Went today with my family, I had the steak and ale pie, my partner had the ultimate chicken burger and my 4 year old had cheeseburger and chips, it was DELICIOUS! really enjoyed our food, the service was really nice and everywhere was lovely and clean, I only managed take a photo of my dinner because my family tucked straight into it!. The chips were 👌

Came in for drinks and pool and it was great 👍🏼

Came here to celebrate our anniversary whilst on holiday, the server Charlotte was the absolute best we wish we had someone like her in the pubs back home. She was friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile to actually MAKE my dessert. I am vegan and instead of being judgemental and careless - as a lot of servers in places we have visited are - she was understanding and went out of her way to ensure my meals were perfect as were my partners. This gal deserves a raise!! Will definitely come back when we are in the area next.

Myself, sister and brother in law went to this establishment this evening and sad to say we will NOT be going again, I ordered the mega mix grill (rare with chips and peppercorn sauce), sister ordered a normal mix grill (rare and Diane sauce) and my brother in law ordered a burger with fries. Firstly it took a LONG time to come even though it wasn’t busy at all. Literally a handful of tables in. I did over hear a lady and her child close to us ask where her sons food was because it had been over 40 mins for a pizza and she had already eaten her meal. Once our food finally came, we didn’t have any knife or forks to eat with we had to ask for them which just seemed odd. So once we finally had our meals and finally had something to eat it with we tucked in. Only to find both the rare steaks were well done and could have quite easily kept the front door open for us to walk back out. The burger was burnt and the bun soggy. The gammon steak on the normal mix grill was undercooked (raw in the middle) but the gammon steaks on the mega was literally black and burnt. The peas were two different colours which indicates a mix of old peas and fresh peas being mixed together. There was no mushrooms on either mix grill but instead of asking us what our preference was as a replacement they just put extra onion rings on. I could literally keep going. It’s not all bad, the lady with blonde curly long hair on the bar completely handled the situation so professionally. She was kind and caring and looked as if she genuinely gave a shit. So well done and thank you to her. She offered me a replacement and/or alternative. As well as a free drink. A message to the owner/management team -where were you? The kitchen was clearly in need of help and support but I couldn’t see any of you in there taking charge as you should do and leading/supporting. Clearly you need to look at staffing levels because that poor lady with blonde hair I felt bad for her, you also need to look at your training programmes and put your chef on it. I dread to think what the chef produces if it got busy. If you have more nights like this you and your staff are going to be out of jobs because clearly a business can not keep its doors open while’s giving away so much revenue and wastage. We as a party were going to demand a full refund and walk out, the only thing that kept us from doing it was the fact of how hungry we were. Start taking pride in your business and giving shit because what we have witnessed tonight you clearly don’t.

Brilliant venue. Went for a gender reveal and had some lovely food. The place is clean and tidy and the bar staff were polite.

we had the roast paid decent amount of money and the beef was dry , gravy was like water , potatoes disintegrated , mash was good give them that , and waiting time was ridiculous .

Came for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Staff were pleasant and attentive, restaurant was clean and tidy and has a great atmosphere. Food was tasty, and arrived hot and promptly. I had the Hunters melt, wife had a tikka. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again.

I took my grandson for lunch. The young lad on "pizza duty" was so polite and attentive with my grandson. He helped him prepare his pizza and was patient with him explaining everything throughout. My baguette was perfect. What a wonderful young man. An asset to the pub.

Great burgers good service and lovely place

This wasn’t our first choice but glad we tried it. The staff were so polite and attentive. Food was great pub food and served quickly. Lovely choice of back ground music.

Bar was quiet plenty of staff wandering around doing very little at times. Quite a few non staff wandering in and out of kitchen area including a child? Table wasn't clean properly, sticky top. Did contemplate leaving but thought we would give it a chance...Food service was ok nothing exciting but was cooked well and tasted good.

