Subway in Newcastle upon Tyne

Me and a disabled friend go in to this branch once or twice a week to eat. Generally because it’s a bit better for us than KFC, McDonalds or the slew of other fast food chains in the vicinity. Gotta watch the bod! Food is fine and the staff are friendly enough. Not sure what the other reviewers did to get a different reaction but they’ve always been sweet with me and my mate. The staffing could be a lot better during busier periods, and it seems Subway is taking notice as I’ve seen new faces being trained up over the last few weeks. To the blonde girl who works there (you know who you are!) One of these days I’ll work up the courage to ask you out (I’m not stupid, I know you’re out of my league), cause I think you’re gorgeous. I think you know I like you cause I’ve been told I go a nice shade of red when you’re around. So when I do, I want you to know I’m being 100% serious!

Lad with buzzed hair who served me was really sound. Great customer service.

Worker was rude to me and my friend. He made my sandwich while acting all huffy and treating me like nuisance, I just assumed I was reading him wrong until he actually rolled his eyes at me while I was scanning my app. Will not come back here, hope he’s fired.

Food was lovely and staff were very patient and friendly towards my indecisive dad

3 staff while there's a queue. Two staring at the till doing nothing while one bloke non-verbally takes orders. Incredible levels of poor work rate.

Worst experience didn’t keep the curtnery in this branch how people eat their food

I used to wonder how restaurants and food chains handle dishwashing, whether it's done properly or not. Today, all my doubts disappeared when I saw a girl doing dishes at this store today at around 1, she was doing it so thoroughly, scrubbing and rinsing them. I must say, I felt relieved. When I spoke to her, I learned that she doesn’t work at that store but at another one. I forgot to ask her name, but I'll just call her the Bandana Girl. Just wanted to appreciate her

It's actually crazy how bad this store is. The staff are total zombies, they will give you the wrong bread, put on the wrong sauce and then act annoyed when you want it corrected. They make a habit of sending a member of staff out on a break over the lunch rush meaning there is usually only one person serving at the busiest times. The staff just sit and chat in back of house, clearly visible to the enormous queue waiting to order. I've never seen anything like it.

I've been back a few times since I wrote my first review and the service has improved massively. A big improvement and the staff are a lot better. Great level of customer service.

This place is rubbish. Very bad experience. Staff chilling at customer tables. One of them was very rude definitely not recommended. No wonder this place is almost always dead .

Great service, hygienic and swifty although they could be more generous on the salad section as she only put 4 pickes in my foot long. I ordered 3 foot longs without salad and 2 with salad. Great variety of sauces.

It was just Tom behind the counter and he absolutely smashed it, 10/10.

Whoever made my order needs sacked! Ordered a mega meat salad, not one bit of meat. Steak nachos,no cheese. Deliveroo offered 20% refund. Joke

Says on the door they are open til 8.30 on a Thursday. Went in at 8 and told they were closed.

Most useless place ever, can’t even get a salad right, no contact number and total incompetent employees. Don’t waste your money here

Served pretty quick just a very poor selection to choose from as well as no crisps and no sugar

Fantastic service. Asked for gluten free and the lady made sure everything was clean before making my sandwich and was really polite and helpful

Absolutely awful customer service, service was slow and only one staff member serving while the queue was massive. Staff seemed to be rushing around and confusing me when asking for my food, they also didn't ask of I wanted any extras and I didn't ask for any myself due to being anxious because of the way the staff were going on, had to wait ages for my hash browns too as the staff were rushed. They also didn't have a great crisp selection and the wraps are also puny and not worth the money. Will not be going back!!

The guy i was served by was excellent and we had a really good conversation in the process where I was able to use my 1000 points for a free foot long too.

Not sure why my review was removed... so im posting it again. Im sure the sandwiches in the shop are lovely, and that most of the staff here are nice too, but the one guy there is suffering from serious lazyitus. After waiting outside for 15 mins for the shop to clear, (only 5 people allowed in at a time- so took 15 mins to serve 2 people) I was able to queue inside. There were only 3 people in front of me but the queue was taking forever to go down... The guy who was serving seemed to be new and was taking longer, which was fine, but the other guy spent the 10 mins i queued inside washing the same tray over and over leaving his colleague to struggle along. I don't think this guy knows what teamwork is! After waiting half hour outside and in, I left and went to the Subway down the road where the ladies were really quick, seemed happy and worked as a team. I feel sorry for the rest of the team at this place if they have to put up with this guy (blonde guy) doing sod all while they put in double the work. If this guys working, id head down the road and save your time.

Very professional and pleasent staff food good too

Food was typical Subway, I got what I expected. The single staff member serving people was trying to manage the queue to the best of her ability, but a Monday lunch time in the centre of a city should have a minimum of 2 members of staff serving customers!

Sliced meat in a bun covered in everything. Missy nice.

This location is great. Love going there. The staff are always nice, food is fresh and the location is fresh and quiet. Great escape from work.

Hoy entré en el metro en una calle más grande de Newcastle upon Tyne para comprar una ensalada y una Coca dietética. Estoy en una dieta y tratando de perder peso. ¡Puedes imaginar mi total sorpresa cuando me ofrecieron una bolsa de patatas fritas para hacer mi compra 20 p más barata! ! ! En esta época en la que todos se quejan de tener sobrepeso, el factor del azúcar y la cantidad de alimentos poco saludables que comemos, es correcto que el metro promueva las patatas fritas.

Hebben heerlijk genoten van onze verse broodjes die wij zelf mochten samenstellen , wat fris erbij en een gratis koek / chips om het af te maken .Genieten !!

We hadden wat bekende broodjes gehaald. de Winkel zag niet schoon uit, binnen wel. Broodjes waren redelijk en zoals bekend prijzig.

Came in here for a late lunch but it was really busy and it was a little messy in the seating area, but the 6" flatbread was delicious, and i love the coffee.
