Ashleigh serviced us for a delicious Sunday Roasted lunch, service good, food good, beef wasn't as pink as I thought it might be, but very tender and delicious.

What a lovely pub! Friendly staff, we had a warm welcome. Food was really lovely. Had the vegetarian burger and think it's the nicest burger I've ever had! It's dog friendly which was the reason we went here Highly recommended 👌

I have visited this pub before as I frequently stay at the nearby Premier Inn and have found it ok. This weekend I booked a table at 8.00 after a long day's trading. We were taken to a table given menus but no drinks list by a pleasant if harassed staff member. 45 minutes later, ,after a greeting but no interaction by another staff member, we were offered drinks. At this point we asked for and received a drinks list, and as it was Fizz Friday we asked for prosecco. Nearly quarter of an hour later we received some tepid fizz with the excuse that they had been waiting for it to cool. Only then did we get to order food and it was quite a while before it appeared. Mine was fine but my husband was less than delighted with his and we left as soon as we could. The following evening we got sandwiches from Morrisons rather than returning. I doubt we'll be returning.

Good pub with outdoor seating. Food was good and staff friendly. Outside was just a tad bit neglected, but wasn't too bad. Tables and chairs could have done with a wipe. Didn't stay in the hotel, just pub food.

Thank you so much to Caitlin, who made my mums birthday so very special. From entering the restaurant, Caitlin, acknowledged us, with a smile and the service received was exceptional, my elderly mum commented more than once on how good Caitlin was. When the food arrived, this was exactly what we had ordered and presented well. Please pass on my comments to Caitlin, she is a key employee and an asset to your company. Thank you.

Seamless, from checkin, service and breaki it was a great price . Amazing breakfast from Ricki well worth popping in just for food it was very presentable tasty and hot thank you we would highly recommend it.

Went there for late lunch. The food was good, and the atmosphere was good. I would recommend it. If you like curry the chicken katsu was lovely.

We called in on Sunday night without booking. There was 7 of us. All the food was very good, everything hot and cooked as requested. The waitress was attentive and very friendly, she had a poorly arm but still managed ok. Well done and thank you.

Great food and a great service reason for 5 stars was because of our waiter Bal who was very polite and pleasant. 5 Stars Bal!

Firstly, we were told one colour key to open the door of the building and other colour for the room, however, these were told to use the wrong way round and after trying and looking like a fool for a few minutes using the key we were told to use we decided to try the other which worked and allowed us access to the building. The room was clean, however there was only 1 cup, one tea bag, one sugar sachet, one tiny milk. It was late around 8.30/9pm when we got to the room and the reception was in another building with no contact number or phone from the room to ask for more supplies. The room was freezing and the first thing I did was turn the radiator on...however this had no effect as it didn't warm up and the room was very cold all night!

We popped up here for dinner and a few drinks with friends. The service was great, friendly waitress. The food was hot when served and tasted good, value for money. Location is good, not far from M6 and A46

Hadn't been hear for 5 years as our last experience was poor. What a transformation. The food and the service were excellent and good value for money.

Waited over 2 hours for our food. When it arrived our steaks were cooked at the wrong temperature & the wrong side was given on one of them. Really poor service, won’t be coming back

Staff were great, rushed off there feet bless'um. Food wasn't great, we have been here a few times, and we have totally loved it, we came from Leicester so it's a bit of a drive! My meal was ok, but my partners wasn't as advertised. Salmon with Rainbow salad. Salmon, so overcooked it was crispy. The salad did not have most of the ingredients advertised ( no beetroot, no grains, peppers and spinach) i mean how can you get a salad wrong!! And the skin on fries were just fries with no rosemary! All sounded lovely on the menu that's why we went! Really disappointed. I don't know what going on there but even the decor has seen better days, from the carpet to the state of the walls which looked like it had food on it where we was seated, it's really gone down hill, such a shame it was such a beautiful place with great food with a great location. Just ruined our night out really.

I've been to the Cocked Hat numerous times and always had good service from all the staff but Shanice stands out. She is polite, friendly, knowledgeable and has a sense of humour. A real asset to the company.