Called in for a quick dinner on the way home and was not disappointed. We were greeted by the friendly barman Josh who was lovely. We had the sirloin steak, Dave the chef cooked it to perfection, I have to say it’s the best cooked steak I’ve had for a while (and I can be picky), Scarlet our waitress, was friendly and helpful. My son had the cheese and tomato pasta which he loved and my nephew had the cowboy burger (which I was tempted to steal). All in all not a bad Monday. Will definitely be visiting again. The cowboy burger was really nice, comes with burger sauce and the patty is decent quality highly recommend the cowboy burger. Asked halfway through how the meal was and the people are really kind

Popped in after a visit to Peak Wildlife to finish the day nicely for the kids....Pizza night and they loved it despite the odd shaped pizza 😂🍕....shows its handstretched. Service was great too.

The food was nice , but items such as the chicken gravy was missed from our order after taking an hour for a few Burges to be made , then dessert again, the wait time for a fudge cake and 2 ice creams

The wife and myself went for Saturday lunch, we both had an open sandwich. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly and exactly how I asked for it the pepper and red onion were also delicious and perfectly cooked. The roll was soft and fluffy with plenty of melted cheese. The wife had the Tuna melt which again was plentiful, well cooked and nicely presented. Both meals were served with chips. Everything was cooked fresh which meant the wait was a little longer than anticipated, however the food was worth waiting for. The staff are attentive, polite and professional and the establishment is spotlessly clean. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻

The blond bar lady was great but everything else was below standards. Stone cold food , beer flat like the lines haven't been cleaned due to laziness. Definitely gone down hill .

Not the best visit and probably will not visit again. We waiting an hour for our food to arrive (there must have been 5 tables max) both starters and mains were brought out together. The wrong things were brought out, the food was luke warm and didn’t look very appealing. Chips were burnt to a crisp, one of the sides was sent out wrong. Overheard another couple also complain about a couple of things also.

Visited Sunday. Plus points: the kids enjoyed the pool, the darts & the toy grab machine. If you just want fried / oven baked food it’s fine & the chef, waiter, bar manager were pleasant / friendly What could be better: No fresh food at all (everything out of a freezer bag) No salad garnish for presentation No strawberries (when advertised) Dough balls didn’t ooze mozzarella & were frankly disappointing Nice ice cream off kids menu & good value Halumi fries & mushrooms were nice Wouldn’t take much to really improve / lift the quality as it’s a nice enough pub & the children had fun

A very dead pub. Don't expect to be seated or have someone take your order. Be prepared to wait over an hour for food even though there are only 3 small tables in. We had cowboy burgers with pulled pork, cheesy garlic bread and the mozzarella cheese bites. The burgers were good, especially with the pulled pork. The fries that came with the burger were not edible. They snapped into dust, there was no potato inside the crispy overdone outer layer. The garlic bread was slimey and solid, you couldn't take a bite out of it. We complained at the bar, and after waiting 15 minutes to be served we were given a partial refund by the apologetic bar man. Overall if you're popping in for a pint an alright quiet pub, I wouldn't come here for a food again.

On entering, the pub was clean and tidy and smelt fresh. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The food was hot and tasty and looked lovely.

Food wait for an empty space way too long and when food finally arrived was not very pleasant, burger buns were burnet, chips over cooked and rock solid, do not recommend food.

The service and food have improved massively!

I booked a table for my husband and i for 6.30 pm.We walked in to the pub and waited 10 mins for anyone to come to the bar.There was not any members of staff on the bar or dining area.Finally a gentleman came out from the back i said we booked a table he asked our name then just set off walking away we just followed not instructing us to the table not even please follow me !!!!so we sat at our table the man disappeared again.My husband then when up the bar to get drinks and menus .Well 10 mins later still nobody to serve us not a sole to be seen.I was extremely disappointed at this kind of service we left .Know one even saw us leave except the other diners which said i dont blame you for leaving .The place was empty only a few tables and people were not happy .Well considering you are under new managment good luck with that .We will not return again.

The young man who served us was very courteous, friendly and efficient. Our food arrived quickly. It was of good quality and a good sized portion. We had an extremely relaxing evening with good food in a pleasant setting.

Cracking pub went out with a couple of friends and ended up here food was great and the staff were very welcoming will be coming here again

What a lovely place! The staff were all friendly and helpful, the food was beautiful and the pedigree ale was spot on. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals either. We'll definitely be visiting again.

