Lovely hotel, fantastic rooms and in the middle of nowhere, unfortunately they do not do evening food or drink, breakfast is self service

The room was great, I had a large room with a 4 poster bed, spa bath, and shower. The views were spectacular, and the staff were brilliant right up to my second night, where I was left in the reception for over 40 minutes. I rang the bell several times and rang the phone number 4 times in 20 mins before someone texted me to say they were out. After several messages and a further 20 mins, I was finally told where to find me key in a cupboard.

I stayed here last night with a lady friend snd I really enjoyed it. This is such a quirky little hotel with bags of charm. Definitely one to experience rather than me trying to explain it to you. If you like things a little on the eccentric side then this is for you.

On arrival check in was 4pm. We got there after a long drive about 3.40pm and was told we are abit early. So we waited in reception which was extremely dusty. For the 20 minutes we waited I could hear the owner arguing with someone on the phone about money. Once we got in the room first impressions looked nice , but stains on the duvet. Bathroom tap on the wall hanging off dust every where Yellowed stained pillow case. If you need a member of staff you have to call off your mobile as there is no one around. Breakfast was really nice. The grounds look worn and in need of attention. The place is ok for a one night stay however I wouldn't stop there again. Faulty towers springs to mind.

A characterful hotel that served our purpose excellently. It was quiet when we stayed. The staff were very friendly; I assume the owner and a relation were who we dealt with. The price for B&B was excellent, the breakfast was good; best sausages ever I've had in any hotel! The room was large, however, the hot water tap didn't work on the wash basin. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant for evening meals but The Secret Garden pub is a six minute walk away and serves food in the evening.

Our 2nd year staying here for valentines night checked in late and host was lovely as ever very welcoming our room was the alan suite it was cosy and warm the bathroom was amazing with shower and jacuzzi bath, bed was a little firm for me but my partner loved it thats just down to preference i like my soft memory foam haha breakfast was lovely even tho running out of afew items the host was accommodating and went and made us fresh of what we wanted we are very happy and shocked to read so many picky reviews for the price of this beautiful place we would happily come back xx Bella & John