Two stars for friendly staff Visited for lunch. Vegan cauliflower bang bang was inedible, microwaved sponge and the cauliflower was gone off it STUNK. The floors are FILTHY. We ate surrounded by other people's empty glasses as no glass collection. I dont know what's happened to the walls because all around the place is holes / damage if this is what front of house looks like I wouldn't like to think about the kitchen Can't attach pics here

Boxing day meal. Food was very good with a good selection of dishes and staff were excellent, set menu price was great value and everyone enjoyed the visit. Online booking process was relatively easy however pre ordering the food was a bit of a pain. It would be much easier if you could order everyone's meal online at the same time as confirming who is attending

We visited for our family Christmas meal 2 weeks ago and we will not be returning, especially not for Christmas. Service was beyond poor, 1hr and a 30mins between starter and main meal. The starter of chicken goujons consisted of one goujon cut up into little pieces, the thinest slither of brie and basked in bbq sauce to cover the sins. Some people had finished their desserts before others got theirs... all just not acceptable for the price of the 3 course festive menu. We had to ask staff twice to clear plates and had to nudge them 3 times to say we were ready for dessert. Staff just found congregating in the kitchen laughing and chatting.

Good value for money food and excellent service

Very disappointing as I've been there quite often in past couple months. This time service very very slow. Food cold, sent food back still cold when returned,. I consequently had to eat my dinner on my own as my dinner had to go back twice. Table booked for 1.15 not served till 2pm ish. Felt embarrassed as I truly recommended having there.

Called in for a meal with family, the service we had was very good staff friendly and courteous the food was very nice and reasonable price ,look forward to going back .

Great meal with the family - great service and great food

4 of us, 2 having festive pre ordered menu. Only 2 starters came out, waited 10 mins then had to ask for them. The prawn cocktail was just about coated in the tiniest buit of Marie rose sauce. Only just started eating them and the main course was brought out. Sent them back as was still eating. When main course came out my burger was minus the chips. When the bill came they hadn't deducted the £20 deposit I had paid! Extremely unhappy and the waitress just made ys feel as if we were being a nuisance. We definitely won't be back!

We all had a main meal and we all enjoyed our meals . Staff were helpful and friendly

Nice rooms in separate building

I Recently Had My Second Visit within 6 months at the Cocked Hat & I can safely say I got more than i could’ve expected from the food and friendly service. We got greeted at our table by Madeline who was attending to all needs from the beginning of our meal. I ordered The ‘Our Ultimate Burger’ & my partner had the ‘Chargrill Chicken Skewers’ and it was more than I expected of the typical pub grub. The presentation 10/10 & Flavour 10/10. I would also like to say that Maddie was so reassuring even when our food was running a little longer than expected with a friendly smile everywhere she went. Thanks a lot all, i’ll definitely be back !!

Came in for dinner tonight, waited a little longer than usual for food, but was understandable considering how busy they were and they did warn us. Food however was awesome definitely recommend the Honey chicken burger to anyone and a special shout out the the girls who served us

Turned up on Saturday, place looked empty but was told restaurant was full, so looked in the other seating area and it's ridiculous how 2 people were taken up a large table, and no staff around to ask them to help

I have NEVER complained or refused to eat a meal in any establishment before but today was an exception. We were greeted by a fabulous lady who showed us to our seats, swiftly followed by an equally smashing waitress who took and fulfilled our drinks in good order. Our meals were delivered in good time. This is when it all went downhill, not once but 3 times (3 of us eating). First was the dryest chicken skewer, not sure how it was so dry with how pink some of it was, very luke warm. 2nd. Scampi which was Luke warm and cheap scampi bites. 3rd Mixed grill which was inedible, dry, tough, luke warm and over cooked. All three meals were shocking and uneaten. However, we did receive a full refund but I felt so sorry for the waitress who did her best to sort the issue out.

Pleasant bar/restaurant and rooms are fine ,can be a little bit pricey

What an awful place to eat. Sack the chef he's a waste of minimum wage. Tried to give me last weeks overcooked sausage. Other people seated appeared to have received a better quality of serving. It's asif they seen us and thought... Ahhhh give them the left overs. Horrendous. Service was nice enough I guess.

Had a lovely meal yesterday with friends. Great service with a smile from the staff with special mention to Kai, Caitlin, Mady, Shanice and Emma. Good selection of beers on tap. Would recommend.

