Having lived in Royston for a while, we have tried a number of the Indian restaurants and takeaways. Since having food from Mughal Kitchen we haven’t looked back, and they are now our go to Indian takeaway. On the most recent occasion, the food was piping hot - even the poppadoms which shows how fresh it was. The food was well portioned, good value and of course tasted great. I would not hesitate to recommend Mughal Kitchen to any friends or family, and we will remain loyal to them!

Really disappointed with the food yesterday maybe it was too late to order but the poppadoms were stale and the curry was cold and tasted off usually very happy with the food so hopefully just an off day

Biryani was as awesome as ever. My aubergine bahji was disgusting though, tasted like there was a ton of cinnamon in it. First time I've thrown food away from here. I was really looking forward to that side dish! Won't be ordering it again. 5 stars for the main, minus 5 for the side, hence my unusual 3 star rating.

Isn't it nice when good things stay good? I last reviewed Mughal Kitchen five years ago, but I've used them less than they deserve since. Last night i ordered from the train as it left Baldock, and my tandoori mixed grill was ready when I arrived at Kneesworth St. As always, it was excellently done, as were the side dishes and the naan. They are still the best in Royston by a country mile which is kind of reassuring.

Thank you!..Another fantastic meal. Easily fed our family of 6 with leftovers. Even our super fussy eater who refused curry for years eats from here.

Butterfly prawn was dry and came as a big butterfly, was expecting smaller pieces, poppadoms were nice, and the rice and butter chicken was ok

Have been using Mugal kitchen for almost ten years now. Best Indian takeaway around Royston with ease . Great food, time after time . Would not go anywhere else.

Naan breads were nice, chicken was dry and chewy, korma and tikka massala were too sweet. Madras tasted like it had alot of lemon juice in it. Lamb was dry and chewy. Disappointed. Unlikely to order here again.

The food was piping hot but the popdums were old and tasted awful. The red dip was to tangy tasted like a pot of vinegar. Everything else was lovely

First time ordering from Mughal Kitchen this evening. So flavoursome! Absolutely every dish was delicious. Needless to say it will now be our ‘go to’. Even arrived just before predicted delivery time. Very welcome bonus! 5*

It came early and the delivery driver was nice. Some of the things I ordered were nice, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have anything from them again. Other bits were not, particularly the mushroom bhaji and tarka dhal.

Take away ordered today. Food ok only. Why ruin the taste of dishes by adding so much uncooked green chilli? Authentic Indian food is not like this and unfortunately the take away/delivery was a disappointment for us. Rice dishes were good, but the sauces were not. Prawn jalfrezi and vegetable curry sauces were the dishes that let us down.

Mughal is my go to Indian takeaway but tonight it was really, really bad. Chicken hard, dry and doubtful if it was actually thoroughly cooked. Hopefully just a one off

Very knowledgeable, friendly staff. The three of us hadn’t tried them before and we were pleasantly surprised. Ordered and collected in minutes. The food was delicious. We will use them again 👍🏻x5

Ordered last night, as we thought this was the best Indian around royston after trying most of them and have been ordering regualry for ages. Arrived within a good time for a Saturday evening, my daughter order lamb korma, mine as usual was korma sauce and as usual I couldn't eat as there were small piece of lamb in my korma I AM A VEGETARIAN that's why I always ask for just sauce, in the past others have ordered chicken korma and my sauce has had small pieces of chicken in my sauce so I always stick with rice and naan. Although It always angers me and I have told the them in the notes when ordering that is must be just sauce, I've given up , and the rest of my family love thier chosen dishes so I always lose the argument when we get a takeaway, however I am not sure if they have changed chef but my sauce was dark with very little cream or coconut taste, what I did eat before a found the meat , it had an odd hot after taste. So after months of hoping I got just sauce I am afraid we are giving up of this as our choice of takeaways and if u are a vegetarian I'd stay well clear and don't trust it's not got any meat hiding in it. Will not be using this take away any more I'm afraid.

The coconut rice was missed and we were given pilau rice instead. Despite this, great tasting food. Delivery driver couldn’t find us this time, so was late.

First time in years for ordering from here but not for any particular reason. Ordered on line and picked what time for delivery and came about 5 mins early which was excellent service. The food was beautiful and the chicken pieces were nice and tender. What's more important was it was all piping hot so didn't have to zap it like we have had to do from some other take-aways. Most definately order again from here and on-line as simple and easy.

Unfortunately my dinner was so tangy and sour, it ruined everything on my plate. I order a chicken Ceylon every single time so I know how it should taste. Unfortunately my meal was inedible apart from the naan. I'd very much appreciated a refund if at all possible.

We ordered a starter, two mains and some sides. The food was delicious, and the portions were handsome. This was good quality Indian food, with strong flavours - just as one would expect. Delivery was prompt and kind! Thank you so much! :) A note to the restaurant - it will be helpful to have a bit more info on the order menu. For example, how many samosas per portion, and a bit more about the ingredients of the mains, as well as the level of spiciness. Thanks again!

Really great food, food arrived piping hot and delicious. They missed off our naan bread, but we recover a fresh hot bread within 15 mins and some extra poppadoms for our troubles. Will definitely use again soon, thanks

The Chicken Nagaria was so hot it was inedible despite describing it as fairly hot, the mixed delight described as medium hot had no heat at all, the rest of the food was excellent.

First time ordering with Mughal it was so good. Don’t know why we haven’t ordered before! not greasy, full of flavour, really good value for money and delivery was bang on time. Will definitely be ordering again 😊

Food was disgusting - tried to speak with them about it but they clearly aren't interested. Thirty quid down the drain, literally. Simply cannot understand all the rave reviews because their food and after-service is dreadful.

Apart from the heavy, uncooked garlic taste, our £30 food was utterly flavourless and the naan and chapati were dry and stale. This was our first experience; it most certainly will be our last.