The service was slow. My husband had the wrong meal sent out. The hunter chicken that I had ordered tasted horrible. The chicken tasted like it had been in the freezer.for too long and it had a very strange taste

Dreadful experience. Only came to feed our children after visiting Alton towers. They gave our food to someone else. Then brought food that we didn’t order. We were just about to get a refund when some of the food came out but not all of it. It was very quiet so really no excuse. Didn’t even apologise

where to start …. we came into this pub after a walk in the local area . 3 meals were ordered and all 3 had a seperate issue. the loaded fries were stone cold which we had to ask to be heated up and even then came back out luke warm . a steak which was asked for well done with fries rather chips came out raw and pink more like rare and with normal chips. the hunters chicken was tougher than mike tyson with absolutely no sauce, the steak was sent back to us cut open in half cremated and crispy ! the veg had evidently been re-microwaved as all shriveled and looks like it’s a week past it’s sell by date . to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. knowing that we were left unsatisfied no compromise was made not a refund mentioned or anything of the sorts , very very dissapointed. now got a 2 hour drive home with stomach aches all round!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice pub staff friendly just feet the food wasn't the best . The cheese potato pie felt like cat sick couldn't eat it . The starter to share wasn't the best as well. Sucky 😔

I came into the Mulberry Leaves earlier this week, it was me, my husband and our two little boys. The minute we walked in all our noses were all filled with the smell of burned food and dampness. We waited to be shown to our table for almost 15 minutes as no staff came to help us. We had originally booked a table for four but when a member of staff finally showed up to assist us we were informed that there was no bookings nor was there a table available. I knew this place wasn’t ran correctly as when I looked around I could easily see 3-4 tables free. We were offered a wait time of 10 minutes or we could leave but because our kids were hungry and getting very easily aggravated we decided to wait. 10 minutes then turned into 35. When we were finally showed to a table (that had very obviously not been cleaned) we were handed menus and left to figure out what we wanted for 20 minutes. When a waitress came to take our orders she was very rude and almost intimidating towards me and my family, we told her what we wanted and how we wanted it to be and then proceeded to sit there waiting for nearly an hour. We had no food and not even any drinks. When it finally arrived we were missing a side of chips, an extra egg, sauces and a jacket potato meal. When I brought up the issue we got told they would sort it right away and AGAIN we were left waiting. At this point me and my wife were furious because not only were we hungry we also had two very hangry toddlers. The problem never got resolved and when we went up to pay and told the cashier about said problem they didn’t say nor do anything about it. We were charged an extra £17. I didn’t want to cause any other problems mainly for my own good because I would’ve gotten very angry and said things I shouldn’t say to these people. Will NOT be returning, nor will I be bringing this up for a recommendation.

We visited with two young children. The high chair was filthy. My two year old refused to sit in it! My 5 year old wanted pizza and we were told they weren’t doing pizza that day - nothing on the menus said they weren’t and the menus were still on the table. So then we had crying from him. Despite the pub being empty and only two other people eating at the time, we had to wait ages for our meals which meant the children were restless. My husband ordered salmon and it was raw in the middle and had to be sent back. We were offered no compensation for this - no free drinks or anything. My children have allergies and wanted ice cream for dessert so we ordered two vegan ice cream. Only to be later told that they had no vegan ice cream. This meant I had to take the two year old to the car so her brother could have ice cream to avoid tantrums. At this point my husband had only just started his meal. The service was terrible and to have no compensation and barely even a sorry for the terrible service was ridiculous. We will not be returning.

An absolutely delightful experience, Took my dear mum today for a lovely Sunday roast dinner, The chef is a magician with food. It was delicious with a capital D 😋 👌

Came with my family last week. Greeted by friendly faces behind the bar. The staff were very helpful. We ordered food which were very tasty and plenty of it. I opted for the mega mixed grill which were mega! Great value for money and all the kids were happy. We will definitely be back!!!

