovely too. We were amazed at the value, especially when the bill came. Will definately be returning soon

Seen this place in the evening telegraph after winning an award. Ordered online although it wasn't quite ready on arrival, the lad on desk was super friendly and chatty. The food was great. It is also a restaurant however doesn't serve alcohol so not for me. See you soon though for my takeaway.

It was our first time visit. Ordered Nan basket, stuffed Paratha and lamb tikka masala. Everything tasted great and worth the visit. They also provided pappadams (both plain and spiced with sweet, spicy, tangy condiments) Definitely recommended to visit if you haven't been there for North-Indian cuisine taste. Ensure you pre-book your table during Friday nights and weekends. Also, it's BYOB restaurant 🙂

This food is absolutely beautiful, very tasty and fresh. One of our favourite places to go for curry. The reason for only 4 stars is the atmosphere, its a lovely venue but the staff seem immature and rude. This don't stop me returning as the food is so good.

Consistency of food and value…. Always good, who could complain? Been here for many years, good service good food, bring your own drink… an expensive night £15 a head….😀

Always good food, nice interior, reasonable price. Service can be hit and miss but one of the waiters in particular is really friendly.

I had booked then the manager phoned and asked if we could come 30 minutes later to make sure we had a table which I agreed. When we went on time as agreed no table and no chance of one in a reasonable waiting period as all full. Very disappointed why accept the booking?

I use this restaurant every week and while the food is very good it is rapidly becoming a good takeaway. The service has never been great and the main person in charge can be quite rude but today he exceeded himself. There are lots of good Indian restaurants about and most of them exceed in the service you get. This is the first time I have ever given a bad review on line as normally I can discuss it while I am there but on this occasion I don't believe he cared about how we felt.

We had an order delivered on the 01/04/22 and were originally quoted 70 minutes for delivery, which was understandable for a Friday night. The food however took over 2 hours to arrive, was cold, and was also missing a starter. A real shame because the food that arrived was fantastic (once reheated!).

Previously really enjoyed this restaurant but my last visit was a let down. Poor service and disappointing food.

Shocking experience, terrible customer service and restaurant in chaos. We arrived with friends for our confirmed telephone booking only to find there were no tables available and no likelihood of any becoming available. The manager left us standing for 20 minutes and offered nothing by way of apology/anything. Customers were arriving after us in the same predicament and dissatisfied customers were waiting ages for takeaways plus complaining their orders were incomplete.. Total chaos, we left hungry and will not be returning.

First time here, top notch. Service, food and general atmosphere of the place is as good as it gets.

Today we phoned De Laban and booked a table for 4. We arrived at 8 and they confirmed that they had our booking but they didn't have a table for us. The staff then said they would look at finding a table but we were left for 20 minutes at the bar with no further information. We then asked what was happening and they said they were trying to find a table. We could see that a table wasn't going to be free any time soon. The only time we found out what was happening was when we asked a passing staff. The whole place was in chaos. People were coming in to collect takeaways only to return 20 minutes later because they had only got half their order. Other people were arriving to pick up their takeaway and were still there having waited for 20 minutes. We left at this point 45 minutes after we had arrived. Unfortunately it is not the first time we have been to the De Laban where we have had issues with either the booking, time taken to have someone get our order or time taken to get our food. One time we waited 90 minutes after ordering before we got our starter. We only go because the food is really good but we have decided now that enough is enough and we will not be going there again. I would advise anyone else thinking of going to the De Laban to think carefully before booking as you may have not have a table available even though you had booked one and had confirmation of the booking and you may have to wait for a long time to be served and even longer to get your food

I phoned a takeaway collection for 2 people at 7.15pm and they said it would be 45mins. We arrived at 8pm to collect the food and it was chaos. It was full of people waiting for collections or arriving for prebooked tables and there were no tables. We were just told to wait and it will be there shortly, no apology. No organisation and the whole place was a mess. At 8.45pm we had enough, everyone had wrong or missing orders, we asked for a refund, the manager was very rude and argued. We finally got some food however when we got home at 9pm it was the wrong order! We will not be going back here again.

The whole restaurant was in a complete shambles. The restaurant was full and our pre booked table unavailable. Whilst we were there another pre booking arrived and there was not table for them either, takeaways were taking half an hour longer than pickup time and...

Probably the best take away curry I've ever had. Really delighted and I got poppadums and pickles included for free. Delicious. I can't wait to take my friend there; it has modern design restaurant and friendly staff. Top marks!

Immaculatex, intimate, cosy atmosphere; the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is beyond gorgeous and of course you can take your own drinks, what more can you ask - this is a 5-star Indian restaurant and deserves all the praise it gets, cannot recommend it enough, always have to book as it's always very busy. We mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and they promptly came with a surprise beautifully presented coconut ice cream with a candle on top which made us feel so special.

Always good food and service when I go there. Great value for money too. Worth a visit. Have to bring own alcohol but that’s a bonus
