Munchies St Marys Place in Newcastle upon Tyne

As the Libyan guy visiting Munchies with my Bengali brother, we had an unforgettable experience! We ordered two slices of the Meat Feast pizza, which were absolutely delicious, served warm, and packed with rich, halal meats. The flavors were incredible, especially with the garlic sauce that the incredibly generous boss offered. The young staff member treated us like family, and the gentleman at the counter, also from an Arabic background, was welcoming and friendly. The shop was spotless, the food was incredibly affordable, and overall, there was nothing to fault. Munchies truly exceeded our expectations!

Been using munchies for over 15 years paying near the same price for certain foods except for today 16th October and the wraps have gone up in price even though the sign above their door has been there longer than the younger staff. £4 is worth for what's inside a wrap now they charge over £5 piss taking greedy cnuts. Not amused 😐

BAD SHAWRMA EXPERIENCE. Tried the shawarma and really enjoyed it, so started to have it regularly, however quality has definitely dropped. And recently got food poisoning from them; the CHICKEN IN THE SHAWRMA HAD GONE OFF! Had a horrible rest of the day

We bought 2 chicken shaorma. Good price and good food.

Shwarma wrap was dreadful. Service was bad. Guy just decided my salad choices for me and I got the smallest amount of chicken. £5.50 despite being much better places than this for same price.

They think about money, not quality. I got a chicken shawarma wrap, oh my god, it was the worst food I've ever eaten in my whole life. I couldn't eat the pieces of chicken. Or it was more that unfortunately they freeze it and then give it to the customer, which made me feel sick.

Amazing food, great service, I recommend the pizza and the chicken shawarma. The customer service is top notch, highly recommend!

Used to be good but gone right downhill. Charging extra for garlic sauce, advertising tandoori wraps and then giving some rubbish from a packet. Shame, used to be good.

Have been here a few times now, food is delicious, staff are so generous and lovely, and incredible value for money. Chicken shwarma is great. Definitely recommend.

Ordered a kofte wrap with chips and garlic sauce. Was delicious. However this was the smallest wrap I've ever had. Was waiting for the metro, there was a 3 minute wait. The wrap was dusted before the metro arrived and I'm not a quick eater. Would've give 5 stars if it wasn't for the stingy portion.

The food is average but the employees are disrespectful.

Very nice pizza but to be fair, I was quite drunk. That said, shared it with the daughter who wasn't drunk in the slightest and she liked it too. She probably would liked some of the kebab off the top an all but I ate that before she got the chance. The mug.

They just renovated recently and Its quite good now I had a doner wrap and it was nice. Will definitely come back to try more things on the menu Update 1: went back and had a chicken shawarma with rice. For £6.50 i think super worth, they give you a side of fries or salad and a special chili Update 2: Their pizzas have a thick soft bread crust so unless you like that probably don't get their pizzas. The Kofte wrap is good but for that price I don't think its worth. Go for the chicken shawarma for £3 if you want something fast and cheap, but the best thing on their menu I have to say is the chicken shawarma and rice

Very nice restaurant, the food is delicious, hygiene is excellent, on top of that it’s near the bus stop and Haymarket Station.. I ordered 2 chicken wraps and they were awesome and the prices is reasonable.. will come again definitely😊 thank you.

Great food,one of the best kebabs I've ever had

Decent Kebab, perfectly acceptable post night out. Nuggets were slightly underwhelming but the chips made up for it.

Not sure what has happened to this place, it used to be good but has went downhill. Is a shame as for a time it was good and the staff were canny. I haven't been since the last time I was there a few years ago when I got a pizza which was salty as hell, my friend asked for some sauce and instead of ketchup it was some weird pink looking sauce that didn't taste good! We had went hoping to get chips with curry sauce that night but they had stopped doing that. I think round this time they were sharing the shop with a Chinese takeaway so not sure what the hell has happened!

Absolutely disgusting food. Had to throw it away. Burnt, Dry & Inedible.

Used to be great but has since fallen from grace. They don’t appear to have cleaned the place properly in about 10 years. Interior has been half built, or half destroyed (can’t tell which) for some time now. This place is one of the rare exceptions where you could get a kebab after 5 pints and regret it before you wake up the next morning. Avoid.

Asked for a kebab wrap and a chicken wrap And watched them make two kebab wraps. When I said that one was meant to a chicken wrap, the fella wrote “kebab” on one of them. When I pointed out they were both kebab wraps, he smiled and proclaimed “enjoy” before scuttling off. I was about to miss the last bus so just had to take what I was given. A small side note; I asked for chilli and garlic sauce on both, one had garlic sauce and the other had no sauce at all. Also took an age despite being very quiet. The only other people in were a handful of posh bairns. I think they’ll be calling daddy when they get home and find out their pizza boxes actually contain hedgehogs. Very poor munchies. Previously a great late night scran spot, now firmly off the list. I mean, there’s literally a takeaway next door who can at least cope with a simple order! Avoid.

I come in most nights after work if I haven’t had any dinner, I really rate it. It’s a shame that I don’t see much business for munchies when I’m always satisfied with the food and service. 10/10 x

Come here almost once every weekend. Always quick service, friendly staff and great food.

Called in not long after opening, no one in. Got a donner and a chicken kebab, both very nice and chilli sauce was lovely. Good service, but interior could do with a spruce up. Other than that all good.

ordered food, waited 2 hours for it to arrive and eventually gave up and went to the shop for them to be arsey and tell us to leave saying they’re closed? shocking attitudes and never received the food

Very gummy kebab wrap, not worth the long wait, fairly expensive and stingy portion. Unpleasant interior with tables full of grime and leftovers despite staff members were free and could tidy up. Smooth and easy to order, everything else needs improving.

Been going to Munchies for years but tonight so disappointed asked for Chicken kebab and salad and chips. got chips bulking kebab up and a portion of chips.

Order not delivered, phone line unplugged so can’t get in touch with them. 2 hours later than when I ordered it still says ‘preparing’. Will not be using again.

Ok for a late night supper. If your drunk. Mind you the pizza was very nice. Cash only...

Food was good and so was the service until we sat inside for 45 mins waitiing, thought it was normal with it being a busy night but after 25 mins 3 rats ran out intermittently, said we wanted to leave the food but the shop wouldnt let us and said they'd phone the police if we didnt pay, ended up laying £15 for food we left due to rats and mold, would not advise.
