Mumbai Maska in Waltham Forest

This restaurant is one of my now favourite locals to go to! I hosted my mums 60th birthday party here and it was just amazing. The staff, especially Sai, were all so helpful both prior to the party and on the evening of the event. I cannot praise their hard efforts and accommodation enough. They made sure everything went smoothly, they did everything I asked of them & more! My mums set up inside was beautiful - the decor inside this restaurant is perfect too! The food was absolutely brilliant and I would most certainly be hosting more parties there as well as still going as my local Indian dinner outing. They made sure I didn't have a single thing to worry about and it all went so smoothly.

This Indian restaurant has quite a different menu to many, all that we had was lovely, we will certainly returning, there are many dishes we would like try.

This was our 10th visit back to this 5* restaurant!! It just gets better and better!! The menu has something for everyone and if you’re fortunate to be served by either Ashita or Anoushka then your evening will be complete!! My husband spends so much time in India on business and has always loved the food but has never been able to find a true replica of the dishes he’s had until now!! If you really want the ‘real deal’ you HAVE to visit this gem in South Chingford!!! Lucky us!!!!!!!!!

GOOD FOOD. A VENUE TO CHIT CHAT WITH FRIENDS AND HAVE A GOOD TRADITIONAL MUMBAI CHAT ITEMS. THE PAV BHAJI - THE BUN IS BEEN MADE IN THEIR KITCHEN. ITS SO SOFT AND THE BHAJI WAS VERY YUMMY. AMIRTSARI FISH IS A MUST TRY.. COCKTAILS ARE AWESOME.. LONG ISLAND ICE TEA WAS GREAT!!

We went there to celebrate my husbands birthday. We ordered the trio chicken starter dish. When it arrived / usually with tandoori starters you will see it coming w smoke snd a nice charcoal smell. This came in a standard white plate like it had just been warmed up in the microwave, anyway we cut into it with struggle looked n and it was literally pink - uncooked. Absolutely DISGUSTING. The manager came over and said he would change it. We replaced it w a chilli chicken starter which was awful too. The chicken just felt like it was raw. We paid for our drinks and left. I had a good mind not to pay for that tbh. Do not waste your time in visiting this ordinary cafe style restaurant. Staff are rude, limit the time the table is for. All they want is you to order everything together.

I organised a surprise 50th birthday for my hubby and booked a table of 12, Sai was very helpful. He went out of his way to make this day very special for my husband . He even collected the balloons from the shop when I paid a day before. He offered to take pictures and videos of the birthday. The food was exquisite. The atmosphere is amazing…staff are very polite. Overall experience was excellent.

Our first visit to Mumbai Maska and the decor is very nice. Our waitress was very friendly but it was disappointing that neither of the lamb shank dishes nor the two dosa dishes were available. The food was delicious and full of flavour. However the service went downhill when the restaurant got busy and being a Saturday night it was very busy. There is a lot of staff but walking around not very effectively. Walking past diners sitting in front of empty dishes without clearing them. We had finished our main courses and were left sitting with our plates for at least 20 minutes, if not longer. Then a waiter came and cleared the empty wine bottle and wine glasses without asking whether we’d like to order any more and without taking the empty plates or food dishes. Eventually the waitress came to clear the plates and at the same time asked if we’d like any desserts, which we declined. Instantly she came with the bill and the card reader. Not really giving us a chance to study the bill as we were told that there was a group waiting for our table. It felt very rushed at the end and could have been made so much more pleasant if only someone had started clearing our table when we had finished eating and not 20+minutes later. We had also asked for the rice to be put into a container so we could take it home but were not given it as it was clear that once we paid there was no need to look after us. Because the food was so nice we would come back but definitely not on a weekend evening when it’s so busy and the staff are not paying attention or caring for their customers.

We have just discovered this place. Stunning Indian food really nice restaurant and bar. Interesting menu not your usual korma no it’s proper Indian cuisine. They also have a selection of street food dishes. And they also have a brunch menu also super delicious. Will definitely be returning.

As a family, we all agreed this was one of the best curry’s we had ever had the delight to eat. It’s a shame we were only in the area for a weekend, otherwise we would definitely be making weekly trips. The staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was amazing, and they pull a good pint. Highly recommend.

Mumbai Maska was recommended to me by a work colleague. Although a 35 - 40 minute drive away we thought we’d give it a try. We were so pleased that we did as the menu was refreshingly authentic and both food and service were excellent....