The pub with no beer! No beer on draught, no bottles of Shiraz as alternative, no hot chocolate or mocha coffee to follow. The food was Okay but the management of this pub needs looking at! Very poor. 👎

Came here a year ago the food was fantastic, this time however was a very different and disappointing experience, hunters chicken was dry with no sauce left, two mixed grills one had an inch of dry chicken the other had no gammon, the ultimate burger was ok, all the chips were soaked in grease and when broken in two the grease ran out, the under 1 sausage and mash with carrots was bigger than the mixed grill meal. Asked to speak to the manager/chef he wasn’t interested, wouldn’t come to the table to see the food and went back into the kitchen. We didn’t pay and won’t be returning which is a shame because the bar man was friendly and accommodating and the last time’s experience was positive

Although there seemed to be only one front of house staff member, the service was impeccable. The young lady worked extremely hard and was polite and helpful. The food was, as always, excellent. I was slightly disappointed that part of the Marston's chain had not a single hand pulled beer.

Stopped here for a couple of drinks on the way home from a party with a few friends. Lovely looking place and friendly manager (think he was the manager). We played a few games of pool and they also have dart boards. Only minor fault I would say is the pool/darts area is a tad cramped if you are wanting to have a few games. Even if only one table is being used. Tis a dog friendly place as well because we saw dog bowls and blankets in the entrance way which I think is awesome 😁. Need to come back and try the food in the future.

Really poor service, despite booking a table (specifically for food) which showed available, we got ready and made the trip to the pub only to be told you weren't doing food.

Unfortunately, it appears to have been an effort for the staff to be interested. A table was booked, but the staff seemed to have no clue about it. Slow service, no wine glasses, poor food, and it was not even full. Lad at the bar was not even sure how to work the cash register.

We came here for Christmas dinner and we arrived pre booked pre ordered at 1pm all sorted.On arrival it took an entire hour our starters to come out and this didn't happen until we asked where they were and we were told the preorder of EVERYONE is gone and we need to re order barring in-mind this cost the four of us just over £200 we then finished starters waited half an hour for the plates to be cleared and then waited another hour on top of this for our mains to come which again even though now our order is sorted we did not get them until we asked where they were, all while this was happening another group who the chefs seemed to be friends with came in and got their food immediately despite them not booking or pre ordering. It was not just us having this issue many people were walking into the kitchen asking what was happening the table next to us after waiting 3 hours for nothing even left.I am empathetic that it is Christmas and no one wants to be working today but if it is not going to be something that works or is staffed they should not have let us and everyone else book in and waste so much time and money.

We booked a table online but they didn’t seem to have any record or knowledge of it. The table we were seated at had no menus of any kind and was sticky. No one explained to us about ordering at the bar. The young man at the bar Paul didn’t seem to have very good knowledge of the till and made us aware how much he hated it. He struggled to put our order through and complained as he did it. No wine glasses, no alcohol free beers. We waited almost 45mins for our meals, we all had just mains. The restaurant was busy on our arrival but definitely cleared out before we ordered. Also I would expect better service on a Saturday afternoon. After about 35mins a young girl. Are to our table to ask us if we wanted peas with our pies. Well, the menu states they come with peas so, yes. We then waited a further 10minutes after this for our meals to arrive. When our food did arrive we were not given any cutlery and had to ask for it, they brought an extra meal that no one ordered and we were not offered any sauces or condiments, neither were we informed where they were. The 3 pies we had were fine, the chicken burger was disappointing. The cowboy burger was ordered without bacon and without cheese and came with it anyway. And the ultimate spicy burger came with nothing. Bit of a mix up there. The burger bun on the cowboy burger was very clearly burnt and hard. The spicy burger was extremely dry. For 6ppl to come and eat and have drinks it was a pretty poor experience, it was meant to be a lovely festive get together. All I can say is it’s a good job no one had low bloody sugar as by the time the food arrived everyone was ravenous and would have eaten a scabby dog! It’s a shame as when we came here not long after opening we had a selection of good experiences and this most recent visit had made it clear we won’t be coming again. We probably would have gotten better service and quality from the new McDonald’s next door

A pub without beer 😕 There were a dozen or so taps but all out of commission, so it was just generic lagers on sale. Ordered nachos to share as well. Took an age for the nachos to arrive, and we were a bit unimpressed by the very stingy portion of guacamole on top. It was basically a £10 portion of nacho crisps. 😕 The staff were friendly enough but we won't be heading back.