Only used the pub, not the hotel. The food was cooked perfectly and was hot and was very nice, always good when there are 5 of you and we all enjoyed our meals. There was a little wait on the food but only to be expected on a Sunday afternoon when it's very busy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They even let my neice swap her veggies for chips. Will definitely use again.

Celebrated my dad’s 80th birthday in one of the function rooms. The staff were so helpful and the service was very good. Food was also very nice. A great night enjoyed by all would definitely recommend

We hired the small function room for my Dad's 80th Birthday. From start to finish Emma and her staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was really nice and the 22 meals ordered all came out on time. A Big Thank You to all kitchen staff. We would definitely recommend this venue

Visiting the pub for a separate work interview completely un related to the cocked hat. Why the gm then felt it personally responsible to message the interviewer to slander me due to our past diffrances. This was a personal slandering complain done by the GM personally.

Staff were very attentive. Ordered the honey chicken burger and the size of the meal matched great value for price! I will be returning again :)

myself and bunch of my friends went yesterday ( august bank holiday ) the service and food was amazing, our waitress ( catlin) was brilliant at her job and deserved a tap on the back, our order very complicated and she was amazing, when sure if we change certain things on our orders she checked with chef, all of orders came out exactly how we ordered it. GOOD JOB, FOOD LOVELY AND STAFF FANTASTIC.

Horrible place full of drunks, rubbish everywhere outside and broken glass left sharpish

Stayed here for two nights, first night I had crispy squid and Fahitas, second night I had crispy squid because it was very nice and 12oz rump steak, cooked exactly how I asked, great service from the team, they are all very friendly and polite, the rooms are nice, they could do with a little freshen up in some areas, but nothing of concern, i enjoyed dining in the garden which is very nice, I've already booked a two night stay in October, Great!

Menu isn't great if you're counting calories, no salmon available, so had grilled chicken. Wasn't exactly busy but slow service.

I have to say the food was amazing and better than your average pub grub, and i do give the food 5 stars! However, the service is the reason for 3 stars, it was a very quiet sunday afternoon, when we arrived we were greeted by the manager, who sat us down and gave us the menues. Food was ordered and came out quick. However, side orders were missed, and no server was around to ask where they were. The manager then noticed us looking around and got the side orders out quickly, apologised, and took them off the bill. No one came to check to see how the food was or if we needed any other drinks. After food, we did want dessert. However, it took 40 minutes for the server to offer us a desert menu and then never came back after, after wating nearly an hour to order, we decided to give up and go else were, we had to pay at the bar with the manager and decided to go and get a McFlurry and drinks from McDonald's in the end. Was such a shame as the food was good!

Went to cocked hat today, great serves by Morgan. Everyone is so polite and helpful.Great food. Gluten free can be different going for a meal some places however there was a full menu with plenty of options. Fully recommend

Grate pub for food and drink friendly staff with no drama grate place for a drink after work

We popped in on a Thursday night around 19:00ish. The staff were great in their interactions with us and have no problems with how we were served by them. Compared to other Greene King pubs this is one of the worst/average restaurants in the chain that we have tried. The food took an age to come out and was lukewarm when it did to the extent I returned my pie and chips. The fajitas just looked sad. Three wraps included equated to one normal size wrap you would have at home. The chicken that went in the wrap was basic chicken slices rather than actual chicken pieces. None of which would have been an issue if we hadn't been charged premium prices. The pub is hidden behind a hedge and it seems out of sight out of mind in terms of quality. A real shame as it has so much potential and compared to other pubs in the chain a real let down.

Liam and Morgan were brilliant.

Came here for the football, food was okay, car park had window glass on the floor indicating cars might have been broken into.

Have stayed a few times as visiting family. Never fails to impress. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Always had a good night sleep. Hairdryer, fan, iron and ironing board avail. Breakfast is very nice plentiful and tasty. Staff very friendly. Only niggle is slip mats needed for bath /shower as quite slippy. Didn't realise avail on request. Will request next time. We'll done all

I ordered the crispy squid and crispy chicken burger took an hour to arrive.the squid had no flavour and was very Chewie and the chicken was dry will not be going back.

