Munchies in Aylesbury Vale

The food use to be really good we live in Waddesdon and was our first choice for a takeaway dunno what it is if the changed the chef or the recipes but not as good as before we had tikka masala use to be a lovely red colour now is orange and flavourless

Always good service and very tasty food

Disappointing. Had a mixed starter, which had some really poor quality ‘lamb’, half was inedible as you just couldn’t chew it. Chicken was very dry and really didn’t taste of much. Have ordered many times from Munchies, but this will be the last I am afraid

The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and provides a good setting for casual dining, with friendly and attentive service that enhances the dining experience. However, there are some noticeable areas for improvement, particularly regarding food quality. During our visit, we ordered the Paneer Tikka and Chicken Tikka, expecting freshly prepared tandoori dishes with authentic flavors. Unfortunately, both dishes seemed to lack the freshness associated with traditional tandoori cooking. The texture and taste suggested they might not have been freshly cooked but instead pre-prepared and reheated, which took away from the expected quality. Additionally, the dishes contained an excessive amount of artificial red coloring, which not only impacted presentation but also raised concerns about the ingredients used. The Paneer Mutter was also underwhelming; it lacked seasoning and had a bland flavor, missing the rich, layered spices typically found in this dish. For an establishment representing Indian cuisine, enhancing the authenticity and freshness of the dishes would help better showcase the vibrant flavors that Indian food is known for. With a few adjustments in food preparation practices, focusing on freshly cooked dishes and balanced seasoning, this restaurant has the potential to provide a much more authentic and enjoyable Indian dining experience.

Did not like the chicken curry. There was fish taste in it and did not feel like I am eating Indian food. Samosa was alright but not great too. This must be the worst chicken dish I have ever had. Sorry

Missing part of the order. Ruined the meal

First time ordering for quite some time and pleased to say the quality of food is still excellent at Munchies. My favourite Indian restaurant.

Very disappointing delivery. Chicken tikka - 4 very small pieces of chicken Korma - tasty sauce just no vegetables except 2 pieces of potato Small portions of rice Naan bread - no hint of garlic and very dry and crispy (thin in the middle almost burnt) Arrived cold considering I only live 2 minutes away must have been last on the delivery route.

I ordered a curry 3 days ago and today I’m suffering from food poisoning

I've used every Indian restaurant in Aylesbury. I always have the same meal (xtra hot chicken/lamb phaal), but Munchies is hands down the best of them. I only use this restaurant now. Great service, consistently great food.

The most delicious food and professional service, by far the best in Aylesbury

was outside munchies and witnessed the owner (female) being extremely abusive to a young girl and was being threatening. Bullying behaviour, doesn’t look good for the business very unprofessional.. whilst also drinking on the job.

Absolutely disgusting wouldn’t waste your time nor money on this place. AVOID!!!!!

Ordered for take out, was the first time ordering from this place found a hair in my food rang the restaurant the owner was abusive and rude down the phone she has no customer service skills at all, the food was disgusting and I won’t be returning very unprofessional.

we have lived in Aylesbury for 5 years and we have used munchies the whole time. We've tried others but they're either not as nice or inconsistent. Munchies food is always hot and delicious. they pay attention to any notes left on the order and far more often than not, they are early with delivery. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a quality and value for money Indian meal.

Overall a nice restaurant but may not be our top choice. We visited for a large family meal. The food was okay and we did finish most of it, but we didn't feel the food blew us away. As a big vegetarian group we ordered a variety of vegetable curries including Jalfrezi, Naga, Biryani, Tadka Dal, Saag Paneer, Mushroom Bhaji and Korma. All accompanied by Garlic and Plain Naans. Each dish did have a specific flavour but portions could have been a bit bigger (compared to other Indian restaurants in the Aylesbury area). We also felt some of the hotter dishes (spicy ones) seemingly had red food colouring and used more chilli powder rather than fresh chillis for heat. Dishes like the Korma felt a bit thick in consistency. One thing worth recommending is the Naans. They were delicious and really well made. Garlic Naan especially is worth a try. As Indians maybe the food isn't tailored for our taste (although at request dishes can be made 'desi' style) which we did find more authentic. In summary, not a bad option for an Indian meal but with plenty of other options around it may have tougher competition (try a takeaway from Elm Farm Tandoori or a meal out at Cafe Zeera in Wing for stronger more defined flavours in a similar laid back setting).

The Indian takeaway food from here used to be very good, however the last few times it has been poor. On Saturday (13th April) my sun and I ordered a chicken boona and a chicken dopiaza , aloo Gobi , mushroom rice and a nann bread. The chicken in both main dishes was dry and tasteless, the sauces were bland , no flavour spice or heat. The sides were okay. Sadly I won't be ordering anything from here again.

