Great food. Omelette could have had a little more depth, but was great.

Was looking for a local halal brunch/cafe spot near me in Coventry city centre and seen this lovely little spot so came to check it out with the wife. Orders karak chai and Kashmiri pink tea and was not disappointed! The masala omelette wrap was freshly made. We ordered a alphonse mango and passion milk cake. Couldn’t taste the passion fruit so was just a mango milkcake. Anyways after the first bite I could tell it was off and the milk was spoilt however the waitress behind the front till helped out fast and replaced my milkcake with a fresh one and this one I could tell was fresh as had been told it’d been delivered today morning. Overall lovely spot and definitely coming back!!

This chai spot is amazing! The chai is full of flavour just the right mix of spices and sweetness. So good! The staff is super friendly and quick, even when it’s busy. Perfect place to chill and enjoy a great cup of tea. Definitely worth checking out!

Very quiet, walked in and just sat down, was unsure of how the service worked here. It’s a pay when you order type service. Karak chai was good, know that you’ll get it in a takeaway cup no matter what. Chicken biryani was large portion and filling, very flavoured good food.

Stop scamming people! Ordered Chana Poori, the quantity of chana can be seen in the attached picture. Are you guys scamming people? Upon asked for some reasonable quantity to finish 2 pooris, they charged me £2 extra. Literally?? £2 for this little portion of chana? And why at the first place would you give such less quantity? And manager was so rude. Her answer was we are running a business. Really? Wow madam, what a brand new information you just gave me. Had you not informed me, I would have never gotten to know that. But did you not learn how to run the business fairly? The chana is to be eaten ‘with’ the poori, not to be ‘touched’ to it! Such disappointment!

The food portions are very less. Some of the staffs are not friendly at all. Rude behavior, such an unpleasant atmosphere.

I'm still trying to process the shock and disgust I felt when I bit into something hard it felt like a nail it felt like that while enjoying my samosa chat today at My Chai Yes, you read that right - a nail! It's unacceptable and inexcusable for a restaurant to serve food with such a hazardous object. The evening started off on a promising note. I ordered my favorite chai and samosa chat, expecting a comforting and flavorful experience. The chai arrived promptly, and I was pleased with its aroma and taste. However, things took a drastic turn when I dug into the samosa chat. The crunch of the samosa was satisfying, but it was soon replaced by a strange, metallic sensation in my mouth. I spat it out immediately, and that's when I saw it - a small nail, partially embedded in the samosa. I was horrified and felt a wave of anxiety wash over me. How could a restaurant be so careless? Don't they have quality control measures in place to prevent such incidents? I immediately notified the staff, who seemed apologetic but not entirely surprised. They offered to replace the dish, but I had lost my appetite by then.

Came in here for some chai. At first glance it seems a nice, clean place but the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered and paid for drinks at the counter and then the lady serving apparently completely forgot she was supposed to be serving us drinks and went out back to do something else. I had to go up after 20 minutes waiting for drinks to find out where they were. Not impressed.

Went with my kids ordered qeema paratha, cilli cheese paratha and desi breakfast. Not the best, the taste was like it was pre heated. Only thing we enjoyed was the karak chai.

I used to be a loyal customer of this restaurant, but after today’s experience, I won’t be returning. I ordered butter paneer and ended up waiting for 40 minutes, only to see people who arrived after me get their orders, eat, and leave while I was still waiting. When I finally asked for a refund, they did provide one and offered a complimentary tea. Unfortunately, the tea tasted terrible. This experience has left a bad taste, and I’m extremely disappointed. I won’t be coming back.

My Chai in Coventry is a cosy spot for lovers of Karak Chai and some tasty snacks. The Paneer Paratha was really satisfying, but the Keema Paratha fell short, as it tasted like it was made with a frozen meat slice. The cafe's decor is charming, with a theme that feels like you're sitting under a big tree, making it a relaxing place to hang out. There’s a variety of seating, so whether you're there to catch up with friends or just unwind, it's comfortable. The service could be friendlier; some of the staff didn’t seem very welcoming, which takes away from the overall experience. The prices are reasonable, and it’s usually easy to find a seat, but just be aware there’s no parking. If they could improve the service and keep the food quality consistent, this place would be a real gem.