The rooms are nice and the food is lovely. Really friendly staff who are happy to help. The hotel is also fully dog friendly unlike some your dog is welcome in the bar area. Thr restaurant area is kept dog free

AVOID! The food is absolutely disgusting, Sunday dinner turkey wet slop, frozen potato’s, frozen veg and rock hard Yorkshire pudding. My daughter’s sausages very pale and sloppy clearly not cooked! My son I ordered a gluten free chicken burger, it arrives with not batch just the chicken and burnt bacon. When asked “ oh sorry we didn’t realise we had not bun” honestly I would not recommend this place to a pig! No discount offered or apologies to how our food was presented! We worst of all we had to wait over an hour for that slop.

Service was ok and didn't spend the night there to no about the rooms but it's 2 times been there now and both times significant amount of things on the menu they didn't have even chips and beef burgers which I believe to be very basic. For this reason we will not be going a 3rd time.

Lovely meal last Saturday , 4 ribeye steaks cooked to perfection , hats off to the shef ash and our server Kai was very polite and helpful will be returning .

I visited today with my family and had a fantastic meal.the service was outstanding. I had the roast dinner and cauliflower cheese the portions were sufficient., with just enough room for a chocolate brownie. Will definitely visit again especially with the summer months ahead.

We went with all family for a lunch , ordered Sunday roast meals. The gravy is too salty , not recommend to anyone.

Only went for lunch. Food was OK. Service could have been better.

We’ve ordered burgers and cheesy garlic bread. Waited for over 45 minutes and then we’ve asked when our food will come. Burgers were brought to us shortly after asking, but have been told by the waiter that the garlic bread will be with us soon. Overall, food was alright, but we finished eating our burgers, and the garlic bread was nowhere to be seen. Staff seemed unbothered. Wouldn’t recommend.

Food was serviceable but the service was terrible. Well over 90 minutes after ordering we still had a hungry child and no sign of am apology or anything else. It's to be expected from these pub chains I suppose.

Very friendly service, did have to wait quite a while for food but quality was excellent.

Ordered a mixed grill. Chicken was like rubber. Steak was overcooked. Didn't see the server again after she brought the meal out or I would have asked for it to be recooked. Finally a different lady brought some women to a table so I asked for the bill, Paid and left. Won't be back. I would have been able to order and pay on the app had a single table been numbered. No vinegar on the tables, no mayonnaise, but daughter's food served with coleslaw? Strange all round really.

Easy food and the waiting staff were polite. My only gripe would be the waiting staff trying to remove plates while the table was still eating.

In short: It’s bad. Like, really bad; makes Wetherspoons seem like paradise. This is a sinking ship. I work supplying the pub trade and I can tell you that this pub is in deep trouble. The food is horrific, the dining area is filthy and most of the staff cannot be bothered. Allergy information is as basic as it could possibly be. No list of ingredients. I asked for a beer so naturally the waitress listed lagers. When I asked for proper beer she froze and eventually came up with an IPA; let’s face it, an IPA is only on the cusp of being a proper ale. The pub is owned by Green King. They’re a brewery. So where is all the Green King ale? Who knows? I imagine that this place is surviving by serving lunches to OAP’s shopping at the B&Q next door. Supplying pubs for 10 years has given me enough experience to say that you should not go anywhere near here. If Green King is competent and they become aware of the conditions at this pub, it will shut for renovation immediately along with a mass firing.

Hotel in need if some TLC but the breakfast has been spot on. The poached eggs have been the best I’ve ever had. Big thank you to Tina for her hospitality it was lovely to have a friendly face and chat every morning whilst being away from home for the week. ☺️

Firstly, the order was taken wrong so one of the meals brought to our table was wrong. This wasn’t ideal as there was a very long 1 hour wait for the meals when the pub did not seem to be very busy at all. We were not brought cutlery and had to find condiments ourselves and not once were asked how the food was. Would not recommend. One star is just because it’s dog-friendly

Went for Christmas dinner … what a nightmare , It’s probably easier to just list the issues - arrived .. cutlery was dirty - starter was nice, no dramas - 1 hour later main arrives (Xmas dinner) - this is where is all goes wrong - no Turkey on dinner 🤦🏽‍♂️😂 - when Turkey arrive it was so dry - veg under cooked - gravy salty Would definitely not recommend!