Absolutely brilliant night at Munchies last night. The food was incredible, the service was excellent and the staff were fun and friendly. The impromptu birthday singalong involving the entire restaurant was hilarious and great fun! Can't wait to come back!

Cracking little secret of Aylesbury. Can get busy, so be prepared to wait. But, if you go regularly, you'll always be found a table and accommodated

We are regular customer but tonight’s order was rather disappointing. It was lacking flavour and spices - the dansaak was too greasy. This is not what we are used to so we were disappointed and didn’t finish the meal.

Very tasty and was able to find my house food was hot still as well

When I ordered it said food would arrive by 7pm the app was saying enjoy your food even though it hadn’t arrived. I wrote down the order number was just about to phone up to find out where my order was when the driver turned up at about 7:20. Had to put the food in the microwave as it was cold when it arrived.

Ordered a takeaway for the second week on the trot, no matter what delivery time you enter they just bring it as soon as its ready and not at requested time which is annoying, the food is all good except the naan breads they are tiny and don’t taste as good as most Indian restaurants

The chicken in my curry dishes were very tough. The lamb was better. I'm not sure if I will be coming back in a hurry.

Food was a good portion size only problem is non of us had a hot as in 🌶️ nor spicy tasty meal most wanted a chilli dish seems they ran out of hot spices food was bland.

Update: Still just as great as always. Another epic take away meal tonight - hot and very tasty. There is no better take away in Aylesbury. 2018: We eat take away from here regularly, at least once a month. Tonight’s meal was even better than usual, simply delicious. This place just does amazing food. Couldn’t be more happy with our take away. Well done to whoever cooked our meal tonight.

Really surprised for the price how little the quantity of food we got. It was disappointing. The food was lukewarm and tasted okay. Won’t be ordering again.

Just wanted to say what a fantastic meal we had at Munchies on Saturday night, we are so lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep, flawless service, fabulous food. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, very helpful when people say “ I like it spicy but not too hot “, they come up with the perfect dish 😋. Thanks to Immy, Abz and Bublu for looking after us. Great evening with a group of work friends. There was a very good choice of food which was plentiful, extremely tasty and good value for money. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Wouldn't say it was luxurious but perfect for meeting with friends.

Always great food. The total lack of accurate tracking, makes me only order from here if absolutely necessary. I ordered veg kofta, so expected veg balls. Not what I received.

Good took 90 minutes to get to us and was cold when it arrived. We tried this place for the first time as it always looks popular when we see the restaurant however did not enjoy it and will stick to our usual going forward. The food being cold in arrival hasn’t helped there either

6 of us dined here on Friday 1st September, just have to say service was brilliant, food was piping hot and delicious, and served promptly, 5 of us ordered from the menu and one of us had a chat with the head chef Juell as he wanted a dish with his favourite ingredients, he wasn’t disappointed with what the chef came up with, reasonable pricing as well, we will certainly be back. Thanks Munchies 5 stars.

Collection order was ready earlier than estimated which was good. Staff were very friendly when we collected and gave us extra mint sauce to have with our popodums. Food was really tasty especially the lamb bhunna. Would definitely get food from here again

Switched here from kashmir after our deliveries went down hill and this place is fab. Big chunks of paneer and they make up a paneer tikka masala, the egg fried rice was lovely and peswari naan. All delivered and still steaming hot Very happy customer :)

Food was tasty. However a Tikka masala was missing. Called the restaurant and they said they would send one in 15 minutes but it was over 30 minutes later and we had already finished our meals. Shame as the food was very good but the lady was very apologetic and kind on the phone

Myself and my partner shared our 2 year anniversary together a week ago, joined by our baby boy. The staff were very friendly and polite. The food was exceptional, with baby also agreeing with the food as he also ate some of the food today! Will definitely be eating here again, hopefully before our 3 year anniversary!

We celebrate my mum's birthday and her wish was Indian cuisine. I have to say this is the best Indian restaurant in town! The waitter wad very professional and pay atention on details and the food was properly cooked to very high standard (we asked them for spicy) Definitely we will be coming back.

I am 8 and a half months pregnant and my chicken was pink so I couldn’t eat it, not only that I have been throwing up all night and had a bad belly, never eating from here again

Amazing food, foolishly I ordered to the wrong address but the restaurant quickly resolved for us. The food prep time was a little longer than hoped but this was advised when ordering and the food was delivered on time.