This ain't my chai this is my lun more like. Girl making parathas don't have gloves on in food prep area so lack of health and safety precautions, my order was given wrong when I ordered 6 teas while 4 was meant to be large and 2 reg but was given everything regular paying for large instead but was refunded £2. Was offered to exchange to large but was running late. However the decor and atmosphere is neat and tidy just lack of customer service and enthusiasm and brief urgency lacking health and safety when handling hot and cold food beverages etc. Won't be here again unless there is change but apart from that it was my 5th visit after a while and my last for now. Last two visits was disappointing as I can see standards have dropped unfortunately. I could of chosen to go karak chai in stoney stanton rd or even another joint in Cosford St but I had high expectations for my chai especially but looks like I bit more than I could chew.

The tea is nice which is the only thing I like about this place. French toast is disappointing too soggy. Samosa chaat is bland and music is way too loud which is annoying.

VERY DISGUSTING theres no regard for hygiene in this place, was given a cappuccino in a mug that had lipstick marks on it, the mug was brown from the the dirt and the plate the cake was on was sticky. Genuinely not sure if its even safe to eat if thats just what was the experience with coffee and a cake

I had some of the biriyani and the chicken gave me food poisoning and i could tell it’s been out for some time. The food is not worth the price deffo do not recommend.

I had the worst experience at mychai. The owner of this place treat their customers in a very pathetic way. Things escalated with the owner so bad that we even had to call the police.

Love this place, great parathas and mocktails, though a bit on the pricier side. It was a semi-regular haunt of mine during uni, when we had the cash.

My Chai is a hidden Nest in City centre of Coventry’ As much as it’s sometimes crowded but had loads of fun having a breakfast on weekend’ As it was the iconic Motofest exhibit day so sofa was available. Desi breakfast is good quality but very fat loaded’ also they are bit over pricey for what they offer. Samosa bite is a good deal’ Alu paratha is also good. Once in a month isn’t a bad deal to sit and people gaze.

Went in yesterday (28/4/24) for 2 x Karak chai’s - should not take 45 minutes to then not get the drinks and for me to demand a refund a walk out. Shocking service

Hi guys first let me start with being charged £2 for Costco water. Secondly biryani was pre cooked. Food tasted like it was from a run down asian restaurant. You do not have chaiwala level of food or service and your more expensive than them. Please avoid guys!!!!!! In Coventry you might get away with it. Guys stick to chaiwala

The food was okay, drinks was good however the customer service was absolutely awful, simple act of kindness would make me visit this place again however I will not be doing it again due to the really bad service and rude staff

Absolutely poor service. Asked for a Karak Coffee and gave me a latte with a cinnamon stick on top and ginger syrup. I asked for a refund and to swap for a karak chaii and the manager said no because it was a waste! They should advertise on their menu that the karak chai is just a latte!! The boss argues with me that this was a correct karak coffee!!

Visited this popular restaurant to have Sunday lunch.The menu consists good mix of veg items.I ordered a desi breakfast with extra Chana, and 1 samosa chaat. Halwa,partha was delicious.Halwa was spot on.Chana was nice.Samosa Chaat was so delicious,great pink tea always hits the spot, and staffs are attentive and polite.Will definitely revisit again to try

Stopped here for lunch, ordered a pink chai (£2.50), a vegetarian desi breakfast (£9ish) and butter paneer with paratha (£8ish). Everything was fresh and tasty, the pink chai was really good! The desi breakfast came with an omelette,chana chickpea Dal, tarka lentil Dal and paratha

Love this place! Fresh food is cooked daily and is always 10-10 unlike other Chai places. A great atmosphere and decor is beautiful with a family seating at the rear. A must try.

Me and my family of 5 visited and they refused to take our order, said it was closed when there was an hour and 15mins to go for closing time. We went to Chaiiwala on Foleshill road who then served us incredible chai. Even though they were closing in half and hour, and allowed us to sit too.

We ordered Samosa chaat and Pink tea. Samosa chaat was really nice, but tea had a strange taste, It would have been better if the tea was served in actual cups instead of plastic cups. If someone wants to take away, they should serve in plastic cups, but if a person wants dining in, they should serve in actual cups.

Homely and delicious food. The aloo paratha never ceases to amaze. Strongly recommend their ginger tea. The host is so courteous and welcoming and it's worth visiting for when you are dearly craving Indian food. Great location and comfortable seating, too.

Good option for authentic Indian snacks.

Had bad experience as a customer was bothering people spoke to the owner about it and he sorted the issue out. All people who go there are treated well and the owner kamal is very approachable and treats people with respect.

Ordered masala wrap and full breakfast which claims to contain HANDMADE sausages... I literally saw the fellow take them out of a plastic pack and throw them in the oil 🙃 Food was okay. Tea lukewarm. Music quite loud.