We had made a daytime reservation for an evening meal, but upon our arrival and visit to the bar, we encountered a waitress who exhibited a consistently rude demeanour from the moment we engaged with her. Without any trace of an apology or even a polite explanation, she curtly informed us that walk-ins were not accommodated. Attempting to clarify our reservation, my husband explained our prior booking, yet she remained unresponsive and simply reiterated the presence of large group reservations. I managed to locate our booking confirmation on my phone and presented it to her, to which she begrudgingly retreated to the kitchen. Upon her return, she grudgingly offered to find us a table, but with the caveat that due to their busy evening, certain menu items, such as steak, chicken, and children's meals, were unavailable. A glance at the menu revealed limited options remaining. Throughout this exchange, there was a conspicuous absence of any courtesy or attempts at customer service. Ultimately, it was the discourteous demeanour of this individual that left us with an easy decision to dine elsewhere. The four of us left quite promptly as she shrugged and turned away. Our prior visits had not been exceptional, but this recent encounter solidified our resolve to avoid returning, and we would caution our friends and family to do the same.

Burger was lovely! Great food Great atmosphere, friendly staff! Highly recommend

Sprouts were not very nice veg was a bit hard

A wonderful experience from beginning to end, in the lovely town of Leek, in a very attractive building, this pub welcomes you with open arms! A very friendly waitress, Channelle, welcomed us upon arrival and made our visit incredibly warm and welcome, nothing was too much and Channelle’s attention to detail was most excellent and impressive! A well kept cellar & bar made for quality and well kept drinks. The meal was magnificent, absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and just as requested by master chef Steve! The wait times between courses, perfection. We’ve visited this pub on a number of occasions now and feel in a position to offer such a strong review of recommendation! A big thank you again to Channelle, Steve & the team!

Went down last week for food with family, pleasant blonde behind the bar, great food and great atmosphere

Food disappointing and all our meals arrived at different times, food cold and my meal was missing a salad which I had requested rather than chips, no mushrooms or peas which were stated on the menu, I mentioned that bits were missing peas arrived but no mushrooms! The children had mini donuts which were cold and again missing the strawberries. Nice polite staff but really no excuse for the inability to deliver such a simple meal. On leaving there was a group of men smoking in the porch area which is not very welcoming, maybe having a shelter or separate area might be more appropriate.

Had a lovely meal with my partner. The lady at the bar Kelly was amazing very polite and always goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. Steve the chef did fantastic food for us and also goes above and beyond. Fantastic place great for family’s. Thankyou mulberry leaves ❤️

I'm not one for leaving negative reviews but if I could give this place a 0 I would. I wondered why on a Saturday a pub like this was so quiet. Then the food arrived and it said it all. I got the 5 for £21 starters, what a rip off. Over cooked and poor portion size. My partner git the burger and again all ivwr cooked. Burnt bun, rock hard fries very poor. Then my daughter got the gammon, again chips were really hard like they had been cooked a couple of times. Very poor Not once we're we asked if everything was OK. Biggest waste of around £65 ever.

Called in for a quick bite on the way through from shopping, was seated quickly and the food was spot on. The blonde girl serving behind the bar was really friendly and polite and shared some good knowledge of the local area with us. Would definitely go again.

Came in the other day for a few drinks. Great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly - one lady especially behind the bar called Kelly was really kind and went out of her way for you!

Table was ready for us when we got there, unfortunately it was dirty with what looked like soil all over it. We moved tables but table was very sticky. The servers were great and helpful, food was ok, atmosphere was ok.