Place itself is nice we ordered a desi breakfast which was nice , a big No No to the desi chai it tasted rank like it’s been boiled forever n burnt plasticy weird taste , I asked very politely if we could get just the teas changed as it wasn’t nice at all , very disappointed with staff member who said point blank sorry No , wasn’t willing to even listen , very bad customer service , the guy that owns it wasn’t interested at all , couldn’t really believe it to be honest , so disgusted with the staff there , really put off going there again ., we had to just leave as felt so uncomfortable

The owner is nice guy. Overall food and service is good. However, one member of their staff is very rude and disrespectful to most of customers. I have been going there for almost two years now. I might stop going to MyChai and will ask my friends the same. It’s a shame, how single staff person can ruin ones business.

This was the restaurant I tried my first desi breakfast in - it was amazing! The pink chai is also very good; nice and hot, topped with pistachios 👍😊 I‘ve returned lots with my husband - he also approves! I would say he would usually try anything and then stick with a few firm favourites. For him to want return, it must be good! The service can be hit and miss, so if you don’t like being patient for a good thing, then it’s not necessarily the place for you. During my last visit (Saturday early morning) there was a lot of online orders which seemed to be dominating things a bit too much for the chef & the one other member of staff. When another member of staff arrived it helped a little, but another chef during busy times would definitely improve waiting times. Ordinarily I go mid afternoon & it’s always good service. The standard of the food and how hot is doesn’t depend on how busy it is; it’s always been great on my visits. I love the atmosphere, especially when they play Indian music. It’s a lovely environment for an introvert here. It seems family friendly & multi cultural - alongside the amazing food, that’s what I love most about it. Will be returning for sure! ☺️

Had lunch with my wife. Had the desi breakfast and omlette roll. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and served with a smile. The decor is really nice. Will certainly be going again and recommending to family and friends.

Ordered Flat White and Fanta. Flat white doesn’t have any “Flat white” consistence. It’s literally just coffee with milk. It can’t be like that. Fanta was in very old bottle. Scratched and dirty. We didn’t drink it, just left it.

I ordered halwa-puri. The puris were stale, had fungus n short strands of hair on them. Disgusting!

I ordered biryani from them via deliveroo and they send me spoilage food as it can be seen in the picture plus its smell so bad and when i tried to complain restaurant they just simply said that they can't help and i should talk to deliveroo and the replay i got from deliveroo is should write review about them at the end in all this i lost 9 pounds plus delivery charges

Perfect place to chill out with friends and family. Chai is better than chaiwala. It's not machine made. Hukka making needs to be perfected, it's not prepared correctly giving out hard smoke. But the hukkas are good quality. Breakfast choices are good and also tastes great. Overall an amazing place but needs to be maintained and ensure quality does not degrade.

Second time visiting for dine in experience, but was a little disappointed. Mocktails were very nice and served well, however we served our karak chai and pink chai in takeaway cups and felt a little cold and just milky. I'd like to think it was a one off experience as we've had ubereats deliveries which were great!

I occasionally travel to Coventry for work, so I've been coming to My Chai frequently for breakfast or lunch (and occasionally both). It's always an enjoyable experience, and when I've met or taken colleagues there, they have always had a good time, too. The ambiance is very welcoming and the service is of a very high standard -- staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and make great recommendations. Do yourself a favour and visit if you haven't already. I should add that it is also perfect for families, including those with young children.

This place deserves 1 star for the following reasons: the service is really bad, our food took forever to come and they didn't apologise or let us know that it will take long. They prioritised the take aways over dine in customers. Additionally, the food came in a chipped serving plate as in the photo. This dangerous as we had a child with us but also they don't care about presenting themselves well. The food isn't amazing and Chaiiwala is definitely better. Will not recommend this place.

Was a fan of this place, but don’t like it anymore. My last trip/ order today. I always ask for extra chillies in my Aloo paratha. They said yes, but it wasn’t put. When I asked I was told they are very busy. The options with the Aloo paratha is the Indian chai, it is so sweet for me and they don’t have the no sugar version. They are very rigid about their options. Worst customer service. Today the paratha was very oily, burnt and didn’t like it without my extra chillies. The curd they provide with the paratha is sooo sweet. No more “my chai” for me now

My friend and I ordered two lattes and we basically got two cups of warm milk, you couldn't taste the coffee... We asked the barman to please do them again and he did, but little changed. We paid £3 each for a coffee that we did not drink. Moreover, they didn't have and non-dairy milk alternative. I'm only giving two stars because the food my other friend ordered (Aloo Paratha) was good.