We popped in to the mulberry leaves yesterday ( 14th Oct 23) I used to go in quite a lot it was always welcoming and friendly and had a decent menu , food was always nice..so when we decided to go for lunch yesterday it was a huge disappointment when the menu had changed ..for the worst! Firstly..nothing on the menu except starters and weirdly desserts was under 1000 calories so for those of you maybe looking for a "healthier alternative" don't bother. You can't even get a jacket potato because they only serve them mon-fri 12-3 !! :/ so jacket potato and any sandwiches are a no go at weekend.. utterly ridiculous. With me breastfeeding and also being diabetic , I wanted to choose something that was slightly healthier than a burger and fries ! Or atleast just be able to have a light bite like a sandwich!! Even the pub classics weren't very classic ! I ended having the tomato soup from the starter menu that should have come with baguette.. I actually got 1slice of thin white stale bread! The edges were rock hard! Noone said they had ran out of baguette or anything. The soup was horrible it tasted so synthetic, and way to sweet. My partner had burger and fries.The burger was way overdone..more like burnt! And why the chef thought it was a really good idea to put the crispy onion bits ontop of the bun ?? What is the point to this!! The fries were overdone, so much so there wasn't many with actual potato inside! Think they had gone a bit OTT with the "dusting" of what I think was supposed to be paprika on the fries. It just dried them out even more and added no flavour whatsoever. My partner asked for no lettuce or onion on the burger...it came with lettuce and onion. We tried to catch waitresses attention before she went away but she l ft before we had chance (admittedly I don't think she heard us) The whole experience was so disappointing. Food rubbish, no light bites, not very welcoming. Oh and the menus need a damn good clean...they were sooo sticky Waste of £25. Will not be returning.

Whilst holidaying in Rudyard we found this place in the lodges guest book and decided to give it a try, I’ve always found with Marstons that you either get really good or the exact opposite, this place was incredible! Big pub with plenty of seating options, enormous car park, the food was spot on, but most importantly the staff were absolutely brilliant! the bar lady was absolutely lovely, she was not only helpful, quick and polite she even took the time to show us some nice places that we should visit whilst visiting the area, The chef as well, not only was his cooking prompt and delicious, he was extremely polite as they had ran out of chicken breast - he was forthcoming, friendly and asked us what we’d like as a replacement on our mixed grill, absolute legend of a guy! both members of staff took the time to talk to us and made us feel welcome, both I’d say are real assets to the brewery and pub, it was one of the best pub experiences I’ve ever had and one day, when we return for our next get away, we will certainly be back. One of the few places I’d give 6/5 if it was allowed!

Still here that’s how bad it is!!!!! Carnt blame the only staff bar member on ! We here on Sunday No carvery as they said is NO pizza oven the food was expensive and I’m sorry to say terrible The place empty and never again will I come please save your money

I wouldn't of reviewed this place even though our experience was bad only for how the manager dealt with the issue we had. Dead fly on our plate before waiter even left the table. Spoke to the lady behind the bar explained we wouldn't be eating etc Manager clearly was in the back but didn't come out. Clearly left it to the inexperienced lady at the bar (not her fault she tried her best). They didn't want to refund the full bill even though we had literally drunk one drink. Said obviously will pay for the one we had drank. No manager refused but did this through the poor bar staff, he expected us to pay/stay and drink the drinks even though we hadn't and couldn't eat the poor quality food. Asked for him to come out and speak to me. Suddenly he had already left the building and wasn't taking the bar lady's numerous calls. I asked if the pub had swapped hands because even the look of the food coming out on cracked plates, frozen buns and burger patties etc was poor. The food etc used to be gorgeous here but since disappearing Steve has took over it has absolutely has gone down hill. Such a shame and to top it all off it was my daughters birthday. Visited for weekday lunch. Placed our food order at the bar and 16 minutes later someone came to tell us one of the meals ( Lasagne ) wasn't available. Surely they should've know sooner. Ordered an alternative which should have come with onion rings but didn't. Another table was informed after waiting for their meal no prawns available for jacket potato they'd ordered. It was very quiet and hardly any staff. The food we did get was OK in the end but not particularly special.

Lovely little pub, staff are friendly and professional.

We had a super salad it was not a super salad we get more at Aldi for what we got there,complained but nothing was done about it!

Went for food on Thursday...I hate to say it but I was extremely disappointed! I ordered the curry which arrived smaller than a starter and also with rice when I ordered chips to which the young gentlemen serving said he'd bring some out - they never arrived! It also didn't come with mango chutney so I asked and he said I don't know if there is any, but i was still charges full whack? He then brought me some but it was unbelievably stale along with the poppadom i can't even comprehend how vile it tasted. There was no apology or alternative offered and as I say it was very disappointing. There was only a couple of families in at the time too so it wasn't as though anyone was rushed off of their feet. The place wasn't particularly clean and my 2 year olds chicken dippers also tasted awful! I messaged privately to be ignored so I'll post it publicly for all to see. If you want a decent meal (as used to be the case very much so a few years ago) do NOT go here.

We came here tonight walked in all good ordered drinks sat down discussed what we wanted for food I went to the bar ordered my stake was asked if I wanted egg or pineapple I clearly stated 2 eggs and 2 pineapple slices and when my food came there was 1 of each I asked the waiter about my 2 eggs and pineapple slices and the woman at the bar came over and said she has only put 1 of each though and expected me to go to the bar there and then and pay for the extra also waited 10 mins for tomato sauce and asked for a stake nife and she brought one out that was dirty so asked for another one that was a little better also no salt or pepper on the table WAS NOT IMPRESSED HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED

Completely shocked by this establishment. The food was the worst Iv ever seen, it looked awful and that was before we even tasted it. The food was absolutely vile, undercooked near on freezing in the middle, the topped chips were just awful what was supposed to be pork was that far gone it resembled tuna. The staff were non existent, sat around talking on the tables together, we didn’t even realise they were staff until one got up and cleared the table. This place was filthy with awful food and should not be aloud to operate to the public, ruined our night away with our children.

Friendly staff who were happy to help. Great selection of food and drink. Good Friendly atmosphere where the staff where happy to help and accommodate any requirements you may have.

Gone very downhill. Slow! No milk, no sausage!

Super nice pint. We had the little side of cheese dippers, you only get three but they were tasty. £5 a pint, nice.

Wouldnt feed what they serve to a dog, what was more amusing is that my dog turned her nose up at the food and never refuses anything. Absolutely disgusting service, staff were rude and didnt seem to know how to smile. Kids bringing the food out from the kitchen and serving customers and only around age 10. Someone needs to call social services…

Bit disappointed with the steak. Asked for medium and was more well done. Wasn’t given steak knifes. Once finished we order desserts and they took 20 minutes to arrive and our empty plates were still on the table. Could just be an off day as the bar man was pretty friendly

We have never visited this pub before, but were on holiday in the area and had driven past and the pub looked nice from the outside. We booked a table for 6pm. On arrival there was 1 member of staff at the bar. There were plates and glasses stacked up at the bar and children running wild around the building the whole time we were there. We waited for someone to greet us as is normal at a pub that takes bookings. No-one came, the woman at the bar was chatting to customers, not serving, just chatting. A man in your uniform came past and we told him we had booked a table. He looked really surprised by this, and ushered the 6 of us (5 adults, and a 12 year old) to a filthy table in the far corner. The table had food still on it from whoever sat there before, and rubbish and food under the table. We moved tables, but this table was also filthy. I wiped the table with a wet napkin and it came up black! There was "clean" cutlery on the table that was also filthy dirty, with food still on it. Giving the place the benefit of the doubt, we chose what we wanted to order and tried to order on the app via the QR code on the menu. This wasn't working, we tried 2 different phones in our party. So a couple of us of us went to the bar to order. People who arrived at the bar after us got served before us. My son is not hard to spot waiting, he's well over 6ft as was his dad who was at the bar with him. The bar staff obviously knew them as they were on first name terms and very chatty. They stood there for a few more minutes, but were ignored in favour of other customers. While I was sat at the still sticky table, a young boy who could have been no more than 12, dressed in staff uniform was clearing tables and called for "dad" to help him with something. I saw 2 members of staff in the pub. We eventually got up and left after deciding that the food would have been awful and goodness only knows the state of the kitchen if they can't clean tables or cutlery to a decent standard. Yes I know cutlery is done in a dishwasher, but people laying tables also have eyes to make sure they are clean. Basically, the place was filthy, it was like a creche for the beered up parents sitting outside in the sunshine, and it seems to run on skeleton staff with child labour. Awful place, awful experience. We will not be returning or recommending. There's a lovely Wetherspoons pub just down the road who know how to treat their customers.
